Hot news just in

Leeds are one of the two other clubs who have bid for charles inzogbia. They are said to have offered Ken Bates Monaco Yacht as a make weight in the deal. Dave whelan was said to be very interested until Ken told him that the Yacht was more expensive to run than leeds utd football club

How many of the 100 + names on Rumour have signed. Did any1 actually predict Brown and Chewbaka joining? If I see a name on there now I know they deffo WON'T b coming to our holy ground.
On a different note, can any1 whose seen Tom Lees play give us their verdict. Is he the magic ingredient our defence is missing? Potential Woody maybe?

FACT, Leeds will get nobody, its as simple as that {Ed032's Note - crawl back in your hole

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Get back in your hole ed {Ed032's Note - i actually am going to soon

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont think you mean nobody. I think you mean they will not not pay a transfer fee for anybody, that i agree with. But we will get the reject free transfers that nobody else wanted

Agree0 Disagree0

All the dregs and useless players are the only one's coming sadly, the club is a laughing stock - the Don must be turning in his grave.

I'm gonna get slated for this but my advise to any potential signing is stay away cos one bad game your f----d the so called fans on this site will be on your back slating you taking the p--s not saying every fan is like that because there are world class Leeds fansout there but the ones I'm talkin about you know who you are.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

What you on bout you douch. Who is slating who?

Agree0 Disagree0

That's what certain fans have always done remember gregan, derry and now paynter and most have gone on to prove you wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree they are a % of leeds fans that still think were a top 4 premiership team who should have top players. Bout time they get over them years and accept who we are now and get behind are lads. And all those who slag Billy paynter off yeah he ain't scored alot goals bout 1 but he needs the time and chance when fully fit to see if he is good anuth for championship or not when him and mac played last 2 games they was awsome

Agree0 Disagree0

That is what I mean there is still some world class Leeds fans out there well said m8

Awesome? not really cormack was good, paynter was alright far from awesome. Harry MOT

I am very disillusioned about Leeds United's summer preparations. We were told that the fee for Kasper Schmeichel would go into Simon Grayson's transfer kitty (what kitty?) That can't have been the truth because Lonnergan and all the other keepers we've been linked with have been deterred by the low pay they've been offered.
Since the end of last season the following players have left the club: George McCartney, David Gonzalez, Eric Lichaj, Barry Bannan, Jake Livermore, Sanchez Watt, Richard Naylor, Shane Higgs, Bradley Johnson and Neil Kilkenny. Fede Bessone and Mike Grella were told to look for new clubs (though Grayson seems to have changed his tune on Bessone - which shows what a dreadful state we're in) To replenish the squad, Grayson has lured a 34-year-old and a spare keeper to the club. It's no good saying "wait" - the other Champuionship clubs are not waiting and the best players have been snapped up. Tomorrow we will include Isiah Osbourne, who was so bad Sheffield Wednesday sent him back early from his loan period. He and JLoyd Samuel have been free agents for weeks, but nobody's been interested in signing them.
The strategy at Leeds United at the moment is to stay solvent and to tread water. It is inconceivable that Bates is planning to have a real go at promotion to the premiership with the lack of investment he's responsible for.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Bates out bates out. I know he wants to make the club profitable but we need actualy compete with other clubs when it comes to wages etc we cant possibly challenge for the premiership this season. I would however give clayton and aidy white a go this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nearly every player listed were loan players you clearly have know clue do you, and out of contract or old, daft message. Harry MOT

Grayson stated along time ago, he got rid of Kasper because he wasnt good enough, and that he was after better players, than we sold or had in
Looking forward to these better players

Bates also said 4 players were coming in, i expect 5 due to injury problems with our main strikers

Have to admit Ed, you were far too kind and accommodating to his slating of our glorious club

Leeds aren't we.... {Ed032's Note - i try not to be abusive to fans of other clubs - we all love football

