Reality check today against a side that we will need to be above next season if we are to mount a serious promotion challenge.
Watford had a pace and directness that did for Bamba and Cooper whilst our attack did not cause the same problems for their equally poor defence.
Wootton is not a right back and his lack of positional sense and I felt lack of fitness saw him hamper Byram who always went inside as Wootton gave him no options.
We lack pace all over the pitch and is a problem in defence and attack.
We are too slow and predictable when going forward, there is no zip. Vydra and Deeney were quick and their movement superb.
We have a long long way to go people

We do have a long way to go but this season down isn't one of them and neither is up. This season is a right off, but it will allow Redders to become a better coach and the players to gel better ready for next season(its a shame, but this is exactly what I said when MacD took over)

We have the basis of a great squad, just need to supplement it with the wingers we have been crying out for all season and some decent pace up front. We need to solidify the defence a little and get rid of all the loan players that have been brought in without any thought into what the coach needs.

We need Ngoyi fit. Our midfield is full of players who want to get forward. We've lacked a defensive midfield player for the last few years. We need to get past 50 points ASAP. Then call back Ajose, go 4-4-1-1. With our top scorer up front.

Agree. Ajose should be with us next season

He's coming in she's coming in blaa blaa you get paid a hell of a lot more than all of of us earned in a week! can't believe that the amount of effort put in by certain players amount's to this sub-par performance! Redfern stop playing to Morisons awful long ball get on the floor and pass u doughnut.rant over m.o.t

Morison didn't play yesterday, or against Brighton and we lost both!
The system with him playing has worked well and able to bring the midfield into play where the goals have come from!
Just food for thought

Biggest disappointment of the season so far has to be Adryan everyone was so excited when he signed for us and he hardly played all season and when he has he's been average enough I'd say he ll be sent back to his own club at the end of the season.he is young and I think he needs some fist team time to settle in and be a quality player for us before he's let go because if Morrison is given all them chances in the side there's no reason why Adryan shouldn't.

He had a bad injury just after he came, which needed an op I believe. He's back in Italy and won't play again this season

Thought we played well in patches today. Defence was poor, but has been strong the past few weeks. Both Brighton and Watford matched us in midfield and that has been our strong point of late. Unfortunately we have no plan B and teams know that, so we are becoming predictable. Personally I think we will be safe with another couple of wins and when we are we should play players who will be here next season. I don't see many of the loanees being here next season with the possible exception of Bamba. Give Walters a shot and maybe try something different.

Will keep saying it, we won't win nowt with kids in midfield. Need experienced pro's to get us out of this league. Need 4/5 signings if we're to challenge next season

28 Feb 2015 18:34:42
Well I would think everyone would agree we need some new signings to mount a challenge. Not seen anyone say the current squad is good enough.
But I think today we lost mainly because of a cock up in the defence and 3 missed chances in first 5 minutes of second half. despite Billy popping one in

It's all about Cooper
We have lost 2 on the trot and he's dreadful.
Bamba made mistakes today but gave everything and also saved us.Cooper looked like a complete mug.
Hadn't got a clue what to do.

watford are a very good team. Cook and mowatt are amazing players, if you don't play kids when young when will they learn and where will they get experince from. of course we need signings every team other than the three go up do as they have not got promotion. I think one place we do not need signings is to replace the kids in mindeilfd

Totally agree, and playing every week is the only thing that's going to keep our young stars from going elsewhere

These things are cyclical, we need an old head in midfield look what happened the last time we had a crop of kids coming through, signed Strachan and he was the influence in midfield and that is what we are lacking the midfield general, the head that can say calm it down, pick the simple ball etc, yesterday we went 2 - 0 up and took a massive step backwards and invited Watford to run at us which is what they did with great effect. Unfortunately I cannot think of anyone that could do that role for us that Strachan did inthe current English game or that would fit in to our wage structure for that matter.
Also yes Wootton is out of position and it does show but we have no one else of a sufficient standard, interestingly I have to say we missed Bellusci for all that he is a liability I don't think Deeney would have dictated the play up front as much as he did. As for a goal scorer we have more forwards than most teams in the division and not one of them i'd performing in the main role of the position namely sticking the ball in the back of the net, this all points to Salerno not understanding the needs of the Championship and what type of player it takes to get out of it in the right direction, also does he listen to what Redfearn and Thompson suggest as players or is he paying lip service to them?

Disappointing result today after being 2 - 0 up but we were always susceptable to Watford's quick counters. Bamba and Cooper had poor games today, Silvestre is scared of coming off his line and which made the first and second goals for Watford easier to score. I also felt that Cook had a quiet game (despite what Redfearn thinks) as the wind was taken out of his sails with the early booking. Finally, it frustrates me that Redfearn does not make any tactical changes until the damage is done. We should have shut up shop in the first half to keep it at 2-0. Easier said than done but we made no tactical change despite the fact that Watford were making in roads

yes Watford came into game at end of first half ball through middle but did same in second half but clearly no team talk at half time to find a way to stop it hence we lost when really we should of won about 4-0 bad day at office

Disappointed to say the least.
Poor decision making at the back, can't believe how few header Cooper wins, need Bellushi back. Taylor had a nightmare, Wooton isn't good enough or fit enough. Cook was knackered and should have come off at half time, although he did have some class towards the end, but not enough to stay on the pitch.
Austin was class and Murphy was quality in the first half but faded in the second half. Basically they bossed the midfield after 30 minutes and we didn't track back at all.
Billy Sharpe I thought had a great game, ran his socks off till the end and pulled them all over but couldn't do it on his own.
We didn't play well in the second half other than the first 5 minutes when we could have scored 3.
Watford aren't good enough for the Premiership, if they go up it will be embarrassing, they will get humped every week!

I done BELIEVE it!

2 - 0 up coasting

Sly sports say we could be coasting 4 - 1 early in the second half (Austin and Sharp missed sitters)

And yet we loose 3 - 2

WTF is going on!
