Conscious of the fact we are going to make some loan signings over the next few weeks, I just hope they all aren't gambles and foreign players who will need time to bed into the side and the league.

We are not I a position to have players needing 6 or 7 games to get up to speed.

I mention this as we still have Del Fabro, Montenegro and Benedicic to break into the side.

I think we should look at trying to bring in nathaniel Chalobah on loan as he is available after returning back to Chelsea from burnley. He can break up play, sit in front of the defenders helping them out (what we need at the moment) and can pick a pass and score a goal just what we need in my opinion.

This is my food for thought but long shot that we do well against the odds against sunderland playing 442 with sloth monty and couple of younsters taylor etc and redders suddenly realises that the diamond dnt work and from then on we play 442 and use diamond formation if and when needed mot!

Pete
Not sure Redders knows who Sloth is

I heard he has him in the kitchen cooking.

Id post on the teams forum but no one reads them, we need to get it going more On there! But anyway, my team for next game would be:
Silvestri, beradi, bellusci, cooper, warnock, sloth, cook (central/holding) doukara left mid, byram right mid, adryan att mid and antenucci up front. Input people?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not bad, personally I like the formation, but would give Montenegro a chance ahead of Doukara!

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be on my bench mate but lack of game time would mean I would want to build i'm up amd give him half hour if it was appropriate

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm, Doukara the skillful ball playing left sided midfielder (not) or Mowatt the skillful ball playing left sided midfielder who's just won young player of the month for December.
I know this is a banter site but you've got to be kidding!

Agree0 Disagree0

Danum, mowatt needs a rest look what happened to byram, I do no want to see our young lads burn out. Tonge on the left if need be but I only want one of the two young guns playong at once for a few games. Just my opinion though. But yes banter must mean belittle someone elses opinion ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry I didn't mean to sound condescending but I don't see what Doukara adds to the side at the moment as a forward so I don't see him able to do a job in midfield.
I also don't understand why youngsters have to be rested. Again this is just my opinion but players like Wayne Rooney & Michael Owen were at their best at Mowatts age so how do we know he's not at his best now? So if the youngsters are the best players we have let's play them.

Surely Chalobah would be worth a punt on loan. Always done well in the championship and can be a commanding centre mid.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't know very good player but enough youth as it is and would rather have our own learning

Redfearn says he MAY make changes for the Sunderland game . uhhhh no, he MUST make changes. Del Fabro, Sloth and Montenegro must start for me.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Plus a change in formation mate i'm behind you all the way you have being calling for them three for a while and I think it is time

Agree0 Disagree0

Its bloody obvious what were lacking, he keeps saying that the kid have ben brilliant, sorry but the harsh reality is were 20th. A change in formation is a must

Very well said. I think we need to bring in some good mature plays, instead of all the pressure and hopes on young shoulders. If we don't watch out, we could destroy what is one of the best academy's in uk.
Hope we look a lot better on the box on Sunday.
Trying to keep the faith.mot4life

On another side of the coin though southampton have what I feel is the vest academy in the uk and there kids carry them forward season after season I genuinely believe we need a proper coach. The talent is there undoubebly but our lads look like they have no game plan. At all.

I've been thinking about it and I don't at all believe that the situation we are in is down to redders. I think he feels he has to play the diamond because he doesn't have the wide options available which is down to our failure to secure some wingers in the summer. We haven't played with proper wingers since snoddy left and if it wasn't for Badge kisser we probably would of been in this situation last year. I bet redders is put under pressure to play certain players and he does get to see all the players on the pitch so maybe he is overlooking montenegro and sloth for a reason. If we can just bring in 2 wingers, a more experienced centre midfield and a old experienced general to go into the back 4 I think well do fine for the rest and at least get 14th or above. I know lots of you don't agree with me, but if McDermott, hockaday, darko and redders can't be getting results it can't be all their faults.

My brother supports Man City so I get to watch a lot of them and they rarely played with wingers last season. The only out and out winger that got used was Navas and most times it was a flat 442 with Silva on the left and Nasri on the right. City won the title. Just because we don't have wingers it doesn't mean we can't play anything but the diamond, and that's where we're faiing atm. I don't think Redfearn chooses the diamond because Hockaday and Milanic both used it too. I think if anything, Cellino heavily suggests that we play that formation.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do see your point but Man City are at a completely different level to us. Personally I think we were at our best when we had gradel and snoddy and I don't think we've been the same since they left. If only we had players like Silva and Yaya!

waht gets me is we have warnock byram rudi mowatt that's really left from last year but we are playing the same way and same results so doesn't that say it all wrong tactics also are 4 players starters keeper defender midfielder and stiker not been dropped unless out for some reason apart from berandi all the italians play every game is that because mc says play them makes me wonder

sunderland game nothing to lose let's see what the so called fringe players have to offer Taylor in goals back three del fabro with cooper along side. bellusci plays just in front of them, wing backs sam right, young charlie taylor left ( we need a proper left back as cover for warnock ) midfield three of sloth, thompson and benedicic, up front lewis walters and brian montenegro

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah but if we won, would we keep the same team for the following crucial league game? I doubt it. I see your point Shippo but we would never make such drastic changes in the perilous position we are in. If it went tets up in the corresponding league game and got hammered, what would we have learnt? Very little and we'd have another defeat to mull over.

In terms of games I want us to win, it's only the league that matters to me. But I do have a feeling in my water that we will come away from Sunderland with a result.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If your correct it would be bloody typical wouldn't it ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you are right Speedy, I think the fact that we will not be under pressure will be reflected in the way the team play. This could be a good game for us if we play with freedom and flair and attack them like we know we can do on our day. The boost in confidence could then help in the league.

I will take off my rose tinted glasses now.

Good to see some humour still floating about.
I wonder how funny mc thinks it is.
I wonder if he can see he needs an experienced manager?
It amazes me how redders can turn up each day and carry on doing his job, if I was that bad at my job, I would be embarrased. Why does he not see he is tactically vacant and toddle back to the academy!
I don't like losing. I especially don't like losing because of the same reasons all the time!
Sooner or later sonebody has to change their ways. Mc with coach system, redders with player selection and tactics or players with er effort and ability.
All we can do is hope!
