Apparently our 'solid' defence is going to be greeted with Thierry Henry's return when they play Arsenal. that'll be fun!

Believable4 Unbelievable6

So what? The only thing that's important about the Arsenal game is we don't pick up any more injuries. I'd put out a full team of kids and just tell them to enjoy themselves.

Agree9 Disagree0

Still hate to see our club embarrassed. remember what happened last time he played against us?

Agree2 Disagree5

He isn't the Same player any more, but like the previous post said its a bonus game, the bread and butter is league

Agree7 Disagree0

Embarrassment is losing 4-1 at flaming Barnsley. We can't afford to put anything like a first team out at Arsenal, the injury list is becoming silly. As I say we should put a young team out to give them the experience.

Agree6 Disagree0

02 Jan 2012 22:13:59
perhaps we should spend 10k on players and get ex england manager in oh no didnt work at leicester

sack grayson like billy davies at forest get ex england manager in oh no they sank like a stone, good wn today at ipswch today ok

ipswich spent money in summer got players we we after bowyer for one they are above drop zone

i know some fans are p***** but grayson aint that bad with budget

Leeds must line up against palace in 2 weeks like this (assuming all fit):

Lonerghan, New RB Lees O'dea White

Snodgrass, Clayton, Howson/Pugh, Townsend

Nunez Becchio

Bench: McCarthey, Bruce/Kisnorbo, Pugh/Howson, Sam, McCormack

Out: Brown, Forrsell, Keogh, Connolly, O'Brian, Paynter

Believable1 Unbelievable7

2 points
1) Howson out till March
2) What was wrong with Thompson at RB

Agree6 Disagree0

Bruce howson kisnorbo all injured wont be ready, poss start with mccormack instead of bechio hope they sign beckham in time

victoria

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckham? good try at a joke.

Agree0 Disagree0

What is this bloke on? Howson is injured, thankfully Kisnorbo is injured, Snodgrass is unavailable due to surgery, Thompson played brilliantly, Becchio is very poor, O'Dea can only be a stop gap and Bruce has got to be as good, you don't pay 500K for Pugh and not start with him and Nunez is not a striker. Do you actually follow or watch Leeds?

Agree1 Disagree0

Becchio proved yet again he is not good enough to start; Bruce had another good game- which in fairness he usually does when he plays; just seems to have fallen out with Grayson- I think the loyalty Grayson has shown to Kisnorbo should end or it may cost him his job- the guy is a liability at present. If we are looking to sign anyone then a proven goalscorer to play up front with McCormack, especially with a winger like Townsend who will actually cross the ball into the box when he gets to the bye-line which is something Snodgrass could learn how to do before he returns!

Agree0 Disagree1

O'dea should be sent back to Celtic he his pants, and connolly and kisnorbo should be put up for sale i was at Barnsley and i've never been so embarassed in my life also ship out Forsell and brown there just not good enough to wear the shirt please lets get in some proper players and spend some money the club makes a profit every week so spendind a few quid to get us to where we want to be shouldn't be a problem, so uncle ken stop putting pressure on the manager and give him the funds to put things right

Agree0 Disagree0

McCarty is gone back to reading howson injured as is kisnorbo and howson whoever put up original post must watch leeds goals on ssn and never go to a match what a muppet

Anyone else notice at the end of
today's game after such an exciting
finish Alex Bruce simply walked
straight off down the tunnel ?
Do we read anything into this ?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Like McCormack shrugging off Grayson too...

Maybe coincidence, but maybe some players are tired of being taken for granted.....

Never mind, lets just pull in some more hopefulls to distract everyone....

Agree1 Disagree0

To be fair to Bruce he probably doesn't feel part of the plans here anymore and feels surplus to requirements.

Agree3 Disagree1

He really should have been taken off he was badly injured but no subs left as all had been played felt sorry for him differcult to leave on or take off hope ok

Agree3 Disagree0

Bruce is injured and walked down the tunnel ASAP to get treatment on his hamstring.

