What a great result, great confidence booster first of all but most importantly what a tribute to Gary Speed who is without doubt, a true legend and will be sorely missed not only by Leeds fans but it been clear he was one of those rare footballers who was respected and loved by football fans in general across the country regardless of whether he played for their team.
I just can't believe what has happened. Tributes always get thrown about when something tragic like this happens but the national reaction and sadness shows what kind of person he was, I also work with someone who was a youth player when Speedo was a first team player and words can't describe how gutted he was.
Gary Speed - a true gent and legend, you'll never be forgotten. RIP and I can't explain how much I hope we can get promotion and make you proud looking down on us

Great to see the Simon Grayson fan club come out in force - at last he plays Howson in front of the 4 man midfield in a counter attacking 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1 formation...! its taken half the season to realize a flat 4.4.2 with his team selection doesn't always work best
Well done Simon - the coffee smells great..! {Ed007's Note - While you guys are in a good mood, (and remembering I tipped you for a play off place at worst) how is O'Dea doing for you? Thanks.}
O'Dea's done pretty well as centre back - not so well when when he was playing left back.
As for the above post I almost agree. but, in fairness to Larry, I suspect that he'd have played 4-5-1 all along if Becchio had been fit at the start of the season. Brown was also injured early on and that made it almost impossible since we didn't have either a natural holding player either up front or in midfield until we brought Keogh and Varynen in on loan - and Varynen arrived needing to get fit again.
He hasn't played much recently due to concussion and suspension but when he has played he's done okay but he wouldn't set the world alight in the championship as a defender, mediocre in this division but judging by how good hooper is for you, he'd probably be the best centre back you have MOT UTB

That's more like it, please keep it up lads. MOT
Better still - fans should keep this result, and all the other results, in perspective. We're rebuilding. There will be good results, bad results and indifferent results. Given our resources and player budget, top half would be OK, top 6 good, top 2 fantastic. People hoping for more and expecting to win the title just 'because we're Leeds and we're a massive club' are just not being realistic.

A Fitting tribute to Gary Speed in tonight's result.Hope we can do the same on sat.the fans sounded as expected absolutely superb.I gave Grayson a big thumbs down against Barnsley, but he changed formation tonight and it's worked so well done to him, hopefully this is the result to ignite our season.
Ignite the season? We were already in 5th before the game.
And stuttering with bad performances. don't bury your head.
Need to stop losing at home.
All teams have bad performances - Arsenal and Man U have lost games badly this season and I expect Chelsea fans won't be too impressed with last night. The people burying their heads are those who still think we're a champions league club. We're not. Get real.
This time last season we were in an almost identical position, and we only just missed out.
If we can manage not to have the same disastrous second half of the season that the last 2 years brought, we should be there or there about.

i love it when sad pathetic grayson haters get proven wrong and are left red faced by what this great manager does for this football club
Shut up.....if you haven't got anything positive to say then f*** off. He is hardly great and everyone has their opinion. Tonight we got a well earned 3 points, but Saturday is another game....
Maybe you should read posts better,i dont think any leeds fan HATES grayson, far from it we just feel we need a change, needs to change things around .tonight he did and it came off for him,but needs to get more consistant results.mot
Erm............we're 5th from the top, not the bottom! Get behind Simon and the lads and let's win PROMOTION in memory of Gary Speed.
MOT!!
Im sure what i said from the outset was positive sticking up for Grayson?!
4 wins in 5 not consistent enough for you mate? Do you really think we should be winning every game?
29 Nov 2011 21:30:15
It seem's to me that the answer to all our problems is play all our games away from home so the players don't have anxiety attacks from the home crowd. So get of their backs.
Someone on Y/R phone in on Tues night suggested to play in black away kit as mark of respect and also as its away kit we might play better!
29 Nov 2011 21:23:58
At last we have arrived 4-5-1 brilliant let's carry on with it and we will go up especially playing white as a winger, I think Larry gas got it right for the first time this season howson knows his role so does clayton brown sits.
Fitting result to honour speedo ! lets get out of this league for him !! and cant we just get on for a week b4 the bickering starts again !!! mot !
29 Nov 2011 21:15:06
There's only one Simon Grayson....
Well done Simon for getting plan B right. now let's build on it, starting with home form.
SG thought about it and changed the team tonight, we lost the midfield battle big time against Barnsley and something had to change. 5 in the middle should make us more difficult to beat, and we will still score goals. Great to see Becchio back, we need him. He holds the ball up for those joining from midfield and also scores goals. Finally, wonderful win in memory of Speedo. A great night to produce.
29 Nov 2011 20:56:46
3-0!! ASSIST BY MICHAEL BROWN HAHHA TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO SAID " why has he put brown in....blah blah blah" EAT YOUR WORDS!!
You got the score wrong - it's 4-0
I stand corrected...4-0!!!!!!!! HAHA
29 Nov 2011 20:53:53

