Just a thought but I reckon Karl Henry at wolves would be a good signing, plus he's training with their youth team. Good ball winning midfielder, because just my opinion but I don't rate Austin at all, fit or not. Very happy overall with the deals done so far, just a couple more to get off the books. Keep working ya magic BM. MOT, Vinny.

Just an idea, but why don't we try and nab Paul Anderson from Bristol City if other targets don't work out? They seem interested in a player swap emanuel thomas from Ipswich has been heavy on their site. Offer say Varney + 500k could do the deal. Anderson fairly young hence the sizeable sum in addition to Varney

Without wanting to add fuel to the fire, has everyone seen David Haighs new profile picture on twitter?

Anyone know when the squad numbers could be announced? Would give a good indication of what positions BMcD sees us bringing in players and who he wants to move on if they don't get a squad number.

Now I am not saying I know anything but I had a little thought.

All the rumours surrounding redbull, do any of us think that this could have something to do with naming rights to a stadium. For example, the redbull stadium at elland road. Now I heard something or read somewhere that their is a loophole in the fairplay rules where money from naming rights is somehow differant and can be used for players with no consequences. Just a thought. Ed am I right with that statement or am I talking poop {Ed013's Note - I will have to do some research on this, as far as I can remember it is 6 million of the chairman or club owners money can be spent before profit made this season mate}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Where's the red bull rumour coming from?

Agree0 Disagree0

David haigh said he was working on something significant (other words used) and since then he's following multiple red bull accounts

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly think this will happen. I can't imagine them just paying to become board members when they are a massive company world wide. Its either a full take over or stadium naming rights deal. that's what I think anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Any investment is good, apart from KB ofcourse.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stadium naming is like any other form of sponsorship if the club owners want to name the stadium for say 200 million for 5 years then it should show as a hefty profit on the books and therefore be available to spend within the ffp rules

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds good enough for me lol

I'm a happy leeds fan as I guess many of you are right now but I want to get serious. I know we are in aw of the signing we made in murphy, (yes 1 million spent, get in) but is that it? Is that the only signing over 1 mil we will make this summer?
More to the point is there investment? I hope as much as the next fan there is some major investment. There's a lot of rumours too but is this just because of the hype from the signings?
I hope to god it's not just from the Morison loan. I hope to god we show even more ambition and buy another player that shows ambition.
And as I imagine all of you do, I hope we keep the players we have of quality. I want to enjoy these times but I can't help feeling its not happening as clearly as we see it. Maybe it's just because I'm a leeds fan and were used to the s**t we usually get.
If there is a god I hope he has finally decide we've had enough unnecessary punishment.
Please let there be investment, and please let us show more real ambition in the coming transfer window.
Don't all slag me off, I understand we should be great full and I'm not trying to put a downer on things I just wanna know if its going to be this good from now on.

Brian has just said that by the 13 th of July he hopes he will have signed at least two more players, so far he has contacted the players and the agents and now has to negotiate terms with the clubs. This is a great sign, as obviously investment Is needed to pay for these players. If similar investment to the murphy signing is not there, than I'm sure brian would rather venture in to the free market as a few good players are there however if he has money to play with than he can get quality from other clubs

News Today:
Crystal Palace are to offer 3 million pounds for Sam Byram.
In similar news:
An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotdsman walk into a bar.

Get real Palace! If you subject that as a bid then you really are having a laugh.
Notes to your board.
1) Ken Bates is no longer in charge.
2) The player has genuine integrity and has stated that he is very happy at the club ( why wouldn't he be, being at this club is improving his career enormously )
3) The manager does not want to sell him unless it's silly money (silly high money by the way, not silly low offer, like yours).
4) The new owners are at a period where they are trying to court the fans back to the ground by showing things have changed (refer back to point 1)
5) Your not Norwich!
6) Your not big enough!
7) You, Norwich and Blackpool will no longer get our players on the cheap (refer back to point 1)

I would put quite a few up for sale depending on how much investment is meant to be coming our way, hopefully a good amount.
Pugh, Brown, Drury, Norris, Hall, Pearce, Varney.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I know hall wasant brilliant last year but I think he'll play his fair share of games this year and hopefully do well

Agree0 Disagree0

I only ever saw a glint of potential in him, and that was against Millwall but every player has a rare good day. Even michael brown, perhaps habibou if only we kept hold of him. Get rid of hall he was barely good enough for Southend waste of money

Agree0 Disagree0

We might get a small fee for pugh and pearce but the others would have to be free transfers. Plus i'd keep drury for another year and would keep hold of pearce. Vinny.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think we should get rid of him. If anything he was too goo for Southend, scored the majority of their goals and had best assists record in ENGLAND that season, so he obviously has something, we should give him a chance pre-season at least

Gayle to Palace - £6m
Zaha to - £15m
What does that make Byram worth?
I would be more disapointed if Rossco left than Byram.
Lets have a heated debate.
MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Every player has their price.
Byram= at least 7mill I mean come, it's really obvious.
McCormack= Ahaha not 1 mil. Brian would be stupid to sell him this season. He's our best player behind byram and instrumental to the team. At least 2 mill pushing 2. 5. He has a fairly new contract and is a key player. If we are expecting to progress this season we must keep him, FULLSTOP.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jul 2013 19:36:41
I would av driven dross McCormack anywhere he want to go (so overrated) but if the alternatives the goal machine known as Noel hunt i'd rather keep dross!

