On OS Adryan signed
Season loan deal with view to perm deal.
Surely MC will speak with and offer a decent contact to a coach/mgr. Adryan Sloth ect won't settle for a Wackaday Hockaday so there must be someone lined up who is not con or L2/1. Dig deep MC your most important signing is about to be down to you, just remember tho, you get what you pay for. Show the commitment expect some back but let the guy breathe,,,, he may know more than you,,,, take it on board and be in the prem for breakfast.

well well well, leeds won, hock has gone, adyran has signed, clarke interested in job, redders seems to be doing a good job as well. I am being forced to smile and have nothing to moan about. what am I to do? having to nit pick so. x factor back on Telly, was in it years ago its a fix and rubbish and was out today and someone trod on my foot (new shoes as well) and they didn't say sorry, what has society become? if any one else could lend me something to moan about I would be grateful. hock out. oh wait his gone

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well B I can't help you out here. stuck in South West France just had a great meal, fantastic wine and 3 points I did not expect. Onwards and upwards see you at Brum MOT

I feel your pain bermondsey. Hock out.

Agree0 Disagree0

B
MC quoted as saying he'd like the Hock back one day!

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you Andy that has given me something to moan about and the hope that Hock may come back so I can moan again. I woke up today feeling really positive and don't like it, going to tell the mrs she looks fat that should give me a few problems for a couple of days and keep me going

So what do we want :

NR to be given a chance or a new man in so that he has international break to get to grips with the squad? I think NR should be given a chance! It wasn't all pretty today but the selection and formation was better.
Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As much as I like Redfearn, I don't think he's frontman material. Would like to see him step into the role as assistant behind a strong leader, but don't think he can sustain the team long term. Don't misread this, I like Redfearn and his willingness to step up as caretaker for the third time shows some bottle and commitment, just don't think he's what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't want to lose him, and as soon as he takes that job. its a situation where if it doesn't work out, our academy has lost one of the best coaches its had, and Leeds lose another legend

Agree0 Disagree0

Redders loves Leeds United and loves his role at the Academy, why would he want to take on the head coach role and risk being sacked if it doesn't work out.(mind you, I wouldn't be in Cellino's shoes if he tried to sack Redders, fans would soon be on his back)

Agree0 Disagree0

So hard isn't it. strong arguements for both I guess. for is that we got the win today, by all accounts there was much apporvment in the basics. That said give the man who will have the job a chance to get feet under table and implement ideas. I am torn to be honest think redders deserves a chance and todays win would back that up, this said steve clarke in by monday would make me happy. guess be happy either way? makes us sleep easier at night

Agree0 Disagree0

Steve clarke working with kevin keen and redders as his joint assistant coaches would be my choice

Agree0 Disagree0

Hang on people, only a couple seasons back, night match at Brum and the chant was You don't know what your doing. Nothing against him but he is not a first team coach/manager let him do what he does.

Probably been said a 1000 times already but any else think that redders deserves a crack at the job? I would like Clarke but can't see mc going for him. But with leeds you never no. My old man text me and said have I applied. Might get a cv together, I did captain the school team and help out with younger teams!

Hearing Nigel Gibbs in the frame? Is this true Ed? Would this be a backwards step? MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - He was offered it last week and refused}

Gibbs refused becuase he knew he wasnt good enough. that's the difference between him and the hock

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Gibbs refused because of the way he was treated and I believe Gibbs would do a good job if he had taken it}

Fair enough ed13 I trust your opion more than mine on gibbs as do not really know too much about him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - It's a shame he left how he did}

Is gibbs not suing MC for unfair dismissal?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Yes mate. Cellino tried turning that around by offering him the job after the Watford game}

3 points, a clean sheet, all 11 player still on the pitch by full-time and a midfield completely devoid of the three stooges (alright injury and suspensions did this, but still nice to see). Anybody at the game tell us what the midfield were like? The stats don't make for nice reading, but still better than any Hockaday match.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Midfield was excellent, especially in the first half. Cook was awesome throughout and Mowatt likewise for the first 70. Sloth and Bianchi were both solid and passed the ball well.

