Is anybody not slightly suspicious of the almost total lack of acceptance of Cellino on the Leeds United Official Website?

I have seen only one minor posting about his being cleared by the QC to take over the club?

You'd think GFH would be jumping up and down about it rather than just ignoring such a major change in ownership of Leeds United?

Or maybe they are hoping to gazump him?

Don't know why you are supposed about the OS. There is nothing ever on there other than out dated statements much of what is already in public domain. it is never used as an exclusive scoop or conjecture.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think they'll just want to crawl away quietly don't ya think

Please calm down we all got excited when a certain mr bates took control
.yes its great that we have a passionate owner but we still have to get through this debarckle of a season with mcd at the helm and only 2-3players wanting to wear the white shirt of pride! And know way of knowing wot the manager wants from them! Xcrossed 4 the future. mot.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think you'll find the players will have a different attitude now they have someone in charge of the club that has little respect for the contracts they have and enough money to pay them off.

Hopefully we can finally get rid of all the players well past their sell by date and Butland will surely be the first player found surplus to requirement?

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris Hughton sacked as Norwich manager! Could we see him at Leeds soon if McDermott gets the sack? He likes Leeds players enough? Your thoughts ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - I doubt it mate, I can see Cellino going for someone like Zola}

Good shout, don't know about Zola he nearly did it with Watford!

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't want him - utter carp and after what he said during his attempt to poach Beckford.

Malky McKay or Simon Grayson for me

Agree0 Disagree0

It wouldn't surprise me if Norwich approached us for McDermott! Seeing as they're desperate to sign anyone from us.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 20:12:36
Gus Poyet - got to be approached soon as sunderland go down? Poyet loves Leeds with integrity . pass this on to Massimo please

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we should be able to get a higher profile more successful manager with a proven track record than Poyet if McDermott goes

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 22:57:47
Agree with 1st reply, BMcD got a better record!

Agree0 Disagree0

Like whom? i'd take Gus for his passion an ability to motivate players over most . he knows the League - who else? - Zola? not for me - De Matteo will want a bigger team in prem i'd say? Reckon Malk Mackay will go to Norwich and they can have him. i'd have Zola and Luca Vialli as a pair - and i'd take De Canio for the spirit too even though he is bonkers - I like a bit of spirit - Brian has to go - he's not got the FIRE in him - too mild

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely not Di Canio, I have a friend who coaches one of the youth teams at Sunderland and he said that while he had the fire to change things in the first season he quickly lost the dressing room in the second and alienated a lot of the players and staff. Great as a shock manager for a few games but terrible beyond that

People don't quite understand the way the law works. Cm is fine the QCs purpose was to say if Massimos actions were deliberately dishonest which they were found not to be.

Yes he should of paid the tax on the yacht and he is guilty of avoiding paying the tax, but it's not a deliberately dishonest act. Merely a misunderstanding of the tax regulation. Perhaps I'll advised by an accountant. The ruling he is not dishonest is now not up for argument.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For the FL continue to pursue Cellino as unfit would smack of victimisation, what do they want to do, keep appealing until they get the decision they want or leave it alone and sanction his takeover, the judge has made his ruling so let it be.

Agree0 Disagree0

QC Kerr ruled that the Italian court had not stated that MC had been dishonest although the guardian says they may confirm that as early as June. I hope tomorrow brings some clarification but doubt there will be any announcement before Thursday and you can bet your life the FL won't concede without a fight

Agree0 Disagree0

In accordance with FL rules the outcome of the appeal is final. When they say that that will "consider the findings" what I suspect they mean is perhaps a review of the fit and proper test. I would suggest making the whole adjudication process of football ownership wholly independent, and not lauded over by football club competitors with a vested interest in takeovers failing

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 18:52:05
The football league are meeting on Thurs. To decide wether or not to give approval for cellino to take over or not? I don't understand. I thought the qc s judgement was supposed to ne final. If not what was the point?
a slighty worried bob from Wakefield x

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed can you help can fl do anything or is the QC's word final

