Love Sam and hope he stays, but I think he will go, and all the paper talk is just upping his price. Don't blame him and wish him well if he does go. If he stays however, then that says lots about MC 's intentions - because Sam would already have been out of the door for peanuts if the bearded ogre was still pulling the strings

He needs another year (at least) on his contract urgently if he is willing to stay and essentially it will be up to MC if he decides to sell, not Byram.
Byram is doing just what any decent player would in this situation. Plan for the future and pledge your aledgance. The situation is very Kanesque, the only difference being the contract length.
