Really quite surprised with Warnocks comments on Clayton. Apparently Warnocks wanted to keep him but we couldn't match his wage demands, which Warnocks described as reasonable. Bates really was a disgrace and will be relived to see the back of him. We lose Johnson, howson, Snodgrass and so on and we still couldn't pay Claytons wages. Unbelievable!!

Believable9 Unbelievable3

We could have afforded to pay ALL of their wages had we not wasted money on building work which was not necessary and even used up next years season ticket money?

Agree7 Disagree5

Forget the bearded one, his was a nightmare we are hopefully waking up from. The real test is the future, can GFH get Diouf to sign a new deal, and can they sign Tongue, Tate and Thomas in January? If they can we know that the Bates era is truly at an end.

Agree8 Disagree1

We could have paid all their wages regardless of building work. MasterBates kept the wages/turnover ratio to near 45/55, the lowest in the division. Whilst this may be considered as economically prudent, its hardly a recipe for promotion. To achieve success in this division you need to go at least 70/30. Objective opinion suggests this could have been achievable without sending us to the financial brink. Something about which MasterBates knows only too well. Still worries me that he is still at ER and will remain after the transition period is up on 21/12/12. 'Honourary' chairman...of all the jobs he could have picked for himself?! Just shows how much he loves to take the p155 out of Leeds.
As an aside anyone see the Daily Mail article on David Hague?

Agree1 Disagree1

Not at all surprised by that. Thought Clayton made a bit of a t1t of himself yesterday and I'm a big fan of his. Bit of growing up to do perhaps...

honoury president .dont really have a clue what they do but i would of thought he is probably given that position to push deal through and they can probably sack him off if we dont get promoted by end of next season .
i know president sounds important but i dont think it is.

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree with the poster who says he showed him self up. I did quite like him and was suprised when he was transfer listed but from what I heard he was dominated by norris! and the fact he went and made a point to warnock after only scoring a penalty. (nothing special) When warnock just looked an him and clapped I bet he thought I'll show you, then riled up our dressing room at half time... Who has the last laugh now!

Agree5 Disagree1

Who's Clayton?

So has anyone heard how Davide Somma's getting on, is he back in training and likely to play some reserve games soon?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Bates made reference to Somma in his Chairmans notes v Leicester last week. He said he was back in full training. I'll only believe it when we see him on a team sheet, even I'd just for the reserves.

was wondering if people who know and watch youth team games if there are anymore stars like sam byram in it who have shown promise. people like delph and howson came through aswell recently and was wondering if people could name the best ones and their rating out of 10. ( byram is 10, pugh is one)

Believable1 Unbelievable1

You gave pugh 1??

Agree2 Disagree1

Pugh is one what? waste of space? disappointment?

Agree1 Disagree2

Pugh didn't come through youth system we got him from man u in smith deal. Then sold him to Preston JD

Agree2 Disagree1

Yes, if you subscribe to LUFC you can watch highlights of games, which include U15 and U18. Chris Dawson, Charlie Taylor, turner twins, to name a couple.

Agree2 Disagree1

Op here meant in quality of player (personally hate pugh as a player)

Agree1 Disagree1

Dawson, Walters, Parkin, Killock,Lehnigan.
The list goes on because are under 18s are top of there league and flying, it was just by chance with Byram and he took it. Theres plenty more where he came from trust me.

Agree5 Disagree1

I've seen Killock play afew weeks ago for alfreton(i live in Derby). I know it's not at a world class level, but he stoodout at the heart of the defence and is getting some very good reviews on his performances, from law, the manager there!!i know they got beat yesterday by orient in the cup but he,s been doing well!I'm going to try and take in a game at chester whilst i'm up there(think one of the turner lads on loan?)As long as it doesn't clash with a visit to Elland Road!KEA

Agree1 Disagree1

I hear a lot of good things about taylor... supposedly he the one most likely to breakthrough... turners i have heard seemed to of dropped off a bit and the loans to get them going again... aint heard much of gimpel tho in a while, killok, and dawson supposed to be very very promisin... but the future superstar is supposed to be Walters...
anyone know how cairns is getting on? also i know he came from everton, but zac thompson supposed to be really good... impressed my mate who watched him play for bury against his dads team... he came to work a couple of weeks back an told me he spotted this huge talent.... i quickly told him he was on loan from us!! he was well impressed, his dad lives in colchester... bury lost the game but he must of had a good game...
dont think we will see any of the in the first team any time soon though... although would much rether produce someone from within then buyin someone... although we need instant results... so may have to put up with some of the kids not getting a chance...
anyone know of anyone else lookin good?

Does anyone agree that we should keep Robbie rogers in and around the squad just as some extra winger cover for Thomas and hall. Or do we sell him?