A paper thin squad no money spent, this isnt graysons fault .He does the best he can with what hes given(nothing).SOLD Gradel best player, not graysons fault, how can bates or fans think about promotion.
Need to give young reserves a chance, get in rb cb cm cf somehow move on players not required.unfortunately young ken is as tight as a nats chuff.
IF spent some decent money on signings 5000 fans come back to watch and generate massive money fo you ken.
sing your heart out for the team even when they are playing s**te,get behind them and larry ,come on leeds {Ed025's Note - well said mate..

Anyone else who went to the game think the back four we truly awful great result tho I don't think we need new players a new defensive coach an maybe a CB

Believable4 Unbelievable2

When kissa went off they looked strong especially zac

Agree4 Disagree2

Think everyone is noticing about Kisnorbo except for the person that matters...

Agree6 Disagree0

The defence wernt tested today so to call them awfull is unfair,

MOT

Agree2 Disagree0

Thought Zac looked good

Agree4 Disagree0

Kisnorbo isn't up to scratch anymore, Grayson admitted he was targeting a centre back, Lees and a new CB would do nicely with O'Dea as back up then the likes of Kisnorbo and Bromby if they get injured.

Agree1 Disagree0

The guy who thought the back four were truly awful must have been at a different game than I was. White had an excellent game at left-back and Thompson at right back looked as if he had played there the last 10 games- I can't remember Burnley getting to the bye-line on either wing. Bruce looked as if he should play every game since he hardly put a foot wrong and O'Dea dealt with most things comfortably. True, Burnley didn't have much in the way of attack but you can only play the team that is put out and I thought that for once the defence looked half decent.

Well done today SG and the team and lets hope this is a turning point. I dont care about the Aresnal game, it will be a good day out and would rather the youngsters get a chance. Lets use the 2 weeks to get a couple of defenders in and a strong center midfielder.
I listen to alot of people in the pub prior to the game, alot of people during the game and I read alot on here and everyone is entitled to their own oppinion so here is mine. I dont like Ken Bates or his ways but the truth is he has stabalised our club. I dont sing Bates out at the games as I believe its not fair on the players, but he must realise that we cant do this on the cheap. To make money you need to spend it and at this minute in time our team is a mid table team at best.
I am not a Simon Grayson hater and I definatley dont want him sacked. He has done a very good job with what he has had to work with although he has made some poor signings and some mistakes (dont we all). He is young, hungry and loves the club. He wouldnt do anything on purpose to destroy us and I would rather have him here than another Chelsea Scummer that doesnt care about the club.
So lets get realistic and get behind the team. Today was the bit of luck that we needed and fingers crossed we will go on a run now and push up the table. If we dont then we deserve some answers as we pay alot of money to watch them. People cant put all the blame on SG and Bates, their is obviously alot more that us fans dont know but deserve to. Lets have a good jolly at Aresnal then another 3 points against Palace please. Keep the faith.

Did anyone see the frosty embrace between Ross and Grayson at the end of the game. Ross shrugged him off and walked straight down the tunnel. Couple this with Grayson bringing forsell on before him. Something is a miss. Any ideas ed? {Ed003's Note - Body odour maybe ?? }

Believable5 Unbelievable0

How can you leave Ross on the bench till 75 minutes?

Grayson needs to look at himself?

Agree7 Disagree1

Haha ed

Agree3 Disagree0

He doesnt seem like a team player. When he scored it was all about him and not the team. He shrugged off other players and pointed to his name on the back of his shirt. I would have thought after getting the winner all the team would have ran to SG and given him their support.

MOT

Agree3 Disagree3

When he scored he went straight over to the bench?

Agree3 Disagree0

Unfortunatly I wasnt at the game today, but I heard about this on the radio phone in with Eddy Gray. If Ross isnt happy, at the end of the day the badge on the heart of the shirt is always goin to be bigger than any name on the back of it! MOT

Agree5 Disagree1

Ross may not be devoted but he does score goals and we need them right now.

