At start of season I thought Adeyemi was going to be the holding midfielder, supporting defence while Cook pushed forward, but now with addition of Bridcutt adding some steel and Adeyemi appearing to want to get into the opposing half to increase attacking threat then maybe midfield will be more competitive and combatant. Then again it was only one game lol.

I for one would like to keep Sam Byram at the club, but as Evans says we don't want anyone not fully comitted around the club. Let Byram go, get a good fee and get on with the job we have ahead of us.

Think it's about time we just said adios to byram. Is he really worth it . In the famous words of Janet Jackson. 'what have you done for me lately'

If he has any feelings for the club he should sign the contract. His agent can agree all manner of get out clauses to allow him to leave if the right offer comes along. By not signing all he is doing allowing premiership clubs to come in and get him at a knock down price. Him saying he will sign if he is playing regularly (if that report is correct) doesn't sit right particularly as he is where he is, viz a viz being a potential signing for premiership clubs, because of LUFC. He should do the right thing and sign and then go when he wants to at the right price.

So you think it's easy to run rings round Cellino.
Please think again he's tougher than any agent active in the UK.
When he says this is my offer then that's it.
He's like a brick wall.

Walls can be taken down Untouchy. No doubt Cellino is tough but I'm predicting some anguish and uturn by Byram in January. If we can go on an unbeaten run Sam may not be able to live with the jealousy as he'll know he would've wanted to be involved in the playoffs. The next few weeks are critical. I'd like to keep Sam. Meanwhile much credit must go to Evans for at least resuming negotiations and better performances.

Totally agree with all the posts about Byram should want to play for the club, however why would he sign a new contract when it is clear Evans prefers Wootton to Byram at right back and please don't tell me Evans is doing the right thing by not playing Byram because he hasn't signed a new contract. Evans is a professional and as such he has an obligation to play the best possible team and it is clear Wootton is preferred to Byram and if Evans really believes Wootton is better than Byram maybe he isn't the right manager for our great club.

Shag

Byram better player all day long over Wooton but the only reason either of them got a look in is because of Berardi suspension and he has been in fine form. Same cannot be said about Sam whose form has been mixed. Some players get selected and omitted on form. With 3 RBs at club this'll be one of those occasions. Evans the man for me. He done well.

Was yesterday a matter of hoofing it and two lucky breaks on the long ball? Or did we actually get the ball on the deck and pass it around?

No and yes respectively.

I said it in previous post give Evans time to get some of his own players in and let's see where we are end of season in the meantime give him and cellino some backing and Leeds will be great again.

Agree Wex, keep bridcut add 3-4 of his type of players if possible in January and then see how he does, if he gets better than 13th then give him a go for next season, no need to keep changing give the big one a chance.

What a pleasure it was to come away from Elland Road with three valuable points from a well earned victory and also to see a Leeds team play with a bit of commitment, something that as been sadly lacking in too many games so far this season. I was impressed with our new acquisition Liam Bridcutt, not a big lad but very commanding in the midfield, knew his role and gave players around him a lot of confidence. I do hope that the club are able to extend his loan period he is someone we havie been wanting in that area of the field. Good to see that Steve Evans is not afraid to change the formation to achieve the right result and trust that he doesn't switch back to 4-4-2 too quickly, let's try and put some results together with this system before our opponents work us out. Won't mention the right back except to say Berradi should be back from suspension next week for our trip to Charlton. My message to Evans more of the same please.

Good post EKW. Try not to use as many "the". You'll sound more like Yorkshireman.

If we acquire classy central defender in January window we have chance of making 6th spot.

Thanks George, I think you might be right. another good acquisition and we might become a threat, and you're right, a Yorkshire man through and through with Leeds blood running through my veins.

You know what I like about winning yesterday?
We finally have a coach that has a plan b! Finally someone who changes line up, which worked. Welldone mate!
And to chap below who said he was impressed with woods effort. The whole team should be putting max effort in every week. No exception. I think 1 good game in 8 bad ones is useless!

Plan b, what's that? It's been such a long time since I've seen one think I've fotgotten what one is.
We can't expect the whole team to put in max effort in every week. IMO we only need about 6-8 of the team to be on song week in week out, the rest of the team need to be at 80-90%. How many teams play week in, week out with all playerying to their max?

Know what Aus means, on the day everyone on the pitch should be trying their hardest, we have not been getting that. Not everyones 100 per cent but when you go to work you putt a shift in, or go on sick. You don't go in and use it as an excuse to do nothing. Hopefully team fired up a bit now and have belief to move on and up.

well sam got offer of whatever been told think about it . then well cutting to chase agree or clear off . evans says do you want to stay or not . so this is your offer stay on this offer or get out making it seam sam wants to go . or beening pushed out.

Its not about being pushed out. Premierships clubs interested, he needs to think about his future. Offered what everyone else is on, maybe bit more. At this stage in his career he has to think about best thing for him. Big gamble if he stays and we go nowhere. Big gamble if he moves to struggling premier team. We are not saying sign or go, saying sign and stay. Up to the lad, think he will go if right club offers, hope for his sake he don't go to Sunderland.

I think we should put the Sam situation to rest now and move on. He's been treated badly earlier in the season, but now been offered an extension on the same pay. He's Leeds United through and through and if we were pushing for promotion I have no doubt he would be staying. But we aren't and we can't blame him for having higher ambitions and wanting to further his career elsewhere. I love Sam and will be sorry to see him go, and wish him well.
Unfortunately MC's big mouth, and probable interference, has meant Sam hasn't been starting games that he should have been starting in, and will also mean that the fee we get will be nowhere near as good as it could have been.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Dec 2015 14:30:54
Can we all just drop this stuff about MC having influence in picking team as there is no proof at all and do we really think that big SE would let this happen, we'll do we cause I don't .

He has very vocal opinions on football but so what we all do but the idea that he is controlling SE selections/tactics is just bull.

Sam B is a good fullback but has been poor for about a year now nothing like the player he was, sure lots of reasons for this but main reason he has not been in team is because of poor form, Berardi playing better and SE seems to have more faith in Wooten to do a job, but that is SE call I may agree or not but players move on all the time so if Sam wants to go that up to him we will go on but I'm not letting people use the SB example of him going, which he will, as some kind of example that we are in crisis cause this kind of thing happens all the time.

Also he may never be as good as in the first year again, funny thing confidence a good example of this is Will Buckley, brill for Brighton for 2 years, has confidence knocked and now looks just crap when playing.

Hopefully SB will chose what right for him and I wish him well but no reason we can't replace him with someone who is better as SB has had little impact for team on our team for a while now.

Well done SE for changing tactics for the game ( I even said that we needed 5 in midfield before game as was clear but at least he had bollocks to do it) , shows what we can do, next game is a big one now, win that and it will be 4 wins in 6, not to bad for a crisis club!

Agreed byram has had his head turned and has one foot out the door personally I think his agent has told him he's for a premiership club and is looking for his cut so any deal from Leeds won't be enough.

Enjoyed the game, for me the fact that we kept at them all match was the main thing, Silvestre was very professional for the last 20mins, gave the the Ref ( who had a poor second half) a good wind up by wasting as much time as possible.

Well done Chris Wood yesterday I've criticised him recently but if he puts in that performance every week he will be immense here ay Elland Road. Needs to get Bridcutt signed up and if Sam goes. that now looks likely . strengthen da defence with a bit of expieriance then we should be OK.
