The frustrating thing is we're trying to do the right things. Unlike the last few seasons we have round pegs in round holes. We have wingers. I think Rosler does not believe that the squad is good enough, hence Erwin not getting a chance and repeated use of Doukara from the bench. Rome wasn't built in a day, we're making progress but it is going to take time to get it right.

I admire your patience and all in all its been a semi acceptable start to the season. But oh yes indeed, got to have a butt! One should learn from mistakes. So
Why still playing bell
Why still playing silv ( I honestly think back four jitters are his fault ). I cringed every time a ball was crossed on sun
Why play Douk
Why not play turnball or give Erwin a go? Just a try.
This league is so open this year we can afford to experiment a bit. Nobody will runaway with it!
And if it dosent work. Try something else.

Think Erwin not being included is because of his fee, compensation, is still being decided. If he gets straight into first team may be higher valuation. If he is loaned out maybe lower valuation. Or maybe not good enough yet but he looks ready to me for 20 mins here and there

Talk on Leeds game v Middlesbrough bad day at the office we will get games like that but what worry's me is we will sell Sam Byram in January for I would expect cheap with only 6 months left on contract . I say good his attitude is poor but how can Leeds compete with the top teams in the championship if we want to cut players wages offering Sam Byram new 4 year deal with less money than he is on aswell . this tells me wages are costing us players the striker that picked Wednesday over Leeds . they offered more money joey Barton again down to wages we didn't get him would of given us premier experience Just my view Leeds won't go up in next 2 years hope I'm wrong mot

Have sympathy for your argument! Our problem is we need £2million a season for rent on ER and TA,plus our past owners have left us with unpaid bills, which we get stung for every year.

Deda Land is right about the rent but don't forget everything else. We as a club were losing a little over £1m a month when Cellino came in. We had players on inflated wages we couldn't really afford and a huge amount background staff we didn't really need. All that's been trimmed back to the point where we have a young team (many of which are in house developed) and we are supposedly just about breaking even now.

We missed out on Barton, would have loved to get him, but we offered £20k a week which is a top Championship wage, he wanted double. Forestieri would have cost more than Wood and has scored 1 goal so no real missed opportunity.
As for Byram i'm surprised we offered a lower wage but its good we are not been held to ransom by players on wages above their skill level or agents asking for prem wages for their clients.

With Wood out we should give Erwin a go upfront, or maybe the U21 striker who is in form at the moment.

We only have 3 possible strikers, wood (injured), Antennuci(old) and Erwin (young). We also have Doukara, why not give him a game upfront.

IMO Doukara is not good enough. I don't even think he should make the bench.

I was surprised that Erwin was not brought in seeing as Wood didn't travel. Rosler keeps on bigging him up and his effort in training and the youth squad, but doesn't seem to give him any opprutunity to show what he can do.

We need to bring another striker in if Erwin and Philips / walters and the rest of the youth squad aren't going to get a chance.

Hopefully this is in addition to Buckley.

Less of calling Ant old Elephant-grass, he is the same age as me and I don't intend to admit to been old for another 10 years or so! and anyway Totti is still banging them in at 39 so he could have years left in him yet.

Don't think Wood is out for long, they would have made an announcement by now if it was more than a niggle surely. With Buckley coming in that means Botaka can move up front as a Striker if we need him to so we should be ok. Get Erwin out on loan so he can get some proper English league football under his belt for me.

seen a lot of negavite posts, and I can see where some are coming from and yes yesterday was a bit of a joke however.

so many have said defence is a joke or poor. we have been hard to beat this year. we have not conceeded that many in general, so defence can't be that bad, taylor is great player at this level and exciting prospect, Baradi is as good as it gets in champ, sol is good although his style will lead to costly mistakes (reading game so if wrong it opens up) cooper has been very good this year and saved many goals. Yesterday we played a poor player any defensive unit will fall apart when one peice of the unit is not good enough. So would like a cb but when cooper plays we are not that bad at all.

to lack of pace issues. cook has pace and burst forward well, mowatt is not quick and hs been poor this season but showed class last season, murphy also is decent at this level, adimei is not quick but his game is to break play not break forward. Dallas, SB and dakota, all showed pace purpose and skill so this is not bad, Ant is quality and wood is great, some people have even slated wood how his record for us has been good, his record before us has been good.

