Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

Think the loan signings of both Wickham and Butland and more supposedly in the pipe lines can put the rumours that we're in financial turmoil to bed. They're clearly unfounded and just malicious gossip.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I know i'm going to get slated for this but here goes.
Wickham and Butland show intent but won't cost us that much in the grand scheme of things, it gives us fans some hope that we are serious about a playoff place.

What would happen if the management said we are content for a mid table position this season with a vue to building for next season in the summer. The crowds of 25k plus would drop to maybe 15k and at 20quid a ticket it would cost the management 200K plus per home game. A good bit of business if you ask me good players both of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course we in financial trouble. Cellino is funding virtually everything. Without his TO approval, we will owe him a lot of money money we don't have. With him, we have a great shot at the PL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leicester City reported loss £34m last financial year and don't anticipate problems meeting FFP requirements.
Makes our predicted £11m loss look quite good!
Cellino is supporting Club because GFH don't want to rather than can't!

And while I'm at it I'll stick my neck out and say our central defenders are, will be fine, they will gain confidence from having a more commanding goalie and with a better midfield offering more protection will naturally have less to do, more confidence and less to do equals less goals against. Another problem with Stewart is he is lightweight in the tackle and does lose a lot of balls this means we do need a solid left back probably holding his position more than we would like, ideally a more attacking left back but with Stewart I don't think this would be possible

As I hoped a younger left back, more quality in midfield, if we can just get the two wide men, you know who, maybe if we are lucky to actually try running at there opposing left and right backs and fingers crossed delivering some crosses would be good, surely any wingers objective must be to give the full backs a torrid time and I don't mean our own

BRIAN hinting at possible permanent signings of Butland and Wickham today stating he only wants to bring in loans that we could make permanent. Would be quality imo if we start summer off by signing those two.

On a talk radio station it has been said the FL are looking at imposing much stricter sanctions on numbers of foreign players in matchday squads and having to include at least 2 under 21 players.

How will this effect our promotion hopes next season?

My question is- If Cellino owns Cagalari then he obviously pays the player wages so could he bring players in for free in the summer eg. Adryan or would he have to pay transfer fees. Wouldn't that mean he's just paying himself tho?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes, I suppose that he could but if he asset strips Cagalari how can he sell it for a decent price?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh that makes most sense. Been nagging me for ages that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Adryan ain't even a Cagliari player, he is on loan their from a Brazilian side. We'll likely sign the out of contract ones i.e Avelar

Agree0 Disagree0

I kinda hope we get these players but kinda hope we dont, if in 10 years he decides to sell us and takes all our best players it'll be karma which wouldn't be nice

Agree0 Disagree0

You would also have to take into consideration if the player would want to play in championship as they are currently playing top flight football.

Could the delay with the takeover now be due to a combination of GHF and the International Investment Bank failing the FL FPPT? Eleonora Sports are contracted to buy 75% of the shares, but the remaining 25% stays with The International Investment Bank (IIB) 12%, GFH 10% and Noorruddin3%. The handling of LUFC finances since GFH took control has been a shambles, living had to mouth by a combination of loans from Bates and Enterprise, gate receipts and just not paying the bills or staff wages! If the takeover is approved, GHF and the International Investment Bank will each own 10% or over of the total shares, does this mean that they have to pass the FPPT again as owners? Now the FL have looked at the books they can see the total lack of investment from GHF and the IIB since the take over last year, and can see that they do not have the funds in place to run the club. Is this one of the reasons that Massimo paid off Enterprise last week, even though the debt was nothing to do with him? But now all the other local suppliers who are owed money will want to be paid, plus the company who stopped work at TA over non-payment for making the new all-weather pitch. If the FL say that GFH and the IIB pass the FPPT, even with the financial chaos behind them, could they be sued by the debtors of GFH for allowing them to keep some control over the club and breaking their own FL ownership rules? As far as I can see Eleonora Sports are funded by the Cellino family wealth, and Massimo will only own 9.5% of the total shares, so they should walk the FPPT, maybe this has already been intimated to them by the FL, this would explain why they have paid the wages for the last two months and funded the loan players and paid off Enterprise. They know that they are in the clear, and the mess now is down to GFH. I guess that now GFH and IIB are trying to shift some of their share allocation to get below the magic 10% threshold so that they do not have to pass the FL FPPT. If anyone has any better idea's feel free to put them forward, after all I could be 100% wrong!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Makes sense but if this is the case how did they ever pass the test in the first place. They must have money didn't they just purchase a multi million pound house in London. I think they just wanted to make a quick buck with only minimal investment. Just want someone with money and passion at our helm. Believe if I ever become a billionaire leeds is top of my shopping list

No gfh and iib already own club so don't need to pass fppt

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I understand that they already own the club, but the complete share structure has changed and I would expect that everything has to go before the FL again, and I would think that they have to approve everyone, especially as now when they look at the books and see what a mess they must be in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Makes no difference whether they own 100% or 25%, they have already been vetted and sanctioned by the FL. The financial mess they are in may be a part of the FL questioning but would not mean they would have to take the test again

GFH had a change of director in January. Would assume the FPPT would apply to new director

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with Paulux. Only thing he forgot was the accumulating debt for the remaining 25% signore cellino not buying. If cellino puts in 7.5 million you would expect the other investors to put 2.5 million in.

