My own personal preference would be Dicanio as manager I don't think any player no matter how big would be allowed to turn in a bad performance without being dropped. The crowd would love his passion, I think Nw is a little devoid of ideas Grayson God bless him could change a game with his substitutions and quite often did Warnock dithers and makes them too late often swapping like for like GHF being honest we need a fresh start let Nw see out the season get Dicanio in as soon as seasons over invest, ent structure passion fair ticket pricing policy will get us the crowds back and a real shot at PL

Id like to ask a question please don't say it's obvious buti would really like to know Leeds fans different reasons for staying away. Doesn't matter what it is but would be good to get to the main reason for everyone? In league 1 our average gate was 27,000 it's not 19,000 so what's happened to the 8,000 missing average? I'm a ST holder and would just love to know what would bring you back and no I'm not David Haigh or Saleem Patel

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Now that you mention Haigh and Patel, are you including them in the missing total? Would be interested in hearing why they are never seen (or heard)

I'm also a season ticket holder. From my own experience my brother refused to buy his season ticket this year because he said he was bored of the average football on show. Instead he bough a new PC and Football Manager, so all I get is a running monologue on how his pretend team are doing whilst I attend the real thing. Please stop being sad and staying at home y'all. This means some 8,000 people each Saturday having to find something equally tedious to do. Come back to where you belong. Elland Road all is forgiven.

I go to games but am really frustrated at seeing players that seem to have no passion for the club, where are the vinny jones, batty's & bremners, people who motivate those around them to perform, we need our players to want to play for Leeds United & our fans will return once they see the desire, passion & effort is there.

Loyal fan who has supported for over 40 years, I have followed Leeds to various destinations and even flew back from South Africa to watch them play for 1 weekend. Up until last season I have travelled up from Reading to home games leaving at 8am and returning home at 10pm, Its impossible to count how much in £££'s over the years with new shirts etc. But I have probably saved about £2000 at least.

After the last season and a half, with no investment in the playing team, I decided on principle not renew my membership until investment in the team happens and I don't mean loan signings, or players at the end of their career's. when the club show some investment in quality players in their mid 20's I will be back.

SO from my point of view. the management of LUFC need to show some passion, desire and investment.

If you don't think we are going to get promoted from what you have seen this season then you are not being negative you are being realistic, if you think we are going to get promoted with this dumb manager and his crap players then you ain't being positive you are just being stupid and thick. To realise you have problems so they can be adressed you firstly have to have the intelligence to identify them, then you can move forward and solve those issues. If you don't have or do this then you just carry on the way we have been for 2 seasons treading water. If you think this is ok then you carry on 'believing', the rest of us who live in the real world will identify these problems and dicuss how to solve them, on a forum a bit like this one!

I must say looking at our fixtures for February and March and looking at our squad it doesn't fill me with great confidence.

I know some people will say we're only 2 games off the play offs which is fair enough but at the same time we're only 3 games away from a relegation battle.

Do many people honestly believe we can actually make the playoffs this season under Warnock?

I personally don't see what improvements Warnock has brought to us in relation to any aspect since he's been in charge.

Obviously people will disagree which they're entitled to but to those that genuinely believe in Warnock could they please point out what ways we have improved under him without the ranting about have faith he knows how to get teams promoted as he has in the past. I'm talking purely about his reign in charge of us?

Why should we get more points second half of season than first? For those that think beating spurs gives us 10 points are wrong. For those that think we don't need a winger and creative midfielder because we beat spurs, are wrong.
For those that think we will get promoted with warnock as manager because we beat spurs, are wrong.
Look how crap spurs really are!
I am not sure if gfh are witholding funds because they now know warnock is best dressed in a white jacket. Or purely cause they haven't got any money but I know we need. Pace. Skill. And creativity

Totally agree with you mate, I am fed up with people walking around with rose tinted glasses! this long ball, long ball, long ball and sub standard defensive midfielders taking long range shots that either hit the corner flag or a defender is driving me mad! please mark my words, we will not be promoted with warnock, varney, austen, diouf and kenny in or around the team! they are simply not good enough! when you look at the facts, these 4 players alone cost 2 weeks of ashley coles wages! free transfers are generally because they are rubbish and no one wants them!and I also wish diouf and varney would stop trying to hide the fact they are has beens and slow by constantly trying for free kicks and going down! its not football and I long to see my team play properly!

