For all those saying that we have no money.

I would strongly suggest that you read up on FInancial Fair Play that takes effect for Championship clubs in 2013/14.

Gone are the days of requiring Multi-Millions to own and run a club. That luxury is now open to any moderately successful businessman.

NO club is going to spend BIG this summer - Not in the Championship anyway - It would be financial suicide.

Look at Brighton. an article by their owner earlier this year really laid it out. - He needed 26k attendances for home games to keep his head above water - We averaged 19. 5k appx.

He went on to give an example of QPR in their promotion season under Colin.

basically, they posted a loss of 24.5 million. IF the same happened next season, under FFP QPR would be fined some 17.5 million - and the fine is then divided up amongst the other clubs - Thus funding someone else's promotion push!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nice posting, I just wish people would read this and understand why we can't just go out and spend like QPR or Cardiff ect. We will all be in the same boat except the 3 clubs coming down from the Prem with the parrachute payments, but their wage bill will take up most of that money.
Its shrewd buying and dealing that will be the key to success and in BMD I think we are onto a winner

Agree0 Disagree0

We are a one club city with potentially massive support, the fair play rules will be great for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you spent 24 mill and got fined 17 mill and got promoted at 120 mill sound like a 96 mill profit to me.

Speculation is really beginning to rise about the capture of Reece Wabara from Premier League big spenders (and the more tolerable side of Manchester), Manchester City! Now whether this signing would be a permanent one, or just a loan is as yet unclear with both theories been tossed around across social media websites, blogs & articles across the web. The defender himself, when questioned on twitter about the move, was very much muted in response, with the closest to an actual answer being on the 26th of May in the form of 'We shall see'.
Personally, I would love to see him join the ranks at Elland Road as he is only 21 and has been receiving some pretty rave reviews from those is light blue. Whether this raises speculation on Sam Byram's Leeds United future however, and/or a possible cash plus player move is topic for later discussion, and should be left tucked away due to those 'glass half-empty', never too happy Leeds fans.
If we were to see both Wabara & Mills join, and no current first team defender leave in the summer, I believe our defence would be all but complete, and by far the strongest and most in depth we have had in several years; at this point our attention should be moved onto securing some much needed width and pace to a very average midfield.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Another great article. I would be so happy if this was true and we could start with a defense like that.
Pacey winger and ALF would make me want BMD'S Babies LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on ryanmat. Looks like mcd is starting at the back. This man is smart. His 1st and 2nd choice players are going to be smart top notth signings and I don't care if they are free or not.

Personally I think Macci D would be daft to pay any sort of transfer fee this summer for TWO reasons

Firstly - Have you seen the wealth of talent let go by both EPL and Championship teams.

Secondly - Unless it's a top notch player it's too much of a gamble taking into account Fair Play Rules. EG Matt Mills £1m PLUS you can bet at least £30k a week.

The likes of Mills, Beckford, Danns, are all on unsustainable wage structures and quite rightly their clubs want them off the bill. And not just them!

Personally, I think the most interesting transfers will happen at the last minute this summer - On one hand you will have clubs striving to stay within their business model ----- AND on the other the agents trying to make the most money for their clients.

Salary capping by another method!!

The poor dears only been offered 15k a week. How will they make ends meet!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The posts on here getting better. People at last are understanding the financial straight jacket clubs will have from now on. Wages, (not transfer fees ) and agents cuts are the biggest burden on any Championship / lower Prem Club

I don't think at the moment we need to worry about new signings not coming give it a couple of weeks when they have all had their holidays and that is when the movements will begin to start. But why are there so many negative postings last year it was let's get Bates out, this year its seems to be let's have a go at the new owners christ knows what will happenn if we loose our first match sack the manager. let's be proud of our club and think positive

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Imo I find that there isn't many real supporters of LUFC sure we have fans but they don't actually support us. Fans are like plastic fans they chose their games, they moan & whinge they spread negativity on social networks & create lies, LUFC needs more die-hard supporters, who actually support the club & what it is trying to achieve. {Ed013's Note - That is very unfair to the 20,000 that turn up every week and make Leeds still one of the best supported clubs in the Country, not forgetting the away games that sell out every game}

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree wi ed there.
we have ups and downs yet u never see leeds fans abandoning there team for other big spending ones! we will always be leeds UNITED

Agree0 Disagree0

ED it might sound unfair however it is also a fair assessment of a large proportion of our fan base that appears to be ever increasing.

My message was not aimed or directed toward supporters it was aimed at the plastic fans that we have. {Ed013's Note - Every club has them mate}

Agree0 Disagree0

2 things. what do you mean by plastic? Not born in LEEDS I assume? And Ed how can you say we are one of the best suppoprted teams in the country when we barely made it into the top 10 average attendances in the championship! Great away support but so called smaller clubs are battering our crowds in championship and some league one crowds ain't far off. We are not a big club at present and have always been a selling club, which for a big city is a bit f***ed, however we are LEEDS and we will bounce back once again and fill ER just like it should be week in week out! Think some people will hate me for saying this. But think the reason we all hate the is because we are jealous of their success and previous fortunate circumstances. 30,000 at ER batters a full house at old trafford but they have a brand which if we are honest we ain't got! And do you know what I don't give a s***. Rather be where we are now than being a truly PLASTIC club! Roll on next season cause BMD is going to bring back some good times of that i'm pretty sure. Development Squad Pre-Season 2013

Saturday July 20: Boston United (A) - 3pm KO

Thursday July 25: Shelley FC (A) - 7pm KO

Monday July 29: Shelbourne (A) - 7:45pm

Tuesday August 13: Colwyn Bay (A) - 7:30pm KO

I must say I am normally supportive of what is done within the club and decisions that are made, but with the senior squad playing pre-season away other than FC NURNBERG. I had been hoping that the development squad would be playing most of their games at home or at least some of them.

