grayson was sacked because he was useless. In our promotion season we were 11 points clear at start of jan and went up on last day about 11 points behind norwich.Last season 2nd at xmas finished outside playoffs this season outside playoffs at xmas show same form as in previous 2 seasons after xmas and we would be fighting relegation come may, that is why he had to go. for me gus poyet is the only candidate.

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Well said total truth, not to bothered about poyet though.

Agree3 Disagree4

Is that you Gus? Well you're not doing too well at Brighton considering you've had money to spend. Stay away from our club.

Agree3 Disagree1

Agree about Grayson, Not sure that Poyet is the key. To be honest, I'm not sure he ever was. Momentum and passion got us out of the 15 point deficit. When we had it all to play for, Wise was found out. I think it just happened to coincide with Poyet leaving.

Agree1 Disagree0

I wrote the original post the reason i think poyet is because when he was at leeds with wise it was him not wise who was responsible for aimost getting promoted after starting season 15 points behind, when he left wise was clueless and ended up jumping ship

Gary Megson to be next Leeds united manager

Believable0 Unbelievable15

Fully agree _ if we want to get relegated

Agree9 Disagree0

Its crazy, people just plucking names out of the air, most are ex Leeds players, been down that road too many times already,Hope Bates and his board get it right, and whoever it is we should back him 100%,its like a bitching site on here sometimes,if you dont like it FO and support Blackburn, theres loads of bitchers there.

Agree2 Disagree1

We need an experienced manager who has been there and has no links to the club, and most of all a backside kicker,33 loan players in 3 years whats that all about !

Agree2 Disagree0

Gary Megson eh?! He did wonders for... er... No, I can't think of anyone.

can i just say (anybody who knows about betting) know that people bet to make money = picking an outcast with a slight chance of winning rather than a firm favourite, because u win more money.. so whoever is favourite is probly alot less likely to get the job than somebody near the bottom, SO LETS HOPE WE GET WARNOCK! just looked at some of the managers linked to leeds there are loads i would not want ie stracken bryon robson zola di mateo to name afew the ones i would like are first paul lambert but that wont happen so to get us promoted it would be warnock he would do a job and he is passionet and vocal he would get the crowd going or di canio they would respect him and he is doing a great job at swindon turning them from a crap side to champions in a short space of time he is aplayers man and they respect what he says because he has done it or carl robbinson looks one for the future 'what doyou think ed

I doubt redfearn will get the job, sure we won 3-0 yesterday but i reckon we'd of got a draw at best if 11 v 11. SG was sacked because were lucky to be up there in the league, and whoever comes in( prob warnock) will be backed by KB. KB lost his faith in SG, as did the players and a lot of the fans, we need someone with more tactical knowhow and better coaching staff. IMO we lost howson because of SG, he would of wanted to stay with a better manager in charge. So i think the future is bright, and i think KB realises hes gunna have to pay for a decent manager if he wants to go up and sell the club for a huge profit, just my opinions ofcourse. MOT.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

So your saying McCormack would of missed the 1 on 1 if the defender hadn't of got sent off ,or are you saying we would of lost a 2 goal lead if Mccormack scored it?

Agree3 Disagree2

Lucky? The truest cliché in football is that the table never lies. SG was sacked because Leeds fans still have this ridiculous view of our club's status. The more realistic amongst us expected to be fighting a relegation battle last season and instead we nearly reached the play-offs with our league one squad, a better squad than we have now.

Grayson was sacked for over achieving last year and not being able to keep it going for ever which is why the whole world of professional football, those really in the know, has been united in condemning the sacking. Even Bates's mate Poyet thought it was ridiculous as does every pro I've seen on telly or read about.

Agree6 Disagree5

Gary Mac provided a great insite into what it's like to manage under KB. No funds and unrealistic targets whislt you lose your best players with no reinvestment. If the goalposts don't move the incoming manager will do well to surpass SG's achievements

Agree7 Disagree3

Im the original poster. The way we been playing yeah rosso prob wudda fluffed it, and were defo capable of losing a 2-0 lead. We picked up few points cos of the fact 5 reds in 5 matches against us, the only game where it was 11 v 11 we lost. So yeah we were lucky to win 3-0.

Agree2 Disagree3

This is just typical, we have a greeat team who have provided the goods, andy you are still kicking them, despite the 3-0 win?

Agree1 Disagree0

No i dont wanna be negative, read my original post. Im just saying i wouldnt back a manager either who brought in so many flops. As soon as new person comes in we will pick up as long as it aint steve bruce. MOT.