Why wouldn't we get more points in 2nd half. we played poor in 90% of the 1st half season in league but look better now. defence seems to have been sorted out. all we have to do is get some consistency.
Austin has already played a full season. the pre season prepares the players to complete the season ahead which was the Norway league or where ever. if I was Warnock I would only play Austin every other game.
I think we will just get play offs this season

Agree2 Disagree3

I had already had enough of warnock in December but thought I'd give him a chance after the window. The fact that he then did not go and bring in a creative central midfielder and a good wide player is shocking to be honest, he either does not have a clue or is just stupid, I think a mixture of both! Sorry another season wasted I'm afraid. See you next season as I cannot waste anymore money and time on this poor excuse.

Question for anyone that was at the match yesterday. How did Habibou play when he came on? I know he didn't get on long but did he look a prospect? Did we play any football or was it the dire long ball? Watched Football league show and didn't look like Cardiff had many chances. A draw would have been a good result! We really have to win the game in hand!

Pity we didn't get Burke in either, he's 1st goal yesterday was a cracker.
IrishWhite. MOT

Believable4 Unbelievable2

For me habibou looked awful, he ran around like a headless chicken and looked out of his depth at this level, just another bargain basement pile of rubbish, I hope he proves me very wrong but I fear he will be returning to belgium or maybe a conference side in the future! lol

Agree4 Disagree0

Harsh to judge this early, but it wasn't encouraging.

Agree4 Disagree0

Habibou got 20 mins or so. Barely touched the ball; out-headed, out- muscled and ran around like the proverbial chicken with its head chopped off. That said, early days for him and tough to come on for debut at that time when losing to league leaders. Needs more than he got yesterday before a verdict is given but it did put me back to the Venables days when we bought in a series of unheard of foreign players who just weren't up to it.
I thought we did ok yesterday; passed q well and the only difference between the sides was 2 great reaction saves by their keeper, the Sam Byram gaffe ( just one of those things) the penalty we didn't get for handball. I fear we're going nowhere with NW but we've played a lot worse than yesterday on too many occasions this season for me to have any reason to criticise our performance against Cardiff.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Feb 2013 18:05:01
Habib was very average, missed headers and didn't really manage any real touch of significance in the 20 minutes he was on.

Having said that however, it is harsh on the fella as it was his first game in the country, so far too early to judge. In my opinion neither side deserved the win, we should of had a couple and we could of easily come away with the victory. Also their two centre halves were dominant and Burke would of been a great signing.

Teej

Agree2 Disagree0

He looks awful, not even at the races, and am I surprised? no, not when I look at the last bargain we bought from that league. Austin god he is so poor. yes we need a winger but the problem lies in the
midfield, barkley is young and inconsistent the others
are ball winners and have no one with vision to give the ball to, hence no cutting edge, the fact we don't
have a winger means we are easy to stiffle

Believable7 Unbelievable1

dont know why people are saying we are out of this season now. we have a game in hand over most people so if we got at least a draw against wolves and win the game in hand we could be straight back in there. and the average teams in the league we still need to play at home like peterbrough, blackpool, burnley, brighton, derby, huddersfield, shef wed, so if we can get another home run going we are easily back in it.

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Would love to agree mate, but we are one of those average teams too, got to start building for a real push next season. But the great thing is, sooner rather than later, we will be back!

because every loves a good moan, if we lose a game there straight on here moaning about warnock and saying who we need, then we win and there moaning we didn't win well enough! I understand what everyone is moaning about i'm not saying we have a fantastic side and that warnocks the man who will get us into the premiership, just think that we all need to get behind the team after all we have been in a lot worse positions than we are now and the still is a little hope yet!

Agree2 Disagree3

03 Feb 2013 12:11:36
I am struggling to see why austin is in the team. he should have been replaced yesterday. Against wolves he needs to be replaced by green or norris. Also why have three central midfielders on the bench. Hall or poleon or both should be on the bench. Some pace in the last 20minutes when teams are getting leggy. wow i'm good I should be the manager. lol.

