Any fancy Stephen Dobbie on loan? Not in Palaces 25 man squad for premier league. Did well on loan at Blackpool last year and always scores goals.

Think if we couldn't get a winger he would be good as it would push Ross up front as Dobbie plays that role v well

Agree0 Disagree0

Dobbie is a terrible player, all the brighton fans I know thought he was completely useless. He played against us last season and was dreadful, he's slow and misses easy chances. He very rarely did anything lat season for palace and holloway only signed him because of his ties with Blackpool he signed other not wanted Blackpool players and a a result they will probably go down

Dobbie is a no go

I like to see a good away crowd at Elland Road, It enhances the atmosphere, But charging BURNLEY fans of which I wouldn't say is one of the highest paying areas in the country, £34 Adults. £23 kids is an absolute disgrace.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Correct. Not surprised Weds & Qpr brought such poor away crowds. Live tv & overpriced tickets. doesn't make sense! Burnley should be cat C.

Agree0 Disagree0

Less than we paid to go to Ipswich

Agree0 Disagree0

Still doesn't make it right, £23 for kids?

Agree0 Disagree0

I paid a tenner for my son.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree totally. Five of us coming over from Dublin for the Burnley game and were charged €210 for the five match tickets (€42 each). I can see why the crowds are down.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree the ticket prices at Leeds are ridiculous, so much so that I emailed the club yesterday. However we are charging our own fans £34 for the West Stand so why shouldn't we charge Burnley the same?

think a lot of us seem to forget that byram will be back soon and diouf isn't at full fitness these are 2 of our most influential players we have along with mccormack and yet we are still picking up the points without them if we can get a decent winger on loan along with a striker e.g billy sharp then i'd say that would carry us through till january at least by then we surely be getting some investment from somewhere and if I win the euro lotto in the time being ill trough a few bob in as well may even by the club who knows lol

I have to agree with some of the previous posts advocating that we take the patient route. I always knew that whoever took over the club would have a tough time getting rid of the stench of the Bates era.
I'm convinced that further investment will arrive fairly soon, not mega money, but solid enough. GFH have done well so far, despite deadline day passing with no additions to the squad, they are living within their means and a viable LUFC is what we all want. Please no returning to the Ridsdale era.
Maybe a loan signing or two with a view to buy in January is not a bad strategy. Tommy Rowe and Chris Burke are out of contract at the end of the season, two wide men who would bolster our attack perhaps with Billy Sharpe.
BMD has done wonders with the team already, tough to beat and more motivated, just needs one or two more.
Whatever happens, stick with BMD and GFH we are a work in progress. MOT Ron.

I really think that with Sam Byram on his way back to full fitness that Leeds should sign on emergency loan, Billy Sharp. He has hit double figures in each of his last four seasons and Leeds really need someone to hit the net on a regular basis, we should not worry about a 29 year old winger when the like of this guy is up for grabs. He is reported to be on £15 grand a week at the moment and I really think it would be worth that until January then either take him on permanently or extend his loan until the end of the season, this is the type of player we should be signing next we have enough that can feed him his chances with the likes of Diouff, McCormack, Byram who would give us that width if played further forward and leave peltier at right back even Varney would benefit from this man taking players away from him to give him that little extra time to deliver his crosses and of course they can all contribute there fare share of goals, even, Hunt would probably blossom with his work rate and Sharps pace, This is the striker we need and quickly if we are serious about challenging for promotion.

Kenny, Peltier Wootton Pearce Warnock
Byram Austin Murphy Varney
Sharp and McCormack would not be a bad team with Tonge Green Hunt smith Poleon Lees Ashdown as subs.

Just a thought. white4ever

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What about diouf!

Agree0 Disagree0

True Diouff could be part of the team or on the bench to give us that extra quality as and when we need it, don't know if he would be able to carry a full 90 mins at the moment though as I said just a thought it can be tweaked if needed, lol as if I was the manager but either way that set up looks a better balance than at the moment with or without Diouff.

