I think one of the best options for a striker before deadline who is seemingly available is Matt Smith. we know what he can do, is a great plan B for last 20 minutes and never let us down when he played a full game. I don't know why we let him go, especially at 500k.

Because he's terrible.

Really! well he is better and more reliable than Antonsson, Doukara and Erwin put together.

Must be a different Matt Smith then! We don't play hoofball so how would he be a good signing?

I think Matt smith would be a good signing to play back up to Chris wood. But we still need an alternative type of player, quick and clinical. Omar Bogle maybe? I'm not a fan of fletcher personally.

Mr Smith has signed for QPR :)

Good luck to Sutton hosting the gooners in the next round, another massive pay day and hopefully you'll be able to pay the manager for the pitch.
I will be shouting for you all the way to the final.

Just watching the itv evening news. The journalist described the Sutton result yesterday as beating the Mighty Leeds United. We're not famous anymore 😜

What people seem to forget in all this Sutton debacle is the effect it might have on the morale and confidence of the youngsters who played. Can you imagine coming on for your debut in such shambolic conditions and hardly covering yourselves in glory. How will they be feeling since. I understand why GM made changes and agree that some changes should have been made but not the wholesale destruction of the team. The supporters who travelled should be given their money back

Why is Fletcher the only striker we're after? We've been waiting all window for West Ham to make their minds up and we probably won't even get him. We should be looking at Solanke from Chelsea or another PL striker.

Kone from Everton?

Marvin Emnes would have been a good signing, but he's off to Blackburn.

Well it seems Leeds have done it again. A host of names bandied about (many seen in Graveleys) and from out of nowhere, Alfonso Pedraza? What's that all about. Whoever is in charge is very good coming in under the radar is never a bad thing.
Hope he's good. Hope he's a Garry pick.

Leodis like you I haven't heard of him, probably because he is still relatively young at 20, again it seems it has been influenced by Pep with his connection in Spain, I have googled footage of him he is very giggsy esq very quick and skillful and looks like he has got a great left foot, again he may take a bit of time to adjust to the championship but certainly looks like an exciting addition mate 😎.

Yes I had a quick look. His main asset seems to be his seemingly blistering pace. Let's hope that when he arrives at the by line there's somebody in the box waiting. The only thing I think of the TouTube clips is that even I could look good condensed into a 30 second clip (yeah, okay, maybe not? ) Some of the proven failures are on you tube and look worldbeaters but I trust in Garry and Pep so let's just wait and see. Anybody pulling on the White shirt deserves a chance (if they give 100%) .

To lose any game of football hurts but the final twist of the knife will be at 7.20 if Sutton draw one of the big boys and we all must think, if only.
Still good luck to them they deserve it. I hope they get Arsenal at the Emirates, it's on telly and they get a full house!
Operating costs, sorted. Overdraft, sorted.

Guys obviously not happy at losing, but to be honest it's not such a bad thing. If for example we had fielded a stronger team say three regulars and they had got injured on the artificial pitch, do you think people would say why did Monk do that? I do! Would you wholeheartedly commit to tackling and diving headers etc on plastic grass? I wouldn't!
I think he made a calculated decision that didn't quite pay off to protect the bigger picture so don't be too judgmental and look forward to the prem. MOT

I am confused as to how I feel. On the one hand I am sad we lost (nobody likes losing) but sadder on how we lost. On the other hand I agree it was a gamble worth taking and avoiding crucial injuries with our squad, at this time of year was a plan worth trying. Unfortunately it just underlines that for Championship teams the league is everything and often the Cup is a hinderance.

perhaps we should risk 200k on deacon, he was far better than anybody we had out there. monk made money out of us fans. biggest problem is no leaders out there and no idea. perhaps the kids just froze. first start for some in a fa cup.

bad move by monk, these young lads have to live with that. could destroy a career before it starts. monk, you were a prat and saying that to you is not good enough. how many people lost money on leeds, well not the bookie.

Deacon played well against a development team defence including a league one defender in Cooper and a feckless keeper. I would save the £200K pay the wages of someone better. Welcome back oneleeds.

what an awful original post. it's in our song we have ups and downs yesterday was a down, a down that even don rivie had the likes of a few times. Monk made a risk, a sensible suitable risk, if fans went expecting a strong leeds side yesterday they were the mugs not monk no one with any sense wanted or expected a strong side yesterday, we lost take it suck it up and love leeds. then cheer on our league wins, if we go up yesterday would be a great move, if we don't it still made sense.

It was always going to be on-the-cards that we were going to field an U23 side . I get clubs like Sutton have issues with money, but if clubs want to play in the FA cup everybody knows that at some stage there is a chance of them playing clubs from higher leagues and taking into account that the fl do not allow 3g pitches, this fixture should never have been played at Sutton . This is not about Leeds (we were dire ) .

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jan 2017 14:29:07
No one expected a strong side out there but we did expect them to compete. You can't field a lot of kids if you have not got one leader on pitch. As i said losing does not bother me how we lose does. No one had a clue and Monk was not bothered, that's not LUFC.

I agree Deacon looked good but as one of the commentators alluded to, his consistency is questionable. Let's just keep an eye on him.

well it seams monk thinks weak team out get ko and this means well go up . it doesn't work like that . a good cup run is good for players ans fans . just think lincoln and sutton play each other then that means one would be in q/finals . funny old game . but one needs to win all games at all costs . we've made histoy again for all the wrong rason . give fans a refund and travel money . is this going forward fa cup not interestd in it . .remember leeds 1-0 against scum utd . fans loved it . remember sutton 1-0 fans disguised

i remember all our cup runs in league one affect our league form. cup runs do affect smaller squads and always affects us look up our results each season of that time always cost us. i'm not disgusted by yesterday, disappointed, saddened slightly but not disgusted. monks team have yet to disgusted me MOT.

Looks like we signed Pedraza for rest of season. Hope he gets into his stride quickly and don't take too long to get used to our league. Seems a decent player, left winger but plys right annd centre as well.
