Jesus, this new geezer Cani scoring record is worse than mine!

I believe and am hoping he is an Ian Baird type with constant unselfish service to teammates. I remember once Bairdy went about 25 games without scoring but he wasn't dropped because we were playing well with him in the side.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is he heskey in disguise is he heskey in disguise

Agree0 Disagree0

BW. Be careful you don't get repetitive strain injury!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it was a chant
I think it was a chant

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yeah Aussie, I see now
Probably needs a bit of work on it, but BW is a busy man. Some work at Coventry with a mate of his or something?

Agree0 Disagree0

Always busy in January so many clubs fighting for my signature

Someone tell me as I dnt see much academy football surely we must have a young winger whos nearly ready to break into first team if not I would bring ajose back and try him on wing seems to be on a hot spot at mo?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Feb 2015 22:17:12
I still dnt get why we brought cani in when we got morrison taking up big money and probably better in the central area as a target man if given the chance to supply mirco and sharpy?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree mate.

Hope Cani proves all the doubters wrong however looking on the bright side he can do no worse than Noel Hunt and is probably on a smaller wage win-win?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Shame we didn't get woolford, I watch millwall a lot and rate him, think he would of got a lot of goals from cani and sharpe, that said I would not want to see auncci dropped and still think he has real quality in a poor team

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree bermondsey! When we played millwall last season, woolford gave us the run around and was the best player on the pitch. Shame MC has no knowledge of English football!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I know the fans really rate him and everytime I have seen him play he has made things happen, not going to set the world alight but considering our finacnes would of been great, we have sharpe and cani but who will find their heads or make things happen for them? on a better note millwall fans not happy with tounge so been ribbing them which has made me very happy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully byram, Mowatt and Charlie Taylor will start whipping in some decent balls. Maybe white should be given a chance on the left wing under redfearns guidance? There is still the emergency loan window anyway if that doesn't work out.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can should be able to sign better players than 29 year olds from Millwall.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree if he was that good? Why are Millwall willing to let him go?

Agree0 Disagree0

Think great point about white, I think up the pitch he could be very dangerous, people keep saying we need pace and that boy could catch pigeons! with millwall letting him go, they didn't he stayed maybe he is good. also sometimes clubs make mistakes. Look how many leeds have made the most recent one being matt smith

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Ali but White could not cross a road! No place for him in this team

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2015 00:15:30
Correct Notts. White is at best a competent League One player and nothing more. His pace is his asset but not much else.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to say it makes me laugh a little people are crying out for a winger but reject all possible outcomes, if we need a winger give white a chance, if nothing else he scores when forward, when we lost to hudderfield a couple of years back he was our goal scorer and by far our best player, a goal against everton also showed promise. White may of imporved as still young surely worth a couple of games, same with woolford would of been good imo but surely worth a shot if we are so in need of a winger?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bermondsey, it makes me chuckle when facts are distorted to prove a point. You have highlighted two examples of where White has scored to suggest that he could be our left winger, unfortunately you have missed out the fact that these are the only two goals that White has scored in 75 appearances for the Club (spanning over 7 years). Admittedly the majority of these appearances have been at left back or coming off the bench however White has been given ample opportunity to play as a winger, specifically under Brian McDermott, and I can vouch that when he has played he has not been good enough. I validate this by saying although he is quick he does not know how to use his pace, on the wing he is not prepared to receive a ball down the line as he generally stands directly facing the passer and therefore is facing the wrong direction to attack, this leads him to play the easy pass (usually back to defence). White has worked under 6 managers during his time at the club and not one of them has managed to get consistently good performances out of him. I think it is time to give others in the squad a chance to play left wing (i.e. Adryan or Montenegro) and put White out to pasture with all the other donkeys

Agree0 Disagree0

This may be true to be honest I was at the huddersfield game and saw the everton game on telly, I do not see leeds much so it might just be a case that when I saw him he was generally lively and good. I do have to take the word of people like yourself who have seen him more. I would say he was young played as left back and only given bits of play here or there. I would like to give him one more chance and let him know it is do or die. I would prefer to get a winger like phillips in but if we fail that I would like to see a bit of pace and give white a chance over the dross that has been happening this season, if it don't work it don't matter as this season is now pretty much over so give a few players one more chance. also play taylor and the likes to give them time when we can not go up and looks unlikely we will go down, he who dares.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2015 13:47:23
Well lads & lasses, we managed to keep all our young guns & get rid of the dross too so that in itself is great for our club. Would've liked to get a winger in though. We have little Cookie who has a bit of speed about him albeit not on the wing, however when he has his bursts he needs to pass pass pass. I'm sure he will get much much better as he is so young & then he'll be off ha ha

Believable0 Unbelievable0

True Liver
But just imagine when Cookie does go, how much more we will get for him than we would have under previous regimes.
A speedy winger would have been the icing on the cake

cani is tall doesn't score a lot could be cause not played been sub but if he is the type of player who wins ball in air knocks it down well and then ideal for corners could be good we have mirco to run on and poss sharp it would give them different roll so let's wait and see it could be another bec and beckford now that would be brill if we had that again time will tell so fingers crossed could turn our season round and start scoring once that happens no stopping us be good to see 3/4 each week rather than lucky if we get one

