The same fans who want Bates spend money and go into debt to watch Premiership football are probably the same ones cheering Ridsdale & co. Look what happened then. Being backed by Russians, Saudis or Indians is fine if you are prepared to be just bit parts in some millionaire/ billionaire's fantasy league/ hobby. I don't envy Man. City or Chelsea fans at all. At least at Leeds there are still some players/ management who care about the club and have some history with it. Dont think you can say that about the premiership - with maybe a few exceptions.

Ken Bates has taken leeds as far as he is willing to go , didnt see him let chelsea go stagnant, still up there with big debts, dont think you would find many chelsea, manchester, liverpool fans wishing there club was in the championship but run on a sound footing , they just want to see quality prem football .When bates goes in a home, the fans will just want big money full stop.

Ken Bates refutes claims he is not willing to invest in the loan market. OK Ken I understand you don't want to spend money of Prima Donna Premier League loan players, as there aren't that many on offer at the moment. Ken reckons the three we had our eyes on are now being held back by their parent clubs - OK I understand that. What I don't understand is if we wanted to be taken serious as promotion chasers this season we did have areas that could have been addressed in the January transfer window. Like him or not Ken rescued us and he doesn't want Leeds to be in debt, BUT to have had any chance of promotion we should have taken a small gamble.