Agree0 Disagree0

One stat that mattered 1-0 leeds. might take a while but going the right way. said all along the hock holding back. we might lose next week but still going right way. rome wasnt built in a day by it was built by the right people

Agree0 Disagree0

Another thing to remember is that these midfielders (bianchi excluded) haven't had much first team football so not suprised they weren't ready for a full 90 but it was very promising.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 17:30:39
First time at Elland Road this season and pleasantly surprised. Cook, Mowatt and Bianchi were good and its easy to forget Cook and Mowatt are still very young. Caspar Sloth looked very promising and the new chap upfront Antennuci was hard working and lively. Also Charlie Taylor did superb coming on at a vital part of the game, not easy but handled it very well. Some negatives. Wotton for every decent pass/run there was a brain dead decision. He is awful. The other, it pains me to say is Pearce. Got found out today, can not handle pace and today got lucky a few times. Bellusci possible future fan favourite give it his all and was visible in urging players around him on and vocal at all times. Seems more of a leader than Pearce to me. My man of the match Mowatt for his tireless running in midfield. Redfearn made the right choices and it was positive. Bit shaky towards the end but that was to be expected with our team which is lacking believe and confide ce. Big win. Hopefully we will keep approving. No way finished article but a decent team is coming together. MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thought Wooton was very good today considering he was played out of position.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair he did do better than I expected today as you are right he did play out of position. I hate to slate players but. just don't rate him at all.

MC warning leeds fans not to expect a big name signing for coaching job. Nigel gibbs name has popped up. Sounds like he's preparing us for more disappointment. When is he going to realise that in life you get what you pay for, the old peanuts and monkeys phrase comes to mind.

Like the look of todays team, with the exception of Wootton. Should show a lot more creativity in midfield and feed the two strikers up front. Bench also looks well balanced for changing to plan B if necessary.

I have a god feeling about today

MOT to 3 points

Looks good news on horizon that Clarke is defo interested in the job! He is a scots and will have a good backbone so that mean MC will have a battle on his hands to meddle in job too much ( which will do LEEDS good ) and maybe MC may see too much influence in team matters is not so good in English leagues but still love idea of being involved in a new European way of thinking maybe LEEDS will run others will follow for a change!
I also said way back at start of MC 's tenure that either R D Matteo or Steve Clarke were the best suited for new euro way of running clubs ( sorry just a bit of own trumpet blowing here ) lol LEEDS 3 Bolton 1 or 2 can't make mind up
Come on readers do your stuff Wave your magic wand again!

Can't believe I've just read MC has said that one day he would like hockaday back in the seat leeds as he feels he wasn't good enough to steady the ship but he would be ok once it's running smoothly, his words were " it would be easier to coach Real Madrid than leeds at the moment. Story is on news now.

Okay I for one am very much in favour of Steve Clarke.
What I would say is let's get this done quickly and give the guy a chance to get to know the players and start working on positions, tactics etc so we can hit the ground running in 2 weeks time after the break! Dare I begin to Dream!
MOT fellow Whites!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why not have Someone like steve clarke with a Italian No2 (ex player) to communicate to the Italians in the side?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 09:44:48
One of the reasons we do need a really good coach, as opposed to manager (still not convinced about MC's approach on this.we should have both) is to get the tactics and game plan right, but possibly more importantly, to get the best out of the players we have got. Take Matt Smith - he could be an absolute star striker if he's developed properly.young, bags of potential, height a great asset, and could be a great front man.
BUT - a good coach would slim him down (he's too heavy), work on his pace, ability to hold the ball up, and improve his footwork and ball control.he stumbled over it a few times at key points in the Bradford game. Get all this right and he could be the next Ibrahimovic.
A lot of mates on here have talked about quality rather than quantity - this will win out every time.
Let's hope Neil picks the right team today (if it IS him who's doing the picking!). See you there - MOT!

