Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

I think everyone will agree that lees had a poor season but I think its a mistake letting him go would have been decent backup for us most of our defensive issues last season were simply down poor discipline and massive space between back four and midfield if rumours of him going on a free are true find it strange as with a proper coach he would have been fine can only see high wages as the issue how and ever got to move on cellino and salerno i'm sure have something planned feeling optimistic we can have a decent season don't think we will get playoffs or anything but think 8-14 be good as so many italian league players adapting and think the season after this will be our time to shine

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I seem to remember Warnock having a go at him in public after a poor display, he has never recovered, poor management from Warnock though Lees needs to man up. Good luck to him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree stickey poor mangement on warnocks part lees is a bit of a strange one he has all the tools to be a top centre half except the mental side of things when a mistake was made by him last year you could see his confidence dropping until eventually it was non existant think a good sports psycologist could turn lees into a top top player bit disappointed he has been allowed to leave but good luck to him just hope we get a decent replacement

Open message for mr Cellino. We have had broken promises for ten years mr Cellino, hopefully your promise of a 15 million transfer fund is correct mr Cellino . Because we need a centre half, a top class forward and two wingers , Thanking you in anticipation mr Cellino

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - Don't forget the 15 million involves the wage budget}

Grandad
Just because we have £15 mill don't mean we have to spend it straight away.
Id rather wait and get the right player than waste it on a Thomas Brolin!!

Agree0 Disagree0

£15 million isn't a great deal taking into account wages and transfer fees I think that's why we're getting people on season long loans with a view to a permanent deal next season, would give us a chance to build up the war chest as such.

Mass brawl at northern Ireland's match last night. Just looked at the clip where our boy McDaid got sent off along with three Mehicans. The player who took a running kick to the Ireland lad on the floor should be banned for life. disgraceful!

MM

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah just watched it myself, couple of disgraceful mexicans with cheap shots. They want lengthy bans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Mick. That lad isn't a football player, he is a thug, no place for it in the modern game. Kick him out.

So the Spirites chief is disappointed that LUFC management have commented that Chesterfield want "too much" for Cooper.

"Young left-footed centre-backs with the ability Liam has are something of a rarity in the game and we quoted a fee that reflected that. We are not prepared to let one of our key players leave for a cut-price fee . "

It appears that young right footed centre-backs with some ability come for free then. Should manage to replace Lees no problem.

Its nice that a club values their players appropriately.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Let's not let sentimentality cloud our judgement. Homegrown, Leeds to the core or not lees isn't good enough for our club. Can't fault him as a professional but the lad is a liability. Good luck to him

Agree0 Disagree0

There are a number of players in the squad who could be considered as “not good enough for our club”. However we require a squad to challenge.
I have no problems with letting him go, but the move to do it now was both short sighted and doesn’t make financial sense. Yes ok, the fee was probably a make up on his salary. But we have no cover for the 2 CBs at the club and we don’t look like we will bring in with championship experience. God forbid, one or both gets injured and IMHO Wootton is not good enough and he was bought for £1m.
We are still well short of a decent size squad to compete in this league, fine we had to get rid of players, but the same(ish) had to be brought in to replace the holes.
I do concede that Bianchi and Berardi look good, and Doukara could rattle a few defences.

Watched young Dawson play at Glenavon last night. I reckon that young man is one for the future. Ran his socks off and attacked for 90mins - rewarded with 3 goals. Worth a go this season. Also nice to see Healy play again, was well received by all in Mournview Park. ahh the memories of 2005 and England!

The new Italian RB looked assured, but nothing exceptional?

According to ssn, Bristol city are in for agard

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They can fog off. we saw him first! In any case, he seems to want to come to Leeds, which should swing it if MC stumps up the moolah. MOT!

I believe we will be the club to land Agard. Something should happen next week.

Looks like Nile Ranger will be signing for leeds on Friday!

Perhaps MC should nip to Strangeways and sign up Ravel Morrisson, and what's Marlon King up to these days!!

Does anyone else think that the reason we seem to take so long finalising a deal once it is agreed is all down to MC having to see (and probably sign with his mont blanc) all the paperework and agreements?

Cant think what else would be the reason for all of the delays.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I was beginning to think that

All the best Tom Lees. Hope all goes well for you. Sad to see you go.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It is a shame that Timid Tom has left as he had all the attributes to be a top centre back however along with the physical you also need mental attributes to realise that potential. Lees had an inability to concentrate for a full 90 minutes and when he made a mistake you could see the little confidence he had drain from him. It has been noted in other posts that Sheff Wed identify a player, make an offer, agree terms and sign a player in a matter of days whilst we continue to pass about. Granted our targets are overseas however technology has advanced from the pigeon post so I don't except that as a reason for not sorting paperwork

Agree0 Disagree0

He never seemed the same to me after that violent u21 game he was involved in.I was hoping that would be the making of him after what happened

Agree0 Disagree0

If a player is on £5k a week and its a straight sale then the paper work can be done without delay in a matter of hours. However if a player is on more money and it includes bonuses, injury clauses, possible buy out clauses after the loan spell expires or any other amount of pre-contract agreements then this will take CONSIDERABLY longer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where can I find this advanced communication technology? I'm fed up with my pigeons letting me down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Days maybe Andy but not weeks

Agree0 Disagree0

If you are correct Andy, the Viviani contract is going to be longer that War and Peace. I could have read it, and probably written it, while we've been waiting!

Good point and m. You are right. He is best moved on. Cellino doesn't mess about.

Agree0 Disagree0

Should have Harry Rednapp in charge of closing signings he manages to sign three players in the last hour of a transfer widow whilst Leeds take 3 weeks to complete a loan signing. Being based in Italy should delay a transfer for a matter of hours not weeks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Notts
The players we are rumoured to be signing are rumours, hence that's why they are NOT at leeds now. Weve even been linked with players that are out of our league!
DONT believe everything you read ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Andy think you are missing the point, I was referring to the Viviani loan deal. I assume this is not made up?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahhh
Right Notts you NEVER mentioned a name and as we have been linked with EVERY Tom, dick n harry I take everyone with a pinch of salt a lately.
As for Viviani i'm sure MC wants the lad but has the BEST INTERESTS of the club at heart and he's trying to strike the right deal.
(Something we are not use to at ER)

Tom Lees having a medical for wendies today to sign on a FREE! I know he's nothing special but surely a young lad with international experience should command some kind of fee!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed003's Note

Thats a very interesting point youve made there ed0003 :-p

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - bloody invisible ink ! }

Everything I'm hearing it was an undisclosed fee not a free transfer

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet again I ask how do we sell a player in less than 24 hours, when it takes us 3 weeks to loan let alone buy new players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice reply ED but I think (and m) saw striaght through that one ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - I'm actually trialling vanishing ink for the new season - seems it is

}

ED, is it the same invisible ink on Vivianis contract do you think?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - might explain it lol.}

A bit disappointed with this really, Tom is a much better player than he has shown last season. I know he had a bad season but he was destroyed by that -------Warnock and never recovered. I do hope he goes on and has a great career.

Agree0 Disagree0

Windies have given Leeds the equivalent of the remaining 2 years of his contract according to certain sites.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never heard how much for andy mot but was thinking MC wouldn't allow him to leave for nothing even just a token amount of money sounds more like MC

Agree0 Disagree0

(and m)

It didn't say how much mate just said believed to have paid the last 2 years of his contract out.
If he's on £10k a week x104 weeks mmmmm a million.
Im only guessing but he's got to be worth close to £500,000 of anybodys money ;)
