So will the takeover happen, I hope so but it does seem to be taking a long time. If the price is agreed is it just a date to make it happen and a signature.

Does anyone benefit from this long process, (Lawyers yes) but consider this....

Would Bates.... put us all through this but have the intention of not selling... how many fans have relented on the "Bates OUT" and renewed memberships, bought the shirt etc.

So how much would he receive from a full ER (against Chelsea) plus Sky TV coverage etc. (£x million)

So my belief is as follows the Takeover will not happen as Bates wont sign, he never had any intention but knew the passionate Leeds fans would renew memberships etc if we thought he was selling.

How many £ millions has he made since August ?
Watch this space......and we would never know about the Takeover if it falls through due to the confidentiality clause....(probably put in place by Bates)

Bates will sign, for the sake of one cup game, where he might get 25-30k fans, he will have to endure the games in between, where we are struggling to get over 22k on a wknd and 17k on a Tuesday. In short there are roughly 10-15k fans staying away till he leaves. I don't think there have been mass renewals of membership I'd say the opposite, plus reduced shirt sales. The fact is, he's run out of money for investment in the playing squad, no bank will lend to him, and he's leveraged two seasons worth of season ticket money on the East Stand development. In basic terms he has to sell. Do I think he will & has drag out the process, and try to squeeze every extra pound from the deal, of course. But GFH now have to show some desire and in fact capability to close the deal, or we face a mass exodus of loyal fans, no January investment and a serious risk of falling back into League One based on the current small squad available.

Agree11 Disagree1

The crowds are pitiful at the moment and if the take over falls through bates knows full well they will decrease even further very rapidly.
ken knows its in his best interest to sell he's not going to invest so we will be a lower table championship club at best and in the lower table he wont get better than the offer thats on the table at the minute... what people need to realise is we might have a big history and a worldwide following but we are but a shadow of the club we once was and without investment the future is very bleak

People are staying away because they can't afford to go. That will not change whoever owns the club.

Agree1 Disagree6

Too true my friend ,personally speaking the longer u go without investing in quality players the longer it will take to get our place back on the top table of football,i also believe the academy players coming through would have thrived playing with better quality established players. Unfortunately it goes hand in hand. Mrc1919.

"People are staying away because they can't afford to go. That will not change whoever owns the club."

I can afford to go to the games - even if it does cost me almost £100 a time with transport and ticket costs - but why should I spend that much money just to put a few quid in Bates's back pocket and see very little (in fact none) investment into our club?

No mate, I AM staying away because of Bates, not through financial hardship, though I do have sympathy for those that CANNOT afford to go - again the price of tickets needs lowering considerably to offset - that - ain't gonna happen under Bates, he seems to prefer having a half empty ground with high prices rather than a totally full ground with 50% lower ticket prices.....

People are not going because of the expense and the unpredictability of our results im from London and go to as many games as possible and it costs nearly £300 each time ncluding travel I know a lot of Leeds fans would not go to games if their not doing and spend loads of money to go to poor performances

No matter how bad or good our results and performances, providing we are within 5 points of the play offs throughout the whole season, the (hopeful) cash injection in january will give us the players that we need to help us go on that unbeaten run we will need at the end of the season to surge into the play offs. Believable4 Unbelievable6

Yeah, but the whole point is if we keep playing like that then we won't be within 5 points of the playoffs. That's kind of how it works, eventually points will reflect performance and our performances have been sh*t!

Agree13 Disagree1

If we are 5 points off the play offs for the whole season then we won't get promoted - i'm going out on a limb here

TOMA! I reckon David Haigh will have that tattooed on his arm when he was asking fir tatt ideas on twitter weeks ago. Wonder what Salem Patel will get? 7 nearly 8 months of talks going on between these guys and Leeds, just horrendously pathetic and amateurish from start to none seeing finish! As for BatesOut.. He'll only leave when these persons finally pay the money and prove they can continue to fund the club in the future, and not before. I'd be the same. Just a shame Bates hadn't funded the squad for this season, but hey, expected to have sold the club months ago. I wants bates out more than the next man, but imagine him selling us to dreamers, worse than Ridsdale! MOT

Its a farce that's what it is m8 another bleeding farce us Leeds fans av to endure

Bates isn't doin this for the clubs safety. I carn't believe people still think Bates is looking out for LUFC. He does not give a cr=p about what we want, if he did we would have a squad that a club of are size should have. Instead we watch are squad get smaller and smaller. Bates has done nothing more than destroy the heart of the club for his own greedy gain. Bates and a leech go hand in hand.

