This has nothing to do with anything to do with recent takeover speculation, just wondering if anyone remembers Felipe the Costa( played for us in league 1) was he any good, and why did he leave so soon?

{Ed013's Note - Portuguese? He didn't have the best of starts, did he get sent off}

I don't think Gary Mac rated him. I thought he looked good. skilful and exciting, not many of those at Leeds over recent years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Useless. Looked good on youtube but didn't do it at leeds. Sent off on his full debut, few fleeting sub appearancew afterwards.

An absolute must read, Leeds United the Universe and Everything on Leeds United News Now. Totally spot on article surrounding the way the fans of this great club are being treated with such utter disrespect by whoever actually owns our club. Brilliant article explaining how most of us feel and why.

Really not been impressed by the takeover fiasco, all very reminiscent of the Bates era in that we're repeatedly told something will happen 'soon' which never actually materialises whilst also never being told anything substantial. With regards to transfers, Haigh and the Board said that funds would be made available to McDermott but if that was the case then why hasn't he used them? Two loan signings isn't exactly what I'd call displaying ambition nor do I believe Brian wouldn't spend money if he had it- especially after admitting himself that the squad needs serious improvements. Ultimately I'd just like some clarity on where the takeover situation is at and thus help us all as fans be realistic about our potential signings. If we sell Ross then this really would be a continuation of Bates's style of ownership especially with so little time left to replace him.
I hope everything gets sorted out soon and that we as fans get the clarity, information and investment we deserve #MOT

stewart will become a permanent signing come the summer so that's probably somewhere between 600k and 1.2 mil that has to be put to 1 side

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Stewart has signed on a free}

Once the GFH "Senior Official" blocked the Barnes deal there was no way any further deals were going to happen until take over complete. That was 1st sign of trouble with take over and Sports Capital quite reasonably aren't going to provide t/f funds whilst take over in doubt. As for GFH providing any funds, don't hold your breath!

So yet another transfer window gone with no game changing quality players coming in MOT I wish.

d.h. is history, he is not in a position to complete any fool can work that out, on the plus side lucas and his associates will move in early next week but unfortunately not in time for any transfers in. the new owners are real leeds fans and will invest big style next season, we will get back in the big time in the next 2 years and hold our own in the prem. mark my words.
we did, nt want a manc as chairman anyway as i believe d.h. is. all wind and p**s this 'life long leeds fan from manchester'. pack your bags and go now you can't fool us any longer your time is up, you took a chance and failed. fact

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haigh might have been born in salford but hids family are from Leeds, he moved to Cornwall as a young child so how dose thst make him a manc?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey leave us manchester based Whites alone.
. We're here on a top secret mission to confuse
the natives from Salford . Always stuns them when
they realise Leeds fans have infiltrated Manchester.
Together with our friends at the Ethihad we secretly
recruited " Agent Moyes " ( 008) to attack Manu
from within with the sole intention of relegating
Manchester United.
Congratulations to Agent Moyes for his sterling
work so far. His behaviour is now more Fergie
than Fergie himself. His next target is a £42 million
offer for Michael Brown. Michael has already been fully briefed as to what is expected on him and
just to make sure the right damage is done to Manu, our own undercover Michael has been issued
with sedatives to take to slow down his tackling.
Finally us undercover Manchester Whites are growing
in number but daily we put our lives on the line
to ensure " operation Moyes implode" reaches
it's conclusion.
Don't forget what important work us Manchester
Whites do for the cause.

As proof of the above I have just recently infiltrated yje Grtr Manc area & I am too on a mission of great importance . Spreading the White Bible!

I want D Haigh to step down and bugger off, why are we the fans always left in limbo.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Grayson is a very good manager, I do sometimes wonder what he could do with a decent transfer budget}

Grayson did brilliant 1st season back in the championship although losses against palace and Sheffield united did stop us getting into the play offs. Then following season he started losing key players due to b***s, hardly his fault!

Agree0 Disagree0

Grayson was our best manager since leaving prem. maybe Evan long before then. Our football was great and we scored for fun. Let a few in along the way but with no money how do buy a defence

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes grayson did very well for us but what you after remember is he was a defender himself as a player and you wouldn't of thought it the way we use to let goals in.

Now that Pennant has been released there are two top quality players without clubs! Surely David Bentley and Jermaine Pennant are the kind of quality we are looking for and no money needs to be spent (LUFC's favourite price)!
I know lots of people will disagree with me, but let's think about our signings so far, which will probably be our only ones this window!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pennant and Bentley may have been quality once upon a time but there both passed it now we need young players who are quality Now!

But what would we do with Kebbe and Stewart.

Agree0 Disagree0

Send them both fishing weekends!

