Max gradel listed as he doesn't feel comfortable playing in France

Believable4 Unbelievable7

In a coutnry speaking his native language and his family settled there, his side flying in ligue 1. he must be terribly uncomfortable...

People who are thinking Bates is going to pay over £500k on more than 4 or 5 players need to think again, he won't pay £15k a week wages which adds up to £720k a year on one player because it will take 4 home game to cover that. THINK AGAIN SAME OLD LEEDS! BATES OUT!

Believable2 Unbelievable11

This should defo be on the rumours page see what replies it gets!

Agree3 Disagree1

Wait and see what happens this summer before you start on the Bates out bandwagon YET AGAIN. Warnock has started his clear out and is obviously getting some funds otherwise he would not still be at Leeds. We all believe that Bates was waiting for this year to try for promotion properly so we need to see what happens

Agree9 Disagree0

Same old nonsense post. Wait until the summer is over before you jump on last years bandwagon.

Agree9 Disagree1

Well thank the lord your not the chairman, wanting to throw the cash around at people who are not worth it, I'm with bates on the clayton situation, another ridsdale that doesn't care about crippling the club, go follow man city if that's what your after

Agree8 Disagree0

It would take four gates to raise that money because less people now attend games because you and your silly Bates Out buddies make it uncomfortable and dull atmosphere!

Agree8 Disagree0

Brilliant replies to a totally rubbish post. Marching on together, without the turkeys!!!

Agree5 Disagree0

Give it a rest with the Bates out rubbish.

promotion
be excellent player tp have on pitch with his experience

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Like we haven't been linked with him already?

Agree5 Disagree1

NO TO OLD AND TO SLOW BETTER AVAILABLE

Agree6 Disagree2

Yawn... {Ed020's Note - my thoughts exactly}

Agree4 Disagree2

I hadn't thought about him. Oh wait...

Agree2 Disagree1

Id rather him be a mole to the other teams dressing room to sneak some tactics

Agree0 Disagree0

Too old, too slow, don't need him when Warnock has retained Brown, would shove the average age up too far

Beckford has been transfer listed by Leicester

Believable13 Unbelievable0

Can't see Ken putting his hand in his pocket

Agree3 Disagree9

Loan til the end of the season. watch.

Agree2 Disagree5

Think it's more the fact Ken holds a grudge against Beckford going and won't have him back. Almost certainly won't pay for the privilege.

Agree1 Disagree7

Where have you seen this not on there official site

Agree1 Disagree2

So what to disruptive and egotistical

I for one would love to see Beckford back in a Leeds shirt.

BECKFORD LISTED BY LEICESTER

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Why? They just spent 4M on him. They won't even get half that back. If we can pick him up bearing in mind our limited finances I'd go as high as 1.25M to bring him back.

Agree9 Disagree2

They have got a LOT of money. cant imagine they mind losing a couple mill. if he leaves they'll get at least 2 for him anyway

Tomasz Kuszczak. man utd reject weve all ad a good laugh at him.
Alan Smith hero to villian ( TRATOR + passed it)
my point is that there both played for scum and we dont want or need them thought we need to get better player if so were r these rumours coming from have they got the same AGENT?????

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Did you say that about stachan when he signed?

Agree3 Disagree3

Smith has neve been in the same class as Strachan, and where did Giles come from, who gives a f*** where they come from,if theyre good players who cares.

Leeds agree Jason Pearce transfer but how good is he?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I asked a client who has a Pompey season ticket who says he's brilliant. Not fast but reads the game well and 'would tackle a bus' to get the ball. Everything he told me about Brown was spot on so no reason not to take his word.

Has anyone got any views or opinions on why Warnock hasn't listed Pugh (probably because no-one will buy him)? He'd be first to go imo, probably on PL wages aswell. Also, i wonder why Warnock has let Nunez and Bruce go, i think Nunez could be a great player (Taarabt sort of role) if he got a run in the team. And Bruce is the sort of player i like... plays with a passion and is a very good CB (strong and quick). Good squad player aswell!

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Everyone's going on about Clayton, but I think Nunez may be the one to haunt us in future. In the right team playing the right system I think he'll do well.

