Now we all know who should win manager of the year in the championship. But realistically who do we think will win it? my money is houton. the media seem to love Brighton. For me monk, Wagner then staam

I think Wagner would be ahead of Monk to be fair. Not knocking Monk in anyway at all as he's beeen brilliant so far but Huddersfield finished 20th last year and are 3rd at the mo so that puts him just in front of Monk at the mo for me.

26 Feb 2017 21:12:33
Should clarify that Monk would be up there for me. The guy at Barnsley has done well too on a limited budget

I honestly think Wagner should win it then monk, monk been great but what wagner has done is nothing short of amaizng, that said we don't know how things will end up. still a lot of football to play and a lot can change.

At the moment Wagner, Monk Houghton in that order. Things may change if we go up though. But will they give it to Leeds manager, think Houghton will get it.

At a guess it will be probably be whoever wins the league . so, Garry Monk it is then :)

One last point lads. For me Pontus is our player of the year just edging Wood. Reason. Without him we'd be conceding loads of goals and it's no coincidence since he came in defence became a lot better. The man is a magnet to the ball!

26 Feb 2017 19:51:21
Have to agree to a point corky. I think his partnership with barts is a major factor in not conceding. So them 2 stopping goals and wood scoring them has been an impressive season to date. So long may it continue and seeing the good times again. πŸ‘βš½πŸ˜ƒ

Hard to say that. I think. Ayling. Bartley are an improvement
The same could be said about them. Not just pontus making the difference. Bit unfair to single him out! He has passion but ayling would be more talented. Nope. Wood most important to us so prob deserves it. With vierra running as best newcomer.

27 Feb 2017 12:36:14
great to have so many good shouts for player of the year I think ayling, bartley, pontus, vierria, bridcutt, taylor and wood have all been great even green on recent form. so pleasing to have so many who could be in with a shout. for me it is wood we have a few stand out defenders but only one free scoring on fire forward.

Over all Pontus is my favorite player too. His heading is so vital contributing to the team. With Pontus out, the team is much weaker. MVP Pontus Jansson.

Hoping and praying these new couple of wingers will set ER alight towards the business end of season. Because as it is now i wouldn't fancy our chances against Huddersfield in playoffs. Then again we might get lucky and some other team might knock em out! Imo reading and wendies we can handle as they have less pace and power. But Huddersfield a different matter.

i agree but playoffs always a lottery how many playoffs have we entered as best team and out and out favorites to get beaten by luck or simply not turned up. I think huddersfield will be auto with newcastle or brighton dropping out. be interesting to know how many times the best team have won the playoffs across the leagues.

Reading some of the posts on here makes me wonder how we are in the top 6, we seem to have so many "rubbish" players. Different rubbish players following every game, Wood, Green, Doukara, Sacko . the list goes on. C'mon chaps . more positivity please :) MOT (with the T standing for . TOGETHER ! ! !

think this is a little bit harsh, fans will always have heroes and villians don't mean we are not behind the team, me personally i don't think douk or beridi on the left are good enough to win playoffs that don't mean i hope we won't just that is the area i'd like to see improvement in. I personally rate sacko for what he offers but can see what others are saying about his final ball so they would not have him in the team. its all opinions and different views that makes football great and interesting. I also slated green something cronic at start of season but last few games he has been immense. Few have slated wood over past couple of seasons as well. but then I guess that is why some people get certified?

Well said. If we had better less "rubbish players" we might even be mid table.

It is all in the eye of the beholder and I must defend their right to voice their opinions, however wrong they may be. As with my wife when she drives the car. It's amazing how all the rubbish idiots decide to drive just when she is on the road and when I am driving? Well I become just another one of the rubbish idiots. She is entitled to her opinion. Totally wrong, but entitled all the same. Now when I post an opinion, take it as gospel of course.

In defence of Doukara he don't half work his nuts off for the team and can always pop up with a goal. As for Beradi BW you way off the mark mate. If we had 11 players with his total commitment and attitude we'd piss this league. However you are right in that Taylor is a better LB going forward and makes little if any mistakes. Just be glad we have a backup defender who can play both sides of top quality and doesn't moan when not in the side. Proper team player, fact!

agree sacko makes bad decisions, but how many times is he a great outlet and offers a lot. we defend deep and sacko gets us up the other end fast. without any doubt our form dropped when he was injured as we didn't have that pace outlet but he does infuriate me with his mistake.