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - There is another process they can go down, but then Cellino could appeal again. It is a vicious circle and I think they will just accept it and move on}

I think so too Ed, the only problem I see is if Cellino is ultimately found guilty in the Italian courts, but he will have been the owner for months by then and it wil not be easy to oust him, we've won the battle, now let's win the war.MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 18:48:22
As I understand it FL have still not given MC the all clear to take over the club and are meeting Thusday to discuss their next move. Great news that QC Kerr has ruled that FL failed to interpret italian law correctly but can't celebrate until FL accept MC without any caveats

MOT

I'm really happy that MC has been allowed to take us over but i'm wondering what will happen if he is found guilty on appeal in his tax case in Italy. I know the FL can't do anything, see the Birmingham case for precident on that but it would leave us with a convicted criminal in charge. I know this is all in the future and I am happy for now but just having a little look at what the future might bring.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Apr 2014 17:38:44
Hi ed could u tell me, if cellinio looses the appeal against his tax evasion case will this jeopardise him taking us over,

Delboy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - It could do, but I am sure he will have a plan to avoid this. Once he is in the seat it would be very hard to remove him}

http://roblufc.org/2014/04/06/football-league-need-to-be-wary-of-vendetta-accusations-by-rob-atkinson/

The above link has me worried, in a nut shell it says if MC is found guilty after his appeal in Italy is heard the FL can have another go at him is this true?
p.s. a worried fan.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Apr 2014 16:41:32
There will be some concern about the FL appealing, I have just read the full judgement and even though I have had no legal training it's clear that
The FL tried everything not to loose face including trying to get the independent legal advisor banned because he did not support them!
The QC pretty much says the FL screwed up with their original decision by not taking time to understand Italian law
The FL may cut up rough but it's hard to see on what grounds, it really does show the FL are self serving with no thought for the clubs.
Lets hope we can leave them behind to join the PL who understand clubs with tradition,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Apr 2014 16:26:06
Ed could you please clarify, Is Cellino now the 'Official' owner of Leeds Utd? is their any chance that it could still not go through? just that stuff in the guardian suggesting its not over yet. Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - I have seen that article, but I cannot see how Cellino would not be the owner when he won the appeal. I think he just needs the FL to sign it off}

Leeds United OS isn't making any song or dance over this at present, just a small article?

You'd think they'd be over the moon at selling 75% of their shares, but obviously not?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 16:03:13
I'd like to see Scott parker(captain) and joe cole to start with next season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd like to see the players that come in around a decade younger than those two.

Agree0 Disagree0

Build round these two, remember Strachen?

06 Apr 2014 15:54:53
Cellino will use Scouts posted in Europe South America and Latin America also these scouts are currently at Cagliari but will hopefully use them next season if not the season after for definite also will sell Cagliari as soon as he gets the right offer in as he only has one club in his heart and that's Leeds will do a press conference tomorrow and start work straight away in making Leeds a club the fans can be proud of and the worst the football league can do is ask him to resign from the board because he owns the club but even if he resigns from the board he still owns the club like at Birmingham so Cellino isn't going anywhere sorry football league but theirs nothing you can do YOU MAD BRO?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Apr 2014 15:54:05
Hi ed, will there be a poll on motm for Wigan game? Thanks Harte of leeds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - Yes mate, doing it now. Should be up in ten minutes}

06 Apr 2014 15:41:19
Cellino will use Scouts posted in Europe South America and Latin America also these scouts are currently at Cagliari but will hopefully use them next season if not the season after for definite also will sell Cagliari as soon as he gets the right offer in as he only has one club in his heart and that's Leeds will do a press conference tomorrow and start work straight away in making Leeds a club the fans can be proud of

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Apr 2014 15:35:19
Cellino to sell Cagliari once he gets a good offer and to use his scouts from Cagliari hopefully next season if not definitely the season after he had 4 players lined up in January but couldn't transfer due to ownership situation he will buy Elland Road and Thorpe Arch next week he will hold his press conference in London tomorrow and begin work at transforming Leeds immediately his scouts are currently posted in Europe South America and Latin America

