im just a true leeds fan who supports his team so on that note welldone lads today great result dnt care bout lust or what mr bates is doing or take over what will be will be but one things sure i will always support MY TEAM MOT !!!!!!!! nickybee

So you don't care about the future of the club, whether it's in safe hands, whether we'll be able to challenge for promotion, whether we'll even be allowed into the premier league with all the ground ownership issues?

One good result doesn't exonerate Bates or take away all the serious, deep-rooted problems at the club.

You can support the team but still have serious concerns about politics at the club - those things are not mutually exclusive. They are two entirely separate issues.

After reading ken bates statement all is looking promising think he had to make a statement forced by the new buyers I bet to appease the fans. But why still say investment?

Then I read something about an American putting an offer in for majority shares keeping bares as a small role? Anyone any ideas? Saw on scratching shed

The American is supposed to be worth around 250M

$250 m is not enough to make us srios contenders in premier league. Prefer arab bid.

First and foremost well done lads I was one of the morons in the kop as mr bates likes to call us. The atmosphere was a lot better than Tuesday night slowly coming back ......especially at the end. But here's the thing with mr bates speech in some places he made some sense but his comments that a minority of mindless persons and trouble coursers that they assured the potential investors were not representative of the rest of the fans......if I were the
Investors my concern would be they are going to be working with a man who openly slags of his customers. These guys are from a banking background where customers and customer service is everything. So mr bates you should look to your own behaviour before yu slag off the people who keep you going.

Customer service from bankers? You are joking right? We all sant a new owner but how can you think bankers worry about there customers more than Bates cares about Leeds suporters, you need to rethink that statement.

Great win today vs Forest. Listened to the game on the LUFC website. After the game, I listened to the Chairman's interview. He did very well in explaining why there has been so little to tell the fan base during the takeover talks. Public Companies and Banking Corporations can be subject to speculation and very strict rules on business acquisitions. During the summer we were subjected to nothing more than speculation. I think most of us have figured that out by now. What is worrying is LUST and their attitude almost killed the deal. I think the anti Bates movement has not helped either. Personally I would like a different Chairman but we have who we have. How often do you hear from the Chairman of a banking institution? Ever heard from the Chairman of Barclay's or Lloyds etc? I would like to suggest that we concentrate on backing the players and manager and let things pan out. We have no control over who and when will take over or invest in the club. Check out the investment update on the OS everyone! Sounds relatively positive to me without getting too excited.
It states 'investment' and not 'takeover' but talks are at an advanced stage and they're planning for the January transfer window.
I badly hope this is concluded sooner rather than later (longest takeover/investment talks ever lol).

In the meantime, every single LUFC fan needs to get behind the team, no matter who is playing, 100%. We can't effect what's happening off the pitch, but we damn sure can effect what happens on it! Our support is legendary and it needs to stay that way. 12th man! - JamesC

I would like to see a mutual statement from both Bates AND the consortium. Cant believe a word that comes out of his mouth.

You won't get a joint statement because of the confidentiality. As soon as an official statement comes out from the investors, it can and probably will affect share prices.

Patience, it's coming. I see nothing in this statement that suggests any "lies". No reason whatsoever to disbelieve Bates in this statement. In fact quite the opposite, seems to me he's trying to keep us updated with what's going on.

Share prices go up and down weekly depending on lots of things e.g state of the Euro, the weather, media politiking, someone caught with their pants down etc. The main thing with shares is their long term return, 5-10yrs plus. Given this, why the hell would a 'banking institution' care less about details being released now, later or before the transfer window closed? Usual BS from Bates who think Leeds fans are brain dead people and he can spin a yarn to fob them off. And isn't the inference here from the bearded buffoon that if info was disclosed this would damage the share price?! What is he really trying to say?

Warnock says that he wont quit unless the job becomes impossible. That is not what you want to hear. No manager should quit a team half way through the season, no matter what the situation! I have a lot of respect for Warnock, but comments like this don't fill me with confidence. MOT

Anybody else think this sounds ominous from NW;

Its the second sentence for me, sounds like he is beginning to understand how impossible it is to work with, and trust Bates. Given that he is more in the know than any of us about the takeover saga. This statement doesnt sound like there is a definite solution in the near future. We have a fantastic manager in NW and this opportunity is being completely wasted by Master Bates. He prevarication over this is in-excusable. Indicating what everybody in football and beyond already understand about Bates, that he is a crook and a compulsive liar. I like the line he came out with in his most recent lie stating that " everybody expects things to happen now..its not like that in football" Certainly not where he is concerned.

come on people whats wrong with all your brains ,a 2nd buyer comes in with an offer . bates wants say 50mil new buyer willing to pay 50 mil if bates leaves the club fully .bates wants to stay on at leeds united so new bidder has basically said ill give him(50%) 25mil and he can stay on in a background roll at the club getting a wage each month until he leaves at which stage bates would receive the other (50%)25mil .

We do not know how tight a ship KB is running. Consider this, the fact is that we have only managed to turn in a profit by selling all our best players over the last few years. Also Bates has effectively been charging rent for the use of ER and TA. Please also consider the 'tight ship' he ran at chelsea b4 Roman came to the rescue. They were heading the same way we ultimately did were it not for his billions. Not only is Bates a crook and liar, he's not that good at business. Lets not delude ourselves, we going one of two places if Bates remains in any form, either nowhere or administration.