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ipswich have plenty of money to spend after selling Connor Wickham and unbelievably their chairman has this foolish idea of ploughing the money back in to sign players and strenghen the team. Why on earth didn't they spend it on a Hotel {Ed032's Note - or new executive boxes

I hope billy paynter is not a regular on this site why?, all the idiots who want to knock the man why he's down, well I'm not one in my eyes we have someone who I think is one of the best natural born finishers in the championship.cast your mind back a couple of years ago when he ripped our defence and every other defence in the league to shreds one person said he ripped ours to bits because we had a dodge defence wrong if you look back you will find we had one of the best and every other team had a dodgy defence aswell no, that must make beckford s--t to cos paynter scored more goals, the man is down on his luck and lacking in confidence we need to get behind him not take the p--s out of him, let me tell you I will be first in the que to wish him good luck and my support, the man will come good just get behind him please and stop the jokes {Ed032's Note - billys now got tonsillitis

Believable0 Unbelievable4

When we signed Billy the Robins fans said it was no great loss as he had only had one good season. We signed the wrong Austin destroyed us and Billy picked up the pieces

Agree0 Disagree0

We're trying to get behind tubby and push him out the door. he is worse than de mange {Ed032's Note - poor ken

Agree0 Disagree0

I rest my case but I bet if he scores a hat trick first game you'll be there shouting his name go on billy prove them wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

Thick t**t those Robinson fans could it not have been sour grapes

Agree0 Disagree0

If he's one of the most natural finishers in the championship how come he's only scored 4 goals in 53 championship games?...the rest of the strikers in the championship must really be useless

every time BP has stepped up to this level (this is his 3rd stint) he has flopped, the guy is a league 1 player and an average one at that. I know people will bring up 29 goals the season before last but it was a one off. Most seasons, even in league 1, he has failed to reach double figures

Ramon Nunez only has a year left on his contract with Leeds but thinks its a great club with a great tradition and would like to sign a long term deal(but as usual we will prob only offer him a 1year ext and when he takes the league by storm this year we will have another gradel situation next year). Sign him up long term bates a blindman can see he has a big future Click agree if you would like to see him offered a long term contract disagree for one year ext {Ed032's Note - i totally agree but i think they see how he does first

Believable16 Unbelievable0

I agree totally, we could have avioded any risk of Max leaving (or at the very least made sure we got his full value if he left) by offering him a new contract before the january transfer window.

******BREAKING NEWS******

A faction of so-called Leeds United supporters have confirmed to News that they have indeed founded a rival club. The club, known as Moaners Unlimited, are attempting to give a voice to the current dissatisfaction with Leeds United's reluctance to pay over the odds for never-has-been, overpaid, injury prone former players. The group is also unhappy with both of Leeds United's new kits, they feel Simon Grayson is now too bald to be the manager of the club, and also they are known to have a major gripe about the standard of the toilet paper at Elland Road on matchdays. The generally miserable demeanour of the Moaners has been attributed to "rectal problems" thought to have been created by said toilet paper. Reports that they are planning to sue chairman Ken Bates for the poor summer this year in Yorkshire remain unconfirmed.

Moaners Unlimited will wear a red strip because they may as well be scum fans. The strip will include the revolutionary new idea of a noose attached to the collar for when things just seem too much to bear. The club are delighted to announce a six year sponsorship deal with "Doom and Gloom Incorporated". The club's chairman, Peter Ridsdale, spoke of his pride in his newest venture and of his determination to spend money he doesn't have. Manager Kevin Blackwell would only say, "Hopefully I will be able to remind the Moaners' fans just what a crap manager really is." {Ed032's Note - hahahaha

Believable9 Unbelievable6

Brilliant :) made me chuckle MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

We could have toilet paper with a picture of Ken Bates on it.Would that make some of the moaners feel better. {Ed032's Note - fergie loo roll would be a good seller

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who is dissatisfied with the lack of transfers is automatically a moaner and not a real fan? Get over yourself- people are justifiably frustrated- doesn't mean they're not fans. They're frustrated because they care. {Ed032's Note - the window is open till the end of august. freebies will start panicing that they haven't got a club and lower their demands and the prem sides will have named their 25 man squads

