I must ask, Do we have a goalkeeping coach? In his day, did he command his box? Why the hell is he not working double sessions to beef up Sylvestris dominance? If not get a coach who was, can and will. As a shot stopper we certainly have one of the best. If you child is good at English and poor at Maths. Give him extra tuition don't just dump him.
Also remember the ball has to get past the defenders before it gets to the goalie.

I don't think he'll ever be that sort of dominant keeper, should have never sold schmeichel.

Lots of players we should never have sold Martyn. And quite a few we should never have signed .

i think he's a bit lost because when he first played lots of italians in team who talked to him now he hasn't got that.

Wood, is not proving to be the answer to the problems identidied when Morison and Sharp were in the team. Statistics don't tell the whole story. Wood is not good in the air either laying off to colleagues or scoring. Yes he has scored more than Morison but take away the penalties and ther's not much difference. Morison led the line better. Remember also the penalty he put into orbit, the misses against Brighton, the miss against Derby and can you remember when we last scored from open play. He almost missed the penalty against Fulham. We haven't had an all round striker since Becchio left. He was a very good championship player. We need someone like him, but not him, as soon as possible. If we do it might shake Wood up a bit as at the moment his transfer fee is well over the top. We also need some the strenghten the mid field with experience and creativity. It was interesting to note when we went down to 10 men we conceded in under 6 minutes. We opponents go down to 10 men we look less likely to score. We haven't the guile to break down opponents who set their stall out to defend. Our centre back pairing is not solid. Dare I say it but we conceded far less goals when Belusci was playing and in the right frame of mind. Goals conceded were more doubled when Cooper replaced Belusci. He had his mad moments but in relative terms he was a class act. Unfortunately he has lost it as far as Leeds are concerned and in my opinion cannot be trusted to put in a proper shift. Therefore we need a replacement for him. Someone with good feet, can manage pace, has better positional sense than Cooper and who can complement Bamba - who is good but has a number of weaknesses especially where pace is concerned. Bad goal keeping led to the corner on Saturday but it was poor defening that led to the goal. Evans has some hard thinking to do.

He scored against fulham n he still scored winner against derby. It's all confidence for strikers which he hasn't got because were not playing well? Look when he was at Leicester he scored goals because he had confidence because they was playing well. He's better than he's shown but not all strikers start banging them in straight away.

Morrison only came good when he knew he was leaving. Nothing like putting yourself in the shop window but shows he wasn't bothered playing for the badge. I'd have kept smith.

I'd definitely have kept Smith, he offers much more than a lot of strikers and is a real handful at this level. Wood will come good though. When the goals start flowing his confidence will too and those sitters will start going in. His goal against Derby was class; the keeper didn't even move. I think that Big bones will get the best out of him now he's not ploughing a lone furrow up top!

We can change coaches every three months but its the players who are under performing. Sylvestri still can't catch a ball. Now either our goalie coach is useless or he is. So one needs to change. Another keeper or Robinson in as coach. CBs not a unit. Bamba needs to stop talking to evening post and concentrate on how he can stop any one with a bit of pace walking past him and put ball in net. Botaka, Dallas and Cook all do their job but rest of midfield are all same, Murphy and Mowatt could be twins. Good to see Phillips getting on pitch as I think he will be the answer eventually but still has a bit to learn. Wood is an average striker who I think was overpriced.
So need keeper/coach, centre back, left back to cover Taylor. Bring Erwin back and play him. Not enough competition for places in key areas. Would also lose Buckley, pointless signing in my opinion, and get a speedy left winger.

well 3 homes and one away coming up so 8 points needs 10 would be great . not top teams so we should get back on track.

Would be more confident if we had players that actually scored from open play and not having to reply on penalties.

Slack defending cost us a win yesterday. I thought we looked second best in the first half as our midfield were outplayed, that said we went close on two occasions. The Bolton goal was disappointing, sloppy goalkeeping and defending and we should do better all round. Second half we picked it up and took the game to Bolton and on another day we would have won. A few tweaks are needed in my opinion, the two front men don't play as a pair and neither troubled the goalkeeper enough, a creative midfielder would help them as they have their back to goal far to much for my liking in open play The fans were fantastic, I was sat with the Bolton Chairman and even he said they where deafening! Whilst Silvestri was at fault in the build up to the Bolton goal he made a couple of excellent saves to keep us in the game, let's get behind him and help his confidence as he's our main keeper at present.

A lot of goalies punch instead of catching but they have centre backs who can deal with crosses, we dont. So he needs to learn to deal with them. He is a talented goalie and rather than lose him would look at the centre backs and buy a no nonsense old fashioned cb. Ours don't scare anyone, Bamba is one paced and does not seem to know where rest of defence is, Cooper is improving but needs to read the game better. Problem is no competition for their places. Big mistake to let Del Fabro go was solid for U21s.

I don't think Silvestri should take all the blame, and yes a lot of goalies do punch, and he is a v good shot stopper. I actually like him
BUT he comes for the ball and misses, or doesn't come when he should, flaps about - and when he does punch he does not punch away from danger.
Totally lack of command of his area and he cannot instil any confidence into the defence. And this has been the case for a year now, and I'm not sure he is getting any better at it.
For me very much like Bellusci (who I also like) - both potentially great, but totally unpredictable and inconsistent, and I always think they are likely to give a goal away.

Agree sppeedy, like both players but unless they can sort out the problems with their game not a lot of use. Defence and goalie need to decide who deals with what, its a bit amateurish at minute.
