I've been busy recently guys, have not got around to posting but here are my views on some things to do with LUFC. I'm going to write about the other negative things tomorrow.

First on Pre Season it was pretty good IMO an ok win against Atalanta not the best performance but against a better side and we got the win which is a good way to go into the season.

Next onto the singing of Pablo Herandez a good signing IMO even though I didn't think we need him, Swansea fans say that on his day he is really good and that was in the prem so should be good at this level and cause defences problems just my only issue might be he may struggle with the physical side because Swans fans said he struggled in the Prem with it and the Championship is even more physical.

His fitness may be an issue at first but that should be fine in time. But on paper he looks overall a good signing and should create some quality chances and score a few goals this season. And if he performs like he should do we will hopefully sign him Permanently in Jan.

So feeling Optimistic for the new season still think we need 2 more signings (A proven striker at this level and proven cb at this level.)

I've explained about the striker so often so won't write about it again and will write about cb tomorrow. I think right and outside playoff team who will realistically challenge but will just miss out on the playoffs just need those two signings to be a playoff side IMO but hopefully we will make those signings IMO or more realistically not get them but get in without them.

Even though it is a little unrealistic IMO hopefully this season will be the season only 5 days to go! MOT!

I think even without bridcutt we can have a real go this season . Copy the blueprint from Leicester, a couple of stars ie vardy and Mahrez with nine others that believe and work like hell. We have a sprinkling of stardust in the likes of roofe, hernandes and viera and if the others believe in the philosophy and work like hell we won't be far away . It would make me feel a little better if we could replace bamba with a decent cb cause he is probably the one liability.

Leicester used technology to their advantage. every player had a tablet where they recorded their meals, sleep patterns, soreness, how they felt, their moods etc. This was analysed by specialists who recommended who play and who rested etc. There was a lot more to it but I read about it on the BBC site and it truly was remarkable.

The club has rejected the transfer request from Taylor, I hope this will mean Taylor will (if so) eventually move on free of charge and his agent will hopefully therefore get nothing from Leeds as a result - if so nice one Cellino!

In this case I am happy to watch Cellino cut of his nose to spite his face, so to speak, some of these agents are total leeches.

02 Aug 2016 21:56:34
I see your point mate as Cellino doesn't reinvest money received on new players. McCormack. Cook.
A good friend of mine is a football agent and although a top geezer its all about the next contract.

As for Taylor good luck to him. We have no god given right to hold a player who wants to go. Surely it's best to say thanks for all you've done, wave bibi and turn over the page. As for loyalty, a much overused word and always claimed by one party when they are not getting what they want so I have to agree with others on here and say let's auction him for the highest price before it falls like poo from a cows arse. Go out and get this Henry bloke (or similar) . Not sure how good a full back he is but going forward he looks dynamite. In Gary I trust. Even before a ball is kicked I am cautiously excited about this season.

The club have rejected charlies transfer request! Just hope he is professional and puts 100% in while he's here and hope we do go up this year as we will only get compensation for him at the end of the year! When his contract runs out.

Agree Bermo.
Let's get the price up around the 7-8 mill mark. Lol.

Sadly I think it isn't a ploy as they have released an official statement. They probably won't go back on that. Wrong decision imo. Should let him go. In fact, give him a push.

Think you are spot on BW.
Tell the world he's going nowhere (until some Premier League club offers silly money) then say "we couldn't turn that amount down". It's all smoke and mirrors.
We might look daft, but we're not stupid! ๐Ÿ˜.

Once you sign a contract loyalty goes out the window. You become a mercenary. Work for th highest pay packet. let's hope the Chinese rumors are true. Then we can get a few good mercenaries instead of the dross we keep getting.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

02 Aug 2016 13:13:20
Have you seen any of this dross play I have and in my opinion and some others on this site we have signed decent players. So maybe you should wait till you see them play before you decide their worth.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 15:00:56
Dross? Do you know something we don't know Decs? I'm pretty happy with the areas we have signed players. Could do with another CB, but other boxes have been ticked. As for Taylor, I see where you're coming from, but even if we matched his wages I think he'll still go. Could be another couple of seasons before we're in the Prem and he's seen his mates make the move. I don't think we can judge until at least a couple of months in, but give them a chance and they might surprise you.

02 Aug 2016 16:29:17
i can see some fans upset but. all sports men believe in themselves, have a will to win and positive mental attitude, this is what makes them pros as much as thier talent. For this reason they strive to be the best they can be, test themsleves against the best and play against the best. All young players must believe they have what it takes to play at the heightest level. this coupled with a better wage means they have little choice.

would you rather work with and for the best in your feild of work and get a pay rise or stay in current job?

