Good fun this guess the new Manager/Coach Game ! Have no idea who it is going to be, Jeff's not returning my calls. My money's on him being Italian 😎 What I do think has been somewhat overlooked since Monkey's departure is. Since GFH we have been so lucky with regards ownership. MC, whatever your take, without thus man there would have been no debate in which to argue. So we got one of the worlds best firefighters at the exact right time, the Red Adaire of football. MC was kind enough to ensure ownership transferred to a proper international businessman (he could have taken any idiotic offer) who has since appointed the most high profile board/exec team we've had in my lifetime. Is it too many shandy's ? But I'm really very excited about our future and am relaxed that the Manager/Coach appointment will be fantastic. Think we are sometimes guilty of looking for our recent past to bite us in the %#% rather than realising we're about to jump to a whole new level. Just me then 🤣MOT

Good post 92. In the circumstances MC best we could hope for 2 years ago. In the end, he actually did a good job. Rad is a very powerful and brilliant businessman. He is going to be great for us.

Two things we need sorted quickly, the manager and pre season. We need a proper one with good, competitive fixtures, please not Ireland again. France or Germany would be my pick.

Agree sg. Could be diff between playoffs and auto New manager. Buy and sell. Good pre season. let's do it right for once. No faffing about. don't wait for teams to sell at best price. Make a one time offer. Then move in.

Think Monk may have overvalued his stock and believed all the hype about himself ( created by a reasonably good season after so many poor ones ) He was looking to maximise his future contract and therefore any dismissal payout that may follow On reflection think the club/Rads could see the weaknesses and were not going to commit ( being cautious) given their uncertainties about Monk (loosing dressing room and poor results at the end of season) . If this is the case did Rads come to this conclusions alone or did his advisers help influence his position? As if this is the case it looks like we may some very astute people a the helm of the club which in turn would give confidence going forward

Spot on mate, Monk did ok, but we need a stronger manager who can get the squad to kick on when the going gets tough. Championship is a hard enough division to get out of, this coming season will see lots of Yorkshire derby's which we don't always do great in.

Monk did better than previous managers, because we had a better team than previous seasons. His negativity since Derby cost us our best chance for years for promotion. Are Reading or Hudds really any better than us?

Gents what I think is really telling about the whole monk thing is that there doesn't appear to be anyone remonstrating that it's a terrible decision/an awful thing. These a few people who would have liked him you stay, but as a collective I get the feeling that after the last 13 games of the season he won't be missed that much

I remember complaining after the Fulham game that Monk's ultra defensive tactics would cost us a playoff place and I got shot down for it. He deserves to be criticised for needlessly throwing away our best chance in years for promotion.

Just got back from two weeks in the sun to this bombshell. Trying to catch up on recent events so at LUFC. Before going away I thought all we need to do is do business straight away, whether that was with or without Monk. Uddersfield got it right last close season. They got players in early doors and got them playing together. By the time we hit our purple patch, they were steaming away. I liked Monk and to be fair he did well with a team that other than a good defence and a 20+ striker would have otherwise struggled. Considering we had 12 + midfielders to choose from I don't know how we didn't get that right. However, he's gone, so get the new man in and fingers crossed.