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Apr 2014 15:21:27
So. Massimo Cellino has said he wants to build a team with an english core, I might be living in the past but I would like to see Paul Robinson back between the Elland Road Sticks, also Jonathan Woodgate, Possibly even Aaron Lennon back on loan? Who do you want? Discuss.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Scott Parker, I know he's knocking on but rate him and think we could use a player like him. Also andy reid from forest, On the younger side I'd like to see ravel Morrison or wilf zaha on loan, maybe extend butlands loan if we et a decent back line in front. Paul Robinson a good shout, woodgate is rather pass on though if I had to pick my favourite cb from champs it would be that wes Morgan from Leicester although no chance they would sell him I don't think. Any thoughts? Harte of leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a manager first!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mathew upson
Brede hangeland is very solid not english though
James tomkins
Eric direr- english, young and very promising

Will Buckley on the wing

Cellino will bring in tabanelli and avelar from cagilari as they are the players he wanted to bring in in January

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh and what's that Peterborough striker called that seems to score every week?

Agree0 Disagree0

Assombolango (spelling)

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 19:29:11
Tabanelli not a cagliari player but I think I know what tou mean!

Agree0 Disagree0

Assombalonga- 26 goals this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah that's the one brit or Brett assombolonga not seen him play but seems to score for fun definitely seems worth a punt, anyone seen much of him? Harte of leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yeah he actually plays for as Cesena but impressed so now he is at cagilari. Still I highly doubt he hoofs the ball. Although a good improvement against wigan. Consistency is a big problem. We still need a clear out, we can't risk it next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is very prolific and Peterborough do develop great strikers at this level.
Dwight gayle
Lee tomlin
Craig makail smith all of recent and assomobolango has done the best out of all them. Smith wasnt amazing in league one and we gave him a chance and he's done well so assamobolango should do well at this level and beyond

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 23:25:08
I'd like to see something we haven't had since 1996. a good left back. God loves you Tony Dorigo!also A good keeper a quick centre half an experienced head at the side of young Dawson 2 wingers that want to play for us. Kebe Stewart hunt Murphy Pugh Warnock Lees zaliukas peltier Norris drury varney off the books. We might finally be able to pay Robbie Fowler off now.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 15:01:06
I can understand if McD can't get best out of players who aren't getting paid, as some of you say! But the players that lost at Rochdale, Wednesdays and played like amateurs without a care for club or fans creamed over a million in wages that month! Don't blame recent financial problems on McDermotts failure to motivate!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Apr 2014 12:00:42
I can't see them having any chance now, he was only talking to them in case it went belly up!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - TL I think this is aimed at}

06 Apr 2014 13:21:57
now we know the situation I think the players now will have to have a good look at themselves, bar ross of coarse! here last week we have players wanting to know were there next wage packet is coming from?
but now with Cellino in they know they must play for their wage if his interview is anything to go by!
oh lads I can breath so much better since yesterday!
think we should keep bmc too and give him money to get the player he wants not 2nd and 3rd choices that he had to contend with losing out to the likes of barnes etc. and couldn't compete financially I think we can safely say we compete with any1 now in our division for transfers. don't think Cellino will be shafted on wages though!
only way is up bar this season lol
p.s I also hear GFH wouldn't fund the barnes deal from brighton because his states on FIFA 14 weren't up to scatch shows what clowns we have have at our club.
Pffft amatuers!

