Yep we were poor today, however these are the type of games we usually lose, I don't know why but we always play badly against teams were expected to beat.

Well a poor game performance today (Especially in the 1st half it was dire one of the worst this season. ) against a relegation troubled Bristol. Cookie was very quiet today Bridcutt was below average IMO lost the ball way too much.

Murphy was average and was quiet today but probaly are best midfielder today. (Diogaba probably killed his name there but IMO we don't need him but perhaps of that midfield performance we do. )

Carayol was very quiet today and probably was are worst player. Dallas was quiet and poor in the 1st half in the 2nd half ok. Bellucci ok, best defender today. Cooper quiet today average when called upon. Wooton Clan was quiet but was average. Silvestri didn't have much to do but was average when called upon.

Doukara was quiet and poor the one of only thing's he did that was positive was score. (But to be fair to Doukara he has scored 3 in 4 and he is working hard. I rate Doukara. ) Woody MOTM made a massive impact coming of the bench, he was a bit quiet at times but was ok overall. (To all the people are critics of Woody you can't deny how much we miss him as the lone coward and IMO is our best striker. )

Adyemi and Aunty Lucy were not on long enough or did not do enough to rate. So overall a poor performance but a win is a win and IMO a poor performance and a win do more for you in the short term and long term than a loss and a bad performance.

Onwards now to a tough away trip at Brentford where I will take a draw and then a Fa Cup 4th round game against Bolton which we should win and hopefully starts a good and hopefully long cup run which will hopefully make this season a half decent season at least and hopefully have best season possible which will build for next season. We're all Leeds we're all Leeds aren't we. MOT.

Very poor today. Was watching the mid field. No stand outs. Cook had a poor game Murphy was just about ok but no real creativity. Carylon was awful. Bridcutt was ok but not up to his usual standard. Belusci looked after Cooper and a clean sheet. Wooton was ok but was found out more than once. Doukara is not a centre forward. He held the ball up when it was below head height but anything higher was easy for Bristol. He is much better playing deeper. Wood came on and made a difference up front but goal scorer? . Jury is still out. Although we have lots of midfielders they are not good enough which makes life difficult for the defence and doesn't help the forwards We probably need 'DAVE'.

So its the midfielders who are not good enough? there's me thinking its the crap defense letting us down on numerous occasions.
I tell you what Hess, i'd rather lose Wooton, Belusci and Cooper than Cook, Mowatt and and any other really. We just need a bit of experience in the midfield and a bit more steel. Maybe the new guy can supply this?

murphy good 2nd half when he starts running FORWARDS at bristol defenders who were very immobile. rather than usual sideways nonsense. we were much better when wood came on. He looked strong and helped us close the game out well.
I think in spite of bcfc's position this was a better win than it looks. they did beat boro last week, so do have a good game in them.

Well sat in Elland road I sorely predicted what a dross 1st half was to come.
One sole striker upfront again, this formation is not working and gave a dire Bristol City far too much respect. I'm a fan of SE but why 4231 again, I think it's time we got rid of highly overrated Lewis Cook completely ineffective today and on past couple of occasions. Poor Doukara had whole half of pitch to cover and gave city far too much time to build. 442 far better when it came but still poor on the day. Hope this signing from Brentford pays off, some of our players way too small namely Cook, Bridcutt, Dallas. Murphy by far best player today.
Anyway take 3 points, but very lucky, good attacking forward required if we are to progress.

Cook overrated? He's about 18 isn't he? God give him a break.

He's been playing too far forward, he's a lot more effective in a deeper position! He can't control the game.

Massimo are you watching West Ham v City. That 22 for the hammers looks ok . why not try a cheeky 3.7 million bid.

Not sure I'm too happy being linked with boro players after the likes of Ajose. I would rather have had Washington from them if we must raid that club. Unfortunately he has gone to qpr. Maybe I have too high apirations as would like players like Bamford. I know I know he is too expensive and wants to fight for his place at Chelsea. Think we are a bit slow off the mark with getting players in. Can't believe no defenders being linked.

The Brentford player wasn't linked though was he.

Noel Whelan criticising the new signing even before he has got here. He is very blinkered as he believes we have mid field covered - presumably because they're 'good British players and not Italians'. We haven't. Our Mid Field is not strong or creative enough. I think that if this new lad supports Bridcutt properly it will allow the likes of Cook to express themselves better and take the pressure off the back four. I listen to Whelan a lot travelling home after the match. I often think he hasn't got a lot of football nous. He is bit of a character so presumably that's why he is on the radio and not coaching or managing.

I believe the signing of Diagouraga is evidence of 2 things. 1. SE putting his stamp on the side getting players he wants. 2. A month ago SE said he knows a few Bridcutt type players if he doesn't sign. This obviously one of them!

I think SE thought he might as well take the Brentford guy because it represents an improvement on the first-team. It's also going to permit SE to play 4231 in the future which I believe is his preferred setup. I wouldn't mind watching endless games with clean sheets in our favour as those 2 defensive midfielders put in their shifts. Question is who do you play as the attacking midfielder or withdrawn striker. From sound of SE, that's the next signing he working on. Cook will be tried in that position but don't see him excelling there.

Signing of Diagouraga gives us so many options to change a game. I don't pay attention to what Noel W says. He's a bit of a fool. Let's hope SE secures missing bits of jigsaw next week.

Just a quick question, will the new signing diagouraga be able to make his debut today, as I would personally like to see him play, also what's peoples thoughts on Marcus maddison?

{Ed001's Note - I put a vid up of him in the latest article that is on this page. I know it is highlights, but still thought you lot might want to take a look if you haven't seen it.}

I've seen it I would have him at elland road, we need a pacey striker who can finish.

Here's a random start to a thread, but here goes.

I play in a pool league on a Monday night. We're not the best team, and we're not the worst. We sit around mid-table. The od thing is that we take some really good points of the top few teams, and we throw away points to those bottom placed teams. I can't figure out why, but is must be something 'in the mind'.

I call it the Leeds United Effect.

Take today's game for example. No disrespect to Bristol City, but we're Leeds United, we should destroy them. Yes, yes, no easy games in this league, blah, blah, blah. But I'm right, we really should play them off the park. However, I have a bad feeling about this game. Looking back over the last few years, these 'easy games' are ones where we drop points.

Obviously I'm hoping the boys will prove me wrong and put in 5 or 6, but I got a feeling in my bones that we'll get a point at best!

I'm not sure what's wrong with me, I'm normally a reasonably positive type of person. More alcohol needed I think.

Good luck boys. MOT
