ive been a leeds fan for as long as i can remember and it saddens me to see people jumping on SG and bates back so quickly, ive read other comments and i dont see how selling kasper is a bad thing, no doubt hes a great keeper and will be even better but i feel he makes silly mistakes most recent was watford at home when they scored late on, we got him for free and sold him for 1 mill, i think its a good bit of business, we can replace him easily leeds are still a big club and we attract good players such as kasper so theres nothing stopping us signing a quality replacement, id like to think that the money from kasper will go to a quality centre half and left back, and the smithy rumors are still flying about i was a massive smithy fan but after everything im not too excited about him coming even though i think hes a top player, bowyer on the other hand is still going strong and id love to see him back, also torsten frings is another rumor, i for one would love to see him at ER! great cm with bahs of expirience is exactly what we need, plus it could help with howsons development as a cm, theres a nicky montgomery rumor ive seen alot about a possible swap with billy paynter, ive not seen much of montgomery so im not in a position to judge but on the other hand i was never overly impressed with paynter i think a team like us needs better players, somma and mccormack in my opinion are much better so it couldnt hurt to swap, i really wanna see abit of aidy white this year im a huge fan and id love to see him get in the squad and get some championship expirience, looking forward to another brilliant season MOT!

Absutey agree, Grayson has done well, how can you not like the bloke and what he has done so far as a manager especially at a club where expectations are high. Let's not forget that as well, we have had plenty of managers where a lot was expected and they couldn't fit the bill.
1. Hes a Leeds lad and ex player so he's got the passion,
2. he took Blackpool from obscurity of lg2 and Leeds from the relative obscurity of lg1 and both on limited budgets.
3. He gets 7th in Leeds first season back in the championship when that points tally in some previous years would have made play offs. Many leeds fans would admit that surpassed expectation especially when derby gave us the shock of our recent lives in the first half hour of he season on tely when they trounced us and we thought WTF this is gonna be a long season
I could go on.

It winds me up how easily pleased some Leeds fans obviously are, how can people be so passionate about Grayson and the job he's done.
1. Got tactics wrong against preston at home, we were 4-1 up and they started to get well on top just before half time and he did nothing about it. Should have seen the game out and subbed Neil Collins bcos he had a stinker!
2. Badly wrong at Swansea.
3. Poor subs made in second half against Ipswich at ER, we would have won that if he showed more ambition with subs.
4. Signing Neil Collins (s**te in L1, worse in Champ) went to sheff u and made sure they went down (good lad).
5. Did nothing to sort our defence out all season (70 goals conceded, joke!).
6. Showed relegation form in the second half of the previous 2 seasons.
7. Still no defensive CM.
8. Should have given bradders a new contract at the start of the season and he would have signed it immediately.
9. Same excuses and never any action.
10. Poor tactics all season, trying to score more than the other team with a sh*t def and 1 man up front, yeh good plan larry! That was never going to last and we got found out.
So no, in Grayson WE DON'T TRUST! And that saying makes me cringe every time I read it so get a grip!

Connelly was solid last year until unfortunately he got injured, up until then he was one of our top performers!
They must no what they are doing guys, Last year when were promoted from League 1, we never invested heavily, but relied on Grayson getting the best out of what he had, he obviously saw potential. Gradel/Howson/Becchio/Somma have all improved massively in the last 12months!!
Keep the faith, Bates wouldnt let the team slip, end of the day he will need to sell up soon, the better the team , the more money he will get!!!

