Can't agree Russjon. Bates abuses people who disagree with him. He sounds plausible until you really analyse what he's saying (very little in this case). LUST and Hay have challenged him and his response is to try and bully them. Pity so many people get fooled by his smooth talking and charm. He's vile.
On another subject - I see you couldn't come up with an answer to the Grayson challenge I set you. Still, saved me a few quid in The White Hart.

Look guys... bates came out yestaday n said things were at an advanced stage.. i know bates is vile but would he come out n say this if the latter wasnt true. he put an honest approach in saying everything was speculation and he was rite. LUST need t keeo their noses out and let the people behind the scenes sort it out. LUST would jeopodise any deal with their outrageous opinions. I hate Bates as much as u but he is trying t do the best by the club. whether he stays on or not does it matter aslong as we get the investment and best for the club to get bak t where we belong.. Bates will sell when we reach the premiership im pretty sure of this. He said investment is xoming so lets look forward and get behing NW and the team everyvweek. they need us n do u see NW slating Bates all the time n he was promised the world by him. No wot most don't realise is that fans r meant t be fans and support the manager n the players on the field. Yes I hate bats and the board myself but they don't play the game do they? So takeover or no Takeover we r Leeds and that should never change. Too many people concentrate on off field events rather than supporting their team.. In 21 years of bin a fan I've missed 4 games home n away m bin everywhere with Leeds.. I couldn't care wot happens as long I knows support for the team is always there.. Just for u take ova peeps its gunna happen n it's gunna change ire life.. Take it from me investing millions n millions into the squad don't always work.. I'd rather have players that want the best the club not the best for their bank accounts

So you don't care about the future of the club, whether it's in safe hands, whether we'll be able to challenge for promotion, whether we'll even be allowed into the premier league with all the ground ownership issues?
One good result doesn't exonerate Bates or take away all the serious, deep-rooted problems at the club.
You can support the team but still have serious concerns about politics at the club - those things are not mutually exclusive. They are two entirely separate issues.

First and foremost well done lads I was one of the morons in the kop as mr bates likes to call us. The atmosphere was a lot better than Tuesday night slowly coming back ......especially at the end. But here's the thing with mr bates speech in some places he made some sense but his comments that a minority of mindless persons and trouble coursers that they assured the potential investors were not representative of the rest of the fans......if I were the
Investors my concern would be they are going to be working with a man who openly slags of his customers. These guys are from a banking background where customers and customer service is everything. So mr bates you should look to your own behaviour before yu slag off the people who keep you going.

Fantastic result from the lads today, the best of the season so far! May there be many more to come.
Warnock is more than capable of keeping us in the mix up until Christmas, at which point we will (hopefully) have some funds to pay for some Premier League quality players. I don't want to jump the gun, but f*ck it, bout time us leeds fans started dreaming again! In January I would like to see one or two wingers introduced (such as mad Max Gradel/Drenthe), because Becchio would score bucket loads with supply like that. Then bring in a forward to go alongside Becchio, someone with burning pace like Cameron Jerome. Finally, get a player to play next to Mr Austin. I was thinking Craig Gardener. Doesn't get close to the side at Sunderland and is a boy with genuine quality! That's what I call icing on the cake!
Sorry if this is a bit ambitious, but I'm in a good mood after today!

