i have a arsenal joke
why do fans of arsenal always say they are going to win the league at the start of the season

answer
because they start there for a whole mouth {Ed013's Note - Poor mate}

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Utter drivel. You started badly tailed off in the middle less said about ending the better. Otherwise, you are Sellers reborn. That's Peter. Not Scott.

I have to say that I don't think that we should sign Thomas, and definitely not Tonge. Thomas started well, but in the last three or four games has been absent. I believe there are better wingers out there (e.g. Gradel, Templeton). Tonge in my opinion is a pile of sh*te. Yes maybe he played well against Wednesday a few weeks ago, and maybe he can strike a good dead ball, but his touch in woeful, can't pass for rubbish and again there are far better options out there!

Please Warnock, think before you spend! MOT

Believable9 Unbelievable11

He seemed to make a good pass to Thomas against Chelsea. You know. The one which ended up in the back of the next 5 seconds later.

Agree6 Disagree2

One pass! greats lets sign him up!

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Dec 2012 05:50:04
Nothing wrong with tonge he's there to win the ball and make the pass that's it .everyone seems to think he should be doing tricks and beating ppl or something .
im not sure Thomas is the player for us either i feel he's a little weak .his challenges in the air are poor and goes down too easy maybe just missing the aggression i think of him as an impact player from the bench same as hall but both do have potential

Agree0 Disagree1

When tonge plays and is past the ball, he looks like a rabbit stuck in the headlights and Thomas is far to light weight for me. Everytime he gets the ball in a good position he stops and then starts to run, by then everyone has caught up with him and his delivery is not prem class. The one good pass was against Chelsea and thats it.
I just hope Warnock uses the money wisely?

Never mind getting Ryan Hall as our 1st signing, I think that our 1st signing should be a defensive coach. Absolute shocking defending again, one of the worst in the league. We certainly won't get promotion defending like that and how many times must we hear our manager say they will learn from that experience. Well I've got news for you, if we want promotion we need players that have learned already. I mean it's been going on for years where we just capitulate and concede a shed full. If they haven't learnt yet they never will. I told both new owners to sign a defensive coach pronto.

Believable12 Unbelievable0

We need George Graham in then {Ed013's Note - No chance after the way he went to Spurs, some fans don't forgive}

Think some of the rumours on here are old hat. Some of these so called targets were Grayson's. Surely Warnock as different targets to Grayson. One thing is for sure though we need some talent, talent that costs money not loanees.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

27 Dec 2012 19:20:50
don't think we should sign thomas, tate and def not tonge,if we sign them then we will go nowhere this season,we need better then them.we already have poor players like varney, brown ect we don't need more oldies in the squad,we need to invest now in jan or we won't go up,hall is ok as a squad player and is a cheap option to thomas but he is only a good backup player,if we sign thomas, tonge and tate 2 of the 3 are in there thirties,if we are not going to get quality in then i'd prefer to blood more youngsters who would have the energy and passion it takes to play for our great club

Believable4 Unbelievable0

To be fair to original poster I think he ment people linked like kris Boyd...shrew leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Tate and Tongue not up to it. Not sure about Thomas would much prefer Gradel back. Need to other centre halfs as Lees and Pearce not up to it and Two Centre midfiled players. Now having my doubts about how good Austin is.

Agree6 Disagree1

He was just a bit rusty as all players are after coming back from injury i wouldnt worry about austin if i were you ps. warnock put him back in far too early

Agree5 Disagree0

27 Dec 2012 18:49:54
very bad day yesterday, but lets move on... bad team selection yesterday i thought, austen was far from fit and brown is just a joke (who else saw him and kenny laughing there socks of when we were 4-1 down!) EHD was chasing shadows and beccio was not up for the challenge? i think mccormack and norris need to come in on saturday. we then need to buy a few players in january. people also saying how the loan players have made a impact, well of what i saw yesterday, thomas was poor and tate was looking very overweight and slow.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Lay off Becchio he's had a good season and he is having to Play just about every game because of the fact that we don't have any other stiker who can hold the ball up like he does, to say he's not up to the challenge is an insult to him, he defends corners better than our centre Halfs, and at present is our best striker.

Agree9 Disagree1

The service to becchio was poor when he gets the service he shine,s

Ok lets not get too downbeat, form is still ok. I too dont know why NW sticks with Brown as he offers nothing, maybe cos theyre friends. Austin and Brown yesterday was a terrible partnership i agree, one unfit and one useless. But if we had of kept our foot on the pedal yesterday we might of won. We just dropped too deep again. Maybe NW will wake up to Brown and drop him. And the mccormack thing, imo he will be offered as part exchange i presume to Brighton for CMS. So many rumours on new players but id be happy with Tonge back, a left back and a right winger. It only takes one or two quality players to make a difference. MOT. Vinny.

27 Dec 2012 16:50:19
If we have money 2 sign quality players why do people on here keep suggestin scottish dummies?

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Oh yeah stupid Scottish dummies have you forgot some are greatest players were from scotland only last season are best player was Snodgrass a scot. Oh and yeah who is that statue of outside elland road, yeah a scot the great Billy bremner!