Grayson seems to be totally confused.dot.com right now?

Agree3 Disagree4

Maybe Mcormack was pointing to his name on the shirt to remind everyone he IS our main goalscorer and why he should be sat on the bench until there is 15 minutes left to go is beyond me and everyone that I have spoken to. No-one in their right mind would start with N unez and Becchio up front and leave the second top scorer in the division on the bench- especially given the results since he started doing this!

Can anyone tell me whether the player we have called Forssell is the same one that used to play in the Premier League? The one we have, I believe, is his badly co-ordinated half brother. Apparently he has the same name but was born with two left feet, has a funny shaped head that the ball just bounces off in odd directions and has a brittle chest making it impossible for him to take the ball on it.
If only we were paying the real one......

did anyone see the reaction of Grayson after that 95th min winner that's a man who knew Ross saved his job..!

Just hope now we don't throw this result away and lose another 2/3 on the bounce or we could be in trouble -

Pleased with Townsend, with him and Snodgrass it could be terrifying for defenders, however a proven goalscorer and a new centre back urgently required

Believable10 Unbelievable1

02 Jan 2012 19:14:19
Well SG's team selection today struck me as that of a man in the last chance saloon and indeed had a smack of desperation about it. But thank God he dropped Brown, Connolly and Keogh - not sure why Vayrynen paid the price as he has hardly had a chance and is not in my eyes tainted like the other three. To my mind Nunez and Thompson are the future and Townsend has all ready displayed his class for Spurs when given the chance. I am utterly confused however why Grayson yet again picked the totally shot Kisnorbo! He might cut the mustard at Rotherham or somewhere for a season, but the man is finished at this level.

Yet with 5 minutes to go after pounding Burnley, Grayson must have been mentally composing his CV and thinking what a cruel game footie is. But thanks to some inept defending (a la LUFC) and a ref's watch that must have been made at Old Trafford he has some breathing space. So for God's sake Simon learn from this today and NEVER pick Kisnorbo, Connolly or Brown again. Trust in youth and keep your nerve. MOT

Believable8 Unbelievable0

He was forced to pick Kisnorbo and O Dear due to injuries. He said this in his post match interview on Minster FM. Be thankfull for the result and get behind the team and manager.

MOT

Agree2 Disagree4

Grayson is NOT forced to pick Kisnorbo, we have youngsters banging on the door as Thompson showed today.

What is the point in having talented youngsters when we ignore them?

Have faith, Grayson, and don't keep relying on people like Keogh to come and give you a lifeline (till he's bored)

Agree4 Disagree3

Thompson is a centre mid!

We all need to get behind sg now more than ever this is hardest spell in charge at the club and us fans need to start making elland road a fortress once again turning up in our thousands and getting behind the manager and the players we all no that we havent be at it for a few weeks but what team doesnt go through a sticky patch during the season im not getting carried away after todays result this doesnt change that we still need to add further additions to our squad

Believable4 Unbelievable5

A lot of people singing 'one Simon Grayson' in the Kop early on. Much louder than the Grayson out t*ssers. It seems that those who actually go to all the games, for the most part, know he's done a good job with no money. I'm guessing most people on here are armchair fans who fell asleep during the Champions League semi and haven't quite woken up to where the club is really at...

Agree3 Disagree3

We aren't armchair fans, we have given Grayson his dues, but he seems to be totally lost these days?

Every time we get hammered we seem to have a totally different team?

I know Snoddy and Howson are out, and todays points very satisfying, but there seems to be something so wrong still?

Agree3 Disagree2

02 Jan 2012 18:11:47
See the Grayson haters are being utterly graceless. Even when we win they're looking to have a go because it was a late winner.

To the best of my knowledge, the score at the final whistle is the one that matters regardless of whether you score in the first or last minute of the game.