Agree0 Disagree0

I enjoyed this, and to the bloke above... Get a sense of humour man, you'll be asked to captain the aforementioned side if you carry on

hope we don't give a contract to Jlloyd Samuel. he's like Wes Brown, nobody realises he's crap and no longer a young prospect. {Ed032's Note - my gran can defend better than wes brown and shes dead

Believable0 Unbelievable3

I agree, he is s**t. If any of the players were half decent then other teams would bf sniffing around. Apart from the secret "trialist" the other two are s**te.

Ed032 - you're definitely the best one yet

Even if Samuel is s**te, he's still better than Parker.

Mind you your gran lacked his pace {Ed032's Note - she had an electric wheelchair

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree, at least Ben is a local lad who would give his all for Leeds if he could put injuries behind him.

Agree0 Disagree0

This 'local lad' nonsense really bugs me, yes Parker is a local lad, but he is not and never has been, good enough. I would much rather have a team full of talented players than a bunch of 'local lads' who give their all but can't play football

Does anyone wonder about the financial situation at Leeds? Sure we have made a profit the last couple of seasons but only due to player sales. If you think of the players who have left since last season (Kasper, Higgs, Johnson, Killa, Naylor, Watt, McCartney, Lichaj and a few other short term loans) I calculate a saving of around £50,000pw in wages on that lot. If you take off that total the new players for this season (Brown, Rachubka, paddy's new deal and loan players back at club) I calculate that around £20000-25000 pw in wages. So where is the other 25000 a week now? And where is the 1million + we got for Kasper? Worrying times. {Ed032's Note - offshore?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Follow the money {Ed032's Note - k.b retirement fund

Agree0 Disagree0

And the money from Delph and the youngsters we have sold {Ed032's Note - more executive boxes cost money

We haven't (or rather KB Hasn't) got most of the Delph money yet as it was based on appearances...not that I expect it to be spent on players when we get it

If having no proven (recently) isn't a crisis I dont know what is. Gradel does score but does not lead the line and it is uncertain whether he is staying. McCormack is not bad but a lot to prove. Paynter more of a hindrance. Who else - Kandol ?? better than Paynter wherever he is. {Ed032's Note - yes whatever happened to tresor

Believable2 Unbelievable2

22 Jul 2011 16:24:16

SG say about the gradel situation that, the only people that matter are the chairman[BATES] myself[GRAYSON] and the player[MAX GRADEL], what about us the fans, whats worrying is that if you read his[GRAYSON] quote it doesn't say that max is not for sale, cos sg says that if a ridiculous offer comes in that benefits the club then they would look at it, to me that doesn't sound like a club trying to keep hold of one of our better players, only looking to up the bids, hope im wrong

Take your time, have another read, and try again.

Just witnessed a terrible incident as Billy Paynter was leaving Thorpe Arch. A rouge OAP with a zimmer frame gave Billy a clip round the ear and then made off with his wallet. Much as Billy tried, the OAP got off scott free as Billy couldn't match him for pace so couldn't catch him. Poor Billy.

What is wrong with all these people who are so desperate to splash the cash, would you go on a shopping spree if money was tight, no you would pay the bills and as ken bates says cut your cloth accordingly, by doin this bates is planning for the future and I think the future looks bright.success is not something you can buy its done by laying the foundations and building on it slowly, you have to have the right management in place and all pulling together and believe me if we all pull together and get behind what bates and Simon are doin nobody would be able to stop the runaway train called Leeds utd, then and only then can we go and splash the cash so can I be the first to wish the whole team that includes bates the very best for the comin season MOT. {Ed032's Note - well said