Douk for me is exactly like morrision works hard puts in shift but don't do anything or score enough. Only douk does love a mistake (hence pen the other day) morrision was defensivley better in the box. funny how some fans take to some and not others.

morrision and douk have very similar scoring ratios, play a similar game yet one was mocked the other is given slack. For the record, both douk and morrision where solid but not great in my book.

Berardi I have gone over, love his attitude love his willingness to play for the team and very good back up and on wrong side. but when playing on this wrong side he is not good enough, just makes too many mistakes due to being out of position.

Berardi has played too many games now for back up due to taylor being out and my worry is taylor is not injured but gone awol and it worries me because Berardi is no where near good enough in playoffs as his mistakes give chances.

hudds scored on one sheff missed them but in the playoffs we will be punished. if we was not in the playoffs i wouldn't even mention Berardi as i don't mind him, but he and douk are our weak links looking forward

That wasn't a bad decision in the 33rd min. To be fair tho I don't know what it was I'm still totally baffled by it! a lot of peeps go on about lack of chances within the team. no wonder

Thought Hernandez had an okay game yesterday but, does anyone (of a certain age) think he reminds them of the great Johnny Giles? His way of running, his holding the cuffs of his shirt, then there is the regular pinging of a 30 yard pass. Also I seem to agree with most other posters.

Sacko is certainly a springheeled dribbler but the end product is a let down. Yesterday I am not sure if he just did not look up or was more intent on scoring himself. Maybe he is aware of all the criticism and wants to score the goal/goals so badly, that will staunch the critics. Either way it's decision making. Not too sure how you coach that. I don't think Garry missed anything yesterday and fully expect a change against Brum.

Personally I thought Hernandez and especially Bridcutt were poor yesterday. I'd take Viera over Brid. They both can give the ball away too often but Viera is a proper beast of a player. For me OKane and Viera is our best partnership.

26 Feb 2017 19:40:24
Might have a point there corky. But as experienced players go. Brid is going to get call over viera every time. Tho I was so frustrated by brid giving ball
Away and over playing yesterday. Okane imo is better footballer than both. So it's a choice off the 2 with okane. To be fair. It's great to be in 4th and criticising players to be better. Lol. So let's go with the monk. And believe in the prem. tho we will need too spend big and a lot of present players won't get s look in. βš½πŸ‘πŸ˜‰

It's a team game and we are a winning team. What's to complain about. When the newbies are ready they will play. Credit to Dook and Sako. We are all now setting higher standards because we're doing well. We could bring back Brown, Norris, Varney. Etc?

i think they will in time, i like sacko and hate douk but I guess we have to accpect monk got it right as we got three points even if it was with a little bit of luck. I am hoping pedraza will be our secret weapon in the playoffs and bit like mickaterian at man utd will need some time to settle before tearing teams apart

OK all so made it over the pond for my first game in years. Poor game but great result. Here's my thoughts. Green and the defence look solid. Ayling is a bargain. 2 DM's are fine. I have 2 concerns though. Communication - a couple of times we gave away corners when we could safely have left the ball. Is that normal for us? Why aren't they talking? Secondly Distribution - we passed around the back with no intent. I'll back to that later. Midfield. Hernandez obviously has class but didn't play great yesterday. Sacko and Doukara worked hard enough with no great output. My concern was the total lack of movement off the ball. Little creation of space so defenders had no outlets. Made us slow and predictable. Wood - awesome. Tied up their backline and won most things but as an isolated forward why did we insist on playing balls to his head for a flick on? As soon as a ball goes towards his head someone should be running on in case. All in all great team spirit and nice to see ER full. Good times are back!

Guys. I think sacko has no football brain. His decision making on playing a ball, And when and not too release a ball is shocking. Douk try's hard but imo is no better than roofe or Dallas to do the job they wer starting today for. All In all with the budget monk has had and the budget the teams around us have had i. e. Wendies, derby, Brighton and Newcastle obviously we are well n truly holding our own and may I say punching above our weight with the big spenders which goes to prove and show every one is fighting for the cause. Brum Fulham n QPR next 3. Fulham Playing well so take 7 from 9. Then we have Brighton who I think are best team In the league. But we are at home. So come on Leeds. Don't want to get ahead off myself. But play offs looking sorted. Few good results our way and others our way and you never know. πŸ‘βš½πŸ˜‰