Kasper Schmeichel is no doubt a good goalkeeper, and his best days are yet to come; however you cant escape the fact that we conceeded the largest number of goals, seconded only by teams at the bottom of last seasons league. As a manager you have to do something about that, and you have to ask yourself the question on whether or not you want to base an entire defence on a good keeper (which takes more time than you'd initially think) or build a new one from scratch in good time for the new season. As for Alan Smith... Don't forget that Leeds engineered the move for his transfer to Manchester Utd, as they were the only club willing to pay the upfront price, and as a footballer you have to think of your career too. "ScumScumScum", that's not what its about; we want players that want to play for this team. If Alan wants to come back to Leeds we all know he'll have to take a paycut and then some, which for a Premiership Footballer is a big deal, plus he'll want to at least try to put old regrets from his past to rites.
It's Leeds UNITED for a reason. Players and Fans, In's or Out's, we'll play and shout for Leeds regardless and love every second.

Rachubka to be 3rd choice GK? Behind a young up and coming 2nd choice GK, possibly Smithies or Forster of NUFC? No 1, Ben Foster, Carson or even Given/Robinson on season long loan perhaps? Who knows but one thing I am sure about, SG will recruit the right players to improve the squad. I agree his dealings in the transfer market have not been the best and for sure it wlil be something he wants to improve on as a young manager. We certainly need a good blend of youth and experience, something we lacked last season in some games, and I'm sure SG will deliver despite Papa Smurfs unwillingness to open his mothballed wallett. it dont matter who is in goal next season if the defense gels! we have big paddy back and need full backs but thats about it, smith will 100% sign, newcastle are halving his wages with the 1.5 mil pay off working out 30 k p/w leeds bring in 2 dodgy freebie keepers and maybe 1 good one on loan, money for kasper 1.5mil-ish goes on rest of smiths wages, agents fees, signin on etc etc etc, if we have a solid def and mid we could afford a worse keeper than kasper in my mind as its not always keepers fault, good old grayson will get some quality in even if we sell 1 player for the wages

Although I have never rated Paul Rachubka being third choice keeper at Blackpool would be great preparation for playing behind our current back four. Higgs was better than him so really hope Sky Sports have got it wrong but doubt it. Grayson has only made two good signings since he took over ( Schmeicel and Gradel ) but can't be easy when the criteria he is given is that they must be free or loan and prepared to take lower wages than our rivals pay

The keeper, released by the Seasiders at the end of the season, could join Pool's Championship rivals in the next week, linking up again with Simon Grayson. it does say on sunderland echo that sunderland have signed westwood to be unveiled end of month, then again in the cov telegraph it said marlon king signed new contract, nothing is concrete until they put on the jersey, look at gareth barry, paraded in a scouse shirt to have a last min change of heart, not saying westwood is only that rumours are rumours, lets wait and see who we sign and how they perform before judging, dont matter if we got rachubka as no1 or robbo or anyone, if they do a better job than kasper then its the right choice, if us fans care so very much about how bad we are gonna do then get back on champ man!

After initially hearing about us accepting a ridiculous offer for our no 1 i was gutted and did question bates and graysons decisions but after a few days thought and reading a few of the supposed transfer targets it doesn't seem so bad. Kasper did have a pretty mixed season to be fair he produced some absolute world class saves and got us some valuable points but then he did let in some terrible strikes that cost us points too. Personally i think if we kept him and got our back four sorted out we would be the team to beat this year but i reckon grayson knows what he's doing and will sacrafice him to fund our wages for some other free signings. Maybe smith, bowyer etc. Interesting and exciting times to be fair for any huge leeds fan like myself so lets put our faith behind grayson and see what he can pull outta the bag. Cant imagine seeing shay given though like some have posted but would love it if it came true.
Any real truth in neil danns? Fantastic underated player in my opinion and rob earnshaw would do us a job too!

Bromby wasn't signed by Grayson, although he's good cover in my opinion.
Connolly is solid and was easily our most consistent defender last season.
Anyway, how long do you think it takes to form a decent centre back partnership? Its not over night I'm afraid.

Schmeichel started becoming a weak link in the latter games of the season. I would prefer not to see rachubka at leeds he hasnt got a great record. Sky sports said he is being targeted as the back up keeper to a really good first choice. Hopefully westwood or given. If given comes we are serious about promotion. MOT