I would love to be in the board room next week and see how far david haigh will try and stick his tongue up massimos runway belly the white

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't think DH will make it as far as the boardroom!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 12:27:18
there is no way brian mac will be given any more time may see out the rest of the season but there will be a lot of changes I feel a bit sorry for brian he has had one hell of a tough job and credit where credits due all the takeoffs that he has put up with but look at the signings noel hunt 25k a week kebe stewart need I go on Massimo will make leeds great again you have to give the guy credit when Harvey and co turned him down he could have walked away but when he attended those few games and saw the desire and passion of the fans and witnessed the amazing atmosphere at the great elland road he knew he had to challenge the fl and appeal belly the white

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Apr 2014 12:24:19
how much money is cellino actually worth? as much a everyone makes out? And how much do you see him spending this summer? thanks and MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They say he is worth 1.2 billion

Agree0 Disagree0

Supposedly 1billion would like 5% of that to spend but I doubt it lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Thrilled by Cellino's takeover like every fan now seems to be. Will give club stability and safety. But remember we will have to follow the financial fair play act. Not really just a question of how much money he has to throw in, but what an experienced football business man can do to turn this club around, to controle expences and make better incomes! We're heading forward, I believe - fast!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Apr 2014 11:46:13
I can think of at least 1 thing the football league needs to change in their rules & it's that any owner of a club should not be allowed to withhold putting money into it & be allowed to go into admin aka gfh. That should never be allowed to happen. Imagine saying to the bank sorry i'm not paying the mortgage.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Apr 2014 11:44:42
So Massimo takes over, good news. Just hope the revolving door of managers does not start to revolve. We were 5th before all this ownwership flight started so despite some odd decisions by BMD, I hope that he is given the chance to prove himself, because I think he is actually a good coach, but has had to put up with all the nonsense from GFH etc. let's end the season as we started this behind him and the team and looking forward to a huge step forward next season. Onwards and upwards - United are back!?
Tewey

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haigh gone wish GFH would do one as well! Good Riddance MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally disagree with back BMC, when the whistle blows all the troubles off field should be forgotten and it is his job to ensure that happens, his tactics are inept and he has no clue how to change things when we are losing. your wrong on this one fella.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that McDermott should be given an opportunity with some stability. The people wanting him sacked on here are the same people posting 'In Brian We Trust' when were 5th and playing well. So many Leeds fans seem to have very short memories, no empathy or understanding of real life combined with completely unrealistic expectations. I'd judge him 3-4 months after an unhindered transfer window and pre-season, if he's given that opportunity.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont know whether I would trust him with a decent transfer kitty, hunt, stewart, kebe etc

Tha axeman cometh, awesome, Haigh has received his comeuppance and is the first head to roll. A huge weight is lifted, we can look for news now without hiding behind our hands, the awful spectre of financial ruin et al is gone. Please Mr Cellino can you go to the bank on monday and buy ER, thank you in anticipation

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Be great if GFH are the next to go, only in it for the money, no affinity for Leeds whatsoever and no better than Bates, if Cellino can acquire 100% ownership would be the icing on the cake, although I think its the wrong time to sack Brian, I think hell be gone this week, top club, top owner we need a top manager now.

First head to roll u say. You'll need more with Haigh. By all accounts he has many faces!

After yesterday's momentous news I have to say SORRY and I misread the outcome.
The FL asked for the result of the appeal to be delayed till after the match.
Clearly they believed they would win and tried to avoid trouble on a TV match day.
Thankfully they were wrong and so was I again so marvellous I'm so happy for everyone especially Massimo.
All of us now have the result we have prayed for and with Massimo at the helm we will see promotion next season.
After making this apology I will get back to peace and quiet and get on with Yorkshire Radio.
Very last word thanks My Lord Mr Justice Kerr you are a hero.
Think I will ask him to do an interview.
He will always be welcome in Leeds.

Manny Cussins - Massimo Cellino

2 of the most successful chairman of Leeds United!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can you imagine how all the Leeds haters are feeling right now, the thought of the mighty whites with money and fanatical leader will send shivers down their spine, it seems Cellino has the passion to match the fans, after all the barren years were on the march again, ain't life grand lol, MOT.

Surely the Football League are in for a little trouble now? It seems their criteria for judgement are uneven at best. We all know the examples of inappropriate applicants who have been passed fit and proper within a couple of weeks. If Sgnr Cellino achieves ultimate success with Leeds, will he retrospectively sue these persons for hampering the sensible and correct administration of a large company? PK
