I believe the squad is alowly coming together. NW is not stupid. He has added experience, pace and tenacity to the team. Not for the finsihing pices to the jigsaw. He said he wants 8 more signings- 4 of which are Austin, Varney, Ashdown and Gray. That leaves 4 spots and here are my suggestions:
1/ RB Either Peltier or Halford
2/ CB Kilgallon or Crainey (if good enough. Personally i would prefer more height and physicality than him)
3/ CM Lewis Mcgugan - good passer and scores goals
4/ ST Craig Mckail Smith/Maynard/King
Team for Wolves:
Kenny
Peltier Pearce Lees Drury
Austin Green
Snodgrass Mcgugan Varney/White

Now, I don't claim to have bumped into any Leeds player while walking the dog and nor do I know anyone working in the Leeds shop who knows all the details of the takeover!
But on the day we have signed 4 players, in normal circumstances, I would have expected Papa Smurf to have been in the morons faces saying not to question the clubs ambitions now that we have made such movements in the transfer market.
The quality of the signings is another question but Smurfs silence suggest to me that we are nearing the end game for him. What does everything think?
Here's hoping for some news soon.

Totally agree.... Under normal circumstances this would be an OPEN GOAL for a party political broadcast on behalf of the Bates party from propaganda HQ otherwise known as Yorkshire Radio..... Funny though..... It must be killing him to keep this quiet.. LOL ... That said, I am sure when it happens we will not stop hearing for the next 10 years on how Bates single handedly saved LUFC from extinction. MOT Gingerstreak.

Has the take over been completed? It just that I don't understand where this cash has come from to buy these players. It can't all be from the sale of Clayton and I seem to remember we struggled to come up with the cash for Joel Ward. So does anyone know where this cash has come from?
Believable1

Well I reckon it may be because 3 of them are free transfers, so as far as cash goes, it's just the fee for Austin, which is pretty much covered by clayton going.

Austin - good signing not so sure about Varney - strike rate not great. Hope I'm proved wrong ! Can't see this takeover happening in this transfer window so no big signings which means NW will have to get the best out of the players he has (which I am sure he is more than capable of doing.)

Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Portsmouth striker Luke Varney on a two-year contract.
The 29-year-old completed a medical at United's training ground on Tuesday before agreeing a contract that sees him become the latest addition to Neil Warnock's squad.
Luke, who has scored 68 goals in 288 career appearances, netted six goals in 28 starts for Pompey last season.
He started his career at Crewe in 2003 and after a £2m move to Charlton he has enjoyed spells with Derby, Sheffield Wednesday, and made 30 Premier League appearances for Blackpool, scoring five goals.
Meanwhile, the club has also agreed a deal to sign Jamaican international Rodolph Austin.
The 27-year-old, who can play in central midfield or at the back, is currently playing in Norway with SK Brann and the United manager is a long-time admirer.
The boss took Austin on trial at QPR last summer, but was unable to conclude a deal to take him to Loftus Road. However, he has renewed his interest once again, and is now hopeful that a deal will be agreed to bring the player to Leeds.

According to the os Leeds have agreed to sign Luke Varney on a two year deal, but it says he past his medical on Tuesday at T.A. which makes him the latest addition to Warnock's squad, it also states further that Leeds have agreed a deal for Rudolph Austin and Warnock hopes he will be a Leeds player sometime this week. these will be the seventh and eight new squad members after Gray and Ashdown completed earlier today.

Andy Gray is a perfectly good signing as a squad player. Will play with heart for the club. Good professional, always fit. Holds up the ball. Gets a reasonable ratio of goals, if not prolific. He wont be on big wages and he wont spit the dummy if he isn't starting. Most importantly he is experienced and he is the right sort of character. I accept that this isn't the sort of signing we need as first 11 quality every week, but as a loyal, dependable squad man, great deal at championship level.

Somma has been out for so long so he won't be sharp, but oh great we have the prolific striker Andy gray, this is a complete joke, this "takerover" and cr*p signings are getting to me, look at the calibre of players rival teams have in this league then look at ours, promotion? my ar*e

Why critisise before the squad building job is finished and the season started - both Gray and ashdown are experienced players , if warnock does manage to bring a few quality starters in ( and he has said he wants about another 8 ) of which these are just 2 , then doom merchants like you will be saying what a good squad we have - or dont you know that every team has to have squad players - stop moaning and see what the tram is like at the start of the season

These person fans that slate gray, they said he is 3rd fittest in the team behind Snoddy and White... So he is fitter than Ross round about the same speed and much more proven at this level and higher? Yet you slate him and say how we will go down if Ross stays. You clearly dont have much a footballing brain, you see players names on the scoresheet a couple of times last season and see someones age and you can already decide exactly how good they are?

Leeds has been a part of my life for over 40 years now, I grew up near Elland Road, my mother used take in lodgers from the from the young team ie Gordon McQueen, Niel Firm etc Revie even came around at Christmas with chocolates and flowers to thanks her. So like a lot of other supporters I've followed them through thick and thin. I've 'lived the dream' and at the time didn't care where the money came from. I've lived the nightmare of two relegations and the brink of liquidation and for years wished some money came from somewhere. I've lived the torture of Ken Bates in one hand 'saving' our club and in the other suffocating it. But I can honestly say I have never experienced this unending torment of due diligence, how fricking long does it take? Is there just one bloke doing it? Do they need some help? I'm sure I could help speed it along if they just asked me. AAAAAAAAAARGGHH!

Yellow Card To Speed Up Austin Move
Yesterday ba.no reported that Leeds want Austin to come to Leeds on Monday, after the Brann-Aalesund match today. But with another match between Monday and the Norwegian August transfer window, Brann were reluctant to agree.
Rodolph Austin begun the match today in unusual fashion, striking from Bradley Johnson distances (with Bradley Johnson results) and diving into tackles recklessly, at one point failing to complete the tackle which allowed an attacking play to build. The former can be put to eagerness to impress his English fans who have taken to watching Brann while they wait for the deal to go through. The latter was because Austin was on the verge of a one match ban, trigged by his next yellow. A ban which would not carry over to English football.
After about half an hour Austin was finally given a yellow for a two-footed lunge from behind. Austin’s yellow will solve the disagreement on timing between Leeds and Brann. Scored from 20 yards too.
