Seems Redfearn's negotiation to first team coach is not going well, let's hope they get there heads together and sort it we don't need more turmoil.

Think (and hope), it's Redders way of demonstrating he is not prepared to be a doormat. It's a risky strategy, but he's no fool. Keep the faith!!

Whats going on?
Please explain?

Aus
Seems, according to the press, there is wrangling over the wage. Difficult to tell what the situation is or what is press speculation. Redders said earlier this week he did not expect anything tied down til after this weekend, the press are now saying he wants a contract signed before the weekend, but no statement from Redders confirming that

Agree0 Disagree0

Its probably MC trying to do things on the cheap again. The Hock was supposedly only on 70k a year, Darko probably on double or treble that.

Redders probably wants the going rate, which was what MC was not willing to pay initially (as in the beginning of the season).

I give him a lot of credit for coming over and buying the club, but he has had to learn fast how the league is run and the strength of the other sides.

We should finally find out is young Dawson ready, or ever will be ready, for the 1st team. I expect Redders to at least have him involved with the matchday squad. Here's hoping he can cut it because there no doubting the boy can play, just maybe the physical demands could hold him back.

oapjudge, Sorry not replied earlier, just got back from 3 days in Portugal. The reason why I asked which circuit you were on is let's put it this way, you sent 'em down, & I locked 'em up. Almost ten years ago, I'd had enough of rip off Britain, I moved to Spain for a better life, a much better cost of living, & let's not forget the sun, (no not the paper, that bright object in the sky) Would I go back to England, absolutely not, The lifestyle out here is about 100% better than in the UK. I'll give you just one for example, my monthly water bill is usually between 5/6 euros. Also I get to see teams playing 'football' in La Liga.

The Wednesday after the Saturday before I've got to admit I'm feeling more positive! personally thought Darko was not given enough time, when news broke of his departure! But if Redders is given time? we could have a very skilled, youthful team, that plays the right brand of football we have been craving, for such a long time!

Exactly and I expect to lose a few games but we will be watching good football that's what I pay to see. Young team all getting to know each other but this time next year will be a joy. In Jan we need to bring in cover for Warnock and someone with a bit of pace on the wing, although Monty can play out wide but more effective cutting infield. Hope Redders makes full use of the squad because Dawson, Phillips, Taylor are of an age where they need to be involved at a higher level.

BIGE
I know what your saying but I'm sure Redders will know who, when and if any of the youngsters are ready to make the step up, as you say this time next season they should be maturing and trying to stamp a regular first team spot if they are good enough.

Exciting times ahead when was the last time we said that I wonder!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but we played good football under Darko and lost yet you'd be happy to do the exact same under Redfern??

Makes no sense that.

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason given for Darko's departure, was his tactical set up was to negative!! In other words not very entertaining!! From a result perspective not very rewarding, hence the clamour for his head!

Agree0 Disagree0

Was excited when brian took over. He let me down
Was excited when darko took over. He had lots of time but let me down
Im excited now redders has taken over
This is a good team and semi good squad, Top 6 team. I have watched a few games this season. Havent seen a really good team yet
A good coach come manager can get us in top 6
Over to you redders

Sorry Smitch but imo we only played decent stuff for 45 mins in most games under darko not the required 90. Then we went negative, invited teams on to us & squandered points. I'll support whoever the coach is (including darko), but can understand why Massimo got rid. Too negative

Agree0 Disagree0

Smitch and Ausman

I supported Darko and would have supported him a bit longer, but I don't think we were often going to see exciting attacking football under him. Redders has a different philosophy, which should lead to football that's more exciting to watch AND gives better results. Probably true that we will lose some games because we are not defensive enough -but the possibility of the combination of Redders, some great youngsters, who we know he will give a chance to, and some good summer signings by MC is very exciting imo. I like the idea of watching a young multi-national team that should only get better and better over the next year or two. I think the future is now potentially whiter than it has been for years

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Speedy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, in those 4 games under Redders we scored 7 and conceded 2. Not half bad, could have something to do with not inviting the opposition on to us, pressing high up the pitch and giving them plenty to do by attacking ourselves. don't think udders had a shot on goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Speedy + Ausman

I think Redders will use youngsters more, I think he understands the championship better, I think he will play positive football when we can, I think he has shown he can make changes when the game needs it.

so on that basis he is a better bet than donny Darko was (like you speedy I would have given more time but I also said that if he had not won after 8 games then time to go as it ain't meant to be).

Coach did seem a bit negative to me and if the championship shows you anything it is that a lot of teams much of a muchness, so it you are positive, fit, quick (OK we lack this bit) and take a chance you will win a lot of games and as we know any team that wins 3-4 games on the spin shoots up this league as their is lots of draws.

Redders has the raw materials in the squad as we all say and I just feel he may be the man to make this young team work. hope so

Agree0 Disagree0

Darko and Redfern picked the exact same lineup. Just you watch on Saturday. Redfern will pick the diamond just like Milanic. He'll play Cook, Mowatt, Austin and Bianchi, just like Milanic. He'll play Antenucci and Doukara, just like milanic etc etc. Was Redferns side that got Darko sacked.

Drop the diamond
and
Drop some of the youth

Agree0 Disagree0

But Smitch, you just said we played good football under Darko! The point is how you use that team to its strength and that is not to go all negative when one up. Its strength lies in the attack potential

Agree0 Disagree0

Smitch
Austin is injured so don't think he will play
I think you may be surprised by the team (and bench) on Saturday

Agree0 Disagree0

We weren't defensive under Darko, we just lacked experience to grab the game by the gonads in the second half of games v Rotherham, Watford and Wolves.

Morrison at it again blaming the language barrier. He was telling them how to play and they could not understand him, no Steve they just was not listening to you.

morison not plated 18mths came on telling what he wants a case of my way only but who's not been playing you and your rubbish anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

I think if I was a player and the coach had just been changed, I would keep my head down, my gob shut, and let my football do the talking

Dawson and Montenegro training with the first team, nice to see. Will be interesting to see where Redders goes with his squad and staff. I have a sneaky feeling we will see Hunt involved in some way

no not hunt like morison 30k a week for what rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

That is good to hear, and not really any surprise. Hunt his assistant?

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Speedy, I know Redders rates Hunt as a positive influence on the youth and he is talking of promoting internally

Agree0 Disagree0

Hunt academy!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hunt is a good guy
Just not first team material
Im ok with assistant or youth team manager. Good luck to him. He never complains. Just does his best!

Agree0 Disagree0

Upupandaway (you got your head in the clouds)

It's ONLY been said a thousand times no one at Leeds on 30k!!