Let's make that 3. Luccianooooo......
4-0, to the super leeds
29 Nov 2011 19:50:39
Why on earth has McCormack been dropped...he finally scores after a bad run, so has his confidence back up, and his reward to sit on the bench! Don't understand the reasoning behind this at all. Becchio up top on his own :s and Brown in midfield..looks like we want a 0-0 scoreline!
Eating your words? have some faith for crying out loud! 2-0 up at half time...
Haha fool. not a clue what you're talking about!
'Don't understand the reasoning?' Don't ever apply for the job then mate, because it's clear from the way we've played so far that Grayson knows a bit more about it than you do. And anyone writing this drivel BEFORE kick off should be ashamed. Supporter you are not - T*SSER you clearly are.
People moan about sg not rotating squad and formation and when he does you moan before kick off. eat your words douche bag and like the other post please do not apply for the job. MOT.
Doing well for a 0-0 scoreline then aren't we..... na na na na
Ever heard of resting players? LOL
Maybe he dropped him to motivate him, make him work even harder... Not such a bad decision in the end Anyway was it.
Ok Ok i'll hold my hands up, i made a mistake. Im more than happy for grayson to show me up! U have to admit though Becchio didn't look like scoring in previous games and Brown has been totally anonymous all season, so i certainly had my doubts. Im glad they have proved me wrong 2nite and can kick on with some good form. I hold my hands up...but chill out!! Why would I apply for a leeds managers job...never said I could do it better! MOT....and more importantly a fitting tribute to Gary Speed 2nite
29 Nov 2011 19:21:57
brown in for mc cormack what a joke
Things on the up brown in the team,FFs it's so disheartening hope I am wrong but think we will get beat.come on leeds do it for speedo mot
McCormack's been poor of late - and 5 in the middle with a holding player makes absolute sense tactically. I agree we could do better than Brown in there but ever since we went 4-4-2 we've looked thin n the middle and much less of a threat up front. Anyway, let's see the result before you start whining.
Bet you feel really clever right now...
Well how silly do you feel?
I'd rather go back to playing as we did last season than accomodate McCormack. he's not the only one capable of scoring goals.
Give brown a chance, yes he was absolutely shocking at start of season, but he could of been very good in training and moving in a better direction, just a chance given to him and he might take it, could do with a couple of the players stepping it up coming up to the busy fixture period
Eating your words? have some faith for crying out loud! 2-0 up at half time...
Brown had a good game - sat & allowed Clayton & Howson to bith get goals. McCormack missed two sitters when he come on. Perhaps you could explain why that's a joke?
29 Nov 2011 19:21:50
OMG! have you seen the line up for tonight.....drops mccormack, brings in brown, pugh at left back and white in attacking midfeild!!!! just proves grayson has not got a flammin clue?? bet we get stuffed tonight,i cant put up with this for much longer! it needs sorting out and quickly!!
5 in the middle seems wise to me. Oh - and a I type we've gone 1-0 up. Hope you're feeling stupid - you ought to.
And - writing the team off before kick off - call yourself a supporter? Don't think so. F**k off and go be a glory supporter at some team with loads of cash to buy trophies.
Sorry - what's the score again?
Shows you don't have a clue
Now now children, spit the dummy's out and drink your milk.
3-0!! person
Treating people like the original poster here with utter contempt isn't childish. We need to put these 'scumpporters' in their place.
Listen pal,ive supported leeds for more than 30yrs u plank, but dont kid yourself, its called papering over cracks!!
Yeah grayson doesnt have a clue winning 4-0 away from home, youre a true fan arent you
And I've been going to every home game and many away since February 1970. This is not papering over the cracks - it's the long, slow process of rebuilding the club & the team after the Ridsdale catastrophe. We're doing well with limited resources. There are people on here still expecting to see the Revie team out there. Get real and keep your expectations at a sensible. We'll lose some games we shouldn't, we'll win some we shouldn't and if we can finish in the top half with £200k's worth of pre-season transfer spending we should be grateful. Some people on here have a rose-tinted view of the club's stature and need to learn some patience.

