Would rather keep mowett and offload Phillips. Who I think is bang average and don't know what the fuss is all about.

Not that keen on either of them. If I was to pick one to stay it would be Phillips as, for whatever reason, Mowatt has lost it. He might get it back at another club.

I hate the Phillips haters, he is young and improving. He has a better range of passing than most of his age. His only trouble is currently he is a confidence player, if his first few touches are top class he has a great game. If they are not his game falls to pieces. This will all get better with experience. I personally see him developing into a Michael Carrick style player except with a bit of bite. He will certainly go further in the game than Mowatt.

Mowatt himself is only 21 and still has plenty of time to develop but he really needs more game time to continue his progress. A loan would be good for all parties imo.

Mowatt is as good as he is going to get i think. Strike rate poor, has about 10 good games a season and is remembered mainly for his goals which are crackers but not consistant. Phillips will only get better, still lacks experience and confidence but is still better than Mowatt at the moment even playing deeper than he likes.

Everyone goes on about Mowatt being played out of position and that's why he is struggling. Maybe but Phillips def has and others and they have played their part. Think a move will benefit him if he gets playing time he will impress in their team. Just don't think he is good enough to get in ours at the moment and don't see a lot of improvement in him. When Phillips has played 100 games then we can draw comparisons.

think both have good and weak points, i can see where the carrick similairties are coming from as he has quality but for me he is not that good, i would say he is more tom huddelstone, good on the ball but not mobile enough and not good enough to be carrick, prirlo type. mowatt is fat frank type and could still improve, is fitness the problem or is this as good as he gets? either way monk seen a lot of both so i trust monk. I think maybe mowatt is good in average team but not good enough for good team so maybe we have out grown him. I am sat on fence with both and can see arguments for keeping and selling both so will trust monk.

If the trashy websites and daily rags are to be believed then I will be sad to see young Mowatt leave. He's one of my favourite current players and has not been given a proper run in the new look Monkey magics team. Played out wide mainly and occasionally coming on as sub in his preferred CM roles. OK he's not been in the best of form over the past couple of seasons but the season when he got young player of the season he was fantastic.

i agree maybe he is just not good enough for current team which says a lot about how far we have come but i am a fan, said before reminds me a lot of frank lampard if he does go good luck to him.

Harsh Wex. For a lad still so young he was always going to have atough season which was last year. Remember young lad called Byram having a difficult season then coming back into form the season after?

This season he's been played out wide so not given a chance to prove his worth, gain confidence and consistency. Agree with BW for a change, he's never going to dislodge Pablo or Roofe. The 3rd round of the FA cup showed what he can do. Scored some screamers in his time also. If he does go then all the best, good luck to him, apart from when you come up against Leeds.

It would be nice for him to still be here at the end of the season if we go up. After all he has been here for fifteen years and is Leeds through and through. It would be a shame for him to miss out on the euphoria of promotion to the premier league if it happens.

If he goes, hopefully there'll be a sign on clause just in case he comes good again and is snapped up by a Premier side who'll pay big money

Best of luck to him but like you say he's not making the team we've stepped up a level and unfortunately he hasn't.

Good 2nd half from us, only slight negative is how isolated wood is most of the game, Pablo seems to drop deeper by the game to pick the ball up, we really could do with a midfielder chipping in with a few goals, thought bridcutt had his best game so far this season, o Kane as expected after a lay off was a bit off the pace in my opinion. sacko back will boost us, even if it's off the bench for last 20 or so, fingers crossed now on the transfer front

Mowatt wasnt that in the 3rd round lucas. I think he likes to be a star in a team but this year and some of last year is only a bit part player, so not as good. He will never be prem worthy so. Time to go.

What a performance. Exactly what we needed to out the Barnsley game to bed. Congratulations to Wood. Now i'd like to see him. push on to 30 goals. Douk is a prime example of what people say about not having to be most skillful or technical as long as your willing to work hard and give 100%. Which to get into our team right now you have to be. I think this is why we haven't signed anybody yet. Players know that they won't walk into this team. We not in the market for starting players we need covering players. We need a striker no one will push wood out at the moment. Who would come to club and want to sit on the bench. If we have a bit of luck with injuries etc, this squad as it is could go all the way. great post and agree, getting players must be hard, as players good enough for starting 11 must be very good so dear or wanted by current club. and do people want to come to sit on bench. look at striker for example, how much would one cost to replace wood and who would come to sit on bench behind him?

i think ujolla for the prem champs might be a decent call but would he join? i like the squad but we would need to be injury free for play offs which is not guarunteed. players like baridi, douk and cloye while decent i don't think would win play offs and if we lose another play off i might have to be sectioned.

Still what a turn around and great improvement under monk, agree lucas monk and the team have such a sprit and unity bit like under wise and early days under o'deary it can go a long way and look at the performances not only playing well but winning when not playing well. loving it

Loved the way Wood and 2 or 3 other players ran to the dug out to celebrate the first goal last night and also how the Douke celebrated with them even though he wasn't on the pitch at the time. Just another example of how good the team spirit is this season, when players are on the bench they still feel part of the team. Love it, keep it up and we could go up.