I know there are you gfh lovers out there but I am keeping an open mind on them, these guys have come over here with not even a pot to piss in and have not got a clue about English football, I mean David haigh supported the probably still does but not going to say it.they bring a chairman in noooorudin is that how you pronounce it, first thing he tells us is his sons know about English football, one supports man utd, the other Chelsea and I thought he said they knew about football.think about it if you wanted to invest in an English football club you want to make sure your investment is in good hands and you have got to question if it would be at Leeds, this prince if rumours have it looked at Leeds but there was a reason he chose sheff utd could it be the knowledge and experience that the board bring and you know your investment is in better hands than it would be with these in experienced bankers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You forgot to tag your name fergie, what a load of negative tosh.

The prince was trying to buy leeds for as low a price as possible and GFH wouldn't let him he tried the same with Sheffield that's why it took a while for the deal to go through he may be rich but he sounds a tight git!

Quote from McDermott in YP regarding transfer of White to Barnsley: "We had a deal for a player to go out on loan. He didn't want to go and that's fair enough, no problem. I had no problem with that as he wants to fight for his place; he's been here a long time." Fair play to Brian for giving players a fair crack of the whip however to move the deadwood in the squad on (yes I count White as deadwood as he has not made the league matchday squad for the past 3 games) you sometimes have to show them the door or they will be content sat on their backsides earning up to £10K per week

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fairplay to brian? he's doing well but the one MASSIVE let down is he allows players to ''fight for their place'' and gives them hope when really he has no intention of playing them. thts the reason non of them have being sold because they all feel they have a chance so have no intention of leaving leeds and their hefty wages

Agree0 Disagree0

So basically you agree with me

I have seen rumours that some posters think we may go back in for Burke, hears how I read it .i don't think Brian was 100% sure on Burke it may have been the owners who want to appease the fans let Brian no, Burke was available at 600k I don't think he was high on Brian's list off winger targets. Hears why he's not getting into Brum side all the time. And the last time I saw him play he didn't look as quick
across the ground, not the same player who destroyed us at ER for Cardiff or Brum when he even managed to make Zigic look a world beater that day, I can see us waiting till October then take a player on loan with a view to a perm transfer a younger player. I do think Matt smith would have thrived off Burkes dilivery into box though

Just been reading through the site as been away for a couple of weeks and two bits of info caught my eye. One was about the investment that didn't come in due to a paperwork balls up and also a question asking about the Red Bull money. I can partially clear this up, the accounting firm working on the investment deal (from Red Bull) was the company I work for and due to the actions of an intern, he shredded a set of papers that he should have been sending on to the other firms working on the deal this caused a delay when it was realised this was missing. Obviously after a balls up of this magnitude my company has been removed from the deal and another one has taken our place (and the intern has been sacked but that didn't really need saying), but as far as I know the Red Bull deal is still going to happen just going to take a couple more weeks as everything is finalised between the different parties involved (not as big a rush to get this sorted as the transfer window has been missed). The deal as I heard it, I wasn't working on it directly, was for money to be spent on the team and naming rights for the stadium but nothing to do with renaming the team, too many obstacles in the way of that.

bit shocked McDermott didn't want to pay 600grand for burke I personally think he's pretty good bit gutted about that tbh

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree to some extent mate but BMD's reasons are justified - he's coming up to 30 and a freebie soon - over half a million quid is a bit steep because of these reasons. Half that figure and I would of been happy but there must be wiser options for 600k or slightly more - he's hardly investment for the future material.

MOT!

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't want to or wasn't able to? BIG difference my friend and people seem to forget if there isn't money in the pot he can't buy people

al1977

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, we do need someone on the wings. Even though he is 30 he is still very fast and he has a good cross, 600k is not a lot of money at all for an experienced quality midfielder. Hopfully we can get him on loan that would be very shrewd by McDermott as then we could spend that 600k in January

I have just seen Brad Fridel in sheff town centre with what could have been his agent, near to blunts ground, I no that window closed but may have had his contract terminated by consent. Not saying nailed on but it's worth a silly few quid
