Sorry but I've been a Leeds fan since a boy. I stood in the Lowfields as a season ticket holder. Then sat in the upper tear of the new East Stand. I had a season ticket for nearly 25 years. And followed home and away. Does this mean I haven't seen doom and gloom. Where on the up. Marching as we go.

Hi guys, with all the positivity surrounding our club at the moment and a warm smug feel good haze (me not the team) . Was thinking back to previous better times. For me personally I still remember David O'Leary announcing the return of David Batty with we got a spot or place for him (words to that effect) , and how happy as a fan I was. Been thinking forward to the hopefully not to distant future and who I would welcome back of the former stars still playing. James Milner springs to mind! Thoughts guys?

Where do you play him? Who does he displace? He'd only just make our bench in my opinion. He's the past and not the greatest player. No time for nostalgia. We have new players to be proud and there's no room for a has been.

Maybe you are right George, agree we have new exciting hero's to worship. Can't help liking the boy milner though as he is one of our own. Seeing Rooney's return to his boyhood club I think I allowed my imagination to wander!

Another class A move from Rads. Simply tweeting 'well deserved' regarding Dallas's new contract. There's nothing more to be said, but when was the last time a chairman came out and talked about a contract renewal. Oh the good times are back!

What are we going to do after this transfer window closes! It's the first time in a long time where we weren't dreading it but enjoying it, so when it finishes we will only have one thing left to talk about won't we! And that's WINNING, come on you Leeds! MOTWTC

In 2009 he did an interview in The Daily Mail, incredibly he said that people have got him wrong and he is not a racist or a thug and he's been labled as such because people are trying to make money from stories! So Mr Bowyer three serious attacks on Asians plus abusive racial offensive language! and your not racist! Spitting on a an Asian man lying on the floor after you put him there is not the act of a racist thug! I am astonished how he never got a prison sentence especially after he tried to offer an out of court settlement for £100,000 to the two lads that were attacked, to me that's an act admission and it also disproved his theory that they were only out for money because they turned it down! Absolute scum Ed! He didn't deserve his god given talent, it would of been better given to somebody with morals! What a waster!

I will leave it at that Ed although I'm still reading stuff but thanks again for the insight!

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome. Sorry it is not nice reading though! Probably best to read about Gary Speed if you want nice reading as he is, to put it simply, the nicest guy I ever had the good fortune to meet. Shame he was an Evertonian!}

Oh thought u meant something happened recently ahahah, yeah I'm not a fan of bowyer off the pitch tbh, fantastic player on it mind u.

30 Aug 2017 17:55:04
Absolutely Ed, you see that's the good side of football as for every idiot there is there are a hell of a lot of good guys like Speedy, it's just unfortunate that the idiots make more press!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - very true, or the media focuses on other things. I mean how many know about the many hours Cristiano Ronaldo devotes to charity work and the huge sums he gives away on a regular basis? I know he doesn't do it for the media coverage, but the media know about it and would rather talk about what he is wearing or his haircut or some other pointless thing.}

30 Aug 2017 18:13:10
Exactly, I don't think footballers are great role models, but I do think Ronaldo is an excellent role model.

Not really wanting to get caught up in this thread but on reading the article. I see a lot of people with good things to say about bowyer and an ex girlfriend saying not so good things. Bowyer was found not guilty in all aspects of racism and assault during that trial. No mention of any racism in McDonald's incident. These are facts

30 Aug 2017 20:19:09
A lot of people slate the Beckhams but not many do as much for charity as them both, David contributed all of his wages while at PSG and yet at the time the media were concentrating a on the cracks in his marriage! Luckily there are a lot of good people that do so many things right in sport but the failings of the odd one will always outweigh the good. It's sad but true, I sometimes wonder why we don't have alternative News at Ten which concentrates on only the good stories which gives us a choice, my partner goes to work (she's a nurse in a Children's Hospital) then comes home, she doesn't tell me a good story, no the thing she's tells me is, "oh this little boy got rushed in today, beaten by his parents and he died later"! How many good stories could she of told me! But it's the way we live now isn't it.

Hi Ed, well talking about getting your eyes opened! I've just read about that little knob head and what he did in London with his two mates, absolutely disgusting and to think we used to shout his name! He actually tried to get into the hatch at McDonalds while in the taxi, all this while calling them Paki bastards all for the fact they wouldn't give him a burger at six in the morning! The staff were abused really bad and one got hurt from a chair! How on earth did he keep his job because I know I wouldn't! And his £175 to the victims of his abuse was disgusting! He should of got a prison sentance and it was stated it was out of character for him! Obviously it wasn't Ed because he did it again and again and now he holds a role of trust at Charlton! How and why has he been allowed to get away with it is a travesty and my already low opinion of him is now off the scale! I don't expect you to post this on site Ed I just wanted to let you know I have been looking at news archives and I appreciate you pointing me in that direction as I understand a whole lot more now. Cheers mate.

