Last year I tipped Burnley to go up with either Middlesborough, Derby, Hull, or Wolves. I also said Preston would do well. This year the teams coming up are all relegation fodder imo. Newcastle will be the team to go up out of the premiership lot. Think Villa will struggle first season like QPR did. Norwich are an average team. Derby and Sheff Wed/ Hull are the only teams you can say will def be challenging. So with a couple of decent buys we could easily be up there next season.
I go Newcastle then any from Derby, sheff/ Hull, Leeds, and maybe Villa if they adapt quickly.
Think Brighton will be there abouts as well.

We're going to need more than a couple we've lost 4 first team regulars.

If you look at match day squad of say 18, I would say we need to add around 4-5, or even 6 if bridcut doesn't re-sign so that is a lot really.

Looking at 2 forwards, 1 CH at least or 2 if Bellu goes, winger type, experienced midfielder to help when things get tough and a LB cover for CT. these all have to be of quality to get in the 18 on regular basis so no easy job to be fair, esp without a head of recruitment you would think.

i agree with OP, those coming up will be bottom 7, villa 14-24th and think they will be lucky to stay up. Newcastle will be strong but with so much change it will be very hard. who of their players is decent AND staying. Nowrich will do well, derby also flatter to decieve. I think it will be a slightly easier league next year and opportunity to improve.

When I said couple did not mean two. Need new CBs pacy attacking midfielder, and viera might progress pretty quick he looks the type. One good striker as ithink wood will score if service is there. Would also like to get a naturally left sided player, wing back to give taylor cover.

Hope you right Berm, always hard to call this league esp at start of summer.
Like you think Norwich will be strong again, Newcastle for me may be the outstanding team if that Rafa bloke stays, Brighton again and whoever loses the play off game should be top 6 next season as well. villa bit unknown but may get a shock so not tipping them for top 6.

At this stage I'm going for Newcastle, Norwich, Brighton, hull/ wendies, and 2 slots free depending on summer buys.

Villa will finish higher than 14th.

Good post BIGE. I'm too pissed to put anything else or read all the replies, although I'm sure they're all good.

Peace and love bambinos

Notts is right. Villa will finish no lower than 8th. We need 7 players to compete for playoffs. Cover for Taylor, 3 central defenders and 3 strikers. I'm hoping and assuming we will buy Birdcage meaning 8 players won't be needed, just 7. Although I disagree with the strategy I can see Coyle being asked to play right wing next season so technically that would be another position to recruit in meaning it could even be 9 players required. 10 if Bailey Peacock-Farrell fails to sign.

So George apart from the goalposts it's a whole new squad 😊😊.

George not far wrong but creative midfielder a necessity.

Yes Stickey pretty much. It's all about the squad and having cover for each position. Bamba and Bellusci are squad players really. I don't mind them playing 15 games each per season but no more. Time for better. Taylor has no cover. Reserve goalkeeper looks Spurs bound. We have only 2 strikers both look like squad players to me and in case of Douk I'd use him in AM or RW role so we really are 3 short there. Then we must wrap up Birdcage. Will take approximately 20m outlay imo.

You are right of course but what creative midfielder is willing to ply his trade in the championship? Which clubs apart from those relegated from the PL can afford such a quality player?

22 May 2016 06:49:21
Would be great if we could totally revamp squad but if we are going to buy players that have some quality and make a difference would say we can afford about 4. Maybe we can unearth some gems from lower leagues to bolster squad. Think botaka will get his chance next season. Watch out for viera he's improving fast, and wilks. Stokes will be knocking on door as well. Unless erwin and douks go can't see us buying lots of strikers.

Bige

Unearth gem in lower leagues? What like Winnall? First thing Cellino has to do after he's decided who will appear to be managing us is get his cheque book out. Can't see that happening but hope I'm wrong. While Stokes Mulhern and Wilks are good youth products think they will need one more season before they breach the first team.

Its impossible to tell where sides will end up at this stage. How anyone can say Villa top 8 and Newcastle top of the tree. Pure speculation at best but most likely pure bullshit.
As it stands now Villa are going down again imo, if not but very close. Norwich and Newcastle will be there abouts
And as for Leeds. Who the **** knows.

Bige knows his stuff regarding youth team players. How many youth games have you seen George to make a statement like that? Correct me if i'm wrong.

Bige does know his youth.
Let's play the embryos then. See how they get on.

George Stokes is better than douks or erwin. Mulhern I never said was ready, needs to go out on loan in my opinion. Wilks is looking good but will not be ready yet but is classy and one to watch. Bigger teams than us are playing embryos.

I've heard good things about Stokes. I hear you regarding embryonic life forms but while Cellino rules the roost I am not filled with confidence that the correct things shall be done.

George, it's Saturday and for your treatment today is a day to release your pent up frustration you are allowed one post of all that negativity you've built up in last few days. Remember to let everything out as I know the last few days was very hard for you but your doing very well.

George that's a kind of false euphoria brought on from confusion in the vita cortex in the base of the brain near the spinal column. Ignore this it's an early symptom of happiness . You could relapse.

I read your post and I think I just relapsed. I asked Bermo if he knew what you was on about but he said the words you used were too large for him. I said to him that doesn't seem to bother you when you are with Speedyg. Bermo said he doesn't mind the largeness then.

21 May 2016 22:38:59
i definitely do mind the largeness. my wife is only 4'10. As for the large words, I do get cerfugled well easy, if only I had your high IQ.

It's girth Bermondsey has a problem with George largeness no problem for him.

Antennucci and Wooton released. Can't help but be a bit worried by the impending McCormack transfer case.
There's every possibility we will get slapped with a transfer ban which, in arguably our most important summer in a long time, will be a severe blow.
The squad was shaping nicely toward the end of the season but, that was largely down to the loan signings.
We desperately need two centre halves, combative midfielders, a wide man or two and a proven goalscorer, signed on perms.
Personally, I'd have given Antennucci another year as he was a useful squad player.
Looking like this might be a seriously tough summer.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 May 2016 10:33:51
i don't see how they can hit us with a transfer ban when spurs and saints where not hit with one for exactly the same thing. then again it is leeds so might happen.

Optimistic post city white, I make that 7 signings. Even with any extra season ticket revenue I just can't see it. Though as I'm all Leeds I live in hope.