Believable17 Unbelievable3

I have often wondered ( injuries excepted) why teams don't bring on 3 quick subs with 15 mins to go? I know we can't cause we have t got 1 2 or 3. But?

Agree1 Disagree1

I actually felt that Green should have come on for Barkley with 20minutes to go. Barkley had a poor game yesterday. One of Warnocks shortcomings is his inability to change his team or tactics. He's not very dynamic. One of the good points for Grayson was his ability to make decent substitutions at the right time. We had a lot of possession yesterday, but no end result, it was obvious by 70 minutes we needed to change it up, only Warnock could not see that.

Agree10 Disagree4

Green should be starting,

Agree3 Disagree0

Austin has been awful most of the season. Slow, gives the ball away most of the time, often in the wrong position, poor decsision making (terrible tackle to get his yellow card yesterday). Now if we had nobody on the bench I could understand this a bit but to not make a substitution at all when you've got Tonge, Green and Norris (all better footballers than Ausin) just highlights either Warnock's stuborness or ineptitiude. The annoying thing is that with a few small changes (you can't legislate for Byram's error) we could've won yesterday. Sorry Rodolph, you've had enough games now and time to let someone else play. Hopefully he'll come back next season better. Austin and Brown out. 2 of Tonge/Norris/Green in.

Agree7 Disagree0

Weeks ago I stated on hear that austin is not cutting it for us, green or norris should be playing ahead of him.

Agree6 Disagree0

03 Feb 2013 12:00:02
Am I missing something here? Warnock says he is a fan of wide players and we have none or should I say none that he will play (Hall). So he goes and spends our budget on another left back when we have Drury (yes I know he's injured)but he never played him when he wasn't and also we have White so correct me if I'm wrong but a winger should have been our first signing. Then we don't get Burke because Birmingham were asking too much. Well if he didn't waste money on Hall Hall & Tonge then we could've afforded him. Big mistake if you ask me. .

Believable12 Unbelievable6

03 Feb 2013 12:59:51
They were asking 750000 for a player out of contract in summer, I don't think it was a question of not being able to afford him but why spend 750000 now when you can get him for free in a few months!

Agree8 Disagree7

03 Feb 2013 13:22:45
we could of afforded burke but the fee was too much. warnock was needed and is a better option than drury.
hall will get his chance but warnock feels he's not fit enough yet. tonge is a good player at this level and is only not in the team because we had just won 3 in a row before the Cardiff game.
we defo need 2 wingers now to push for the playoffs.
we have performed better in the games against spurs and cardiff.
we have a pretty solid squad now just needs a little tweak

I am the original poster and although I agree with most comments I am inclined to agree with the comment that Burke will go for free to another club in the summer and unless we have somekind of agreement in place with him then we have risked losing him. Habib Habibu A little harsh maybe but this guy looks like a pub player, He make Michael Ricketts look like the best signing we have ever made. We got rid of dead wood and just brought more in, He should stick to duck abuse!!!

Believable11 Unbelievable15

If we play like that week in week out we will make playoffs, we still lack pace and we should get a winger or even two as diouf can't last most of the match and barkley cannot be played on the wing or he will not be loaned back as that is not his position. Our defence is solid despite the mistake. I feel McCormack out too much pressure on himself to score so in the end he didn't, I feel Austin should spend some time in the development squad as he clearly is not himself, he never runs he only shoots and now he can't even do that. Green is actually a good player and should be played ahead of Austin and tonge should be given a chance. Both of them have a good eye for goal and they have ten goals between them and they play the passing game. Habibou didn't dio much and he seemed nervous and he never got in good positions to shoot or even create a chance. The attendance was very dissapointing and GFH are not helping themselves not investing when they said their main objective was too get the fans back. However if we carry on playing like that and put away our chances we will be getting playoffs. MOT KENT WHITE

i watched johnson play realy well and snodgrass rip qpr apart before making my way to a half empty elland road to watch us loose dispite one of our best performances of the season. the people who say we should move on and forget about bates are right but the fact is that we are left with the reality of his agenda. I hope that gfh realise that there are thousands of leeds fans out there who would have loved to have been at the match but could not afford it or would not pay the prices on principal. I beleive we would have won yesterday with a 30,000 crowd. leeds fans feed off each other and the effort of the players would of inspired the crowd. its no good moaning at gfh a lot of damage has been done to the team and the fans feel disenfranchised from the club. bates made 20m out of us by charging us a fortune for tickets and selling our best players who could see what he was doing. the last 10 years will be in our history forever, but we have to get 100% behind gfh and look to the future, I am as impatient as any leeds fan but we got to stop moaning and look to the future MOT