Pleased to see Stuart Dallas has agreed a new three year deal. He's started the season off brightly and should be a first team regular on current form. So feck off Delia, Alan Partridge and rest of the carrot munchers and keep your web fingered hands off our players. Leeds are no longer a selling club! MM

Jota from Brentford is the one player I would really like to see at leeds, if we got him to play on the left I think we would have a really strong looking midfield, Pablo can't play there (certainly not all season) and Dallas is a good squad/impact player. can't see it happening but he's def proven championship quality

I think Dallas should be selected ahead of Hernandez- think H will be more effective off the bench, when the opposition are fatigued. Think Dallas is stronger and fitter. H is talented but getting too tired and if up against a quick winger is far too keen to hold on to shirts and shorts! Really pleased we secured his signature 😁

These are exciting times indeed! Agree with a number of earlier comments that the Lassoga loan move has the potential to be win for all parties. My only thoughts looking at video clips is that he's a big unit and 'possibly' more Wood like? Just been so happy excited by the pace, dynamism of our current team. Still, TC, VO and AR haven't put a foot wrong to date, could be the next Viduka, 👍 Any money left in the cookie jar, how about a cheeky bid for James Milner, not getting much game time at present. Perfect Swiss Army knife player and Leeds through and through.

Ive been silently watching the developements unfold over the last 7 days. First off i was surprised with the forest score. I read all of your reports on the game and was so excited. Suddenly we are all thinking. At last we are on the way back. We have great owner. Great manager. Great backroom. And now. Great signings. I think everyone of the comings and goings have been 100% exactly right for the now! and the team is playing well. I haven't seen any games yet but am hoping to soon. Feeling a bit left out not being able to see the team playing so well.

I understand Ausman1. Luckily I have been back in Leeds since July and have been lucky enough to see all the home games. It has been great to be back and even since the friendly against Oxford to have seen the team growing. I was sat very close to Alioski on the wing and I could honestly feel how good he was and you could see it in the eyes of the defenders as well. TC and the board have done a great job in getting this group together, we will be capable of some big games this year. Looking forward to it.

Leeds have identified the philosophy that homegrown "talent" is possibly overpriced. Shop abroad (like a booze run to Calais) . More for your money. Please don't break that and spend silly money on Gayle. I have always said that somewhere in some remote corner of the world there is a young Pele scoring for fun (or even a Beckenbaur) . Let's cast our net even wider and whether he is from Lebanon or the Faroes, Alaska or the deepest darkest jungle if he shows promise snap him up. I think we are going down that path with the mixture of talent assembled in the Academy and only hope that the all come good for the future of our great club.

According to kicker we're paying half his wages, but no loan fee. that's still a hefty chunk! Hope he is worth it! Good first game for him though, burton. nice one for him to get his shooting boots on in and with 2 weeks to get used to the squad and get match fit i'm expecting him to hit the ground running.

I think this is another astute move . A good quality player with a lot to prove in a year, we need quality striker options and goals this year. We can worry about next year later, but if the premiership beckons we might be able to keep him. Let's see. One thing I really like about the team and coach is flexibility, lots of different options within the team and the ability to change things and cope with problems.

I love the signing, think he'll do well, better than oliviera but realistically, billy sharp would bag 20 in this Leeds team. I don't have a worry with how he's going to play, it's the fact that it is only another loan, which suggests to me 2 things: 1. We may lose him after a good season as Hamburg may want him back after rediscovering form
2. We are not done in the window, as everything so far has been long term. IMO lassoga will be completed already and announced tonight if not before lunch tomorrow. Currently I think orta will be contacting everybody he knows and doing everything he can to attempt to find another talent, and no more than £8m will be spent but we will see the benefit. Whoever he is, I don't think he will have been linked yet, and it will all unfold tomorrow. I am excited, these owners are keeping us guessing and waking up Leeds, I'm dying to know what they've got up their sleeve. Radz won't settle for going into the season with 2 fully fit strikers. We had 4 2 weeks ago, I expect us to have at least 3 including lassoga and grot. MOT BOYS GET READY.

Think Grot may be the best of the two. As long as Lasoggas mam wakes him up on a saturday he will do ok i think. Worried he is a bit injury prone but he is another option.
