The squad is looking really good but there is just one piece of the puzzle missing, Kyle Bartley. He is a must i feel with the great partnership from last year with Jansson i think now with the money from Taylor we could go get him. Not sure we really need a left back as Denton can cover for Berardi but it would not hurt to find one more but not a major loss if we don't i think. I would be really worried if we sign another Striker due to the interest in Chris Wood and 20m is very tempting but if he gets the goals same as last year we will be top 3 or 4 no doubt in my mind. The squad looks a lot stronger than last season with the u23 signings pushing the senior's all the way.

If assombalonga + £5m is all you get for Chris wood I wouldn't bother.

This Bartley stuff is getting tedious. I don't think there was any chance that he was ever going to come. He's not the messiah

Bartley is not going to happen, too expensive for our taste. Similar players to Bartley are out there at more reasonable price. I have faith that the club will secure one during this transfer window but we may have to suffer Cooper for at least the Bolton game

I'd love to see Bartley back, but the guy is getting on with things at Swansea. Woody for 20 mill. I'd take that now, especially with us looking to play more attacking football. Happy if he stays too. Win win for me.

Agree about Wood. Don't think it would make sense to turn down 20 for him. I know we are thankfully going to play a different style, but I get the feeling he's not going to be as great this season. Also happy if he stays, happy if we get 20 that's reinvested sensibly

If we sold Wood for £20m, who would we replace him with? Hugill from Preston? Because that's the kind of 'quality' that fee would buy these days.

Ok so I've been on this page about 2 years now and I'd say this is the most excited and optimistic I've been about a Leeds side for a long while. I plan on writing something like this every day about 2 different players that we have and going through opinions and I'd like you to all share yours as I know we have some stubborn characters😂 Firstly think it's only right to start from the back? So, greeny and wiedewald. Green first, he's got some good experience at a great level, and while he's still playing we should appreciate that, but similarly, so does tony yeboah. My point here is that the whole time green is a good keeper, he is sometimes a liability and fatigue can get the better of him. For this reason I think it may be ideal to let the lad 10 years younger have a crack at the whip. For a goalkeeper, at 27 felix is young. He can learn a lot from greeny and he's a great team player to learn from. I must say, for the price we paid for him, wiedewald is one of the bargains of the summer for us, him and Anita have got some good experience for their age and can play to a good standard. Anita proved this as recent as 4 months ago, while wiedewald has played top flight football in a good league his whole career. For me the signing shows that he's likely to be our number 1 eventually, but the two will compete this season initially, a bit like darlow and sels for Newcastle last year, it will purely be performance based and it's healthy competition for one another. Neither of the two will be perfect but they'll certainly be one of our stronger positions as a whole. For me, wiedewald would get the pick based on the fact that he's more likely to have a long term future, and that's what the manager and owners are looking at, long term plans. So to start my 11 as there's only 11 days until our first game, wiedewald starts in net. Let me know what you all think, who would you pick out of the TWO I know we have BPF but he's not ready for first team yet imo from watching U23's. Feedback please gents, feel free to disagree

Would be harsh on Green to lose the No 1 after last season but going on pre-season he hasn't looked his best. I think he should start the first game knowing he is fighting for his spot on the field, that said the cutthroat in me says one Wiedwald has looked the more solid so its a toss up. Heart says the Englishman, head says the German.

Start with Wiedwald imo. Build for future now. Green will keep him on his toes. In 5 years time Huffer will be no 1 if he keeps progressing.

Martyn are the fee figures quoted, the cost for the player plus wages for the length of the contract rather than just the transfer fee . The fee plus wages figure appears to be what a lot of clubs use to create a bigger headline . Levy from Spurs has just been quoted as saying clubs spending £200 m more than their income in just one transfer window is unsustainable ? . Based on circa £90m for Pogba you could have bought Leeds, the stadium and invested £35M in players to get promoted creating an asset worth considerably more, even at a conservative £300m, rather than blow all that money on one player on a 5 year contract who could get injured ?

Under FFP Championship clubs can post loses of £39m over a three year period. Considering we are one of the only clubs operating at a net profit with regard to wages against turnover and I'm pretty sure our turnover will be much larger than the majority of clubs in the league.

I doubt we would fall foul of FFP regulations. Gone are the days of living beyond our means and I'm pretty sure revenue will be even greater this year - increased season ticket sales and attendances, more pies!, shirt sales, corporate sponsorships players in sales and wages slightly offset by players out and returned to parent clubs, we'll be reet. DTP, UTW! MM

Remember when cellino started at the club he brought in many second rate players from Italy and an unknown manager. Does anybody think it will be different this time as we are pretty much exactly same we have recruited mainly unknown players from second rate sides across Europe and a manager from a second rate side. Nothing in pre season has given me optimism yet. I am needing some convincing to be honest

Anita (Newcastle) , Wiedwald (Werden Bremen) , Pennington (Everton) , Klich (FC Twente) , Jansson proved himself last year and Alioski was playing in a good Lg if not at a great club. Add to that the youngsters from Pool, Barcelona and Real. Yes we are taking a chance with a couple of signings but its hardly scraping the barrel in the Italian lower leagues.

Mighty I think we all are waiting first off for the end of are transfers, and secondly for are season to start about ten games in and I'm sure we will all debate about players etc . Personally it would be nice to have a good start to a season for a change . From pre -season games etc Gomez looks as if he could step up and get some 1st team time, Al has received glowing reviews and a good number are to still enter to fold in regard to game time. I do get your point but think a good number should fair well in the championship .

Leeds and Burnely have agreed a fee for Charlie Taylor but sadly it is undisclosed so we will never know. I guestimate it will be around £4.5 million.

Will be over £5m Alf, that's what Brom tried to get him for and we turned it down because we thought we could get £7m at tribunal. £5.5m-£6m plus add-ons I would reckon.

New season kick off nearly here, loads of questions spring mind regarding the squad, how good are the recruits and how well the players will gel, will we play possession football etc. How much is Rads actually prepared to invest to get us up and how wealthy actually is he ? He must have a business plan which revolves around adding value to his investment with the best return coming from playing in the Prem. You would think £10m to £20m invested in last years team would get you up ?

Has he spent £8 or £10 million ? Plus extra wages on top ? Think if any weaknesses appear in the squad they will be resolved going forward . Same with any mistakes he may make. The unknowns going into this season are the big question, the following season they will all be resolved .

Rads sold his company for over £1bn PA, plus whatever he earned up to that point, pretty sure the guy is doing Ok, its more what can we get away with due to FFP, fee for Taylor alleviates of itsome but we must be running pretty close.

Has to be more than ten million PA, janson was 3.5 and sako reportedly 2mill then saiz 2_3mill alioski again reported at 3 mill. Just them come to 10_11mill

Jansson £3.5m, Sacko £1.5m, Wiedwald £500k, Klich £1.5m, Anita £0, Pennington Loan, Ekuban £500k, Saiz £3m. that's £10.5m + whatever the undisclosed for Alioski was and we have brought in a handful of youngsters, no fee has been mentioned for them but I'm doubting we got them all for nothing. Guessing at about a £15m total spend so far with TC still wanting 3 more faces in. Basically I'd expect a £20m ish spend in total but we will probably recoup £10m or so from Taylor and a couple of others been moved on.