Believable18 Unbelievable3

I agree with a lot of what you wrote, but you say look forward to the future, how do we do that when the manager doesn't talk past the end of season and owners that seem to have vanished without a trace. GFH are more than happy to take our cash so I don't think a few words of direction would be too much to ask

Agree9 Disagree0

Op here. in the transfer window we swapped a player and got money and I think we signed the better player and signed an ex england player both contracted for the next few seasons after this one and neither would have signed for peanuts. unfotuanately the team has been neglected so its needs rebuilding but we won't do it over night, especialy in the january transfer window. its just to early to criticise them, they have made a huge financial commitment in buying our club so we have to give them time. I know recent years have been fustrating but if the next few are the same what's the point in paying so much for the club. we will have to wait to judge them but I hope they realise the finances of a lot of people have changed since we were averaging 39'000 in the prem and even 25,000 in the 1st division.

Was at the game against cardiff. We played better and loked the better side for the most part without any real cutting edge. There was much talk about the problem of playing Austin and Brown together. Brown played well I thought doing what he is good at- Austin got about but wasn't great. The major problem was that Ross Berkeley, who was brought in to give some premiership class and creativity was exceptionally poor. This was not just that he missed a 'sitter' and gave the ball away that led to the goal (albeit it was Byron's mistake the was the final one). He was slow thinking, his control was laboured and he was out of the game for long periods. I believe that if the team that played against Spurs had started we would have probably won. Cardiff were not that good. Cynical and bad tempered '. yes' Good 'no'. I assume there is something in Berkeley's loan deal that says he has to play so he can fit and have first team experience. Apart from his first game he has done very little.

Believable9 Unbelievable9

difference at this top Cmapionship level was clear to see today - when a side like cardiff organize and pack their half - you get 1 or 2 chances if you are lucky! . and zero time or space in the box. . Morrison will take those chances when he's fit - Habib looked totally off the pace & lost today - he'll be better when he's hopefully fitter and getting more space and time But If you watch Lg 1 games it appears there is more time and space as players are slower. still think Sommer should play - he can finish! we need that. good game and better - much much better

not being funny but its amazing people on here can still moan at that perfomance, we was playing top of the league if barkley scores that sitter we would have won it, it makes me sick

Don't mean to state the obvious but seen as Cardiff got one goal and as you say we got one goal that would have been a draw?

no because if barkley scored the game would have been a different story so they might not of scored

All ifs & buts. Even though Leeds did ok, Cardiff are the ideal Championship outfit. Solid at the back, strong midfield with pace up front. You will always get a chance/mistake at Championship level. Cardiff are solid & just play the percentage game! We had nobody with pace to get around the back, again. ala Burke or Thomas, regardless of Burke been out of contract, where's our ambition as this is the type of player we desperately need NOW. Without Thomas we wouldn't of beat Palace or Leicester, against top sides we need that bit of extra quality, sadly yesterday & most of the season we haven't had it!

our goal difference is now going to play a part in whether we get a place in the play offs or not, losing today is not the end of the world but when we win games from now on it will have to be by two or more goals.

Told ya so. Habibou. useless. Maybe he hates ducks because he's jealous and thinks he's the only one who should have webbing between his toes? Total waste of space today.

He arrived on Thursday, I can't imagine the Belgian league being much kip, give the lad a break, he seemed to have a bit of pave wasn't afraid of going for the ball just his first touch lacked a bit, I'm sure he will come good!

Yes habibou was useless today and looked like he was totally lost. However it was his first game and it's hard coming off the bench so late. Give the guy a chance and judge him in 5 or 6 games. Notwithstanding this you can usually tell if a player is quality or not straight away and personally I don't think he will be given a full contract. What I do think is that Austin is useless and if only we had a creative midfielder and wide man plus Morison we would have a very good team. JD

We can't afford to offer people 5 or 6 games for them to find their feet and a good footballer is good where ever he plays, this fella is poopy plops