Great win today vs Forest. Listened to the game on the LUFC website. After the game, I listened to the Chairman's interview. He did very well in explaining why there has been so little to tell the fan base during the takeover talks. Public Companies and Banking Corporations can be subject to speculation and very strict rules on business acquisitions. During the summer we were subjected to nothing more than speculation. I think most of us have figured that out by now. What is worrying is LUST and their attitude almost killed the deal. I think the anti Bates movement has not helped either. Personally I would like a different Chairman but we have who we have. How often do you hear from the Chairman of a banking institution? Ever heard from the Chairman of Barclay's or Lloyds etc? I would like to suggest that we concentrate on backing the players and manager and let things pan out. We have no control over who and when will take over or invest in the club. Great result today. Solid
performance. Thin squad so if back four has to be changed ie if Aidy White has to be drafted in holes start appearing. Encouraged by the
Chairman's comments and as usual
talks sense. I am a regular at Elland
Road and away games(season ticket holder) and listen to the fans and 'Bates out' brigade. Thet do no good whatsover and Bates is
obviously being tactful when he
restricts his description of them to simply 'morons ' or 'illiterate'. I am sure he could think of other descriptions that would be more accurate and less flattering. Their abuse of the Chairman without any evidence or insight is disgraceful. Other than Bates I didn't see other investors flocking to bail the club out. Before the moronic responses come flocking in I am just a supporter OF THE TEAM and have no connection with Ken Bates whatsoever.LUST would be a joke if they were not damaging the club.

In the meantime, every single LUFC fan needs to get behind the team, no matter who is playing, 100%. We can't effect what's happening off the pitch, but we damn sure can effect what happens on it! Our support is legendary and it needs to stay that way. 12th man! - JamesC

Leeds United chairman Ken Bates has confirmed that negotiations surrounding potential investment in the club are at an "advanced stage."
Speaking publicly about the ongoing investment talks surrounding the club the Leeds chairman confirmed that both parties are working towards concluding the deal "as soon as possible."
"We're well advanced with discussions," said the United chairman, speaking exclusively to LUTV ahead of Saturday's Elland Road meeting with Nottingham Forest.
"There's a number of finer points to be resolved, but we're making good progress.
"We had four of the top people over here for a big meeting on Friday and they are at our game on Saturday.
"The potential investors are looking to conclude things as soon as possible. Both parties regret missing the August transfer deadline, but we are planning for the January transfer window."
In the absence of any firm statements regarding updates on the situation speculation has abounded, but the United chairman said: "The confidentiality agreements that were put in place are very important to the investors.
"They are a banking institution and a Public Company and not only can speculation affect their share price, they are also governed by heavy banking regulations. They also have interests across the Gulf, Asia, and Africa.
"They are using London lawyers and there has been some logistical issues, but we have discussed things at length and agreed that we can make certain things public.
"Since we signed the agreement in June - and told people what we had done - there has been a lot of speculation and agitation, especially by the Leeds United Supporters Trust, and I have to tell people that a lot of the statements that have come out are inaccurate."

You won't get a joint statement because of the confidentiality. As soon as an official statement comes out from the investors, it can and probably will affect share prices.

Share prices go up and down weekly depending on lots of things e.g state of the Euro, the weather, media politiking, someone caught with their pants down etc. The main thing with shares is their long term return, 5-10yrs plus. Given this, why the hell would a 'banking institution' care less about details being released now, later or before the transfer window closed? Usual BS from Bates who think Leeds fans are brain dead people and he can spin a yarn to fob them off. And isn't the inference here from the bearded buffoon that if info was disclosed this would damage the share price?! What is he really trying to say?

"There are a lot of ups and downs but I've got the club's best interests at heart and I'm trying my hardest. I'll continue to do that until it becomes a situation where I can't."
Its the second sentence for me, sounds like he is beginning to understand how impossible it is to work with, and trust Bates. Given that he is more in the know than any of us about the takeover saga. This statement doesnt sound like there is a definite solution in the near future. We have a fantastic manager in NW and this opportunity is being completely wasted by Master Bates. He prevarication over this is in-excusable. Indicating what everybody in football and beyond already understand about Bates, that he is a crook and a compulsive liar. I like the line he came out with in his most recent lie stating that " everybody expects things to happen now..its not like that in football" Certainly not where he is concerned.

Also Bates has effectively been charging rent for the use of ER and TA. Please also consider the 'tight ship' he ran at chelsea b4 Roman came to the rescue. They were heading the same way we ultimately did were it not for his billions. Not only is Bates a crook and liar, he's not that good at business.