Pre-season we have FC Nurnberg and that's it. I know theirs Farsley, Shelley FC, & Boston United which are local.

can someone please tell me when we are supposed to kick racism out of football the fa then do nothing towards this by just dismissing hard video evidence of it?

millwall person and club get away with what happend to diouf!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

55 counts of documented evidenced racist acts and they fail to act, if ever you needed further evidence of the corruption within the governance of football.

If the shoe was on the other foot we'd be torn a new one by the FA. everyone hates us.

A blogger has questioned Morrision's ability for next season and I am for one am confidant he can produce. The season before last Crystal Palaces Glenn Murray attacking prowess was not something to shout about. Scoring 7 goals in 43 matches for the eagles. Many a fan including my friend called for him to be released. But in his second season with the eagles he has scored 31 in 45 games. This shows that it can take time for a striker to bed in and I for one have confidence in Morrison's ability so let's get behind him. He can be the difference for us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree. I think he'll do well for us next year. He gave us loads of problems when he was at Millwall. If he's fit & gets a good pre season behind him he will be fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I think the same, ross and morrision will be a handful next year (providing Morrsion fits the gaffers plans and style of play). also think Austin will be a force this year after showing glimspes of greatness last year. Also I can't stand Varney think he is useless and know lots of Charlton fans who say the same but wonder if he might make me wrong next year and do well? you never know

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd much rather sign another stiker to make sure and be safe because both Morison and McCormack were poop this year and don't even deniy it. McCormack was utter s***

Agree0 Disagree0

We should definatley get a new striker, not because Steve and ross aren't up to the job but because ross is not an out and out striker and I actually prefer him in a centre attack midfield role. His movement, creativity and vision dictates the way we play so to utilise him better he should play CAM

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely agree Ross is better just behind the front two linking play. Personally I like Morison - Use him as the target man with another quick striker - Poleon COULD be that man. But needs to hit the ground running because they're those saying the juries out.

So brian mac says I am looking at freebies, players commanding a fee and some that will require compensation to be paid and you got we have no money we are screwed?

Check your sources mate your probs a jealous sheff wed fan

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually think GFH do have money, they have reduced season tickets and match day tickets by qute a bit. For them to make the same amount of money as bates get would have to get at least 30000. Why would they do this not having any money. They know the only way to get the crowds back is to help brian efficiently with building a team capable of promotion.

Here are the players I feel we should look at
Yohan Mollo - plays for relegated french side nancy, fast left winger with great potential and should be cheap.
Nana asare - plays for fc Utrecht, I feel he is the player we need in the middle who can put the ball down and play good football, great agility, and he has a very good work rate
Johnny russell - great striker, young, not too expensive and should score for fun for us.
A few of the free agents could do us good like Vicente, kigallion and Jerome Thomas

Agree0 Disagree0

To the third poster I'm not a Sheffield Wednesday fan if I was why would I referre to leeds as us it's just every season most of the leeds fans no matter what manager you'll still slag us off even if we have Jose mourino and beside leeds have never been a rich club but we used to be the best and we will be again
Del Boy

Agree0 Disagree0

So why are you making false statements then. I don't understand why a FAN would be so pessimistic and lie about something that actually makes us sound bad. Your probably one of those sad barnsley or huddersfield fans who celebrated staying up by singing about us
Touched a nerve did?

Agree0 Disagree0

Frankly speaking I don't care if they are free signings. As long as they are what we need and good at what they do and most importantly given a chance not like last year - namely Hall and Habibou. In all honesty I think we will sign two players on fees around £1mil and bring in 3-4 free signings.

My Preferences would be:
Mills £1m
Russell or Lefondre £1m - £2m
Thomas - Free
Ebanks Blake - Free
and a CM probably on loan, someone like Carroll or McEachran

Other two options would be Kilgallon if the above equivalent doesn't come or Cole if Morison leaves.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look stop slagging me off I'm telling you I'm a leeds fan my first leeds match was leeds Huddersfield and we won 4-0 jonno Douglas scored first then beckford then tor Andre flo scored his first leeds goal there then beckford was scored again, I even remember the attendance it was 35 thousand and now we can't even fill 25 thousand I'm just stating why slag us off before we have even started that's so no need to have a tantrum, I even missed a day of school to go to the Chelsea match the atmosphere was amazing it should be like that every week, so stop slagging me and more importantly the club off.

GFH will not be funding any transfers this summer. They are looking for new owners because their intention was to take over Leeds make money off it and do one. The manager will obviously do his best but what
has been re occuring is the un answered questions and lack of voice from the owners to the fans. Wake up Leeds Fans. We've had ten years of rubbish. Over 200 players have come in and out of Elland Road since we were relegated from the prem

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The only thing correct about your statement is the GFH want to make money from us. But that goes without saying there a bloody business. And the only way the can do that is to invest on players and have us promoted where our value shall rise.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have heard a strong whisper whilst over in Dubai recently that GFH are planning a Sh*t or bust 2 seasons with BMD, their view is a premiership Leeds United makes them shed loads more than Championship, if they don't achieve Prem then they look to cut their losses and sell out after the next 2 years gives them that time to find a suitable investor
It was said the fund BMD had was £8 mill and that had to cover wages for signings too so I guess, if what I was told is right £ 3 mill on signings and rest on wages not bad if we can also lure a couple of the better freebies in with higher wage offers and given the fair play rules whenever that kicks makes commercial sense