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Your argument is seriously flawed, you CAN buy success, ask Chelsea and Man City fans where they were before being backed by untold millions, the game has changed dramatically since the glory years, it would take a manager the stature of the Don to revive Leeds to where we belong, it is not a level playing field anymore, the top clubs get stronger with the money available to them, so the change needed to return us to a top four club again would need the same investment, yes I do believe that Bates and Grayson are doing a good job, but restricted by our finances makes it an almost impossible job without the money to compete even in this division let alone the premiership, bright young talent and ageing journeymen will only take us so far, Leeds will always be a big club but nowadays its money that talks Im afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

BUT MONEY ISN'T TIGHT We have the highest prices in the league, highest gates, money from cup runs, player sales etc. and have made millions in profit in the last 5 years or so. Anyone who believes we don't have money is either deluded, a moron, or both. {Ed032's Note - its all gone offshore tho

So we have the money to compete with the top clubs yeah? even if we had, which we aint, Bates wouldnt splash out, keep taking the medication bud.

you wouldnt call our striker situation a crisis???

we have mcormack and paynter. lets say we have further bad luck and mcormack picks up a knock this weekend, are you telling me that we are going to threaten defences with paynter up on his own?
have you seen him in action lately? trust me his pace and movement isnt going to be frightening many defences. is your surname bates?? {Ed032's Note - we'll play one up front - so. and what about nunez

Believable4 Unbelievable1

You mean the nunez who wasnt good enough to feature in graysons plans last year? we need him to slot in for gradel. so what you saying is that when you realise paynter couldnt hit a barn door with a shovel nunez is your answer? and this is what we should expect and condone from a club the size of leeds united?
i do hope the opening 3 games go well. if they dont the fans will turn and you know it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, the Nunez who's a hero in his own country and made a huge impact at the end of the last Championship season playing for an awful side. That's right, THAT Nunez. {Ed032's Note - he has taken time adjusting but sg always knew the boy could play. he'll be a star this year

Agree0 Disagree0

The Nunez that was MVP of Central America's Continental Cup, the Nunez that is seen as the best player in an international team with the likes of Wilson Palacios in, the Nunez that every single Scunthorpe fan loved, the Nunez that scored a screamer against Motherwell, the Nunez who took Falkirk apart.

Think it's safe to say he's a decent player. {Ed032's Note - oh yes he is my friend and he'll be ripping defences to shreds very soon

Right About this Smith saga - as a through and through Leeds fan i was happy to see Smith cross the pennines, however after a few years to get over it i understand he did it for the club as for him coming back because this is where he belongs then fine but is that really the reason when the wages seem to be the stumbling block? now im not saying this is the case i am only going on the rumours i have heard but come on he cant want to return that badly if the rumours are correct and it is about wages lets face it as leeds fans anyone of us would jump at the chance of playing for the mighty whites and pulling on the white shirt even if it ment dropping 15 grand a week to 45 grand i hope im wrong and this isnt the reason i hope smith comes back and stays fit but if he doesnt come back because of money then we dont want him we dont need players like that, we want players playing for the shirt, also i think Brown will be a class signing for us just the type of player we need i know he is not for the long term future but the knowledge and experience he could pass on to the youth will be pricless good bit of buissness by SG - M.O.T

Believable3 Unbelievable4

ED: Has Smith been rumoured to sign for any other club. {Ed032's Note - someone mentioned southampton

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Bates will not spend a penny, freebies once again
Clear profit on Kasper as he was a freebie
He saved us and am very grateful for that
But the sooner he sells the better.to somebody with ambition

Clear profit on Kasper? Did you forget we had to pay him a substantial wage and possibly a signing on fee that was not too shabby?

He went for £1-1.5 million, he was on £15k a week so at most he got paid £750k from us.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can definitely see 5 coming in:

JLloyd Samuel
Alex Mendy
Eric Lichaj
Goalkeeper
Midfielder

Agree0 Disagree0

Samuel has great experinace Osbourne will be great cover and ive heard Mendy is a good player so i hope them 3 sign. {Ed032's Note - see how they do against sheff weds

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm going to the game so looking forward to having a look at them, I think we will definitely sign another keeper, though it's debatable whether it will be a good keeper. Kingson? Hahhnemann? Lonergan? Stockdale? None are better than Kasper. Also can see us signing a loan forward till January to cope with Somma's lay-off and Becchio's seemingly endless injury. {Ed032's Note - i think there will be a lot of talent left out of the 25 man squads in the prem. whether we can afford any of them is debatable. young suso from liverpool would be good

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Ed, Norwich has both Pacheco & Lansbury last season, they both performed fantastically, why can we not find similar players?