Agree10 Disagree1

Nunez only got quality going forward .too weak but very tricky .not better than anyone we have got in the attacking positions

Agree0 Disagree6

Pugh as been kept as he can play a few different positions and every team needs a player like that

Agree5 Disagree0

At least Nunez HAS got quality going forward. Clayton hasn't, and he's also too lightweight. I would definitely have rather kept Nunez. He could have done a job in the Howson role of last season, in the hole just behind the striker(s).

Agree5 Disagree0

I think we'd have been better trying to bulk nunez up a bit than looking to let him going and trying find someone with his abilities who is stronger. Saying that though Pugh is more of what I'd think of as a warnock player. Not technically brilliant but a steady worker of a player.

This team should be good enough to fight for promotion with out spending much money:
Gk lonergan
Rb halford
Cb lees
Cb Pearce
Lb not sure but someone with pace
Cdm green
Cdm clingan
Rw snodgrass/McCormack
Cf boyd
Lw adomah/doiuf
St becchio

Bench somma, brown, rogers, kisnorbo, another new defender

I'd cash in on McCormack if snodgrass signs a new deal, expect white to leave

Believable1 Unbelievable8

I wouldn't sell mccormack hes been our 2nd best player if not best player this season.

My dream team for next year:
Lonergan
Lichaj
Lees
Pearce
White
Snodgrass
Hammill
Brown
Jarvis
Diouf
Owen

We'd be walking down easy street

Believable0 Unbelievable13

03 May 2012 16:25:08
We still have the following:

Lonnergan
Lees
Kisnorbo (Solid back up for the back 4)
White (If he signs)
Snodgrass (If he signs)
Thompson
Pugh
McCormack
Becchio (Will undoubtedly be fitter under NW)
Somma (Will be fully fit next season)
Brown (Old head to bring off the bench)
Rogers (Good player if fully fit)

Plus Clayton might yet stay if he sorts his demands out.

Not a bad lot before you add in whoever NW will get in.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

03 May 2012 16:02:36
why get rid of Clayton Warnock

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Because if you'd been at Elland Road for every game this season, you'd have seen a weak player who went completely missing for the second half of the season

Agree12 Disagree3

He obviously thinks the money he is after is too much and he can get better value elsewhere plus a fee for him..good business

Agree5 Disagree2

Although I like the lad, im thinking he would have been a squad player next year, and for a good guess, he was asking first team wages. I agree with Bates on this, 15K a week is alot(if thats him), I wouldnt offer snoddy too much more than that.

Agree6 Disagree2

Because he has a year left on his contract and he wanted more than he's worth. Players will realise soon that clubs outside the premiership don't have money to pay them ridiculous wages with the new financial regulations, and I think £15k a week is ridiculous for a player of his quality. So he'll end up as a a premier league reserve

Agree4 Disagree2

It was Snoddy asking for 15k - Clayton wants 8k or 9k. Good value. And the second poster clearly has no idea - best passer/ball retainer in the squad.

Agree0 Disagree5

That's not saying a lot. He went missing for the second half of the season. Could be good but not yet.

Agree2 Disagree1

Went missing for a few weeks after Howson was injured - looked pretty good to me the last few games. When he was suspended we looked clueless in the middle. Bad mistake letting him go and sends out the wrong message - if you want a decent salary look elsewhere. Kilkenny, Johnson, Beckford, Howson - have we learned nothing?

Why are people defending this when we've paid 5 million for a bunch of empty corporate boxes and untold millions in Ken's legal fees as a consequence of his reckless programme notes?

Agree2 Disagree2

Players are always going to chase money, and if they want to go let em,for all his faults, bates has this club running well, and before all the moaners start, lets see what weve got at the start of the season,NWs done it before on little money and very capable of doing it again.

Agree3 Disagree0

03 May 2012 13:34:49
Why do people think that when teams get relegated to the Championship that their players will leave and go to other teams in the same league.

I can understand players leaving relegated teams to play for Premiership teams.

Example - people talking about getting Robbo or Yakubu from Blackburn. Utter nonsense and we couldnt afford their wages. Why leave a club that will probably go back up for a club thats a bit all over the place at the minute and not paying big wages.

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Its not that they wish to leave and play in the same league its the fact that the club usually needs to offload the players as there contract is too high for them to withstand so they sell up and that removes there wages and gets them a transfer fee in which means they are able to pay another one of there top players still for another season.