Agree1 Disagree2

If you want to talk about lucky look at man utd. Referees are keeping them in the title race with dodgy penalties. But does anyone call them lucky? Nope, definitely not the useless Sky pundits for a start.

As far as we're concerned, ALL these recent red cards for the opposition have been deserved. Original poster is talking gibberish.

Agree3 Disagree0

Why r people slating ross? hes done nothing wrong! hes finally getting back to his early season form...are people forgetting he put the ball in the back of the next 3 times last match (shame 2 were just offside)

What a person slating our top scorer lol

on leeds website it states that there is a lot of interest in the job from coaches employed and un employed if you was a manager at say one of the smaller clubs than leeds and there is a hell of alot you would surely apply for the job at leeds whoever takes over and they get us back in the prem there going to go down in bloody leeds history they would be heroes. getting to the point i think bates might have a tough job because i think there will be some big names apply for it because of the size and potential of the club coaches from all around the world because its not very often you get to manage a big club and yes we are amasive club with a fanbase all around the world

give the job to redfern or at least till the end of the season lets see how he does next 4 games are very winable and who knows because owt could happen espeically in this league maybe playoffs?

Believable1 Unbelievable5

We could still go for second spot there are a lot ofpoints to play for you put a 8 game winning run together you never no but my glass is allways half full and not half empty

Agree3 Disagree0

We need to have made a decision by the end of the month for the good of the team, i think redfearn should be given til the end of the month in charge....if he does well and galvonises the team again why not give him it permanatly (not till the end of the season!)

Agree0 Disagree1

Dont you think we need a compleat clear out of the whole set up,new brush sweeps clean, think the squad needs someone who will sort the under achievers out and the ones who are picking up wages for doing nothing, first job transfer list all the rubbish.

I'd like to see Antic take over with Redfearn a part of his team with a view to potentially taking over when Antic retires. There are few as experienced in English football as Redfearn, few as experienced in management as Antic, great combination in my opinion.

Believable12 Unbelievable2

Thats agood post get someone in to teach redfern for the future as long as he does get us playing well he might fail thats the pressure of getting the eright man look at the chelsea boss he is struglling with money

Marcello Trotta. Loan till end of season.
Could be exactly what we need to partner Ross while Becchio regains his form and Somma regains his fitness.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Would be well worth a try with his strike rate but are emergency loans allowed now and as we have no manager who would decide to sign him

Agree5 Disagree0

Same person who decided all other loans kb

Its official LUFCs next manager will be someone that will cost nothing!! Leeds have a decent championship (nearly) team that will not go down & may just make the playoffs. All the managers mentioned that are reportedly going to take over from SG are of good quality, unfortunately quality costs money.
Step forward Mr Neil Redfearn. Good luck Neil, you’re going to need it mate. Love Leeds – Bates out!!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I suspect it will be Lee Clark if Huddersfield allow talks and don't price him out, compensation wise.
The more he's asked to rule himself out, the more he seems to be putting himself in the frame talking as if he's answering at a job interview.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's actually applied.

Agree0 Disagree3

05 Feb 2012 11:58:43
is there somthing else they are not telling us down at elland rd, seems its them and us, i watched the championship last night and they said leeds refused to talk to them, its all very cloak and dagger, it seems theres either somthing really big going to happen or absolutly nothing, i cant understand why grayson was sacked, we still wouldve won down at bristol and still be in same position, just behind the play offs, and really i dont think anyone at all on here has insider knowledge, we are all guessing....

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Agree, Grayson should still be with us. For me, I'd rather have him than anyone on the list of bookies' favourites for the job.

Agree3 Disagree4

We don't talk to the bbc cos of the documentary they did about our ownership. It's been like that all season.

Agree0 Disagree0

The situation is that the BBC is banned from covering Leeds on all none contractually obligated coverage. The situation between Leeds Utd and the BBC has become more strained with the continued investigation into the Bates ownership by the BBC.

Since the BBC documentary last year there has been a House of Commons select committee for culture, media and sport inquiry into the running of football, in particularly Leeds United. This took place in December as has infuriated Bates the results of which have not been announced.

This follows the BBC and Guardians previous coverage into the transparency of Leeds Utd ownership and new Premier League legislation in which any person who owns more than 10% on a club must be known which forced Ken Bates to announce that he had purchased Leeds in full.