Agree2 Disagree1

Yes your right mate such as
Bremner
E. Gray
Strachan

Lorimer

To name just some of the Scottish sh-t we have had at ER in the past
if I was you I would now be feeling like a right tit

Agree9 Disagree1

27 Dec 2012 19:58:54
Yes,the problem is most of those listed would still get a game for most scottish sides

Agree0 Disagree0

Templeton is decent. pace skill and an eye for goal and he's Scottish from what I've seen of him he'd be better than snodgrass {Ed013's Note - He has it too easy at Rangers and has personnel problems so I cant see him moving away}

Amazed that that not much being said about Warnock's results. Last season, 3 wins from 14 games. Worse run for many years. This season, lots of "new" players, 10 wins from 24. We were lucky to win some of those matches as we don't have many shots on target and our man to man marking is depressing. Hoping for change!

DublinJohnMot

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Would like to see stability at leeds but i don't think warnock is that person, his style of play at times his persistance with brown, pelts, etc, his not playing ross, norris or hall, varney, lol well enuff said, the transfer window will tell us alot about warnock and gfh come to that on how our clubs future will take shape, i think we should get rid on the deadwood loan about 4 good quality players and go with that then if we are not promoted at the end of the season then i think warnock should go.and we could rebuild for next season and have a real go at it,

Agree3 Disagree0

Agree NW not the answer

Agree3 Disagree0

Just a quick point . I think Austin would be better at cb than cm his qualities would be better used there. drop brown and get someone with pace and technique to play alongside Norris . failing that play green and Norris and hall out wide in greens place Karl mot

Agree2 Disagree5

27 Dec 2012 15:39:50
Now we've signed Ryan hall is there any chance he might get a game. Him down one wing and extend Thomas loan on the other wing with green plus someone creative in the middle and I think that's a decent midfield. I'd drop diouf and start rossco, with becchio and somma rotating upfront. So really it's our defence as per usual which is the problem, I've never been a fan of lees, and his performances this season haven't really done anything th change my mind. We need a good left back with pace, byram on the right, with Pearce plus a signing in the middle, I don't think Tate is the answer, he is a good pro but he's not got the pace. And I'd find ourselves anothe number 1 tbh. I'm not expecting to go out and splash millions but a few decent shrewd signings and we can push for promotion this season. Providing warnock gets his tactics right, and makes substitutions at the right time. Not when we are 4.1 down. Northampton white. #mot

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Do you honestly beleive NW will get a new no1 ? seriously

Agree3 Disagree0

Why drop diouf?!? He is a great player who fights for the club. He constantly gets stuck and plays very professionally taking his time in the ball and never rushing making horrendous passes like others. He may not score many but he helps build up play and helps the team out on a whole.

Agree2 Disagree0

I suppose paddy comes in warnocks contract so I guess we won't be getting rid. I know we've been on a run lately but the standard of football has been woeful, as it had been since warnock took over. If I was the new owners I'd get rid and bring someone new in with fresh ideas who doesn't play long ball crap. Northampton white.

Agree3 Disagree0

Diouf should be on the bench or the right wing . he's not as prolific in front of goal as Ross or somma and at the end of the day we need two or three strikers scoring regular not just becchio. sorry but diouf doesn't cut it as a striker Karl mot

Just see a tweet from Official LUFC site saying that news of first Jan signing to be announced on OS shortly.... Got to be Tonge..... Bet Stoke have released him, and we can now sign as a Free Agent !

Believable0 Unbelievable9

27 Dec 2012 13:16:07
I question the selection by NW also but i do thinkg some people are a little harsh. especially with the brown thing. I also think he has past it but every now and again he puts in a solid performance. you cant say that you didnt expect him to fill the hole left by Tonge. He's cleary match fit in comparison to the likes of austin. Green could have stepped into the middle but he is scoring goals on the right so its a no brainer to keep him their. Personally i thing NW put too much faith in our team yestersay - though that we could get a result and carry austin whilst he gets his fitness back. IMO he made too many changes. Pleased to see Somma back but i cant help but feel for McCormack. He needs a run in the team. Norris must be disappointed also. Id also cut Drury some slack. he did have a poor game but i think that due to lack of match practice. NW choosing to play Peliter out of position at LB whereas drury has played there for the last decade for Norwich. One final thing. NW better hurry up with his decisions over thomas and tate. their loan finsishes next wednesday.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

We are leeds we will bounce back especially with warnock brought in 2 loan signing and fortunes turn for leeds. wait till end of jan a few additions and we'll be bouncing straight back in the bit time by end of the season!

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Dec 2012 18:32:33
exactly his 2 loan signing having done to badly bit of faith things could be alot worse, we are in and around the playoff places and if we go on another good run we will be in them!

Was at the game yesterday, only naivety shown yesterday was Warnock, seven games without a win with Brown & Austin in the middle of the park & first oppurtunity Warnock gets he plays both together with a half fit Austin at best & guess what we take a hiding. Brown is no where good enough

Believable12 Unbelievable0

27 Dec 2012 13:24:52
You forget 8 games unbeaten startin wiv everton ending after bha game. Most of losing run austin was injured.