Agree0 Disagree0

O.p. here.I agree we need young quality player s, but if you read. My point again, we have no money, no ambitions and clearly no idea.these players are free and available, even if only in until end of the season.they would give us other options

i think mcdermott needs to give it another 5 games to see where we are in the table . if we don't pick up dramatically then its time to start using the young players maybe even dip into the youth system .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we don't get a proven striker, and a likely one is sold I would say mid table at best, notice who scored for Doncaster today.

this waiting game sucks .whats going to come first, takeover or the sale of mccormack.
i thought teams were interested in some of our players like varney and poleon . personally I would keep varney around until end of season, he as good fitness and does put in the effort .
poleon, dawson, maybe even mowatt should be sent on a loan until end of season . dawson to league 1 and the other 2 to lower championship team.
there is also ariyibi that could do with experience as he's not going to play for leeds this season .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are playing badly and you want to send Mowatt, our only creative midfield output to a lower championship team?

Like who exactly, teams that can cause us hassle and over take us whilst we are playing badly.

Who exactly will be play in his midfield slot then, Brown? Tonge?

Sadly we are selling club now, I believe that RM will go . and hell, who can blame him, there is no stability at the club, if rumors are true that the Italian Bates is taking over, I think BM will follow Ross. David Haigh Is tarting to loss credibility, w he told us week before last, god news next week fro all Leeds fans, that has now been and gone, when will they learn . we hang onto every word they say, which most of the time is total rubbish . there is no real ambition on the board, why do we let business men play with our club like this. really, the treat us lie mushrooms . they keep us in the dark and feed us with S***, if GFH sell us out, we have to kick back and vote with feet. DHL

Believable0 Unbelievable0

ALL clubs are selling clubs not just Leeds, if the right offer comes in that's way over the odds players will be sold, as for the Italian Bates you talk about, he's openly stated he's there in an advisory capacity, you haven't got a clue what's happening behind closed doors so why post crap, BM is here for the long haul, so go to your room and protest on your own.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the OP. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to realize there's a massive problem with the TO and it's probably in danger of total collapse within the next 10 days. It's clear there's a problem with the money else why did Haigh approach the criminal Itslian for advice? Sounds like a big problem and he has no one else to turn to when you consult likes of him! Did Haigh care what the fans would think and the FL think when this story broke? Answer. Probably but he's that desperate. The deal hit a snag and it can't be fixed. Ross will be sold for around 5 million and we will buy a poor replacement on the cheap. No promotion and back to the drawing room in the summer for TOMA3. Btw delay has nothing to do with DD. it's to do with lack of finance. Strangely the deal may go through with Sport Capital once Ross is sold as it can be re-financed. This also means rumors of a very wealthy backer are presently false.

Agree0 Disagree0

About the italian bloke, it doesn't hang together right that he is there as an 'advisor' to the others. i do not get this mans apparent expertise in takeovers that dh ns af and co need to consult with him. he owns calgliari a mediocre italian team. he has gone on record as being frustrated by bureaucracy at being unable to develop the club and has make no secret of his desire to invest in english football. just because he says he isn't interested at this stage doesn't mean he is not involved or indeed is not committing any money himself. anyone consider the possibility that he may be lying about being an advisor to the process?!

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2014 11:42:27
an someone please explain why we are being told that the" new investors" have already put up 6 million, and all we have got is 2 loans. Are we running at a massive loss each month?
If 2 loans have cost us that much, including wages etc then how much have the likes of Leicester and qpr spent over recent years when they are paying millions in the first place on fee`s. If the dogs have bought 2 players then are their backers shelling out 10 million overall?
Something is VERY wrong with this club and I`m not sure how much money we are going to need for future success . 100 million could do it.
Ross going (can`t blame him)
no takeover
sick to the back teeth of all this crap.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't know when £6m was put in but can't believe that it has only been used for 2 loans. Some must have been used for day to day running costs. The problem is that the only income available to current owners is from merchandise sales, sponsorship etc. I believe the previous owner committed gate income and presumably season ticket/membership income (or at least a large part of it) to repaying loan/s for building work. This could explain why when a new sponsorship deal occurs something happens like Luke Murphy being brought when deal signed. GFH aren't putting any of their own money in now it appears so that may be where some of the £6m has gone and some has had to be held back to cover running costs until take over goes through. A sorry financial mess probably down to previous owner but GFH should have known this when bought Club and ensured they had necessary funds until loan/s are repaid!