The BBC & Guardian appear to hold a vendetta against Leeds United and Ken Bates in particular. The Yorkshire radio deal may have something to do with this. The BBC are pushing for the Premier league to stop any future TV revenue money going to Leeds and should Leeds win promotion banning from the premier league.

Then the sacking of Simon Grayson brought more exaggerated critics and allowing the Bates Out campaigners a platform on local news and radio stations has also angered Bates.

Given all said Leeds Utd are at preliminary take over talks with a Australasian Consortium, so you can understand Leeds Banning the BBC and not wishing to talk to them.

Agree2 Disagree2

You might call it a vendetta - I prefer 'search for the truth'. The News Of The World didn't much like the Guardian investigating their affairs either as I recall.

A lot of us suspect dodgy dealings at Leeds, especially with the mysterious issue of one of the creditors offering to write off a large loan if Bates remained as chairman. That is, to say the least, a very unusual offer.

As a business owner myself I've attended more than my share of administration/liquidation meetings and was once the victim of what is commonly called a 'pre-pack' administration, where the business is sold as pre-arranged for a sum very close to the administrator's fees, usually to the same people who put it into administration. I lost £60k owed to me by a private healthcare provider which very nearly sent my business under so I know what LUFC's small business creditors, the sub-contracted caterers etc., went through. LUFC's administration was unusual in many respects and, despite being a lifelong 50 year old fan, I fully understand why it is of serious interest to investigative journalist.

If Bates has nothing to hide why has he put so much effort into hiding it through a web of offshore companies? And please don't say tax. Tax is easily minimised without having to do that if you have a smart accountant.

Agree2 Disagree3

You don't hide corporation tax by having a good tax man,if you do you would end up like Redknapp in court on Tax Evasion Charges, hence the offshore accounts, bates living as a tax excile and nobody knowing just how much he is worth or anything about his financies

lloyd sam
micheal brown
aidy white
adam clayton
mika vayrynen
mikael forssell
maik taylor}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Clayton contracted until 2013

Agree2 Disagree0

Forsell, Varynen, Brown, & Sam all have automatic options to extend there contracts.

Clayton contracted to 2013.

That only leaves White and Maik Taylor. I would want to keep White even though he has been poor defensively this season. However Taylor bye bye. {Ed020's Note - i was'nt too sure about clayton lol.}

Where can you find the latest manager odds? I looked on will hill but can't find them there?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Oddschecker MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

Strange. I looked on William Hill this morning.
Dave Jones was favourite followed by Lee Clark (who continues to skirt around questions relating to the role and avoid ruling himself out - in fact he sometimes sounds like he's applying) and then Colin (Warnock)
I think they haven't got a clue just like us.
Can't remember any other manager role where the favourite keeps changing like this.

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope we dont get jones he is a tosser, we have to get warnock to get back up there!!! once that happens someone will buy us an lift off, but need to get promoted to stop all this bates crap! so he can sell

Agree2 Disagree1

Favourites Keep changing as it's based just on money outlaid and nothing to do with inside information, who's been interviewed, short listed, or applied we'll find out more next week.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes - the betting merry go round - just horseshjte and tip offs - several being interviewed - got to = be Warnock for the post - if he comes back and accepts a lower offer- he turned down the first one

Neil Redfearn didn't do his chances any harm yesterday, seems to have support from within the Club. No compensation would be payable which is always a factor at our Club and at 8-1 at the bookies worth a few quid?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

05 Feb 2012 10:48:08
dont rule out lee clark taking the job. leeds are in touching distance of the play offs. so even if papa smurf coninues to spend zero on players he'll see this as a shot of premier league management.. watch his body language on post match interview last night - totally non committal when asked. I think hes got to be considered. He'll get discipline out of an essentially good team, and be more immediate impact than warnock.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

He's had nearly three years to get promoted at Town and failed - Grayson managed it in his first full season. Why would we want him?

05 Feb 2012 10:28:01
great win away from home went to game and should feel happy,but yet again its all about bates out you so called fans are like an infection spreading through our great club,support the 11 on the pitch bates will go when bates wants not because people sing for him to go {i want him out too but dont think negative singing helps the team}

Believable6 Unbelievable3

05 Feb 2012 02:12:46
Maybe not having a permanent manager for a bit will do us the world of good? I mean goals, a clean sheet and a win is not a bad start. I say think about keeping Redfearn til the end of the season. Real test will be his home form. Get that right and why change with say a dozen matches left to go?
