What on earth is this thing with Adkins, he had a lucky run with Southmpton same as Lambert with Norwich, For gods sake we wanted Adie Boothroyd a couple of years ago & what's he done since Watford, Neil Warnock is proven, done it so many times with clubs, might not be the prettiest football you've ever seen but he'll get us back to where we belong if he get's the backing.

Believable10 Unbelievable15

Hes already said he's off at the end of this season. . . forget it. . this seasons gone. . warnock will go. . . another season of mediocrity to come. . we was once a big club. . a great club. . but so many people and things have done us. . who knows one day we might fight our way back but not until someone starts putting money in. . that's the reality now. .

warnock will stay and sign for another year if he feels he could get promoted next season.

Agree2 Disagree3

"warnock will stay and sign for another year if he feels he could get promoted next season. "

That means he doesn't get us promoted this season then?

So we should keep paying Warnock for 'failure' then?

Agree0 Disagree1

How can you call back to back promotions "a lucky run"? Wish we had such luck.

Agree3 Disagree0

Hope warnock doesn't stay for another year, his football the last year has resulted in the crowds being so low.

Fed up of the people on here coming up with boring excuses to why they aren't attending games. . can't afford to go is a very good reason and is understandable.

But all the. .

"I'm not going because of bates"
"I'm not going until Warnock is gone"
"I'm not going until all of warnocks signings and old cronies have left"

It's all boring and ridiculous, you aren't true fans! You should support the club what ever manager what ever players what ever division.

At the end of the day they all want 3 points on a match day and they are wearing the famous white shirt! You should support them if you love Leeds so much!

Love Leeds more than hating something!

I'm Leeds and Proud

I will continue to March on Together with the fans who follow me through te turnstiles week in week out!

Believable28 Unbelievable1

Couldnt agree more pal

Agree16 Disagree2

People might not like bates, people might not like warnock's playing style and people might not like the signings. so what, everyone has an opinion and a reason. Do want an award for going to a match every other week?
well done for going to the matches and I respect that but think about the cost, you pay good money and nothing if not little in return, people want to see value for money and ambition.

at the end of the day leeds united were ripping there fans off.
if someone did that to you, you wouldn't just keep giving them money.
its all about the trust between the club and fans.

Agree6 Disagree2

I do pay my money every week, and I travel a 10 hour round trip for a home game! Win Lose or draw I live for my football days, every Saturday watching Leeds, travelling all round the country with our army of fans taking over cities with our support! Supporting Leeds is more than just 3 points! It's a religion, it's addictive. . . AND I FOOKING LOVE IT!

Can I just ask you if you have a mortgage, and a wife and kids to support?

Agree0 Disagree1

Great post bud, the negativity and utter crap spouted on here is ridiculous, if you support Leeds you go to matches if you can afford it, simple as that.

Agree3 Disagree0

Nope don't have kids or a wife, have a long distance relationship so have to pay £85 quid every time I see her so that's a lot of money, I have bills too pay also such as rent and phone bill etc, at the end of the day the question you asked about having a wife mortgage and kids is irrelevant, like I said in the first post. . if you can't afford it that's fair enough!

Agree3 Disagree0

"at the end of the day the question you asked about having a wife mortgage and kids is irrelevant"

No it isn't, when you have a wife and kids and you work away all week, the last thing they want/need is for you to be selfish and shoot off all over the country every weekend?

If you don't have ties fair enough, I was just pointing out that it's not just down to the mortgage or finanacial side that prevents some of us following Leeds EVERY week.

6th place in the championship has been attained in the last five years as folllows;
2011/12 75pts
2010/11 75pts
2009/10 70pts
2008/09 74pts
2007/08 70pts

In the 2009/10 seson 5th place was on 76 points so realistically to reach the play offs we will probably need 75 which means we need 34 points from the remaining 17 games, having achieved 41 points from 29 games. If we maintain the same average points per game over the rest of the season we will finish with 65 points so to have any chance a huge improvement is required. I feel we will fall just short. However with some meaningful investment during the January window we could have been in a position to realistically challenge. Missed opportunity in my opinion which shows a clear lack of ambition and direction on the part of the 'new' owners.

all we are missing is 2 proper wingers which the emergency window opens soon. I would also sign louis saha if he's still available.

6 points out of the last play off spot with 6 teams between us and that spot. And 10 points out of 5th.

