Just a thought here ok. Ken bates linked with pompy? Leeds buy 3 pompy players pre season! Surely even old ken isnt shrewd enough to invest money into his future club any thoughts or just me?

Believable2 Unbelievable9

He hasn't invested? the money for pearce was money from selling other players, varney ashdown norris all frees?

Agree13 Disagree2

Ashdown free, Varney 200k Norris about the same Pearce 500k

Agree6 Disagree0

And if he wasnt investing the money, like the first comment said.....its even better for him as he would be investing someone else money into a club he will save...

Agree1 Disagree0

Snoddy money alone paid for all of them

Agree4 Disagree1

We didn't pay pompey for varney, we payed derby for his buy-out clause in his contract

Agree2 Disagree0

Regardless of wetha the money was out of bates pocket or not he has still pumped over a million pounds into pompy and 4 wages off there payroll!

Agree0 Disagree0

Please don't go, we need you Mr Bates (NOT!) Captain birdseye belongs by the sea.
BYE,BYE,BATES!

Agree1 Disagree0

Question. If you own a buisness ( any buisness ) and it earns a profit of £1 a week and you decided to sell up them £1 profits go with you, yeah ?!?! So regardless how many pompey players he buys whoever owns portsmouth take that money correct ?!?! So hes not investing in any potential new buisness

Here is the plus or minus whichever way you look at it.
Plus.......the deal goes through take over complete Bates GETS OUT OF OUR CLUB as we have been politely asking him to do for a long time.
Minus deal doesn't go through and by january we will be in admin lose ten points but because Warnock gets us as many points as possible we finish mid table.
Different Plus the potential buyers who have been waiting in the wings and having poored over the books know everything they need to pick up LUFC for a song they invest heavily and Neil decides to stay and we get into the prem in two years. Bates get investigated and is banned from being a director and receives not one penny from LUFC
If there is a god of football Mr Bates will get his just deserts.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Good luck with that. No-one is going to imprison a near 90 year old who resides out of the jurisdiction. Best we can hope for is the takeover otherwise we are doomed for another decade.

Agree3 Disagree0

What is the obsession with us going back into administration? I know we dont appear to have money to spend, but we do turn a small profit each year (financial fair play), administration is not feasible .

Agree2 Disagree3

THE BOOKS ARE BALANCED BY SALE OF PLAYERS e.g. Delph, Snodgrass they were assets, we have no assets left to sell we are going to run out of money as the weeks go by the money go's on wages, Bates is fast running out of options, he now owes the potential new owners millions, he will not spend his own cash we are f***ed if he won't sell, on the plus side so is he.
He is bad for not only LEEDS but football in general, if it's true about Pompy I pity them they are in for years of misery if the old B*****d won't drop dead and leave us all alone

Sadly I didn't make the game sat, just a question to those that went, did Robinson get a good welcome back?

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Hi, so what if he did, so what if he did not? He is a splitter who plays for Blackburn.

Agree1 Disagree22

Yes he did mate and you could see that it meant a lot to him

Agree13 Disagree0

Yes a standing ovation and he clapped all the fans back then they sang your Leeds and you know you are and he laughed.

Agree10 Disagree0

Before and after the game he received a tremendous, and I must add, fully deserved, ovation.

It was actually a privilege to be a part of - as genuine a case of mutual admiration between a player and fans of a former club as you are ever likely to see.

Agree10 Disagree0

Took me back to being 13 again seeing him play. I think he felt like he was home :) Legend.

Agree3 Disagree0

To the first replier cant believe you put that can tell you didnt go to game or you would have a lot more respect for him. He loves Leeds he left cause we needed money and didnt mess us about with money like Kewell etc.. also the first thing he did when he came out was ran to kop and did the Leeds salute.

We will find out this week whether we will have new owners or not. Apparently its not looking very positive, although the buyers are still keen. I'm sure we are all aware that its KB whose stalling and he making things difficult.

Ed what's the funniest genuine rumour you've seen sent in to this site ? {Ed003's Note - If you mean ones that seem ridiculous but end up being true,the latest one was last week on the main site regarding J bullard to MK Dons, I was laughing it off and within hours he signed for them lol}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

My favourite was a rumour that said that he went to the same synchronised swimming club as Neil Warnock, Billy Davies and Ken Bates! And that Lionel Messi was to sign for his boyhood club... Forest Green

Agree2 Disagree0

The Andy Gray rumour was straight out of left field and turned out true.

Simon Grayson has confirmed that they tried to get Beckford on loan and almost got it over the line. Beckford wanted to get out of Leicester. When the loan window opens Warnock should sound out Beckford on this one. He wants a move and surely he would prefer Leeds over Huddersfield. Bigger club. Better crowd. Better chance of promotion. Less money though... can't hurt to try

Believable6 Unbelievable2

In all fairness, Becks is a better fit at that place down the road. they need a goalscorer after losing their main man, we have Luc and Ross playing just fine together.