LUFC announce that Flamingo Land are the new shirt sponsors of the Academy

Ken Bates commented that he was pleased to have a company on board who shared his own business ethos - Take the paying public for a ride {Ed032's Note - i like it

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Funny {Ed032's Note - i thought so

Agree0 Disagree0

Flamingo Land.....that says it all about us at the moment. Farcical. {Ed032's Note - i think he was joking

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh no I wasn't, look at the LUFC website

Agree0 Disagree0

No, he really wasn't. We have entered into a deal with Flamingo Land for the academy lads. They don' look too happy in the pics, Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Id rther the youth top thsn the senior one

He meant the joke about taking people for a ride & not the deal itself you retards lol {Ed032's Note - indeed. it was a well thought out joke

I had a dream last night that I saw Alan Smith training with the LUFC squad...who knows?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Funny that, i had one about bates spending money {Ed032's Note - mine usually involves kelly brook

Agree0 Disagree0

Was it a wet dream by any chance? {Ed032's Note - very wet :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Kelly Brook is a fine figure of a woman, our Editor has very good taste my fellow Leeds fans MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Rather watch Kelly Brook in shorts than Smith, probably be cheaper than Smith too. {Ed032's Note - my bird is definitely not cheap - how dare you

LEEDS United have insisted winger Max Gradel will stay at Elland Road, amid reports of a £2.5m transfer request from West Ham.

Manager Simon Grayson denied that Gradel had asked to leave Leeds following the bid last week.

West Ham are not thought to have increased their bid but Gradel was rumoured this week to have told associates that he would leave Elland Road before the end of the summer transfer window.

Grayson said: I don t know where people get this stuff from. There s been no written transfer request and no unrest from him.

You ve seen from his performances in pre-season that he s focused on what he needs to do, and we don t want him to leave.

People are out there to cause a bit of trouble and unsettle players but I spoke to Max about the situation and told him to focus on his football. That s all he wants to do. The only people who matter in this is myself, the chairman (Ken Bates) and Max Gradel.

Gradel is out of contract with Leeds in less than 12 months time and his short deal has encouraged both West Ham and Fulham to identify him as a summer transfer target.

Martin Jol has stated he wants David Stockdale to go on loan to a championship side so he has a recall clause in the deal, do we really want to sign him knowing he can be recalled at any time. {Ed032's Note - i do find the recall clause a bit worrying

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson insists there has been no unrest from in-demand winger Max Gradel.

The Ivorian winger has been linked with a summer move away from Elland Road as he has only one year left on his contract.

Championship rivals West Ham tabled a bid for the 23-year-old, although that move was swiftly rebuffed by Leeds' hierarchy.

Gradel scored Leeds' midweek winner against Rochdale and Grayson insists the winger is focused on giving his best for the club.

United's manager insists Gradel has not submitted a transfer request, nor has he indicated that he would like to move on.

No request
"I don't know where people get this stuff from, " Grayson told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "There's been no written transfer request and no unrest from him.

"You've seen from his performances in pre-season that he's focused on what he needs to do, and we don't want him to leave.

"People are out there to cause a bit of trouble and unsettle players but I spoke to Max about the situation and told him to focus on his football. That's all he wants to do.

"The only people who matter in this is myself, the chairman (Ken Bates) and Max Gradel."