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Sell, byram and white are good enough cover.

Agree4 Disagree4

We can get better now...

Agree3 Disagree1

I would sell rogers and white and bring in a fast tricky winger . cant see white getting a football brain anytime soon . yes hes got pace bu nothing else. byram is a top player and will make it very far i hope we can keep him .

Agree7 Disagree2

Can't really see why we ever signed the guy on to be honest?

Agree2 Disagree2

Rogers hasn't been given a chance and whitecould've jumped ship but didnt, give em a chance before slating em for f***s sake

Agree8 Disagree3

Think we only signed him coz he was cheap... he not even a regular for stevenage.... doubt he be of any use to us now.... at least he aint on high wages...

Agree5 Disagree1

OP here. When I've seen him, he seems pretty decent I think we should keep him and sell White tbh or at least loan him out

Agree2 Disagree2

If GFH sell Byram. Then we know for a fact, the Bates years are not over and it would then be time to make a stand. I don't think it will come to that, if GFH put there money where there mouths are. Saying that, i don't think we want to see more talent go for peanuts or for nothing again. I don't know how to run a club but i do know thats not how you get your fans back, FACT!!

if we sign Thomas then rogers wont get anywhere near the first team this season .if hes still at the club in pre season he will get a chance to prove himself but with up been able to offer better wages i would sell white and rogers and bring in someone like wright-Phillips which would really give us pace down the wings.

Agree2 Disagree2

Always thought it was a shame Rogers didnt get a fair crack at the team and NW said similar but needed to lower his wage bills over summer. Now we have Hall, Thomas and Tonge (assuming we sign in Jan) he wont get a look in.

Although White is actually a right footer he has been playing the left due to a lack of options but he again isnt good enough to play in the first team and should go out on loan and see if he develops into a footballer. Also sell Pugh first chance you get. With Poleon and the 3 loan guys mentioned above the left mid / wing is covered sow we can focus on other positions.

Id be interested to know peoples realistic possibilities for January.I feel that if we made our current squad all permanent and added no others then I think I'd be happy with that.however you can always improve, so what are people's thoughts on positions and possible targets?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

All we need is a LB and a striker.

Agree6 Disagree1

I agree in principle in what ure saying and we def need to tie down our top marque loanees, but no team can ever stand still not if u want success. Not sure who we can buy as it depends whos available and fancies the gamble of their life....step forward somebody in the mould of sir gordon strachan ??mrc1919.

a very fast striker just for something different to what we have .

a lb is a must really .

Id like us to keep the current players we have on loan and id love to see Craig Mackail-Smith in our squad

YEP good article pointing out that the majority of our influential players out of contract less than month. Diouf,Tate,Thomas and Tonge in my opinion can't lose any of them. Get all perm deals and a pacy forward who can make the run ons from becchio flicks. Think leeds need an andy hughes character as well.

Believable13 Unbelievable2

The 3Ts want signing up but don't believe we will get Thomas. We can hope. Sign Dioufy as well. After that all we need is a proper classy LB and another striker. There's no other positions we need to recruit for at this stage. Lets sell in the window too. Bye bye Rabchoker Pugh Connolly Bromby Kissa and Varney.

Agree5 Disagree4

02 Dec 2012 14:59:19
Leeds brum could be tricky

Agree1 Disagree5

Think we need another midtfielder as well. One who can play the ball around - make the decisive passes to open up defences! We have the workers/runners, but can't see us have that kind of player in our present squad.

Agree6 Disagree2

Id like to keep Kisssa on in a coaching role. He's still a great defender with a great defence mind and could be an asset to the youth academy. It's a shame his knees are gone now

We also can't sell Bromby due to his injury.

Crmd

Agree5 Disagree1

Would like to see a fair few go first...
connolly, bromby, kis, maybe even drury (only coz NW dont seem to fancy him)
pugh, brown, varney, but mainly rachubka....
dont know who is silly enough to bid for them but would love to get them off the wage bill... think we may have to pay them off first tho.... then the exciting bit... good quality replacements.... wes Morgan, Stephen Ward, wilson Palacios, Matt Phillips, chung yong Lee from bolton(class when fit) wickham from sunderland... if that dont see us up with the extensions of the loanee's contracts... would change the skipper mind... dont expect it, but do expect to keep our loans to the end of the season with the addition of a striker

Just watch attendances rise if we keep winning,i must admit I struggle to get to every game when uve two kids and expenses to take into consideration, but I bet like me if the good times continue most will find the cash from somewhere.if the players do there bit im sure the best fans in the world will do theres. Mrc1919.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

I think your right i wrote a post earlier statin that fans wont turn up until we are where we know we think we should be! think the fans are gonna have to start coming back cos they've have an actual decent team to support!
in the new year cant wait to come to leeds to see my team play at 1st hand havent had the honour yet but am certainly lookin forward to it!
irish leeds fan!