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes upup
I've seen comments elsewhere that he doesn't score or create many. But a 6ft 4 inch nuisance in the opposition box taking 2 or 3 defenders to watch him might be just what the likes of Billy and Mirco need

Speedy
You mean like the 6ft 3 Striker Steve Morison that we currently have at our club?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2015 17:10:56
Not when he's wearing his heels

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2015 17:35:47
Morison is 6ft 2" and to be honest I don't think he looks that either! But in my opinion, height does not always equate to a good header and I think Morison's strength is holding the ball up and bringing others into play, rather than flicking headers on for others like Becchio did.

Agree0 Disagree0

Valley:
An extra inch can make a big difference (or so I'm reliably informed)

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2015 11:18:28
thought morison was 6 2 and he doesn't win many balls in air if you look at him I thought 6ft doesn't put himself around enough and should be winning balls in they area when sharp scored he was in box morison was 15yrds out question is why wasn't cenre forward in mix but in was first to get to sharp when he scored wrong time for effort

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2015 08:48:24
wow Norris gone at last been here 30 mths not played at least 18mths games 36 he should of gone start of last year like morison been here 2yrs played dozen games hangers on of money never going to play wating wages which could be better spent no wonder we are losing money throwing in away on players who will never play

Agree about great to offload more deadwood and also well done to Austin and sharp ( not my fav player but ) for not moving. Yes speedie. We seem to have a group of players who want to play for us
But. But. But. But
Still no speed and I'm not convinced it is wise just to shop abroad. Hope these three turn up trumps but getting a bit concerned so many foreigners!
Oh well. Hope I'm wrong. Usually am.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Feb 2015 10:32:35
we have to get rid of deadwood fair comment but we have to stop buying more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aussie. I share your concerns re foreign players (although personally if they are good enough, I like a multi national team)
But when they started, MC and Salerno did say they wanted to develop a team with predominately English players, but that in the short term this would not be possible as all their experience and contacts were abroad, mainly in Italy of course. I think as time goes on we may see them recruit over here more often - but of course they will not pander to the stupid wage demands/transfer fees/agents fees that most players come with. Just think of Risdale and then imagine exact opposite and that seems to be where they are coming from.

Although I am not a fan of building a team around loan players, it is where we are financially and we needed to sort that first. Loan players also provide the chance to look before you buy which is a plus. My biggest concern is that if we don't identify enough quality or that quality is not interested in staying, then, we are building from scratch in closed season. The only saving grace is the young guns who might be the key as they have been together for some time and still have the passion and drive to succeed. You never know what's going on behind the scenes but I think we are on the brink of greatness - not tomorrow, but I just have a good feeling. I will buy shares if we can get rid of GFH but we need to sell to gain investment! Let's hope this run continues and we can get a result at the weekend.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said PP. I'd have a punt too.
And I'll gladly pay uncle Ken's one way air fare to anywhere very far away and very remote

Agree0 Disagree0

The only problem with loan signings are as you say PPeacock they are not the long answer. Unless we agree a fee with the parent football club then if a loan signing does well it attracts the interests of other clubs & we could lose out or be forced to pay more than we originally intended.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't understand why so many people are being so negative about the summer signings, as it is generally recognised that the foreign player would need time to adapt to the championship.

I think we have got a good (young) squad now with lots of promise. We just need to climb up the table a bit and get through this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

The foreign players have struggled to acclimatise to the demands of the championship however this can come with time. Unfortunately as Cellino has tried to integrate so many at the same time it has adversely affected the results on the pitch (which is what matters). I think the foreign players we have are technically superior to the likes of Tonge, Norris, Varney, Pearce etc. but may require a second season to prove that fact. The trick is to balance the foreign flair with the muck and bullets approach of british/championship players

Agree0 Disagree0

Have they struggled? Silvestri has been a revelation, Antenucci and Doukara have scored 15 between them Bianchi was top of the tackling/passing charts, Bellusci has scored 2 and has done alright, Berardi has been solid when not sent off. They ll continue to improve also

Agree0 Disagree0

I bought shares in 2000 and thanks to Risdale and administration they were worthless. I still have the share certificate- wonder if that is worth anything?

Agree0 Disagree0

Should be worth the paper it's written on jump
Contact the Papa and see if he wants to honour them. Good luck with that one!

Agree0 Disagree0

Might frame it for nostalgia purposes

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye jump.
Probably best.

All in all a good window imo, all our youngsters left intact, high wage earners off the payroll (Hunt, Norris, Pearce etc), spine of the team looks much stronger. Cani is an interesting addition, hope he does well.
Not too bothered about not signing a winger yet as the loan market opens again in a couple of weeks time. Gives the decision makers a chance to see what is on offer, but I hope we loan one or two reasonable ones.
First time in a while I've got a quiet confidence for the future MOT. Speedo4eva.