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah we did have a little spell but we played c*ap and were playing the poorer teams in the league, from the sheffield wednesday game to the millwall game we went 7 games without a win austin played 5 and a half of those, after the millwall game with tonge and norris in the middle we won 5 out of 6 before yesterdays game against teams like palace leicester middlesbrough away to huddersfield. Austin would be 1st on my team sheet but him and brown are not creative enough so why pick both of them seeing as austin was not fit anyway? there was no creativity at all.

Agree3 Disagree1

27 Dec 2012 14:24:20
How can u disagree? Those r facts not opinion

Agree1 Disagree2

If we played a 4 3 3 system with green Norris and Austin in midfield somma mcormack and becchio up front with diouf and Thomas on bench to replace any of those six we would be solid and pose much more of a threat . Thomas would be great as impact player against tired defenders. we would take it to em and win a lot more games. hope warnock reads this! Karl mot

27 Dec 2012 18:06:56

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Dec 2012 11:52:46
After watching Chelsea game and yesterdays performance cannot understand what is going through Warnock's mind. Against Chelsea we played it on the deck and at times looked a good footballing outfit able to compete with the second best club side in the world (supposedly). Yesterday we never strung more than three passes together and seemed content to hoof the ball down the middle in the hope that Becchio or Diouf could get lucky. As for bringing an unfit Austin into the side in place of Norris and then replace him with Pearce WTF. If anything it should have been Brown on the bench if Austin was to play. Obviously there is some disagreement between McCormack and Warnock because surely if fit he should be on from the start or at least given a chance to prove his worth. Instead of which he was introduced after Somma and with only 10 minutes left. I feel he will be let go this transfer window which will be a shame. Lets hope yesterday was a hangover day and we can get back to winning ways. Interesting now to see who he picks for the Hull game.
We can still turn this round and make the play-offs if the right players are brought in in January and the right players are allowed to move on. MOT Keep the faith !

Some players we could have a crack at
Frank lampard Chelsea free
George Boyd Peterborough fee between 300k-700k
QPR right back don't know his name free to leave
Johnny Russell Dundee fee 500k-1m
Lewis Mcgugan forest fee 500k
Dexter blackstock Forrest fee 700k
Michel Tonge stoke fee 250k
Alan Tate Permanently 250k-500k

I know like frank lampard wage might be too much but it is just a Suggestion and it would be good to sign all of them

Believable3 Unbelievable4

I'd be happy with your suggestion of Lampard and Tate but...

I would also like:
LB: Stephen Hendrie - Hamilton Athletic 130-200k
CM: Dan Gosling Newcastle Loan
RM: Shane Ferguson Newcastle Loan
ST: Gary Hooper £2.5-4M

I feel these would be a good improvement for the team. Hendrie is only young, but a first team regular for Hamilton for this season and last; the two loanees have played fair few prem games and are good talent; whilst Hooper is a prolific scorer at this level and the next.

I've been saying for the last few games that Thomas is a lazy footballer who isn't good enough to be lazy. I really hope we don't sign him, get someone younger and hungrier, even if that means bringing Mad Max back.

Believable14 Unbelievable5

Thomas has pace but seems scared to use it. Every time he gets the ball and should attack full backs he slows down and cuts back onto his right foot. His confidence must be low

In a funny sort of way I'm pleased this happend coz I hope this make Neil think we need more than what's been reported (2 players along with the loans) we need more than that I feel. Thomas played like he was playing his last game for us, didn't want to work, like most have said Austin brought back far to early mcormack not starting why I don't know either, I love warnock and think he can do a job still but some decisions are getting puzzling! New cb, winger cm and a goalscorer that is different to bechio imho

Warnock is the past, the new owners need to look forward we will go no where under Warnock and his oudated style of football

Agree7 Disagree4

27 Dec 2012 00:50:19
was at the forest game. i really am struggling to see how neil warnock has brought leeds utd forward from the days of simon grayson. we are in exactly the same shape we was in 12 months ago, conceding goals like there's no tomorrow. we have no particular style of play we just seem to put in average performances and our biggest problem seems to be not being able to retain posession at key times hence why we concede to many goals. i dont know about a striker mr warnock. ross mccormack sat on the bench who we all know has the ability to score goals lets look at a decent centre midfielder instead of playing an overage no footballing ability of michael brown. bring on january, this team in desperate need of freshening up

Believable12 Unbelievable2

Was there too, first away game for a while, in the forest end, cannot believe how poor we were. If warnock thinks we only need one or two players then he is dillusional! Some of his decisions tactically were so bad and you could see from the very start of the game that this was way too early for Austin to be playing. Simple fact is that we should not now be getting battered every now and then Watford, derby and now forest, we should be getting results in these games.

Agree6 Disagree1

Sadly the new owners think he is the messiah. God help us

Agree4 Disagree2

He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy!

Same old rubbish... Seven minutes of madness cost us the game?! What about the 70 minutes of madness before warnock made any decent tactical changes?
