We are sad to announce that in one last act of defiance before being sacked, Steve Evans has eaten the cheese wedge.

POTS

You think we'll organize a pre-season?

Agree0 Disagree1

31 May 2016 21:27:54
Very disappointed in two ways, for one Evans has gone = no consistency poor pre season ahead yet again as coaches that would of dreamt about being Leeds United manager turning down due to bad management. Also because I think Evans did a decent job and deserved another 6 months min. Secondly because of the way he was treated a disgrace and an embarrassment. I wish the honest man well. I will miss him.

β€œThe Club is now looking to appoint a new head coach to build on the good work of Steve and Paul and deliver the special season which our supporters deserve. ”

Part of the statement from the OS. The PR guys must have been up all night thinking of that one!

Agree. Wish him well and he will get a good reception next time he brings a team to ER. And they will probably beat us!

01 Jun 2016 08:27:23
SE can hold his head high with dignity. I was never his biggest fan when it came to football, as his tactics had a little to be desired, but he did everything asked of him, so fair play to the big man. As for bringing teams to beat Leeds Speedy, he didn't have a good track record at ER, so think we could be safe there πŸ˜‰.

Whilst not my first choice as Manager after a while I warmed to Steve Evans. He was passionate about the club and I am sorry to see him go. Steve Evans has been treated very badly by Cellino. The owner is the liability. Not sure I would like Monk at the club. Didn't really think he did that well at Swansea.

It seems the FL are out to get Cellino in any way they can and won't stop until they've banned him. It's being widely reported that he could get a ban over McFlyTipper's transfer - whether this is just lazy hate fuelled journalism remains to be seen. I'm sure other clubs have just got fines so how come we're looking at a ban? Then there's the Adryan debacle which could see him receiving further punishment. I hope he's not got any points on his licence and has paid his leaky bill up to date or that'll be another ban if the FL find out! They may as well just get on with it and ban him for a year and deduct us 15 points while they're at it to get it out of their system because it seems to me they won't stop until they've screwed us over!

MM.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

31 May 2016 19:42:56
Mick

By now we have all realised that 'what other clubs do' don't come into the equation as far as Leeds are concerned?

We got deducted 15 points for 'deliberately going into administration' once we knew we were relegated, despite there being no such rule or deduction for doing so?

Fifa have been found out to be totally corrupt, one day the same will happen with the 'persons' that run the league, they only have one thing at heart, and it's called money (their money obviously) .

No reason why they couldn't have investigated the McScoremack dealings earlier, but I'd like to see them prove how Cellino knew that part of the fee was going to an unlicensed agent? The money from Leeds went to a legitimate agent, what happens after that isn't Cellino (or Leeds United's) responsibility. How do you know where your council tax goes once it's paid?

Some of us can remember a certain George Graham being involved directly with, er, a brown envelope, or two, was he ever banned from running or owning a football club?

We are Leeds, and hated by all, kind of makes it alright, somehow?

Lets hope Cellino does have someone lined up to take over from Evans now he has gone, bit of a 'pi$$er' if the league (totally coincidentally of course) now ban him before he can do that.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2016 20:40:28
My guess is the FL have a statement and/ or other proof from BadgekissingScot's real agent and they've been given immunity in exchange. A fit up to hurt Cellino.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 May 2016 22:00:29
So in reality just one obviously corrupt agent's word against Cellino then? Obviously guilty already.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 May 2016 15:34:46
Garry Monk the new name for coach. Since he's out of work he will surely take the position if offered. Bookies new favourite so it looks like at this stage of the game Monk is the new man. Could be worse.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

31 May 2016 19:44:54
How could it be worse then?

Why is this guy out of work?

Oh, scrub that, doesn't matter if he is cheap and does what he is told, so much for someone 'special'

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2016 20:43:32
Worse is someone who provokes the question "who? " and you conduct an Internet search to find out more.

Worse is someone whose record is comparable to Hockaday.

Worse would also be Gary Neville.

The spin about our advanced season ticket sales needs to be put into perspective - Brighton have sold 26,000.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 May 2016 13:30:32
This seems pretty good if true, especially when that number would appear to be bigger than their average home attendance last season?

Either they must get very low numbers of away supporters or everyone who supports Brighton are season ticket holders, which I suspect is more probably the case, having worked in the area and tried to get tickets to go and watch them?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2016 14:15:17
They only missed out on goal difference this season, have a strong team with a chance of getting up next season. They also have a good manager and the club and playing staff are stable.

We on the other hand, do not know which players are staying or going, do not know who the manager will be. have suffered from a lack of stability for years and briefly dropped into a relegation battle,

With the stark differences I think our 12,000 plus is pretty good.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 May 2016 19:50:03
Yeah, maybe, but like I said, they have allegedly sold 26,000 season tickets and if you take away the 'away' support from last seasons home attendances then they probably never even got that many through the gate?

Not doubting the figures, but most of us can claim things that nobody else can prove or disprove?

Don't have any problem with Brighton, always got on well chatting 'football' with them, but would like to see this figure of 26,000 season tickets proven if someone is going to knock us for managing to get 12 or 13000 two month before the season even starts?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 May 2016 11:43:41
Just a thought. If cellino is down to "Z" on his list, what about Zola. Played for, and managed, Cagliari. Experience of English football. Teams like to play good football. what's not to like?

Let's just see if Reading fill there vacant managers post before any Cellino anouncement?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 May 2016 11:17:18
Cellino in Italy all last week. No anouncement, so no great progress there then. Only a fool would want to work for an owner who thinks he's a manager. Who, when things go wrong cannot fire himself so points the gun at the next in line. It seems a version of that is the done thing, on the Continent, well Italy anyway so omens point to a foreign "coach" taking a sip from the poisoned chalice. Hopefully Cellino is nearing the end of his extensive list. Actually I hoped the list was alphabetical and we had reached that with Zenga?
Anyway as he ploughs on remorselessly, getting doors slammed in his face I wonder if his ego will allow him to see that propective brides are running away from him and not Leeds United. I doubt it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 May 2016 10:10:47
I was a supporter of MC and have backed him having given him the benefit of the doubt. I am however quickly losing patience over the repeated cries of 'I didn't know' or 'I don't understand' to the multiple charges that impact not only him as an individual but to Leeds Utd as a whole. Whilst I get some of the austere measures have put us in a better position and were much needed. He has undone much of the good by his pig headed stupidity ( or so it appears) . Surly all we ask is for him to come clean, appoint a head coach and let's get to what we all want - great football from a great football club with the best fans in the world. Promotion would be fantastic but I would settle for us at least to be in the mix rather than hit and hope mediocrity πŸ‘πŸ».

well a things get any worse . mc bluff with fa sorry don't know what your talking about . your a businessman with lawers etc . so what about fans what are you giving us . your con 25% back if not top 6 . and if we don't make prem your sell . but didn't say what to get to prem . no coach wants to come here players don't want to come here . this is what you have done MC . you are a joke . loads of money but scammer . trying to do things on cheap it doesn't work . hence you've pissed off most of us . one day you might get it right . hopefully we want be in league one by then . as things stand more chance of bottom 6 . and if you get ban from football well good news you will have to sell . do it right by the book or leave our great club.

I must admit. End of season always frustrates me.
There has always been what seems a lack of planning mostly around players and this time manager too!
As we are all hoping the next manager picks his players and not mc, we will have to wait for jig saw to fall in place!
But please don't wait until it's too late. Really hope we get 50% of our main targets!
Gotta do better in market this year than previously. got to go up.