What's more, we played very well today. Becchio was awful and Forssell was pretty bad too when he came on - they both have the touch of a rhino - but everyone else was somewhere between good and excellent. Townsend and Thompson were a revelation. Clayton was back too.

If we play that well every week we'll finish in the top 6. We conceded very much against the run of play and, instead of letting their heads go down, the team fought to end and got the win they deserved. The players don't write themselves off at 1-0 down, unlike some of our so-called 'supporters'. I prefer the term 'scumporters' personally...

Believable5 Unbelievable5

It was STILL 10 MEN! Can you not realise that we had an advantage today that we will not have another day. Burnley would have fought for a win if the numerical values had been equal.
An own goal and a tap in do not fill me with confidence. (I was in N11 and no matter how many crosses we pumped in no one was on the end of them.) It took mistakes from the opposition rather than our own ability to win that game.
I agree the players played well, but we still lack bite.
Also what is with the current social paradigm of some people, which entails berating fellow fans that have a different opinion?
In my view we are FAR from being clear of trouble yet.

Agree5 Disagree4

It's not that people have a different opinion - it's the negativity and lack of support. Read all the posts further down here from when we were losing - supporters rejoicing in the fact that we were 1-0 down. These people probably weren't at the game - and I accept it's too expensive for many at ER these days - but there is no rationale in their posts and they cannot be described as fans. They only sing when we're winning....

I agree Grayson has made mistakes, but he's had nothing to work with. People whine about his signings without looking at his budget and comparing it to other managers' budgets, many of whom are much lower down the league than us; Poyet - a favourite of the anti-Grayson lobby, being one of them - tons of cash - bottom half..

The problem with the anti-Grayson lot is not that they're not entitled to their view, it's that they almost never suggest realistic, BETTER alternatives and they're often deluded about how we're still a massive club.

Agree1 Disagree3

It is sometimes harder to play against 10 men and 3 points is 3 points. Get behind the team and manager. Becchio is the only player that can win a ball up front and I agree Forrsell was terrible.

MOT

Agree1 Disagree2

Most of us have been behind the team 100% but when you go a goal down at home and rely on an own goal and the winner in the 95th minute you still need to ask questions?

We need someone that can motivate the team from the word go. Bechio and Kisnorbo seem to have outspent their usefulness, sory to say?

Agree3 Disagree1

02 Jan 2012 18:10:31

Agree1 Disagree2

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Weve been lucky in most of the wins this season,he has to go just for picking kisnorbo today

Agree5 Disagree2

Carp - we were unlucky to go one down - their only real shot - came out of nothing. We were excellent today - with the sole exception of Becchio who was absolutely awful.

Agree2 Disagree3

02 Jan 2012 17:10:24
Well played Andros Townsend...sounds like he had a good debut and with a bit more quality finishing and a couple of decent defenders watch us climb back up the table. Must better from Leeds today..keep it up.

Where did the ref get 7 minutes extra time from? thank you God

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Burnley players time wasting

Agree3 Disagree0

I counted 4 yellow cards just for their keeper for time wasting. It was beyond blatant. How he only got the one is anyone's guess.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Jan 2012 17:04:15
Townsend was good - but hey lets be honest we were lucky ?? enough to save Larry ?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

No - we outplayed them from about the 10th minute after a cagey start. Nothing lucky about it at all. The sending off was soft but their goal was completely against the run of play. We then stuck at it until the last kick of the game and got the result we deserved. You make your own luck.

Stop whining and start supporting

02 Jan 2012 16:53:10
i backed larry and i did slag him What a 2 faced t... he did try today and change the side, what a few of us wanted so dont say he did ,not try its what most of wanted he did try and i think we should respect him for that its never nice to see somebody under presure who ever they are hope you turn it round simon from mister 2 faced fan

Believable1 Unbelievable3

You are ok to have an opinion - they were lucky today, Larry is on thin ice we could should have lost today ? pleased for fans we won but still think we need changes

Agree5 Disagree1

Did you see today?Noone can say we deserved to lose today. You're not a leeds fan so crawl back under the stone you've come from.