Agree5 Disagree4

"Just watch attendances rise if we keep winning"

Not while Bates is still here, unfotunately/

Just watch attendances rise if we get rid...

Agree2 Disagree3

Only one person keeping me away from Elland Road, and for once it isn't me (or the wife)....

Agree0 Disagree2

Considering bates is gonna be president for the foreseeable future ,a lot of so called fans gonna miss years of top games at Elland rd, you're all cutting off your noses to spite your face, the only thing your doing is hurting the club, bates is there in name only , wish people would grow up

Agree3 Disagree3

I used to think we had good fans... then i realised that now half the fans hate bates more than they actually love Leeds or only come when the performances are here, ill be there for my team win lose or draw and before you slate me if you cant afford it that is a valid excuse Bates having his name on a piece of paper calling him a president while having no power is not neither is watching Leeds lose support another team if you want it easy cause being Leeds is never easy!

Its amazing how much can change in a week or two in football. A couple of weeks ago warnock and leeds look dead and destined for relegation fight or mid-table. But two weeks later and two loan players in and leeds are beating teams that early on in the season would have put 3 past kenny. Hopefully being a cardiff fan leeds run continues as your too far behind us to catch up I think 16 points if we win our game in hand. You can beat boro, hull, forest like you did to palacer and lesiter and let us pull away at the top of the table so the takeover if benefitting us as well as you.
Anyway good luck for the season hope you reach the play-off or second place

Believable13 Unbelievable2

Thanks for the patronising post but its 9 points. If, a big if, you win your game in hand a possible 12 points in front. Don't get cocky now. Anyway I'll be happy with 6th spot. As long as we have a chance that'll do me and many other leeds fans. Unfourtunately I always hop Cardiff get relegated I'm afraid I'm not a huge fan of your club. Good luck to you

Agree10 Disagree3

Come on now, we get some compliments from a cardiff fan, doesn't happen very often, with any fans, and you slate him. I believe we can still finish top with the right additions in jan , so cardiff fan, thnx, but we're coming to get ya

Agree8 Disagree0

02 Dec 2012 15:08:02
Cardiff not good enough to last the full season and will drop to playoffs and maybe further

Agree3 Disagree3

Cardiff do this every year up there then throw it all away . I would wager that we will prob finish above them this year . we can easily make the automatic cardiff will end up in play offs like they always do

Agree1 Disagree0

Right here and now, this is one of the stupidest posts I have seen for a while. A toothless Pre takeover stylee stab in the dark. You a terriers fan? Or miss the days of relevant bates bashing. The world of lufc has changed, my man!

Nice win today, i know NW will be buying players in january but who would everyone replace? I mean, gk is ok, cb's ok too. Sign up tonge and cm is good. Got a few wingers and cf's are on form. Im not a fan of peltier but NW is, im not sure why he is our captain. And if we get Mackail smith which i hope we do, then does Mccormack get dropped? I think he would look elsewhere if so. Anyway would appreciate some feedback on ho you guys would drop or replace. MOT, Vinny. PS whats the latest with somma ed please?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Its not a case of dropping anyone, its called rotation, because games will come thick and fast from now on

rachubka, kisnorbo, bromby ,nunez, pugh and gray should be moved on if possible .think bromby and nunez will be hard to shift as they are injured.

sign tate , thomas and diouf on good deals.

we need to get a young hard tackling defensive midfielder and maybe let brown move on .

we need a left back and probably let white move on unless he shows lots of improvement in the near future.

we need an up and coming gerrard type player that can spot a pass and pull it off from all angles we did have 1 in howson .

then maybe a tricky winger with pace and let rogers move on .

As a manager in amateur league its always a great feeling when u get ure players in a different mindset. today paul green played the game of his life. i really never rated him and over the last 3 games he has proved to me how good he really is. that right side at leeds is now great green covers byram and he gets all ova the park today he was everywhere and in my opinion was man of the match. Tonge did great again n there isnt a player better in this league wen he on form. Anyhow half the players in my squad are town fans and i cant wait for tuesday nite wen we meet for training. in fact im gunna teach em to play the way leeds did today lol.. a fantastic result from the mighty whites and im always proud..

I think tate has strengthened our defence up by 75% and lees is brilliant along side him. we need to sign him.permanant n make him captain. ALl the young ones will learn so much from him. i like this guy already..

the question is come january if we still playing like this who the hell can we sign. would neil really wanna change it? come april we will he celebrating our premiership return and im certain on this. the sleeping giant will be awoken n will wanna destroy others. premiership 2013 look the **** out
