Carlton cole been released by west ham, surely worth a shout on a free transfer who I think will be a good championship player. Also eric lichaj been released by villa. Was a very good player for us when was on loan. MOT

Leeds don't need players that are worth a shout, LUFC need players to take them to the next level.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Noel Hunt does sign then I expect him to be behind McCormack, Morison and one other, possibly Doyle or Sharp, in the pecking order.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wages wise noel hunt but ability wise carlton cole all day long

What doe's everyone make of Noel Hunt supposedly signing for us? Don't know how true it is, but I can ask him Sunday night. He's getting married this month and is having his stag in my hometown of Ennis, Co. Clare this weekend! He owns a pub called The Dugout and sponsored jackets for my team. So we have to meet him Sunday night and thank him and get a few pic's with him. Looking forward to going down with my Leeds jersey on. Hope Ian Harte is there as well! I'll be back on Monday with answers! EnnisWhite.

No thanks you can tell him he is not prolific enough for Leeds and I personally do not want him at our club. A waste of good money that could be used on a striker with a better strike rate. Do you really want a load of strikers that aren't prolific? Come on you must want less players and more quality. quality not quantity.

im one of the best leeds fans you will ever have and i'm from west wales I just think people speculate to much by way been leeds fan for 40 yrs

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So you think it's speculating too much to say that Eric Cantona's been seen with his agent at the railway station eating a baguette and my mate Lucas says he's been in training for a come back at Leeds?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tell me whose wife he had with him and I might believe you. Anyways, gareth popped into my newsagency this morning and asked for a free pen. ( welsh eh!? ) said had a lot of papers to sign at elland rd/ thorpe arch. Also said he knew jonesie, from wales, and jonesie was the reason he was signing for leeds and not barca or real
Arent the welsh great!

Wayne bridge available on a free be a great signing MOT. Jp

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeh, let's have him and harte to challenge drury and Warnock for the left-back-in-his-thirties position.

Agree0 Disagree0

32 and would have at least 2 years in him. Good player. Good enough for harry, good enough for me!

Richard dunne would be a great signing if we could get him in. Heard Celtic are after him though

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Celtic not interested in him. Would only get him on a pay as you play basis as he has been out injured for a year

Florent Malouda released by Chelski. pay the guy 80k a week on a 12 month contract would cost less than a million! ( and he's only 32 )

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think if you times 52 week by 80k it comes to more than 1mil try 4 million

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2013 15:35:57
80k a week for 12 months is just over 4 million! Go back to school or buy a calculator.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who does your maths? and what about the upsetting the dressing room when he is on 80K and everyone else is on a tenner?

Agree0 Disagree0

You would still have to pay him a considerable signing on fee which would take the expense well over a million

Agree0 Disagree0

80 x4 = 320. 320 x12 = 3. 84m

I think that 3. 84 is more than 1m?

Agree0 Disagree0

ER! Somebodies maths is out. 12 Months £80,000 a week. that's approx £4 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

80k a week would mean 4. 16million ponds a year, just a bit too much I think mate! do the maths next time ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets just say maths isn't a strong point for Leeds fans looking at some of the results lol

Agree0 Disagree0

With maths skills like that I think the OP may be Peter Ridsdale! :op

Agree0 Disagree0

OP here. double DOH. didn't have my maths head on this morning :- (

Agree0 Disagree0

OP I think you prob did 80K per month which would be £960K easy mistake :) Got ya Back

Agree0 Disagree0

No wonder I just scraped a pass at 'A' level maths. no need for trolls I just did x12 and not x52. you know what happens when your mind is thinking one thing and your hands do another LOL

Not a FACT but just personal opinion. Leeds transfer policy has been pretty consistent over the past few seasons in that we balance the books with sales in order to make purchases i. e. the sale of snodgrass allowed the purchase of Pearce, Varney, Norris. Unfortunately in order to fund the changes needed BMcD will need to sell Byram however I would be suprised if we achieve the £10 million transfer fee that others are predicting. I think it is more likely that we will receive £3m to £4m and a player in exchange. This will finance the purchases of Wabara (the replacement for Byram) and others. Early acquistions will be through free transfers as the deadwood has been moved on to free up wages

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We have no reason to sell for a low fee like that.
If Wilfred Zaha is worth 15 million then Byram is worth £10 million. England has tons of future wingers (Walcott, chamberlain etc), but has no quality future right backs (G. Johnson is very poor).
Plus if Byram goes then that shows the club has no ambition and it's the same old system again. I won't renew my ticket if that happens until GFH are gone (I put up with Bates because there was no one else - but these mugs shouldn't have bought it if they never had the cash to invest - should have let Preston Haskell buy it)

Agree0 Disagree0

Byram is no future england right back, fans are so biased, he's an average player in a poor team, weak and out of position numerous times this year. Has only 1 foot, I recon he'll play for sunderland, west ham/brom. Certainly not the top 4 and most definitley not england

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the last poster is not realising how old sam byram actually is to say he's an average player. are you forgetting that players improve and to say he's weak haha give me another rb whos handles bale last season like byram did

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster who labeled sam byram an average player. this has been his first season in the senior team and he's done amazingly well he can only get better and with the clear lack of quality RBs I can't see why he won't be in the england squad. don't forget how well he played against premier league opposition despite never playing against players of tht quality before

Agree0 Disagree0

You've hit the nail on the head, its his first season in the senior team, so how do you value him at £10 million?

Get real

Agree0 Disagree0

Because that the value that his been marked with not by biased leeds fans but by the professional football world.

Agree0 Disagree0

He had bale in his pocket. enough said.

Not relates to leeds but because I don't rate this player. Rooney considers himself a striker. Just as a matter of interest can somebody tell me who out of rooney and lampard has scired more goals in the last 5-10 years. i'd take lamparrd any day. Rooney is so overrated its unbelievable.

Probably scored more than fans favourite dross mac!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree mCcormac is not a striker either as he likes to think he is, and overrated

Agree0 Disagree0

Went to plenty of games last season and I haven't a bad word for Ross. Behind Paul Ince he had the highest amount of assists in the league. Very confidant on the ball and doesn't panic in my opinion he is underrated

Food for thought more than an actual rumour.

Would it be possible that IF Reece Wabara signs from City we have an agreement in place that if we don't get promoted next season then City are first in the queue for the signing on Sam Byram?

Just something that crossed my mind more than anything else, as we all know Byram is not going this transfer window, the lad has said it & McD has said it themselves. What sort of relationship would that be if McD says he's not going then the club sell.

MOT SussexLeeds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thought Reece Wabara was out of contract soon so its nowt to do with man city who he signs for

So Humphrey has signed for Preston. Before we see all the "another target missed " comments, he was never a target in the first place, bmac is going for much better players! Keep the faith.

think folk on here play far too much fifa. let's hope brian will get some gems like Austin, who was never mentioned anywhere until signed, and i'm sorry ed13 if you that great, why you not scouting for us, or taking over harveys job, because someone needs to. just give me something look forward too this season, I hope still not feeling same old cr*p next season. MOT {Ed013's Note - Unfortunately I have many commitments, but scouting is not one of them at the minute}

Brian Mac has enquired into the availability of David Perkins and David Bentley.

Mr Brown has been offered a player coach role which he's considering.

Paddy Kenny will be leaving this season, apparently Brian Mac will have Ashdown as number one with Cairns number 2

Brian Mac has been scouting David Templeton form Rangers whom he's interested in.
