ED, will you please explain to people about the confidentiality forms that are in place, meaning that there uncle bill from morrisons met warnock and warnock told them sumthing is utter Bullsh*t

AndyMack97 {Ed013's Note - People get carried away mate and its like Chinese whispers! Leeds and Ken Bates cannot afford to let anything slip as it is such a fragile time, so most of these, my mums, sisters, boyfriends cat are just rumours. My gut feeling is that it has been going on for a long time and Mr Warnock was in the picture from the beginning and therefore won't be long now until we know what is happening}

Believable5 Unbelievable2

I agree. I think in this game you have to have a long and good memory. When Neil Warnock first came to Leeds he said he would be granted a transfer kitty and it would be the best he had ever had. This as we know would never happen under Ken Bates so I think this takeover as been ongoing for a few months. Nico.

Agree2 Disagree0

People aren't ment to cheat on their wives, dieting women aren't ment to eat chocolate and people in football who are under confidentiality agreements are not ment to let things slip. That said most of the rumours on here are just that here say and gossip. That does not give you the right to slag people off for posting especially when you never know it could be you that's wrong

With all the hype of the big leeds takeover, who fancies The Special One as the new manager? massive good times to come at ER...... Ronaldo, Xavi, Ashley Cole, Robben, Ozil, Jesus Navas........ The list is endless lol

Believable6 Unbelievable4

You missed out messi

No point signing Messi when Michael Brown would keep him out of the starting XI.

Ashley Cole? Id rather keep Aidy White. Although I would have Jose and the other players mentioned and of course messi. Cant wait!

I have just been trying to join all the dots about what we know about this takeover.
We know its Arab, for sure. Now Forrest are in talks with an Arab who clearly doesn't mind being named.surely this is good.news for us and could in fact mean it is a very high profile person, due to their wish to remain anonymous until everything is sorted. Isnt that what happens at man city, everything major is hush hush until confirmed?
As I say certainly not a rumour, but perhaps a small indicator that it maybe who people are praying for!Ben - telford

Afternoon all, Is there a normal amount of time that it takes for DD to be carried out? I've seen some say up to 8 weeks, and others that we could hear news on the investment/ takeover next week?

Just thought that these sort of things must take a certain amount of time?

Just like all the other teams in the championship we are competing for mediocre players. My biggest worry is that if LUFC suddenly find they've a bit of cash, those targets that Mr Warnaock is looking at will suddenly go up in price putting him off buying them and going for below average mediocrity.
Having said this, his first 3 acquisitions are quality mediocrity and his intentions are obvious, building a team from the back.
We are however lucky to have NW as his man management skills are second to none, and I'm sure that no matter how average a player is he is capable of molding him into the team, it's a matter of selecting players with the right character.
It's a long long way to the premiership and it will be harder to stay there but I am fairly confident in NW.
I enjoy the enthusiasm on this site even though some of it is way over the top.
Getting excited about a bookmakers odds is hilarious as, as a team unit Leeds United is nowhere near ready for a new season, unless it's sorted bloody sharpish I can see us starting the season like Reading did last year and coming from behind.
JB

Believable5 Unbelievable0

'quality mediocrity' - that is a first?!

Agree0 Disagree1

Absolutely right...NW Is well proven at this level & deserves his chance to succeed at Leeds regardless of the circumstances.

Agree2 Disagree0

Warnock is a proven Manager at this level and done it on numerous occasions. We don't want or need Harry Redknapp even if we get to the Premiership, he's had millions and never won much, one FA Cup, the team he had this year and they end up with nothing, not even a Champions league spot! Ed - can Due Dillegence be carried out on two clubs by the same person at once? Seems a tad strange to me that as soon as NFFC announce it, we know who the buyer is, yet from ER SILENCE...... If I was a potential buyer, and I wasn't bothered about anything other than financial gain, then it makes sense to play one off against the other,,, maybe thats why ER is silent.. Wouldn't look good if it became public knowledge KB was simply trying to hijack the forest deal !!! I have a bad feeling after the NFFC announcement .. Hope I am wrong. Gingerstreak. When the dust settles on the Take-over and the cash is in the bank and wages are no longer an issue,we will be at the start of a new era in the history of LEEDS UNITED.

We will still be at the beginning of the rebuilding proses and still a Championship club, the players who wanted to leave because they have AMBITION to play at a higher level, will they suddenly decide that the never really wanted to go and would love to take LEEDS UNITED to the Prem ? (funny how an ARAB BILLIONAIRE ALTERS YOUR VIEWS)

I hope we remember players like TOM LEES etc. who signed without question for the love of the club and not just the cash.
The rest for me can go (they know who they are) we will be awash with cash to buy players who are better than them and don't hide the fact they are happy to play for the massive wages on offer (we can only dream of)

I can't wait to be at Elland Road next season with a team, manager and club to be proud of! In the not too distant future NW will have assembled a team of hungry and proud individuals who will work for each other and have pride in the white shirt they wear, a team with a mixture of guile, pace, skill, strength and a bit of dirtiness (just a little). It won't be long until Elland Road is a fortrace once again and teams will wither in front of our very eyes when they step out onto the pitch and see £41,000 passionate fans cheering inter team.

