Who fancies Leeds v Norwich at ER next round? Would be a belter!

Believable3 Unbelievable2

26 Sep 2012 20:06:03
I thought when we got the Leeds v Everton tickets at £20 Bates had suffered a personality transplant. Then spoke to my mate whose a gooner he's going to emirates and it's £15 must be a theme this season for the cup to have reasonable prices at all the grounds. Although it's skint me really glad I got my season ticker this year, just got the feeling this season is going to be a special one. {Ed013's Note - Lets hope the price comes down next year!}

Wonder if the stayaway fans will still stayaway if we get a Chelsea or a Man U in next round or will they forget there little protest just this once. Let us see , I think I know the answer though.

Believable8 Unbelievable8

It doesnt matter who we get at home if i remember rightly we didnt even full the ground for the game last season so what makes you think we will this time around

Agree5 Disagree1

Those who choose not to line bates pockets will still stay away,because we want the chelsea out of our club,bates out,

Agree8 Disagree1

26 Sep 2012 19:20:55
I feel that you are making the asumption that the only people who are staying away from ER are committed Bates haters. Like any club that is not firing on all cylinders you have an amount of fickle supporters who stay away, fair weather fans Etc. Ask yourself this though who are you to take any moral ground against Leeds fans who have supported Leeds throughout the years who may disagree with you?
It is extremely difficult for these fans to stay away. Those that trickle back if Leeds draw another big club in the cup may include some Bates haters who simply cannot bring themselves to miss a big game -I say good luck to them and thank you for your consistant support over the years!
I'm not one of the stay away supporters and will continue to go to matches home and away but I appreciate those who just can't stomach any more of Bates!

Agree11 Disagree1

Thank you for your understanding. Its important to remember that there are indeed many passionate Leeds fans who are quite simply dejected at what Bates is doing to our club. I do now see some light at the end of the takeover tunnel and i am hopeful the tax dodging turd muncher will fook off for ever. I believe it is vital that we stick together as fans, regardless of our choice of protest. When bates goes, im back at ER in a heartbeat, via the club shop for a new shirt to celebrate. Delighted we have had some good results recently.

Best wishes all.

Good post m8, we must agree to disagree as a fanbase, ours is so large that we are bound to get different opinions. i am of the same idea that i will be back in a flash when the chelsea is gone for good,it's killing me to stay away but i and others are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the love of our club,others might not agree but we shouldn't turn on each other,we have the greatest fans in the world,cos we are leeds,mot,

Tactically I'd like to see NW rest Austin for Saturday. That man has seen a lot of action the last month or so. I'd prefer to rest our best asset for a game and if you can't do it against Bristol when can you do it? Wouldn't be so terrible to give Kissa a run out instead of one of the head bandage crew either. Got to use the squad. Just my opinion lads. {Ed013's Note - I think Bristol will be a hard game and Austin is a living machine so I imagine he will play. I wouldn't be surprised if the team last night starts on Sat except Paddy will come back in}

I'd expect Becchio to be rested at some point. Andy Gray should come in.

i dont like or dislike ken bates but he his a funny man at times wot he said about garry cooper in last nights programe was brilliant dont get into a slaging match with him he will put you in your place

Believable5 Unbelievable9

I've got to say, I just read Bates Chairmans notes in the program. He makes me smile, a bit like the old marmite thing. He goes out of his way to insult as many people as possible in three columns, quite an achievement. He manages to attack, Gary Cooper, LUST, LUDO, The Bational newspaper, Phil Hay, the Police and the Yorkshire Post. Also manages to claim "Bates Out" chants don't effect him, me thinks he doth protest to much....still he is entertaining.

Agree8 Disagree3

Surely bates attacking people in his little notes will not sit well with the investers?,he blames the protesters for putting investers off,[b******t],but he attacks everyone,does he not think that if anyone is putting people off it's him?

Agree8 Disagree2

Can't imagine his behaviour surprises them at all - not like he's an unknown quantity

Wouldn't it be good to draw Norwich at home?? {Ed037's Note - It'd be like watching Leeds play 2 seasons ago}

Believable11 Unbelievable1

Would be great just to see our man Austin chew the ass off Bradley (the hardman) Johnson lol and the rest of the lads maul them all ....MOT

Agree8 Disagree0

I agree with the Norwich call, but for purely selfish reasons would like it to be at Carrow Road. I only live 20 mins from there and midweek fixtures at home are almost impossible for me with work commitments, so it would be nice to be able cheer the boys on at the game rather than on the radio or tv. Also should be able to get some good banter with friends and colleagues that are Naarwich.