we are work in process and getting better every week, yesterday showed how one player can ruin a good performance as we were not that bad yesterday and had a good goal chalked off (so were not toothless) things will get better and to all leeds fans slagging us off, saying joke and disgrace get a grip that is not what leeds are about. I have lost it in the past but not with a team and performances like this season, things are on up not down so MOT don't PAB (P@@s and B@@ch)

I tend to agree with most of what you say, team is building and that game was more like a 2-1 defeat than 3-0 in many aspects and anyway 1 game does not make you great or a disgrace, never understand people who seem to judge on a single specific performance it is more about the general direction/feel of the team which in my opinion has potential.

Mind you does anyone know what he put Bell-End in instead of cooper? I get the other changes but not this one, for me you keep you center back pairing the same as much as possible so I don't get the logic of the pick, even if he had played OK I would still have said this, a big risk which failed big time.

Also I would not have Doukara in the team, he hasn't done anything for ages, give either Erwin or that kid he is scoring in the U21's a go, why not, we know what douk can do (not much) so have something different that may be better.

Anyone heard of Wood's injury in terms of how long out?

If he is fit then out front options (wood/ buckley/ Dallas with the wiz/ant on bench is a very strong championship attack), back 4 could be reasonable with Bamba/ coopers, Taylor/ Berardi with Bryam on bench, I would say maybe look at another experienced center half as clearly Bellusci has lost it. so our full backs are very strong for the championship, CH's are around average I would say and flapper is all things considered again just above average keeper for championship.

So far not bad, now midfield, Cook is clearly top dog get in most championship sides so that leaves us with Mowatt / Phillips / Adeyemi / Murphy for the other 2 places you would think that with cook our midfield could be very strong, it is just lacking a little for me at the moment now can 2 of the other come good more of the time (all have shown potential but none of them often enough for me) or do we get an experienced holding/enforcer type to keep midfield ticking?

So 2 questions my fellow fans do we need to strengthen the midfield/defense and (bearing in mind the money) which one should we do if we can only strengthen one more area?

We will win on Saturday now, I can sense it.

I agree with what you're saying BW, but most of the posts I have read on here have been positive about the performance and the only slagging off has been for Bellusci's woeful performance. You mentioned him being the one weak link in the defensive unit which was exactly the same thing as I said last week. For the OG, we weren't set up badly at all and when the ball came into the box, were favourites to deal with it if the said players listened to the shout and did the simple things effectively. What Bellusci did was unforgivable and tried to make himself look good (which he does on a regular basis) and completely threw out the basic principles of defending.

I think in the main most fans on here and the ones I have spoken to at ER are quietly confident. We are improving and will get better as the season goes on. A top ten finish is still very much a reality. I don't think Cellino will want us to get into the play-offs judging by his comments and will not invest in January. Like DG or George said, it's very hard to do business in January in any case.

For me Middlesbrough are the strongest team in the League. I had them going up as champions before the first game and it looks like a good bet still. As a result I had them away as the toughest game of the season and a probable loss. For them to win it due to a moment of madness and some wretched luck rather than playing us off the pitch? That should be a cause for optimism not concern.

This game is all about goals.
For offsides, if level (maybe yes maybe no) - award a goal. If in doubt - award a goal.
The benefit of the doubt should always be given to the attacking team and if that is not an FA rule then it should be.
Am I mistaken but some time ago was it not a refereeing directive to only blow if there was clear air between the players?

Interesting game.
We were the better team I reckon. But we were toothless. Boka did well without really threatening. Ants goal was tad offside but the ref wouldn't have been able to see that so should have gone with lines mans original verdict
We were absolutely atrocious at defending crosses. Middlesbrough new they only had to put a cross in and 50-50 chance of a goal. I know not silvs fault but really, silv. Bellusci and Bamba all poor.
Mid player should have been sent off.
I haven't seen a decent team yet so league any ones
But we were as good as middlesbourough and lost 3-0 so things need changing. Starting with defence.

agree all that needed changing was belluchi, sol is good and worked well with cooper who has been very good. it must be hard for sol when placed next to a clown, even charlton or radebe would struggle next to belluchi. think it was one off rather than whole back four needs work. also missing our best striker so was always going to be hard against a team that don't let many in