Agree0 Disagree0

Gayle was 4.5 million according to tv and 500,000 was added on to pay his former club dagemham

Agree0 Disagree0

If we sold mccormack for his value of around 3- 3.5 million, I highly doubt we could get a player of his quality and standard so we should never sell him

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree that Ross' true value is around 2-2.5 mill. The prob is he's worth more than that to us in the role he plays and we couldn't get a suitable replacement without having to shell out more. Add to that the fact Ross is probably a key piece to Brian's plans.
There's no way Ross will go for less than 3mill, unless we've plenty of cash available to improve or Ross wanted to go.
The Fat Man

Agree0 Disagree0

If we could get Mackay-Steven, Roger Johnson, Tommy Rowe & Albrighton (loan) from selling Ross, I'd let him go.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jul 2013 22:37:39
No I would have driven him there! Massively overrated misses too many sitters to be a goalscorer. In a genuine promotion chasing squad he would be a good impact sub but no better!

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't sell either most likely, and if ross was to go BM would want atleast 2 million to play with. Plus neither sam or ross want to leave, especially to smaller clubs ie blackpool, vinny.

As a Leeds fan, Bryam is a future England Player.
And NOT for sale. look at some of the players currently playing for England, leeds sold them for peanuts. A lot of fans think small and would be happy to sell for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 mil. But I say Bryam is priceless for Leeds and like the other younger players coming thro. will be some thing that LU can build for the future and rule the PL

Here is a few player's to have a think about, no solid rumours just a bit of logical thinking.
Jan Mucha- Had a good little run of games in the Everton side in my opinion playing very well he won't be on 'stupid' wages plus he is available on a free which is a positive!
Jerome Thomas- Very good championship player (if he drops down a division) available on a free had a loan spell with us think palace may get him but stranger things have happened at Elland Road!
Simeon Jackson- Also a freebee very pacey always seems to score when I watch him, similar build to noel hunt haven't really compared there playing styles but another striker would be good.
Gary Mackay-Steven- Would be a smashing signing 1-2 million would be enough in my opinion but it has been rumoured it could be even less! love to see it happen.
Rodger Johnson- I think he has been listed by wolves along with Karl Henry (maybe even worth a pun?) and a couple others. Johnson hasn't shown the potential at wolves that he once showed at Birmingham I still think the likes of Tom Lees and Sam Byram can learn plenty off him and he wouldn't break the bank to bring him here (don't know how much he is on though?)
Well there is my 5 targets hope to see at least one of those players in!

IMO we need to really get rid of some dead wood from our squad this summer: White, Hall, Drury, Norris & Pugh, the latter 2 being already linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday and White linked with a host of Championship clubs. Also I would listen to offers for Varney, Green and Peltier if, and only of, they were sizeable, and use any and all money received on a couple more quality additions.

To all the people complaining about the current signings saying we've bought to many strikers from what I can see is that his plan will be to have smith and hunt upfront, and have McCormack in a right midfield position. I think the next signing will be a winger to play on the left wing. Possibly Stephen Hunt. Murphy will play in his natural centre midfield position. Think we also need a decent CB and then could have a very strong squad.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Jul 2013 17:39:34
So Crystal Palace believe that Sam Byram is worth a reported £2. 5-£3million. yet are willing to pay £8.5million (the same price one Loic Remy cost QPR [€10million]) for Dwight Gayle?? Their scout must be smoking some strong stuff! Have to say I think we may have a contender in the battle to beat Derby's all time low of 11 points next season.

What's so wrong with paddy in net he is a sound keeper for this league
We need to spend money in other places than net
He had an alright first season good shot stopper can not understand why people want a new keeper
Surely wingers and a leader in defence next to t lees is more important

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree. Don't know why there is so much opposition to him, He is better than most in this division. Money would be better spent elsewhere

The only reason I can think of is for the animosity towards Kenny is his close association with Warnock.

Just seen the shirt numbers the 3 new players have been allocated Luke Murphy has got number 4, Noel Hunt No 10 and Matt Smith no 20. I'm quite surprised Smith hasn't got the number 9 shirt vacated by Morison on his season's loan to Millwall. It begs the question then who is going to get the number 9!? Do you think that there's another big signing in the offing?

I'm wondering who is next after completing Hunt. Got to be 2 wingers and 2 central defenders my opinion. Wingers obvious but we need to fill void left by Kissa and Bromby. Upson and Mills will do just nicely. If we do acquire 2 good wingers, say Adomah and Mackay-Steven, wonder if we will use Austin in a utility sub role and prefer Green in defensive midfield to form an Irish central midfield with Murphy? Green has done well in that position for Ireland.

May seem like the optimist but I'm chuffed with our business so far. Morrison was rumoured to be on 17k a week would much rather have hunt who will run his plums off every week. Will he be used on the wing or up front though? Still feel we need another striker, a winger and CB for squad to be complete. Se Blackpool's in for 1mill bid for McCormack. Am I the only one thinking it might be wise to cash in as option is there, and Rossi still has status of first team player? A million seems like decent offer. Ok, he had a horrific half season two years ago, and scores the occational stunner. But overall: is he good enough for BMD's new Leeds, and will he get regular playing time in the season coming? I think probably not - I'd be disappointed if our squad in sept not better than McCormack starting games! Then better loading off and cashing in, and let gaffer use the money on HIS kind of player!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No way. He is the best player we had last year-behind byram of course- and I think will be the player Brian is building for, on the floor passing football. by the way I don't think we would even let him go for 1.5 mill and I hope we dont.3 mil at least and that's a push. We better keep him.

Mate of mine a big Reading fan, gutted Hunt not given the 2 year deal he wanted at Reading, only offered 1 year deal. Says he will come to Elland Rd when they play us just to see him, they loved him at Reading because of his commitment, work rate and the way others played off him. If he had been a natural goalscorer as well he would have been at one of the big teams. He says that he was their Tallisman and BMc would have kept him if he was still manager.
So come on, let's welcome him as we have Smith and Murphy, they are all Leeds now. MOT