I know it is sad but we have to understand this, of course money plays a big factor but have players not always wanted to play at the hiesgtst level? have players not always left league 2 clubs for league 1 clubs when possible?

as for the dross I think they will do quite well and think this has been our best signings for years.

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Aug 2016 11:29:05
Disappointed in Taylor tbh. It looks like he made up his mind last season, so he gave us just one full season. At least Byram gave us 3 and half years. The clubs he's been linked to aren't ambitious moves, so it must only be money motivated. He's been poorly advised by an agent only out for himself. It's not like we're in a bad way either. Monk, Hernandez, Roofe, good young players coming through, we actually have a chance at a good season. How are Burnley more ambitious than us? They have no desire to remain a PL, they just want tv money and parachute payments.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

02 Aug 2016 14:08:23
The way of the world I'm afraid
Just seems strange that clubs like. Bourenmouth. Leicester. West ham. Middlesbrough and like can be more attractive than Leeds
But that is down to prem money. They have it. We ain't.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 16:31:34
it's not just prem money it is prem exposure, prem opposition and prem players.

Taylor has a chance to be on MOTD, play against the best, better himself and break into the england team. or stay at leeds.

any prem football is better than championship football sadly, worse comes to worse he plays well burnley come down but he will get in to england team and sucure a move to top prem club. As a sportsman that has to be his aim and his belife in himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 10:29:12
Now what I don't get is why Taylor would really want to leave and go to one of the clubs reportedly after him, if it is not for money!?
Boro, west brom and the favourites burnley all have a good chance of relegation next season.
Something is building at E. R. why not wait to see how we are in January?
Byram ok went to a top side, but even cook at bornemouth is a questionable move career wise!
Oh well get 6/ 7 million for him, literally auction him off to the highest bidder, use 1 million for Rico Henry and get a couple of quality cbs then happy days.

02 Aug 2016 13:09:40
Yes Ben, to be fair Sam, Cook, Taylor etc. were all going to move on if we didn't get promoted. That was the only chance of keeping them. Can't expect them not to want PL glory and wages etc. Sam and Cookie served us well. I don't feel as much loyalty to Taylor and I think we should get rid asap now he's handed in a transfer request. Just hope MC doesn't decide to be bloody minded and refuse to let him go.

02 Aug 2016 13:35:01
agree ben sell taylor go for hemry, unfortunately this is football always a bigger fish .
It's a shame to lose Cook and Taylor but we want players that want to wear the shirt for he start of the season .
And please don't get me started on the so called fair play rules as the soap box is waiting .

Feeling cheerfully optimistic about the forthcoming season. Some seemingly good signings and although we have lost Cook, Vieira may well fill the gap. We need two or three more defenders. Anyway, come QPR at the weekend I will definitely be downing the pints MM!

what a difference a summer makes, going from a lot of negitivty (which I can understand) to being quite positive but then it is the hope that kills us.

Old Chaz has put in a written transfer request. good luck to him, this is sadly how football works, I love the lad but we can live without him just as we will cook.

Id love to see taylor gone by wednesday with his replacement already lined up and ready to start against QPR, the lad from league 1 who many have been touting seems a good call for me, then get in birdcut and one quality cb and I think with monk we will be top six. i'm happy with wingers, happy up front and in goal and could live without bridcut but just really want that one quality cb and think we will be good to go. funny cook and taylor were our best players but we will be stronger without them, funny old game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Aug 2016 10:21:24
You are right BM. We will be stronger without Cook and Taylor because Cellino has re-invested. Fair play to him and if we bring in another left back (Rico Henry) , Bridutt and a meat head at the back, I think we'll have a much stronger team than if we'd broke the bank to keep Cook and Taylor. Fair play to Cellino and bring on the new season. My kidneys are ready for some serious DTP UTW action!

V good so far. Plus - Taylor to go; Henry and and the Jamaican Centre Half ( there's a dearth of good centre Backs) and Bridcutt in. I wouldn't be unhappy with that.

Great signings so far, well done GM and MC.
Bring in the quality defenders now and I'll be confident of a top 6 finish, top 10 the minimum.

First game of season live on tv in Aus. Nice one
My pennies worth is. If we get a good quality CB. Another midfield general. And one good striker. Then we should be up there
Not sure we will get a striker though which really worries me. I'm thinking. Wood Murphy. Taylor. And one of the wingers can be let go in order to get quality in those 3 areas. Prob going to get bridcutt. So mainly at back and up front.
Looking forward to my first glimpse of monkeys whites. I'm sure it will be an improvement on the last few years just not convinced the finished article yet!