Agree2 Disagree4

Hi, once again a post that is nothing to do with Leeds. If you are so interested in what Gryson is doing, then go support Huddersfield

Agree2 Disagree9

Having watched beckford against Blackpool, I would not be breaking the bank to bring him back...he may benefit from working under NW?, but does seem he is low on confidence and does not want to be there...not sure he is the answer!!

Agree2 Disagree2

And if one gets injured?..silly reply post.we need back up...shrew leeds

Agree4 Disagree1

Not saying we dont need new faces...we need 4 or 5 decent first team players to have a real go...just dont think Beckford should be one of them..

Agree3 Disagree2

You think he'd be happy being backup? isn't that the exact reason he wants to leave Leicester? Shrew, you're the silly one.

He spent the closing stages of August watching clubs crawl over players he coveted as Ipswich Town bid for George Boyd, Norwich City moved for Craig Mackail-Smith and Cardiff City agreed a fee for Nicky Maynard. All while, Leeds fought to tie Diouf to a deal worth £5,000 a week.

It might be that there is some subliminal message behind all this; a way of GFH Capital making its continuing presence known without breaching its commitment to confidentiality. As hard as it is to believe, the planned buy-out of Leeds is still drawing breath and soldiering on, though the present picture shows two entrenched sides sitting tight and waiting for the other to concede crucial ground. You'd be tempted to think that someone, somewhere will lose patience soon were it not for the fact that neither party saw it necessary to draw a line in the sand while the transfer window was open. In terms of public awareness, this takeover is into its 95th day.

Ramon Nunez damaged cruciate knee ligaments in reserve game today as Leeds beat Wigan 3-1 with goals from A Trialist, Zak thompson and Dom Poleon.
Get well soon Ramon - sounds long term.

I feel sorry for the lad, but if it's long term don't we get insurance to cover his wages? Maybe free up some money for a loaner?

If the price tag of £50 million for our club is correct, assuming we do get taken over, what are the new owners to be getting for their money? We don't own TA, we don't own ER, our next two years season ticket funds are going towards the new stand, so basically that leaves the players. I find it hard to believe we are worth £50 million in our current state. If it is for the pure love of the game and our club, then good on em.

Believable11 Unbelievable0

Shhhhh are you trying to put the buyers off ? lol

Agree2 Disagree0

I have never been a Bates hater (i just cant be bothered) but i do believe he owns ER and TA (by guile) even if it was not from when he first took over, so that is why the club could be worth £50M.

Hey guys,

Look i understand the frustration with our current situation off the field. I hate bates and everything he stands for. But given the fact that Neil has practically worked miracles so far this season and we are playing as a team for each other and were hard to beat is what we should be focusing on.

There is a time and a place for protests but not at games where the team can pick up the negativity. How much do you think it achieves by protesting at the ground? Bates isn't even there to hear you!

I think the people on here that are trying to get people to boycott games are being very silly. Because you will be the same people who are turning up every game at the end of the season if we are up in the top six regardless of Bates being here or not. You should turn up and support the team. That's why we go to Elland Road! Because we are all Leeds through and through and yes it cheeses me off what's happening off the field but for 90mins on a Saturday/Tuesday I support the 11 players and manager on the field and forget what's happening off it.

Anyway agree with me disagree with me, this is just my opinion. Whatever happens I'll still be there supporting the lads when I counts.

Dom Poleon in the Leeds U21 game. Superb goal (absolute class). Looks good enough for the bench to me. Watch the tape Neil :)

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Any other players impressing? keep hearing a lot about the Turners and Lenighan, but none have been given a run out.

Agree1 Disagree0

Five games in 15 days coming up so good chance they make the bench and get some game time then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Both Turners looked very steady. I was impresssed with the strength and skill of Ntelmi. Lenighan (A big lad) was excellent, even off his game. Rabchuka played extremely well and pulled off some very good saves. Paddy Kisnorbo looked past his best I'm afraid :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh and Zac Thompson. Good range of passing and a quality goal :)

Just been reading some posts, every1 thinks we cant sign frees because they want signing on fees, or there agents want a slice. Not every player has an agent, and free transfers dont always want a signing on free as there glad just to start getting a wage again. Im not saying this is true about every player, but every time some1 mentions a free transfer they get shot down with "signing on fee" or "players agent wants this"
Bainesyboy

Believable9 Unbelievable6

That is normally the reason good quality players find themselves without a club. they price themselves out of moves.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is always the kids on the red rec! there is no one out there worthy of a place that would fit your description matey. TeeCee

Agree0 Disagree0

So you would like to sign people like Jason Koumas and players like him who have been out of the game for ages and are just begging someone to sign them. Any player who could do a job for us or is of the quality we need will need require a signing on fee

Logic - quickest way to the championship is 30,000+ every home game - new squad not flapping in front of big crowd - so just turn up till Christmas pleeeease, please don't destroy the team - they need us....