Agree4 Disagree1

Apparantly the wage bill at Blackburn was lower than that of Blackpool (according to Talk Sport). If that is the case then surely the wages of Blackburn players would be affordable to us since the wages were capped at £10k per week at Blackpool. Yakubu and McCormack would be a fantastic front pairing. {Ed001's Note - Blackpool have a higher wage bill due to win bonuses and promotion bonuses being included, not because they pay higher wages. Blackpool paid a record amount out in a promotion bonus.}

Agree1 Disagree0

03 May 2012 13:33:01
Has everyone forgot about Becchio he was our top scorer in 1st season back and last season had an injury at the start and still finished well typical Warnock player.... do not want Beckford back no effort and does not care

Believable11 Unbelievable10

Totally with you on this one, seen some people pridictions of diouf and mccormack upfront I like the idea of a bit of pace but whos there to hold it up, plus he doest a great job and getting back and defending set pieces. Its annoying when ppl dont consider all players aspects, aswell as warnocks playing style. Im no pro far from it but some team suggest seem silly. I wouldnt net of 4-4-2 either especially is snods stays!

Agree6 Disagree3

The problem with Becchio is that he doesn't hold the ball up very well. His first touch is awful and his second isn't much better. True, he works very hard and defends as well as the next man at set pieces but unfortunately you need a lot more from a striker. Last season when he finished as top scorer he should have easily doubled his tally with the chances he missed. This season, even allowing for the injury he hasn't been good enough for a team that should have been challenging for promotion.

Agree2 Disagree3

Hi, I will have to swim against the swelling tide on this one. I rate Luciano. What is it with this bring Beckford back thing? As the annoying moustached man says, 'go compare', and tell me who has the better scoring record in this league, and re-post. And that is before the word loyalty comes into the argument.

What's happening with Rogers, haven't seen him listed on the transfer list, retained list etc.

He had a one year contract so it should be up for renewal. {Ed020's Note - he hada 2 n half year contract}

03 May 2012 09:19:43
Couple of home truths need explaining to my fellow Leeds fans.

Ken has already emphasized that our football budget will reduce this year from £12.5m last year. Despite Ken's insistence that this is one of the biggest budgets ion the Championship, this is a LIE and we're below average.

Of the players we want to keep, Snodgrass and White will want significant wage increases that will most certainly go beyond what we can afford, so I would consider these two gone - especially Snodgrass, who will now see his good mates Howson and Johnson earning double, if not triple,in the Premier League.

So we can forget anything other than bargain basement frees and failure to replace the likes of Clayton and Snoddy. Ken Bates has never prioritised building a team and there I see no reason why he'd suddenly start now.

And to those that believe the hiring of Neil Warnock shows ambition - managers a relatively cheap compared to players. Let's see if we build a team before branding the club ambitious.

Believable6 Unbelievable10

Equally, let's see what team we build before we say the club hasn't shown ambition. Our own fans are writing us off already. Ok, I know recent summers/transfer windows have been disgraceful but if this close season was going to be anything like that Warnock wouldn't be here. Let's sit on our hands, take a deep breath & see what happens?

Agree10 Disagree1

I'm sure NW was well aware of Bates' short arms and long pockets well before he agreed to become our manager. He would have demanded reassurances on budgets before he took the job. This could be his last managerial job and he wants a record eighth promotion and I don't think he would have been short of offers from Championship clubs, so let's wait and see eh?

Agree10 Disagree0

03 May 2012 08:51:21
why are we looking for loan players, we need to buy fresh and young talent for the future and to get us promoted this season

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Who's looking for loan players? Warnock's already stated he doesn't want them.

Agree7 Disagree0

Pretty obvious...KB does not have to pay for them....only their wages.

Agree1 Disagree4

If we buy them and they are anygood we can sell them and make some money . warnock said no loans

Alan Smith spotted crying in Elland Road car park........

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Wi way the season went im sure there was more ppl crying in the car park. Bates OUT with his 1950's player wages

Agree1 Disagree3

Your not serious. In this day and age with some clubs on the brink of insolvency owners and boards need to be more rational with wages and payments. Hell we've overcommitted once before as a club and look at the depth we tumbled to. We are still trying to get back to the premier league

Agree4 Disagree1

03 May 2012 01:43:59
with connolly gone, and Lees being a centre back (not comfortable at right back), theres must be a right back lined up? Greg Halford?