Everyones saying chill out, come on lads we've been to ell and back, with 7-3 thrashings to go home with. So no matter what things are looking good for once in are big clubs life. If this wasn't happening, could you imagine the bleak out look for this coming season.
Lets look at it this way. Who ever is buying are club is no small fry and must have some clout to keep everyone quiet. I do seriously think this is all to do with the Duncan revie and pals bid from back in 2007. Which was Al Maktoum, only this time Bates is ready to sell up, with help from lust pointing things out, that were not right. So don't be slateing them for helping all this to happen.

All this takeover talk I think people are forgetting in 23 hours' time we lose Aidy White.

We are not forgetting, we just don't care. He can run fast in a straight line and that is it. He can't tackle, head the ball, cross the ball or defend. Whatever we get for him will be worth it.

Agree7 Disagree1

Did you actually see White last season? He contributed the princely sum of f**k all to the team and to results. Like a bad Darren Huckerby! Let the jumped up prima donna try his hand in the premiership, I'll be the one sat laughing!
Otley White

Agree7 Disagree0

White is nit even a poor mans Huckerby he is alot worse than that. Who cares next season we will have either messi or Ronaldo or both

Agree1 Disagree1

Hi, please do not be too hard on Aidy White, I do not rate him, but he is young and growing into his career. If his agent has told him he is better than he actually is, and can get more money elsewhere, then there is not much anyone can do about it.
It is not like he is the first headless chicken Leeds have ever had, Huckerby as you say, and how about Peter Barnes, David White ,Lee Sharpe and Nick Barmby, to mention just a few more. All commanded big fees at the time, had to be paid big wages, and for me ,not withstanding what they did at previous clubs, were totally useless in a Leeds shirt, and then there is Brolin, Deane........(feel free to mention anyone who you feel should be included).

I trust the Warlock to not waste any new monies that may be available.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Al-hawari is one of the richiest men in kuwait with links to royal family, he and his brothers are minted, made my year when he decided to buy forest instead of leeds, its no brainer to see why he has choosen the midlands club, nottinghams a very glamorous city at the moment with new investments happening all the time..why has ken bates jumping ship from your club within 2 yrs?, leeds might have a good fanbase but thats about it, not alot to see in boring ole leeds..good luck with your mystery buyer...cheer up he might be american..lol

Agree0 Disagree7

Yes Nottingham is very glamourous, the gun crime capital of the UK !
The Forest deal isn't done yet so don't count your chickens, it was stated a few weeks ago that he didn't have the funds to buy a decent Championship club......oh he isn't lol.

Pmsl couldn't he afford Leeds then you say? Truth of the matter was ken bates was greedy with is valuation of the club and lost interest which any like minded business men would, nottm may have the odd gun crime but so do most cities, least there's always something to do in nottm unlike Leeds..Leeds might have a big fan base but they also have a big antifanbase to..

Agree1 Disagree1

And thats just the way we like it - you lot only had success due to Cloughie and taylor end of history at that point: - and most of that was because Brian wanted to prove so much to the Leeds and to The Don - MOT

Agree2 Disagree0

The kuwait was never in for leeds , that was just fans guessing, leeds deal is taking longer because of the size of the club and everything that goes with it, with forest being small in comparison ,and by all accounts, the leeds takeover will blow forests out of the water.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a Leeds fan from Mansfield 12 miles from Nottingham & all I can say is if the Kuwaiti has chosen Forest over Leeds he's probably more interested in everything except football, everything Leeds is bigger & better

I think Forest supporters being on here says a lot, their own site is so dull, just like their supporters, that they have to visit a decent site !

I really don't think this takeover will end up like the man city or Chelsea wealth, don't get me wrong I'd love some filth rich person throwing cash around with no care in the world, but if it was someone that rich why would they buy a championship club and not buy a team already up there like Newcastle or tottenham? It would be half way there then, but we have to aim to get out of probably the toughest league in the world, and throwing money at players doesn't guarantee a ticket out of the league for example Leicester, think everyone is expecting far to much really with the rumoured persons and wealth that are to possibly takeover

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Your forgetting, we are alot cheaper now, then if we were in the prem. We are the biggest club outside the prem. So why spend loads on a club to buy, when you can by us for less. Even if they bought a prem club, they would still start for scratch and buy loads of players. So it all works out alot cheaper.
mot4life

Agree2 Disagree1

Really doesnt work out cheaper, a premier club would already have a premier squad, we have about 12 and most either injured or refusing to sign a contract, realistically. We need around 10 signings around same calibre of Pearce drury and green at the least, and yes money needs to be spent which I'm sure it will be spent, then after all that we need to get out off this league which nearly every club in this league is aiming to do, it's not as easy as throw a few million at people to get promoted then throw more millions at players and get into the champions league in 1 or 2 yrs, it's not football manager game, just been realistic and not holding my breath,I don't believe were getting some multi billionaire, just would be nice to see wages bumped up slightly so don't lose best players and also a couple million to spend
