Signing Pontus may create a problem for us during the summer, especially if we fail to gain promotion. He will be in great demand from a high spending Premier Club, especially if MC only gives him a two year contract. The only thing that is missing from his game is a goal - and when he scores at ER the noise from the crowd will blow the roof off! I cannot wait to see that!

Its actually a pretty good problem when you think about it though. Either a) He signs, we go up, he stays, all good, b) He signs, we don't go up, he still stays, not quite as good but could be worse, c) He signs, we stay down, we get a health return on investment, sad if he leaves but a couple of million in profit is hardly the worst outcome of all time.
Would rather have him a short while and make a profit than not have him at all, though I'd obviously rather keep him.

I could think of worse situations to be in with the magic hat man. Agree with Gummie, pretty good problem. I do hope MC offers him more than 2 years and hope he doesn't 'do a Bamba'.
Maybe 2 years min with a performance related option to add extra years on.

Why? Even bother to comment on these pessimistic scrap posts. Enjoy the terrific play from Pontus Jansson instead. Watch the replays on LUTV. Even better. Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring. Not even MC. MOT.

There is no problem we sign a good player and your worry is what will happen in 3 years time. Are you saying we should just sign average players because they won't leave us. That's like turning down a date with Michelle Keegan and going out with the large woman from the chippy, just because you think she'll be more loyal.

Deda, that's not a very good analogy.
I mean free chips! Mmm. 😉.

With hindsight it was a good job that we got O'kane when we did, goes to show it makes sense to get a player if better than you have even if you have numbers in that position.

He will be a bit of an un-sung hero in the team the way he is playing.

Just imagine punters a back six of a fit Berardi, a re-motivated (? ) Taylor, the Giant Swed, Bartley, Bridcutt and O'Kane.

IMO that is as strong a defensive 6 unit as anyone else in the league with Phillips also starting to look good. At the start of the season not many of us would have believed that!

Just hope no-one else gets injured before xmas and it could well be good times here we come.

Acquisition of Okane a masterstroke. Makes everything and everyone else work better.

Been saying about the quality if signings Brid, Bark, PH and O'kane all played championship or higher.
And I'm nor suggesting we go back to being has-beens corner but when you sign or loan players like this you have faith that they can cut the mustard .
For my liking we have rushed into far to many signings of unknowns who have proved under par .
Instead of eleven players signing four or five quality players looking forward, I believe will take us forward.
When you look at the clubs in the mix, they sign players performing for other champ clubs or prem players struggling to get a 1st team spot .

Said it when O Kane was first mentioned that he would give us a bit of bite in midfield that we have been badly lacking and like has been said will be an unsung hero for us this season.

Just looked at an old poster of the 70/ 71 squad.
Among the outfield players there are 12 names that are Leeds legends . My question to you all is out of these 12 names which 2 would you leave out/ have on the subs bench. They are Yorath, Jones Charlton, Clark, Hunter, Gray Madely, Reeney, Cooper, Lorimer, Giles and Bremner.

Marley and Yorath for me George, Madely purely because of his versatility he could come on in any position as a sub.

PA

Madeley was a supremely gifted defender, header of the ball and footballer. He starts in my team.

Madeley and Yorath for me, but I'd love to return to the days when that was our dilemma, oh yes, and when I was 18 😢😢.

I wasn't born then (ahem) but seen all the footage, great team . Eddie Gray looked as though he was as good as Best on his day .

Reany and Cooper were the best fullbacks in the league.