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Warnock said in his interview he thinks he plays well at right back, we need our players to be like utility players as i dont want a big squad, but to be close and tight nit. I think we will bring in a full back but i have a feeling lees wont be first choice CB

People having a go at clayton give it a rest he said he wanted ta stay at leeds this is a kop by warnock and bates the excuses are starting already it was white who asked for it he is going to newcastle for 2m compo If u look at warnock and bates recent interviews their already sayin players demands are ridiculous 15k in my opinion is not that much for a championship player we had one of the lowest salary spending last season with 30 players now were cutting to between 23-25 and he wants to chop two million off the salary structure top notch players will want decent pay packets to play for us leeds are not big anymore and my optimism is quickly draining at the excuses being spread at the minute {Ed003's Note - I would imagine most championship clubs are lowering their budgets after the recent new rules being approved it's about time players/agents lowered their expectations because they will have to}

Believable2 Unbelievable9

Great comment ed, this tool clearly cant understand that actually football needs a shake up and if we lead the way then we can be ahead of everyone else and not getting fined at the end of the season!

Agree8 Disagree2

Also 15k for someone who realistically isnt exactly an experienced and proven player at any level (i'm talking about White here) is ridiculous. My view is that if it is White, he is asking for silly money knowing we won't pay it to force a move

Agree5 Disagree0

Average Championship wages were £4,059 in 2011 according to paper report!

Agree2 Disagree0

That would include all the youth players and reserves on less than 1k a week, skewing the stats. average first team wage is more likely 8-10k.

Agree0 Disagree0

I Am Original poster yes foootball needs a shake up leeds wage structure doesnt we spent the sixth least amount on wages to our players with one of the biggest squads in the championship and we turned a substantial profit for the third year in a row explain to me (the tool) why are wage structure should decrease if we are in a healthy position if it were to remain the same and we cut the squad we could afford quality players ed your right about clubs having to watch themselves but leeds are one of the only clubs making a profit explain to me why we shud be cutting further when are profit margins are very good even when you leave out all the player sales over the years

Agree1 Disagree1

03 May 2012 00:15:27
All you weeping over Clayton have got it wrong! He's not good enough.

For goodness sake give Warnock the chance to sign the players he wants before you start the annual summer full of doom & gloom.

I didn't dislike Grayson, far from it in fact, but it's important to remember we now have a man at the helm who has done it all before and has contacts all over the place. He will get the job done, so please don't all spit your dummies out MORE THAN THREE MONTHS before the new season is here.

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Reason for clayton been transfer listed is just tho get a few mil in to build the squad . NW would of had the choice between mccormack , becchio, snoddy and clayton to sell and unlucky for clayton he was seen as easiest player to be replaced for the money that will be received

Agree3 Disagree5

Wrong, Warnock has seen what actually very few Leeds fans have - Clayton isn't quite good enough for a promotion winning midfield.

Agree4 Disagree0

And if you honestly think we'll get a few million for Clayton you really are living in cloud cuckoo land.

Agree4 Disagree0

Clayton is lightweight. He is inconsistent. He make become a very good player - but he isnt one now. And NW wants to go up next year. I am sure he has someone better lined up who can deliver what we need now. Issue is will KB fund the moves!

Agree4 Disagree0

Believable2 Unbelievable11

03 May 2012 00:10:11
In my opinion footballers are getting too greedy, i mean clayton could of easily ended up playing league 2 football on £500 a week, instead he ends up at mighty leeds with 20.000 fans watching him and on a very high wage. He has one good half of a season and thinks hes worth 20k a week and premier league football. I played for bradford and doncaster and got 2k a week at bradford. Im still well off and its been 7 years. I now get £150 a week playing for armthorpe and im over the moon. All im saying is if you dont keep your feet on the ground and count your blessings you might end up playing for armthorpe with me. Btw i started at man u as a kid and i would of given anything to sign for leeds but to be fair they were in champions league! BEN (MUZZA) MUIRHEAD.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

It wasnt clayton that asked for 15k a week (see his twitter page)

Agree4 Disagree1

He's nont exactly going to come out and say he asked for £15k either is he, or could it be another one of Bates not telling the truth again (shock horror!!!)