Believable24 Unbelievable11

I totally agree, People need to stop crying about bates and lining his pockets, Accounts have to be availble to public so I cant see how he could be pocketing it.
I cant get to many games but will try and go to as many as I can I was at the Blackburn game and was disappointed with the number of empty seats I could see but even after we didn't quite take the 3 points it was a fantastic game and well worth the £150+ it cost me and my GF to go up for the weekend. She is a Necastle fan so the next callange is to try and fit 2 games in one weekend! I know we all cant afford to go to every game but if we all try and make the extra effort to go to a couple more games a season it will make all the differance.

look im def not fan of mr bates.but theres alot of real slagging off going on here and maybe we need to be a bit careful.what we want is for mr bates to sell the club to a bonifide company with leeds at heart..he is so stubborn that seeing and hearing all of us will make him not want to sell more or help us..
what we really need is the TRUTH.
it could be a prob from the other end.it could be nearly a done deal.if kb is stalling and annoying the potential buyer so much that they pull out then we give him loads and he will deserve everything.
as much as the deal will make him even richer maybe theres a legit reason its not done.
so all i ask for is the truth, someone come out and tell us whats going on,please...shrew leeds

Every body keeps saying wait till the prem teams name there 25 for the season, theres some right players we can get. NEWS FLASH!!
Where is this money goin to come from? A magic pot that fell from the sky. People are just not getting it. We have no money and the tin pot that runs are club will not invest 1p in the team. Now for some people thats ok because we are winning some games at the moment but we are 2 injuries away from a desaster season.
People say its Bates's club to do with as he see's fit. I say there would be no club, without the loyal fans paying top dollar. So fact is we are the club and without us there would be no LUFC. So you would exspect to person running the buisness to look at what would put bums on seats. The answear is clear to see, put a little in to get alot out and change the buisness into a success. The only problem is Mr Bates doesn't care anothe about the name LUFC, to want to put a little in. He just wants to rape all the assetts, from under are noses.
If you owned a sweet shop and people were not coming to buy sweets. You would think, people are not coming because i'm not selling the right kind if sweets. So you you change the sweets and opt for a better quality of sweet. What you don't do is change the decor, When there was nothing wrong with it in the first place.
I just want to see my club be successfull again. The money we pay to see are beloved club is really high for this league. So i don't think it's to much to ask. Bates hes taken as far as he can without putting his own money. So i say its time to pass over the mantle. The only way he will do this is when it starts to hurt him in the pocket. I know support the team no matter what. For me the only thing i think im supporting now is Bates retirement fund, that i can not do. Once this man has gone, i will be the first fly down and get my ticket because i know where that money is going.
So when do we all come togeather and say anothe is anothe, today, tomorrow, league 1, league 2. If we don't do whats right for are club before there is no assetts to call a squad. Then this man is going to be laughing at us, all the way to the bank.
So ill finish with, BATES OUT, BATES OUT!!

The Newspaper stated on Thursday 30th August,72 Hours to go before the takeover is completed,if this doesnt include weekends, takeover to be completed today and announced tomorrow

If this doesnt happen the FA and other governing bodies need to get involved, because surely Master Bates has broken some kind of code

Believable5 Unbelievable9

it's time to get real people , at best we are looking at investment with pappa smurf still at the helm , (in every press release he has rubbished any talk of a takeover)i know we need to dream to end this nightmare , but it,s not going to happen , i know we have a paper thin squad but if anybody can get the best out of of these boys NW is our man , expect some ordinary loan signings when the window opens to boost numbers , but nothing more , i for one prey to all the gods of football i am wrong , but i very much doubt it , it,s time to realize that 28000 ardent leeds fans cheering on our boys is the best signing of the season , lets make ER a fortress and show this division just how big a club this is ....... leeds forever M.O.T

Believable7 Unbelievable7

This is what bates wants, i for one will not get in line and zip up. The man has had 7 yrs of everyone getting in line and hopeing this might be the season.
I want change, i want a new plan of action, i want some new players that can play, i want a chairmen that gives a s==t. Until all this happens, they are not getting my hard earned money. I understand a few people will not be struggleing or out of work. If i'm going to use money that otherwise could be used on doin something with my kids. Then i'm sorry but the ships captain has to go first.

How would investment take this long? If your investing in a club would only take weeks not months.

It is a takeover but as bates is involved its that complicated its taking for ever.its well documented bates wont sign forms.

Agree3 Disagree2

At what point has he done a press conference on the subject he has referred to it as takeover/investment or said nothing at all also if its just investment you dont need a broker 'GFH Capital' do you you just do it one on one with Bates you dont need a middle man..

I can't see this takeover happening. Bates has a unrealistic valuation of the club which is putting investors off nobody wants to pay the money he wants to get to sell out.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

This is why we need to force his hand. Staying away will hurt him and doin this is hurting me. It's a shame this is the only clear message he gets. Once he's got to dip into his own pocket, then you will see him get hot an bothered.
Believe you me its killing me staying away but you have to sacrifice for the greater good of are club.
I know people will say, you need to support your team and get behind the lads. I say when does it end because we will be saying same thing next season and the next and the next. Anothe is anothe.