So wot did you see that I didn't only disgraceful ???

Agree4 Disagree2

Must agree with you brother, anybody else think peltier is a terrible choice to be captain.? No pace ,no leadership qualities and certainly less desire than some others I could mention. Mrc1919.

Agree14 Disagree2

For once someone seeing what I'm seeing. Everyone else... OPEN YOUR EYES!

Agree9 Disagree3

Absolutely agree. Nothing happening from the middle of the park. Only Byram looked like he was the only one up for it. Good job Kenny was at least awake at the end. They all need to up their games.

Agree11 Disagree2

Totally, we played horrendously, if NW thinks that was a sufficient performance then maybe he'd be better coaching a league 2 team.

Agree8 Disagree2

WE are a poor side, but we are a team that keeps battling. Brown is too slow and Peltier is not a confident player. Thought he was a good signing but i now see why Leicester let him go. Pearce for captain IMO

Agree9 Disagree1

I dont care about performances as long as we dont LOSE games, which is what were not doing often, so i cant have many complaints, idve taken this league position when we announced our squad, ITS A MARATHON NOT A SPRINT!

Agree5 Disagree1

Being from Brighton it pains me to sit through a performance that bad, however Peltier should not be used as a scape goat, yeah he was awful at Left back, continuously being caught out, but he isn't a left back, Warnock probably asked him to do a job there and as captain felt he had to fill the gap. Once however Danny Pugh come on and Peltier reverted to Centre Back he put in a much better performance, I don't know how many blocks he made, and we looked a lot more solid than in the first half with Lees and Pearce together. We must all remember though these guys although being paid healthy wages have had a busy week compared with Brighton, and looked very lethargic, it doesn't matter how much money you earn if your playing 3 games within 7 days of each other you are going to be feeling it, all in all our SQUAD is not big enough and we need players in sharpish instead of slagging the ones off we have got in already! I just seriously don't understand why (or even how?) Brown is in our team, let alone on the pitch? He is a total disgrace to the rest of the team, okay we have a 'dirty Leeds' name, but Brown is just so obvious and I am amazed he was still on the pitch at the start of the second half?

It won't be long before he gets himself sent off and then Leeds will have even more to do with 10 men on the pitch? Okay he might have scored a goal (credited to Becchio) but that is no reason to keep him on the pitch. The sooner we get rid, the better.

He isn't 'hard' he's just dirty and cynical!

Reports today tell us that GFH Capital and Leeds United chairman Ken Bates have since the start of October, been viewing many things through a nice pair of bird watchers binoculars!

This has had a dramatic impact on many key decisions between the two, including the fact both parties thought the ever nearing takeover of Leeds United was " very close" and " reaching its conclusion".

Both parties have come out in an interview this morning. GFH Capitals deputy chief executive David Haigh said,

"We were in Monaco with Mr Bates trying to sort out some of the paper work when Mr Bates thought it would be a great idea to go bird watching. Therefore we took a set of bird watching binoculars with us..."

Leeds United chairman Ken Bates then expressed,

" They were two sets of nice bird watchers binoculars I had bought for £1 million each using the money from the sale of Robert Snodgrass." He then continued... " They were also fitted to the head for a hands-free capability. They were so comfortable that we both, quite foolishly, forgot to remove them."

As we now know this vital information we can conclude that the takeover is infact at least 6 months away and that Mr Bates and Mr Haigh are actually only just into the paper work.

After many statements to the Leeds United supporters claiming it was "very close", it was infact very far away. GFH and Mr Bates have killed a bubbling atmosphere that was started by the statements however Mr Bates states that he 'Isn't bothered' and 'The fans are inpatient morons..."

P.s I am not anti bates neither am I very doubt full of the takeover, but at the moment I wouldn't be surprised if that was a real report because it sure ain't close as far as we can tell!!

Getting the view that gfh are chancers. THey have been touting lufc prospectuses around the money men in the gulf for $1.5mill each. Sounds like they are trying to raise funds, without much sucess.

Will have to wait for the next "knight in shining armour" to rid usw of the tax dodger.