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Exactly as some of us suspected - people talking crap and trying to make news to report or rumours to talk about. until gradel comes out himself and specifically says he wants to go, he'll be playing for us this season. really hope we can extend his contract

Panic not everyone - we have got a few "new" players this season that we didn't really have last - Paddy (better than Naylor), Parker (better than McCartney), White (better than Bessone), Nunez (better than Johnson), Clayton (better than Kilkenny), not to mention Tom Lees, Ross McCormack (fit at last) and "the mystery trialist otherwise known as Alexandre Mendy". There is hope

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I agree with your overall sentiments pal, but Parker is NOT better than McCartney and I'm far from convinced about Clayton. He never set League One alight so I can't see him being good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clayton is sh*t

Agree0 Disagree0

Defending Midfielders rarely set anything alight? He got good reviews and is still a developing player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Clayton can't play at this level {Ed032's Note - give him a chance

What happened to the Giles Barnes trial? I really rate him and was hopeful to sign him.

Also, in regards to solving our goalkeeping problem, maybe abit hopeful but what about one from these three released players:

Maik Taylor
Richard Kingston
Marcus Hahnemann

+ also another released prem player who i can see doing very well at leeds, jason koumas?

wages may be a problem for all these players but would be a dream if we could sign a couple of these, any thoughts ed?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

There was NEVER a giles barnes trial It was all rumour and speculation Paul Dews confirmed at the time there was nothing to that story.

Again Grayson is on talking about Gradel, expect another few bids soon then. Nothing of a new contract suggested by others. At least the money for him will finance Smith and Le Fondre, as we need a striker now.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

You couldn't be more wrong - Gradel's going nowhere and Smith and Le Fondre aren't coming, thank goodness.

what about john carew? experienced forward who would get bags of goals in the championship. Released from Villa and no-one seems to be interested him, stoke seem to be looking else where for strikers, not carew. Personally i think he would be great at leeds, a big name signing like we all need.

IN GRAYSON WE TRUST. MOT. {Ed032's Note - i think wages would be a problem

website is stating that a decison will be made shortly about Stockdale - Jol has apparently said a deal is close but theres a "little issue" regarding a recall clause. Unfortunately it also states that Ipswich are now favorites. Hope we don't miss out on him, i think he'd be a great signing

The new away kit looks nice. Simon should sign up
the trialist. They should fill up the slots in the team. That leaves the goalkeeping position, CB and upfront. We need a permanent no1 keeper, not a
loan one. CB that has leadership qualities. Tom Lees
still raw.Someone who can partner Kisnorbo to form
a strong defence line. O'Brian looks suspect , not
consistent and same goes for Alex Bruce. The forward line is our strongest line but unfortunately
Beechio and Somma is injured. We still have Max,
Snodgrass, Nunez , MacCormack and Paynter so it's
an option for Simon. I suggest maybe a loan player
for the forward position until Beechio gets better. If
this 3 positions is fill up with quality players then Leeds will have a team capable of mounting a challenge to the PREMIER LEAGUE. Simon might has
something up his sleeve and surprise us. Who knows.
In Grayson we trust. Leeds fan forever. You're a
genius Grayson if you pull this off.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Andy O'Brien is solid, by far our best defender.

Lads i cant wait for bates to sign some great loan signings once the premier squads are finialised. Who wouldnt want their brightest young stars to play in the biggest capacity every other week? Fair play to bates, why waste moneyon hasbeens? Let the arabs do that. Er will always be a fortress next season and graysons more than earned r trust MOT

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Good call, i have a funny feeling we'll see quite a few loans which isnt always ideal BUT it will hopefully see us get a better quality of player

As A LEEDS supporter who should we get rid of the manager or the chairman, or both?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Chairman in Grayson we trust MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Chairman SG is great at our level

Agree0 Disagree0

Feel sorry for sg no suport from the chairman but sg should come out and say so

Agree0 Disagree0

If we could get rid of the Chairman SG could prove how good he is. Hard to do with no money for transfers and a wage restriction below most of our division

Agree0 Disagree0

Neither. For a start it's not possible to 'get rid' of the chairman...HE OWNS THE CLUB Do you really thinks he's likely to sack himself??