More FACT than rumour:

A few of the LUFC team were out for celebratory drinks after the Everton game last night. Rudy Austin went to buy a round, put his hand in his pocket...and pulled out Fellaini!

great result last night but was a litle bit miffed making no schanges.. Becchio with his groin injury was a passenger for the second half and should of been replaced he clearly was struggling.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Becchio was a thorn in Evertons side all game. Distin and heitinga both had him breathing down their necks and had to concede free kicks / throw ins as a result of his determination and running. This was priceless as it meant the ball was in Evertons half, therefore less time was spent defending. Should've got brought off with a couple of minutes to go for a standing ovation. Diouf & Austin deserved this aswell

I believe we will start getting new players in on emergency loan from 30th Sept which is exactly 93 days before the January transfer window opens. Not a rumour with any inside info but it does add up from when Warnock suggested "better news in 10 days or so" last week?
Final point so proud of the effort put in by players, the manager and Leeds fans who are still attending matches despite the takeover problems. Absolutely convinced this will all go through soon and better times are now firmly in front of us. When Leeds fans unite there is no better support in any world sport. Leeds and proud of it!

Last season it was hard to pick any outstanding players in the Leeds side, Last night it felt difficult to pick one who wasnt. Big props to the boys and bigger still to Neil. How many of us supporters would have picked that side last night? Brown AND Pugh?! And, really, where was the Aidy White we used to know? All of a sudden, he can beat players, he can score, he can tackle! What the ****! Keep the momentum up LUFC xxxx Dan Archway

Believable15 Unbelievable0

I always thought aidy could do this, was just lack of confidence and grayson always told him to hang back, now with freedom on the wing maybe he can show people why warnock wanted to keep him so much, and hes a top lad to keep around the club

How good was el-hadji diouf last night, i don't know what sky viewers saw of him but for us at ER HE was AMAZING he was every where not one bad touch or control so comfortable on the ball and can win a freekick or corner at will absolute quality get the guy a proper contract he could make him self a legend at Leeds the way he's playing. He had premiere league player written all over him.

Is it just me or is our squad looking a whole lot more competative than we previously thought. I'm not going to get carried away, we do need players that can impact a game but it great see that some of the squad players that I'll admit I thought were poor, have somthing to offer. Warnock has been trying to get White to play right wing since day one, and I think last night a glimps of that vison came to light.
Forget the takeover, its going to happen sooner or later, but for now lets back NW and the team and lets hope this winning mentality continues!

Like most fans I m sure, I wasn t expecting a positive result last night, just as long as we didn t get battered. I think anyone not knowing these two teams would surely have thought the men in white were actually the premiership side. ALL players were immense, White, Austin, Pearce but Diouf was premiership quality and I do admit now I was on the 'I dont want him here' side, and even though I know he could explode any time, I ll take it all back. Also great to see Pugh and Brown etc doing their bit too. Great night, didn t even care I got soaked.

After Wigan's destructive triumph over West Hem let's see what wise words that jealous nauseating a$$ole blogger from the game gone crazy has to say. If he got anything about him he will slaughter his own team and praise ours. Maybe he will support us now.

Believable10 Unbelievable2

That sad, Leeds-obsessed W Ham bloke should be forced off-line. At my age (50 today, btw) I should be able to ignore the prat; but having seen so many majestic Leeds performances since I fell in love in 1969, infantile vitriol in the name of an also-run club is extremely irritating. I think Neil is about to shut him up for good, though. Starting last night. PK (London White)

Brilliant Match brilliant atmosphere. Amazing performaces as always from Diouf (needs signing to an extended contract ASAP), Austin and Pearce. But unsung heroes of the match Tonge and Pugh (especially Pugh), first this seasons match under Warnock and played solid. Needs more of a chance a couple of league games under warnocks system and I think he can be a bigger than part time player in the team. Read the ball well, didnt make a bad pass and was their all night battling and backing up players passing off the loose ball. Was ready to right him off before tonight but believe he deserves a real chance!

I can on twice once last night and once today to ask people to change their minds and turn up to Elland Road forget Bates as he's soon gonna be in the past. So for the ones that didn't come that was a night I'll remember for a long time. the atmosphere from 21,400 fans was immense, in the kop we never stopped singing from beginning to end, I van only feel really sorry you didn't come. And I'd like to thank the fans who did turn up for making tonight a
Fitting tribute to Gary Speed.

Believable19 Unbelievable1

21400 is still very low for leeds we were getting 28000+ in league 1

Agree8 Disagree0

THAT WAS MY POINT. Only 21400 turned up yet we still created an atmosphere that was unforgettable. If you lot that stayed away would have turned up it would have been even better. All you who are 'boycotting' the games, you missed a real night to remember tonight. Im glad im part of the 16,000 loyal leeds fans that were there to see it tonight :)

Warnocks interview on Y radio after the game indicated hes got a few players on his mind who he'll hopefully be able to sign in the not too distant future! What a difference a week makes! Onwards and upwards MOT

Believable10 Unbelievable1

I don't think boycotting had much to do with the lack of fans last night. Three games in a week is a costly expense for most people and with the game being on TV, weather being shocking I guess a few people thought stuff it. I won't knock em, cos we made up for and when I watched it back on TV this morning all I could hear was US!!