Likewise when it comes to buying players. I don't believe the 25% remaining investors have deep enough pockets to match Cellinos ambitions for leeds this will be the close seasons stumbling block I suppose.

I understand that cellino will be paying everything going forward (you would need survivor to confirm) that's why gfh won't waste time talkin to farnan group because they would never match what is a dream deal for gfh!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow. If that's true GFH has the best of all worlds however does explain the buy out clause for when we reach the premership.

All these Kebe and Stewart knockers get a grip please and get behind them. Kebe does track back well and Stewart does seem to have skill. Give them both a chance please if there still no good next season (if we keep them both) then fair enough. If we get a player of collinsons ilk then I see us as serious play off contenders. Think we could even string together 6 wins on the Trot looking at fixtures so let's get behind the team and when we do the players respond. Mot

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I echo these comments.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stewart is at least trying . but Kebe? Its all well and good tracking back but you need to put a tackle in aswell. Something he seems to fear. Anyway he was brought in as a winger to supply ammo for our centre forward and hasn't done a tap. As a team we can't afford to keep carrying him, so time to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip? The only thing Stewart has on his side is age he has potential but kebe? Really? See people on here saying he works hard and defends well. He's a winger who doesn't know how to cross a ball. We are so narrow that the two wingers are ineffective.

Agree0 Disagree0

They will come good.but what they need is a midfielder(s) who can hold and keep the ball, so that they can then get down the wings. at the moment most of their effort is coveriing back because we can't retain possession for long enough, therfore can't risk getting forward

I haven't lost faith in Kebe. There's skill and quality in those legs, though he has not managed to show much of it so far!

Find it appropriate to remind fans that Ross is our biggest star. Six month after HIS arrival none of us would have included him in our best starting eleven - comments were he was slow, clumsy, overweight, helpless in front of goal and a total waste of money! Remember fans moaning over Ross playing striker before kick off in the Burnley home game where he hit his first ever Leeds goal! Some of you guys have a very short memory!

Changing club is never easy! Even Mata hasn't changed scums fortunes over night! So give Kebe and Stewart time and benefit of doubt! May be their skills we're praising this time next year - like Ross' status exploded in his second season.!

May be MORE likely if they are given support and not abuse!

Agree0 Disagree0

Kebes just plain idle he has the skill there but can't be bothered,, didn't you read What the reading fans said, he has one good match out of a dozen games, if he was any good don't you think they would of used him,, they were glad to get rid .

My player evaluations vs QPR

Butland - Very quiet first half, couldn't really do much about the goal. Some good saves in the second half. I feel confident with shots and crosses coming in when Butland is in goal. Would be nice to have him back next season even if its just on loan.

Peltier - A better performance, looked more composed defensively. Showed good strength on a number of occasions.
Needs the help of his winger.

Lees - Doesn't take risks, defensively is pretty strong although sometimes he needs to be more decisive closing down shots. His weakness is his distribution.

Pearce - A very strong performance. I hardly noticed a foot being put wrong by Pearce. No nonsense and a leader at the back.

Warnock - Good performance. Would benefit from more help from his winger. Gets forward well and defensively is solid. His weakness is a lack of pace.

Kebe - A poor performance. His positioning was awful he has consistently allowing too much space for his opposite number. His passing was woeful and his effort seems to be severely lacking. Should have been substituted about 60 minutes in for Sam Byram. Should lose his place.

Austin - For the first 40 minutes the beast was back, first to every ball and passing was good. Started to tire in the second half a bit. Much better than of late.

Murphy - Really impressed with him recently. Hope the injury isn't serious. Only real criticism is he gave away a few too many cheap free kicks away due to being over eager.

Stewart - Better than Kebe but not by much. Seems scared of the ball. Needs to make runs into box for McCormack etc to find. Think Ariyibi deserves a shot in the starting 11

McCormack - Looks frustrated of late. Poor penalty but didn't let it phase him and got his goal but ultimately it cost us. He is a key player for us and with Wickham he should start to shine again.

Wickham - Great strength and great feet for a big lad. Already linking up well with Ross. Unlucky not to get a debut goal. Great signing. Hopefully the rumours of a £3million buy clause is true.

Mowatt - I like Mowatt, I think he will be a big player for us in a year or two and maybe even a future captain. Although I would like him to start regularly, Brian is doing the right thing not over using him as he is only 18. Came on and did well. Looks comfortable on the ball and likes to make forward breaks. A few more goals from him would be good, he is capable.

Byram - Should have come on earlier. Was he not fully fit? Class act but like Mowatt should not be overplayed to try and avoid too many injuries early on.

Brown - Regardless of what anyone says he does a job for us. He is a model professional and consistant. He sures up the midfield and always gives 100%. However he does give away too many free kicks and is slow now. Still a useful squad player.

McDermott - Biggest mistake was keeping Kebe on for so long. First half we were the best team but didn't make the most of us, but we need to use the wingers more instead of going long.