25 Jan 2014 11:21:14
Come on you lot stop moaning and thank your lucky stars we now have an owner who will build a team and not a load of boxes.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2014 10:58:50
The entire group involved in this takeover are a disgrace. On the one hand, GFH have no intention of taking this club any further and are struggling to cover the operating costs however they are stalling the sale, I assume, to extort a bit money by using the January transfer window as leverage. On the other hand is DH's consortium and whilst I do not doubt his desire to acquire the club I find the way he uses social media to pass half truths as distasteful. Pictures with red bull logos present, coffees with millionaires, the involvement of Cellino as an "advisor" and Cellino's son having a tour around Elland Road and Thorpe Arch creates a circus when time would be better spent thrashing out a deal with GFH. It could be argued that it is the fan's fault for reading into these media releases and coming to the wrong conclusion, and in the end, these releases may actually lead to a positive conclusion, however I feel that DH is disrespecting the supporters of this club through misrepresentation and is causing as much delay as GFH to avoid the January transfer window without committing quality funds to the playing staff. This is an important week for DH in regards to TO and transfers. If it passes by without the promised investment in the squad then he has not kept his word. Money talks and BS walks!

Morning everyone.

Well what can I say, it just wouldn't be the same without the ups and downs of LUFC.
Within 24 hours we've gone from being owned by a wealthy, flamboyant, ambitious Italian and being odds on to sign the Brazilian number one. Now we may have the possibility of being taken over by a couple of local business men who don't appear to have as much ambition or money. To compound the cockup looks like we will lose RM.

Oh the life of a Leeds Fan!
Ben - Telford

25 Jan 2014 11:28:31
It's disgraceful GFH and David Haigh or Naroodin have not attempted to engage with the fans to at least calm our nerves and shoot down the ridicule building with each passing day without any comment from the club. Engaging with the fans and making us feel connected with the club once more was one of their main objectives. All I can say is they're behaviour towards us at the moment is on par with Bates.

My understanding about recent TOMA is GFH shares have increased since they announced to their stock exchange they will or have sold 75% stake in our club. If they haven't or don't honour this statement to the bourse they will be subject to serious repercussions from the financial governing body over there which is very very strict. Remember about six months ago GFH made a statement to their stock exchange and there seemed to be some confusion around the statement from GFH then. Their stock exchange were on them like a dog at a bone, so for as much as the current situation is appearing FUBAB I hope some announcement is due very soon or I would expect The stock exchange (Arab bourse) to demand an answer ASAP.

Just trying to reason things through this frustrating wall of silence. Look forward to Other opinions on this.

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

It may be that fear of action from the Bahrain Stock Exchange is the only reason that it hasn't been announced the deal has collapsed. GFH are now under pressure to sell and need to announce a sale to somebody, almost anybody!

Agree0 Disagree0

But surely if what you say is the reason GFH still would need to evidence a sale in share (stock) to Bahrain exchange. If they do not then they risk being hauled over for fraudulently increasing their shares from recent investment due to alleged sale of 75% shares in LUFC.

You would assume?

Agree0 Disagree0

Or GFH are deliberately stalling while the stock of the firm rises until it flatlines, maximizing the profit for their company.
Or they are waiting to announce on Sunday (technically their first working day of the week) that they have sold 75% of Leeds & made x amount of money profit, once again making shares rise again & maximizing their profit.
Either way, the sooner something happens the better.

No doubt he loves the club and the area and he has a business.

not 6 months season finishes end of April - begining of May .
It is a big decision for him to make, his choices are-
1.move now and play a for a prem team for 3 months with better wages but have the chance of getting relegated and another season in championship .
2. stay with leeds until end of season and put in maximum effort scoring as many goals as possible to attract a better prem team while trying to get leeds promoted .but at the same time there's the chance that his performances drop or he gets injured and never gets a shot at prem again.

Agree0 Disagree0

When Boro were interested he was asked about his future, he basically said that the club know how he feels about it and the fans. He did also hint that if the club accepted an offer, he would go.
I am certain that he won't hand in a request like previous players but am equally certain that if we accept a bid he will go.
Let's hope Wham lose interest.

Just referring back to a small discussion I initiated a couple of days ago on the banter page. In the wake of Sunderland's excellent dismissal of 'the other United' in the league cup I responded, half-jokingly that I would find it hard to forgive Stokoe for his behaviour in '73. To the poster who justified Stokoe's gloating on the grounds that he had just beaten the nation's finest I would say I don't have a problem with that. People should remember, however, the jealousy and vitriol towards Don Revie that motivated Stokoe (and other lesser managers). They should also recall that Stokoe was the author of some completely unfounded allegations against Revie regarding the fixing of matches. This is why his particular brand of glee, and lack of grace, in victory has always marred the wonderful achievement of his group of players for me. The result itself was, without doubt, one of the great romances of FA Cup history. It is still my 2nd worst Leeds memory though. After Paris 1975. PK

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said PK, for Leeds fans of a certain age, this is one defeat that's hard to let go along, as you say with' Paris . Its a shame we have to rely on the demise of 'united ' for our enjoyment these days, as enjoyable as that is .