Agree2 Disagree0

Aidy white as asked for 15k and he is not worth it and i say get rid

Agree4 Disagree0

These players are only asking for big wages as they have seen Leicester and west ham spending silly money like 40,000 on beckford or there about or nolan with his 50,000+ . these players that are asking for more know they can get more elsewhere and if leeds wish to compete with other clubs we need to spend more money or find unproven upcoming stars from lower leagues

Agree2 Disagree0

03 May 2012 00:09:39
Clayton moaning on twitter that he didn't want 15k a week, must of been k14,900 then, why else would he get listed then? Good player with protential but punching above your weight, Not worth that much son, obviously no honour for the club or fans, same boat as the rest of the names that have left in past 2 seasons, but other others had a long term playing and proved more, should of excepted a better fair contract to show your worth to get that contract you would like, no sense feel let down, sure he could stay if he wanted but go get your "dream" good riddance if that's how it is

Believable5 Unbelievable2

02 May 2012 23:53:12
1st of all im truly grateful for this day when there's finally some movement going on at leeds 13 of the team it looks now to go and really lookin forward to next year already lets hope there's some quality signings from home and abroad might be a new papa cisse out there lol i wish but never know? was it NW that brought taraabt to QPR? i'd love a marquee signing just like him that likes a run at players a forward with pace for god sake! to have talented players (exciting players) like the leeds of old! but here i can dream cant i lol MOT roll on next season! irish leeds fan!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

02 May 2012 23:52:48
looks like it will be a whole new back 4 with the exception of lees well and maybe white?

to be honest i dont think that lees is that good so yeah he has had a good couple of games but i think he needs a bit more experience imo maybe send out on loan to another championship club?

and if i was warnock and i gotta pretty decent bid for white i would let him go because i dont think you will get as much for him this time next season?

and just to add leeds arent gonna sign big players like matt jarvis and owen hargreaves when stoke and a few other pl sides want jarvis and hargreaves may not have any other pl interest but he would be good cover for a pl side and plus where are we gonna get the money from with ken bates as our chairman.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Whites contract is up so how you gonna sell him next year when he's already gone?

Agree0 Disagree1

02 May 2012 23:41:42
with Maik Taylor being released and Paul Rachubka listed Warnock must have a keeper lined maybe Kenny?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

After watching Kenny's perfomance at the weekend, I seriously hope not.

Agree2 Disagree0

I cant imagine he's relying on Alex Cairns to be a replacement. another keeper looking likely.

Agree0 Disagree2

David (Butter-fingers) James probably - hope its Robinson, with a good defence he's a great keeper

02 May 2012 23:37:45
Clayton has been transfer listed has is agent has demanded 15k per week. Clayton as stated on twitter that he didn't ask for 15k a week. On Yorkshire radio Ken Bates said, "There is one individual whose agent has demanded £15,000 a week for him."

So its obviously his agent playing hard to get as Clayton said that he want to sign a new contract.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Maybe Clayton needs to get a new agent then....??

Agree3 Disagree0

Maybe bates is full of bull s**t and just saying a player as asked for 15 k but really hes not willing to give warnock as much money as he wanted without selling players and clayton is that player that will get us around 2 mil

Agree1 Disagree0

02 May 2012 23:30:55
People are moaning about us not going to have a team good enough to go up or why have we released/listed such and such. It's the 2nd of May. The transfer window technically hasn't opened yet. Wait until the window shuts then we will see how good a squad we have. Saints were up there all year and Reading didn't get going until mid season. Stop being so pessimistic and be optimistic. The players need our encouragement and if you ain't willing to do that before the season has even started then you're not a fan and you need to take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror and decide when it was that you became so bitter and twisted that you no longer feel the optimism that pre-season brings.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

We cant just keep changing our full team , Southampton only signed class players to fit into the squad they already had same as reading . we have changed too many players each season in the championship and i can only see us failing to get promoted again until we get a team together .look at our starting 11 in the the 2010/11 season and then again in the season 2011/12 not many of the same players

Agree0 Disagree1