A forest fan here in peace.i think they guy you should be looking at is Karl Robinson at MK Dons he is an outstanding young english manager.i saw a few Leeds fans saying they wanted Billy Davies what ever you do don't get him we are still sorting out the mess he left behind.good luck in your search and for the rest of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 09:02:49
Why oh why are we being linked to more defenders and strikers! We don't need any more! We need a playmaker and wingers to supply sharp, smith, antelucci etc and a decent number 4 to hold and organise the midfield to take the pressure off the defence. I don't think the defence is weak as any defence will crack under persistent pressure.

I think the question that needs asking is, do you think MC happy with the players we already have?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2014 08:41:29
Cellino has got it wrong. He at least knows that.He needs to realise, he is not the captain of the ship, he is the ship's engine. We need someone to take the helm and steer us in the right direction.
We are now potentially poised, to have a great future with the players that are coming in, also be in a much better position financially, especially if Cellino buys back elland road. He will, I don't doubt him.
The only thing I doubt about him is his ability to work with other people. He is a dictator. He has no trust in others. His way or the highway.
He must be hurting after sacking Dave Hockiday, a cheap option after McDermott. So needs to invest in people, so why can't he see that to bring in a top top manager/coach will pay dividends.
He knows surely with his business acumen that you have to speculate to accumulate.
I Still think it's early days, I for one want us to stay in the championship this year.Think it's more important to steady the ship rather than full steam ahead into murky waters.
HERE'S TO A PLEASANT CRUISE ON THE DAMNED SHIP!
Here's also to the crew. Mot.

Nice post mate but at least MC realised his mistake early doors and ammended it.
The engine kept miss firing at Calgari about twice as year I think lol but MC did a good job with them and with NO income from the club so we gota trust him ;)

Tea lady is given roll has head coach at Elland Road.
In an interview about her game plan for the Bolton game she said she is "hoping to put the ball in their net a few times by shooting with the foot method or heading is ok too" when asked about formation and tactics she said its going to be all about "keeping the ball and keeping men on the pitch" in addition she couldn't stress enough the need to buy better players about 15 millions worth.

If that's the formula then why are Burnley in the PL?
They have a reasonable fan base
Their ground is best described as old school and not jaw dropping
They by any standards can't be classed as having owners who are rolling in cash

What they have is a hungry manager and players who work as a collective to achieve beyond their finances

Money is nice to have but they have proved along with the Wigans, Swanseas of this world that it can be done without it

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It your wondering this was a response to trev-c earlier post below.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I hear you but still think cellino needs to spend another 15 mill to match transfer prices that burnley have.
Also to challenge for top 4 in prem( i'm dreaming now) at least 150 million
Cellino worth a proported 750 mill so how much is he willing to spend in not to distant future to get us going.
Thats what i'm tryi ng to work out if u see what I mean

Agree0 Disagree0

Burnley spent £42mill since 1982 yes 1982 just watching it on ssn, they face LVGs red divels who just spent more than that on 1 player ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Burnley now have the PL monies, which if we get to the promised land I believe MC will invest in the club, but even then I don't think we will see the £15m + players coming in.

Where I think MC needs to spend NOW and spend big is investing in a good coach/manager who can galvanise what we have, take stock and tweak in January - If rumours are true and we add Adryan I believe that we already have potentially have a far better squad than 3 months ago, we just need someone to draw out the best from them and more importantly for MC to butt out of it and let them get on with it - love 3pts today and Steve Clark tomorrow

Agree0 Disagree0

GRABAR
Totall agree with a good coach/manager but it wouldn't bother me if we didn't spend £15mill+ on any one player. Weve made those mistakes in the past and paid the price HEAVILY.
MC has bought young players at 800k and developed them into great players & sold them on for £10mill in the past at Calgari so he can do it again and the ONLY difference is he wouldn't have to sell them now ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy - Agree 100% my point was its possible to do without spending stupid money (If you ask me the transfer fees are out of control) - I think it's more satisfying to do it without spending silly money, but think a few quid spent on a good coach would be worthwhile

Agree0 Disagree0