The news about Bristol City today highlights that what ken bates is doing is the right thing for our club in the long run. Today they announced losses of £11.45million that comes after record losses last year of £11.8 million and £6.9 million in 2009. Neil kilkenny might have left us for more money but would you want leeds in that situation. There chairman Colin Sexstone said of the news "its a big problem" "its a lot of money over three years" "wages in the championship are far too big and at Bristol City in particular they are just to much" that's from the chairman, obviously followed Risdale school, do something about it.
For this I very much doubt that Andy O'Brien will go there, well Kilkenny might of thought he was better of in the short term, how long before he's out of the door.
I say keep the wage structure I for one don't want administration again, imagine how the anti leeds media would want us punished!
Totally agree!
Well said mate, we are doing well with what we have and with the youngsters coming through we must keep the faith. NR
MOT
The first poster makes a good point well made. Whilst i feel we could invest sensibly and affordably-which i feel could take us a long way- we should not, under any circumstances spend money we cannot afford. With financial fair play coming in, it is important that clubs spend only what they earn. As for Kilkenny, it says a lot when you are willing to leave Leeds for Bristol City!!
Good post. A lot of people here seem to think that we should buy our way back to the premiership and that our current position isn't good enough. Either those people have very short memories, are deluded or both. We need to rebuild slowly and organically and accept the fact that we won't be seeing and more 'f**king great goals in the San Siro' for a good few years yet. Larry's doing a good job with what he's had to work with, the club isn't at risk from financial collapse and we've made good progress in the last 3 years. A bit more patience and a bit of true support is what the club needs. People forking out cash for a ticket instead of whining about the manager...
PORTSMOUTH!!

Lets fill ER on Saturday and give Gary a Leeds Utd send off he thoroughly deserves.
This would be the ideal time for Ken Bates to reduce the tickets, fill the ground and give Gary the best send off us Leeds fans know how. It may give him the ammunition to reduce in the future when he see's the atmosphere back again. Either way, lets dedicate saturday to our legend, Gary Speed. NR
MOT {Ed025's Note - thats a great idea mate..come on ken, do the business..

Went to elland road last night to see the tributes to gary speed when I spotted a man u shirt saying “from a football fan to a football legend”. It just goes to show we are all united at this sad time. So gutted right now. Lacy leeds
Agreed - and can some of you learn a lesson here and please stop singing songs about Munich? Real human beings; sons, husbands, brothers, fathers died on that plane and those songs, as well as being evil, are a gift to a media generally hostile to our beloved club. {Ed025's Note - 100% behind you there mate..
29 Nov 2011 00:04:06
My deepest sympathy goes out to Leeds Utd at this tragic time. Gary Speed was a wonderful footballer and human being. From a broken hearted Evertonian. (Wavertree Blue) {Ed025's Note - well said wavo..
