McDermott has said he wants to sign players who know what it takes to get out of this decision. These are some players that I would want but are also realistic
Alex Pearce - Was main CB when Reading was promoted a d is also a free in the summer
Surman - CM from Norwich good on the ball and good passer not being played for them so it could happen and also was in Norwich promotion team
De Ridder - Pacey winger not involved at Southampton at the moment also in there promotion side
Simon Church and Noel Hunt - Good strikers on a free in summer was in reading promotion side

There is a reason why there on free transfers! go for some quality and pay for it!

There are also many good players who for various reasons are out of contract! Remember we lost Snodgrass, Johnson, Kilkenny etc.
Why pay for what you can get for free, it enables abetter package to be offered -but only if the quality is right.

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason a player is available on a free is often that they have refused to sign a new contract, it does not mean that a player is not good enough as the first reply suggests.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pearce I would agree with, same with Surman, but not too sure about the rest.

A few attacking transfer options for the summer:

Chris Burke (free I think)
Dwight Gayle (depends if P'boro go down)
Matt Philips (Out of contract, people say he's Prem bound but not been great this season but has bags of potential)
Maybe someone like Hal Robson Kanu as a different option.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why does gayle depend on relegation evry body keeps saying this and I don't get it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can I not add Simeon Jackson to this list.

Liverbird

Agree0 Disagree0

Ausman, if P'Boro go down, they will suffer a loss of revenue and many of the players (including Gayle) will want to leave. If they stay up the better players (Gayle) won't mind staying so it will take a lot more money to get him. Nobody wants a player who doesn't want to be there.

Agree0 Disagree0

When a player wants to move to another club, they eventually move, for whatever fee the new club is willing to pay. If gayle would rather stay at pete than play for us, he's as mad as warnock. Peteborough really don't have a say, same as us, with our better players in last 10 years.

I know they're part of a relegated team but so was Pearce. I would like to see moves for Baldock and Adomah, cut price and good quality!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pearce is terrible

Brian McDermott said that he has taken the job on a lot of good will. Does that mean that we won't be given any money to spend on new players next season? I hope that we do have money to spend, as it's clear to see a few of the players we have at the moment clearly aren't good enough.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

GFH are still selling shares, he won't get a penny until a man with money is found.

Agree0 Disagree0

And you know this because you're an expert on GFH, tosh, he will have money

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds fans know this because we're experts on Leeds. He'll have £3. 50 and a packet of winegums to spend.

Agree0 Disagree0

Then we will not go up.

I know I may be dwelling on the past here but I just recently watched leeds v Manchester United game which was played in the seventies. The likes of bremner and giles bossing midfield was a delight. They made football look so easy just pass and keep ball. oh the glory days ee thrashed Manchester United 5-1 that day and they had the likes of charlton and best. We were brilliant please bring yhe glory days back brian. Supported the whites for 43 years and always will come what may

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Remember it well, same season that we beat soton 7-0, total football

Any chance if funds are available, because about time gfh started flexing some muscle, that Peter Crouch could make an impact in the mighty whites shirt, doesn't seem to be happening in a slow failing Stoke side any more

The Jyg

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No Crouch for me, it would encourage Hoof it football, had enough of that!

Just had a chat on Norwich site about becchio. I know he's history but I wanted to get there spin on things. Turns out they think he's a waste of space and will leave in summer. I don't think we should get him back (not that he'd come) but just thought I'd let you know.
Btw I believe we need a tall fast striker to chase balls and dominate the air. I'm sure Brian knows who he will want and I'm hoping he gets the funds to get who he wants.
For me:
Chris Burke
Dwight gayle

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Gayle is someone I have been on about for awhile scores lots of goals in a poor team would fit in with our system as he plays on his own up front and brings players in so Ross would score a load as well and green
Less than a million probably about 500k

I agree about Dwight Gayle. May depend on whether Peterborough stay up or not.

Agree0 Disagree0

People forget what a great player Becchio was for LEEDS UNITED. Short memories.

Personally I would accept Becchio, Beckford or any body else back if BMD thought they could do a job, I don't agree with all this ffs move on rubbish, if they can do a job and get us promoted I don't care who we get but at the end of the day BMD will get who he wants or can afford, its not like we actually have say is it.

Agree0 Disagree0

People forget becchio was offered a brilliant deal to stay at Leeds and turned it down to bench warm at carrot road

Agree0 Disagree0

Cork whites,
i go to most games and becchio is a very very average player