Agree3 Disagree5

Who are you to judge other passionate Leeds fans!!

Agree5 Disagree1

I am a leeds fan i am just being onest by saying when we lose i am dissapointed when we win i am happy yes i have disagreed and when we have one i have hoped simon stays but dont say i am not a leeds fan

Agree3 Disagree0

They weren't lucky - just look at the stats. Burnley got a lucky goal very much against the run of play. You make your own luck and Leeds fought to the end for that win.

It was a good win today and anyone whining about how lucky we were almost either wasn't at the game otherwise they'd know differently, or they're just looking for excuses to have a go at Grayson. Either way, they're not passionate fans, they're idiots.

Agree1 Disagree4

02 Jan 2012 16:51:54
Finally we have scored only papers over the cracks though in my opinion

Believable8 Unbelievable2

02 Jan 2012 16:49:32
Grayson now is the time to go another poor performance again we havent tested there keeper one bit at home aswell what a absolute insult to are die hard fans that pay a arm and a leg to go watch a team of jokers play poorly week in week out

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Wait till result next time

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Jan 2012 16:43:44
Total joke once again at home players cant even score against ten men and to make things even worser we sign danny pugh permanentley that shows what ambition we have no wonder howson and white turned down contracts when where signing average players like him

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I bet you feel stupid now, next time maybe you'll wait for the result.

Agree1 Disagree2

Maybe if you'd got your ar*e down to the game you'd know that we played really well as a team and that Pugh was absolutely solid even when he had to switch position to the middle. You'd also know that we deserved to win after conceding very much against the run of play, that we tortured them on both flanks and that we should have buried them. We lacked a clinical finish but there is nothing to whine about on that performance - Pugh included who did a very tidy job behind Clayton & Nunez.

Townsend, Thompson, Clayton all excellent. Only Becchio from the starting 11 looked poor and Forssell wasn't much better when he replaced him.

Agree0 Disagree2

Ah yes, Forsell, another of SG's poor signings along with the likes of barn door billy, Bessone, Rachubka and so on. If you were Ken Bates would you give SG money to spend on players

Agree0 Disagree0

So tell us, O Wise One, how much Forssell, Paynter, Bessone and Rachubka cost? The whole point we Grayson supporters are making is that he has been FORCED to sign players of this quality on frees & loans BECAUSE he hasn't been given a proper transfer budget.

You have completely defeated your own argument, which isn't a very clever thing to do is it now?

Let's also look at some other Grayson signings. Clayton (free), McCormack (250k), Lonergan (100k due to Preston's stupidity), Gradel (350k ish?), Nunez (free).

Get the picture?

Agree0 Disagree0

Guessing you weren't at the game then. Becchio was absolutely awful - let the whole side down. I'd have taken him off after 30 minutes. Every other player who started was outstanding. Forssell wasn't much better than Becchio mind you...

Grayson has to go! 80% of his signings have been dreadful, he always has to alter his tactics, we always concede first, we've got out of jail so many times already and lost rather than being beat, and plays aidy white at lb and Pugh up top its madness!

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I think the performance of the team today against Burnley will tell a story about Grayson. Unless they live under a rock somewhere the players must know how close to being sacked he is. If they come out and roll over and put the lack of effort in they have been showing it will show that they are not bothered about him and want a change. If they try it will show that they at least have faith in him.

Billy sharp ready to leave Donny. Worth a bid?

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Get real we only take loan signings

Agree4 Disagree2

Clause in sharps contract is if a £3m bid comes in. Over the past 6 yrs we have averaged about £450k per season on transfers. So that's over 6yrs budget on one player! Will never happen!

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes lets just write a cheque for 4 million..! or better still lets invest it in the stadium ready for league 1 football (cmon)

Agree4 Disagree1

They've already had two offers of £3m+. Can't see Bates matching that.
