How ironic would it be if we get promoted and Burnley get relegated! I wish Charlie well, his time at Leeds overshadowed by his ill advised no show for us at the end of last season, but all in all I do wish him well, bit if you look at The Premiership and the so far amount spent by clubs, Burnley are struggling to recruit and they have lost a few players as well so they are going to struggle as are others of course but how ironic that would be eh! MOT

Its a chance to showcase his talent in the best league in the world for at least a season. If he does well he may be moving on to a big club and getting much more money in the meantime. Can't fault the lad really.

More than 2 good teams in La Liga. Plus I'd rather watch the sides at the bottom of La Liga, than West Brom, Burnley, Stoke etc. At least they play good football!

We all know we have needed a quality CB for a while and have wondered why so many other players have come in quickly and arguably the most important is yet to materialise. I have seen hints that whomever it is will be sorted and announced this week. The Charlie Taylor money has now been agreed. I assumed it was going to be sorted be tribunal at some point in the distant future but clearly this has been an ongoing issue. Part of me thinks they may have been holding off buying the next player until they knew what money was coming in. I assume a decent CB is going to cost a few mil. With the extra £6-7 mil (rumoured) would this make Bartley an option or has the purchase of Elland Road and the new banners made me unrealistically optimistic.

It's not easy to buy a CB unless you spend crazy money, Carlos Caravan at the Wendies said the same thing. Fans don't want players from abroad, but sometimes you have to make do. Flint £6m, Bartley £7.5m these are the kind of prices Championship CBs cost now.

Hi Aus, don't know if you saw my reply below : Aus, I know they are different positions but think I would be looking for players to replace Coops Douks and Ant before Brids, even if he is as poor as you believe, for the central mid role we have Kane, Shaughnessy, Viera Philips Stich and Anita . So unless Brids is really on his game his playing time is going to be limited . You still need a big squad over a full season and Brids has played well for us in the past . If he can return to that level of performance and form he is well worth having in the squad. Monks negative tactics and style of play had a big impact on Bridcutt and as the squad as a whole got tired and their energy levels dropped, they were not able to put in the shift required to play to Monks style . This lead to Brids trying to hold things together and playing the safe option passing back . A player can only perform to the level of the players around him

Totally agree PA Brids was forced into 1.0 defending half the time. I for one am glad to see the back of Monkey magic his football was boring and so was his interviews the group did this the group dod that boring boring boring. With someone like Brids on his game protecting the back whilst others attack not many better. don't forget we prayed for his signature last season.

Disagree pa. reports from those that have seen him pre season suggest he is able to crap without monk. We don't need him. We have plenty of good mid fielders. We don't really need douk or ant and don't need to replace them. As for cooper. I say again. Great he may not be but ge is 100% er and more attack minded than bridcutt.

Bridcutt is a decent DF. But if we are building a team to take us out of this league and keep us in the premiership we need to be looking at better than him. Would be surprised if he got a lot of playing time next season.

Aus, I had arranged with Corky that I would no longer make fun of you but this recent attack on moi alters that. Seriously some of your posts have racked up quite the disagree tally. In fact, one you made a couple months ago earned more disagrees than Wood's goal tally for last season plus his shirt number. Go chase a wallaby or something preferably in a hunting zone dressed as an endangered species.

Just to clarify. I watched about 5-6 of our last 10 games last season and we woeful But bridcutt was by far the worst. The defense would pass ball out to him and he would pass it back, even if they had man on.
