Don't know if we signed him but nick Montgomery opened a butchers in rothwell with paddy kenny earlier today. Any thoughts on this.

He's originally from Leeds mate so probably visiting friends and family

Just a thought guy not a rumour, Paul connoly gven a squad number! Seems very strange to me are we gvng hm a squad number cause we are gong to keep hm as 2nd choce rb(very unlkely), maybe to send a message to an ntrested team that we wll keep hm f a bd s unacceptable(very unlkely as any bd would be acceptable) Ths got me to thnkng could the connolly be matthew from qpr? ed have you heard anything about hm or were he movng to? Mght be way of the mark just hard to explan why he of all people would get a squad number. {Ed013's Note - Only through speculation on here mate}

Connolly injured august so won't be sold so this month so given a number as our only current rb

Just looking at the squad numbers and there seems to be a few missing that were neither release or transfer listed...

Any reason for this do we know. Is it because of injury, or league restriction?

with the squad numbers announced, its clear that NW is looking for a right back (2) and a striker (9) any suggestions? from what ive red lee peltier will be the right back but i for one am excited to see who the striker will be. JIM_LUFC

Squad numbers out, 2,6 & 9 left blank so you don't have to be a genius to see where NW is going with signings. Peltier, CMS + either Boyd or Templeton to fill in the gaps.

Perhaps no.6 will be Martin cranie would be a bit frustrating as I would prefer boyd or templeton but wouldn't be surprised to see it be cranie

Squad numbers are out. Strangely from what I can see, theres no squad numbers for Kisnorbo or Somma, Bromby ?? Not so strangely, no number for Paynter , Nunez , Rachubka. What worries me mosti Connolly DOES have a squad number. Seems we are stuck with him for another year.

I'd be happy to give peltier no 2 tempeltion no 6 and Beckford no 9.

He will be backup

Its rumoured Brighton are close to signing Sam Baldock from West Ham,expect CMS to sign for Leeds at same time.

This isn't a rumour, but why have no championship teams tried to sign Buzsaky? He isn't good enough for the perm but was good for QPR when they were in the championship, does NW have something against him? He would be a great free transfer

Our squad p****s on what we had this time last year. NO matter how much the players cost. But we do need Ross to stay.

Not really this time last season we had a midfield of

howson
clayton
snodgrass

we only needed a defensive mid and we would of had the best mid in league ,now what we got

rogers - unknown
green - not as good as howson or clayton
austin - unknown and unproven
varney - not as good as snoddy

Thats really negative... If you think like that lets go back a year or so to our so called "great" midfield.
Gradel... Released by Leicester, unpredictable.
Johnson. Struggled to get into our league 1 team, went out on Liam to Brighton for half a year.
Howson... Young, promising but inexperienced.
Snodgrass... Struggled to make our team when Larry took over. Complete unknown.
Clayton... Released by Man City... Spent a season on loan at MK Dons and Colchester or was it Peterborough... Anyway, unknown and unproven.

Is our new midfield of Norris, Green, Varney, Austin, White, Brown, Rogers and probably another player better? just depends on perspective. Personally I think it s stronger with more depth, you obviously disagree.

Hi all, posted few times about takeover and although slated initially in may when stated takeover wouldnt be completed till end ov transfer window. Few people started listening as time went on.
I have had an update that, all talks have now halted till transfer window shuts. theres no clitches or anything. All delegence done etc. the only stumbling block is value of club by bates. I stated before they are waiting to see final squad with transfers in and out so true value of player assets can be assessed. Bates is valuing the club based on leeds being a promotion challenging team, faves to go up. Whilst owners currently think team needs more and are unsure of further exits!
the takeover will not even be discussed or commented on till sept 1st!
hope more start to believe now as said this in may and now august. many have posted to br completed tommorow, next wed etc etc and disapear after that date.
Im still here printed what told. although not really commented on transfers before as not really got contacts on that side, i have heard rumblings of warnock main target being rhodes with NW looking to send few other way who grayson wants. Also interest in afobe at arsenal on loan. Speak soon! Leeds forever NB

Nonsense, the final value of the club may reflect the cost and worth of the players, that could be calculated in a matter of hours but you can't sell a club on the likelihood of promotion, anything could happen.

Anyways, take over or not, I'm liking the way things are going irrespective of who's at the top, I don't care if alkhida own the club as long as we keep up the signings MOT

Tbh i hope the transfer in the pipeline is indeed pertier! He looks solid, hes young and for the rumoured £750k i think its good business. Then we have built a back 4 which looks as though it could be tidy for £1.25m!

Also, if we do sign pelts i think it shows a bit of ambition as us and hudds were in the race for him and usually when this is the case due to kenneths ridiculous wage offers we get pipped to the signing by other clubs! I'll be glad if we get him that we've finally landed a long waited target! In Neil i trust!

I see a lot of people placing teams up having CMS replacing Becchio, IMO CMS is a poor mans Becchio, before you all jump on the "Give CMS a chance" bandwagon I am not saying he is rubbish I just believe we have a striker in Becchio that can and more than likely will as has done over previous seasons produce the goods, CMS is a hardworking honest player but I don't feel he has the same strength or goalscoring ability as Becchio. I agree. Becchio had a not so good season last season but I think he'll come storming back this. No replacement needed.

I agree mate a lot of people forgetting we have Becchio! The guy has been one of our best players in the football league years! So obvious he loves the club and with warnock being a huge admirer of him I think we will get a great season from him!

lets face it we are no better off than last season cash wise.ok it may happen but it looks like one in one out,not much of a fee.
smith would prob cost snoddy money in the end so not much change there.
yes couple of good signings,especially pearce who could be a great in the future.
one week till shrews and no flair to set up goals and need someone else besides ross to bang them in.not sure becchio is the same as he was.just my opinion.
now get in smith or beckford,boyd and peltier but keep ross and we look lot better quality wise.im from shrews and wont live down a defeat next week.they are no mugs....shrew leeds

Leeds agreed a fee with foxes for peltier 850 grand we have not spent that sort off money for a long time, let alone on a right back.I can't see Warnock spending nearly all the 1.5 mill we got up front for snoddy on a right back. so money must be coming from somewhere.If your right Neil has left himself 650 grand to buy his 2 big players off the summer

Any news about Leeds trying to sign David Templeton from hearts ed, I think he would be a great replacement for snodgrass! MOT {Ed013's Note - Neil ruled him out, he would demand a transfer fee of around 1 million}

I'd pay that and more cos I think he's class.

Love reading all the posts on here, just shows that football is all about opinions and we leeds fans have opposing yet equally valid ones. I am glad that the eds allow all opinions to be aired that's fair and democratic.

take the varied opinions about CMSmith. If he is really one of NW's targets then I will be happy especially if George Boyd comes too. They linked up well together at Posh and can do so again. Imo we shouldn't compare CMS and Ross's goal tallies for last season different teams, different roles.

If CMS comes to us he might score shed loads of goals, who knows? But at least give the lad a chance and get behind him not slag him off. I think we could be pleasantly surprised this season MOT Ron