Face it lads, we are stuffed for this season and would be doubly stuffed if by miraculous circumstances we got promoted for next season.

Going up and then bouncing back down would leave us with another 10 years in the wilderness as the price of a Premier League whipping in 2013/2014.

To calibrate the expectation, what was our most prolific scoring player is at best a bench warmer for an EPL Tier II East Anglia FFS team.

What we got in exchange was an OK Championship player and enough cash to cover the difference in quality between the two.

Will need to see a run of 6 or more games to even start to think otherwise. not just home games neither.

Forget the nonsense for this year. See it for what it is, another year of building.

Much better to make it into the EPL in strong condition in 2014/2015. Europe in 2016/2017

Reality, dudes, reality.

Believable8 Unbelievable7

Europe in 2016 is no reality

Agree5 Disagree0

One year of a Premier league whipping as you put it may be the best thing for us!

It would guarentee three years of parachute payments which would be more investment than Uncle Ken managed in all his tenure.

Norwich striker Grant Holt is aware of the growing contingent of former Leeds players at Carrow Road - but he does not expect anyone to complain about their quality. A post that had popped up today, has he only just noticed? haha let's hope its doesn't turn in to 5 players any time soon.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

This is a nice way of saying we became a feeder club. It's embarrassing. We have to spend big and well in the summer or I predict bad times for Leeds fans.

Agree2 Disagree3

Your wish shall be granted soon, mark my words well.
i will remind you all in the coming weeks and months.

Agree1 Disagree2

I actually thought it was a clever way of challenging wether Becs has the quality at that level, but at the same time trying to sound like a team player.

NickLS26

Agree3 Disagree0

Look how mch QPR have spent, and they're still bottom of the league, its not just about money, its about having the right manager and giving him time, sadly fans now call for managers heads after a poor run of form, its crazy.

Agree0 Disagree1

Warnock bought most of that team. What does that tell us?
MOT.

Agree0 Disagree4

Think you will find that mark hughes brought in most of them players not warnock.

Wouldn't put it past Forest to have sacked McLeish in order to land Adkins because they'll have been made aware Leeds were sniffing. We should appoint Adkins now to make sure we get him.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Dear oh dear, some of you guys have a conspiracy theory for every event, why come up with such tosh.

Agree8 Disagree5

Conspiracy theory? That case the entire planet is engulfed by such. It's called management strategy. How can forest get Adkins if we get him? Doh!

Agree5 Disagree4

Adkins is a good manager, I would prefer Poyet, Zola. Would be hilarious if we got Chris Houghton from Naarrrwetch : )

Agree2 Disagree0

In reply to the doh boy, so all clubs contrive to get rid of their managers when a decent one becomes available?get a grip, Mcleish resigned on a matter of principle, was not constructive dismissal, just Forest owners going back on their word.

Agree0 Disagree0

And why did forest owners go back on their word? Adkins availability perhaps? Not wanting their current manager to spend millions when they can have a better manager come in soon. Sound familiar? Don't be naive. Forest want Adkins. So do we.

im pretty sure they didn't go back on there work because atkins was available, why miss out on promotion by not signing players.

Adkins is on gardening leave until the end of the season

05 Feb 2013 14:01:53
Bad news on forest sacking there manager. Because they will probably go for adkins who I was praying would come to us at the end of the season. Also has anyone noticed every player that warnock signs he comes out with the same old tosh. And I quote ( I've been trying to sign him for years. )Which is since the years have ticked by mr warnock do you not realise they are now past there best.

Now look what you've done? "Because of all the negativity around Neil Warnock. GFH have decided to employ Alex Mcleish". The deal was done this morning between the owners of Forest and GFH. Fact! ;-))

I like to get my rumours, comment and facts from Leeds rumours, The Yorkshire Evening Post and the Leeds O/S.

The last few days however I've had problems with updating the YEP site. I've just updated it and todays news is "Nunez parts company with Whites" and that McCormack feels Varney will overcome the boo boys. Anybody else having problems or is the YEP just that far behind with the news?

Fawksey

Believable29 Unbelievable1

Yep same as me. the app is very poor. I deleted it and I just go straight to their site on safari.

Agree7 Disagree0

WOW, according to the YEP website today we've signed a guy called Habib Haribbo on loan for the rest of the season. I wish him sweet success and hope he scores a bag full of goals!
Come on YEP sort out the updating problem.
