I wouldn't expect too many 1st team changes against Luton. Every chairman loves a cup run.
So the likes of stokes mulhern and Denton will have to wait.
Shame as imo I believe we will have more important matters come next May.

Personally I would keep playing roughly the same team but stick Pontus in. Important to keep gelling the team together for our run to the top two. :)

Guys

Midweek games call for some, not many, but a few changes. They have for a couple of decades now.

Reasons

1. Resting players
2. Giving others chance those selected are happy for awhile
3. Competition for places
4. Injury prevention for those carrying minor knocks
5. Eye on Saturday game

So long as no Bamba, he's past it. It's a long old season guys and I want another 3 points on Saturday. Let's see what Monk does on Tuesday.

Agree6 Disagree1

22 Aug 2016 06:35:46
Good shout George. Players who are given a chance SHOULD want to give their all so it gives Monk something to think about. For me I wouldn't make too many changes, but Monk is on an average of about 3 - 4 changes a match at the mo, so I would expect a few. Still Regardless of Tuesday, it's Saturday that counts for me. Forest are similar to ourselves in the fact they are expected to do better, but often fail to deliver. Kiss of death here, but I fancy us on Saturday, so as long as we come through tomorrow with no injuries, I'll be happy.

Think he will play phillips and pablo and pontus against luton. Need to keep whole squad up with the pace and knowing what their role in squad is. Monk doing ok in my eyes. Mowatt putting more effort in as well. Even after dodgy start am confident we will be up there this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 17:33:41
Team I would like to see and think will win against Luton!

SILVER VEST
COYLE BAMBA PONTUS TAYLOR
DALLAS MOWATT GRIMES ROOFE
DOUKARA WOOD

THIS TEAM WILL BE STRONG ENOUGH TO BEAT LUTON ME THINKS!?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2016 17:40:39
no bamba for me whoever we are playing rather see vann or someone else youth play.

would start with douk maybe and wood but try and bring on a youth striker for at least 30 minutes.

21 Aug 2016 17:44:44
Bamba will be trying to fight for his place back in the team! So I think if he comes in now he will put in a shift bro!

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Aug 2016 17:58:29
Diamond. If I was to make a change I would put doukara with antonsson we have already seen what Wood and doukara have to offer.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 18:01:32
No Bambi. I think he no longer cares.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 18:39:13
Bamba has had his time, time to move on.

Would be nice to see Silvestri given another chance as the little I have seen of Green leaves me totally unconvinced.

Although it's only a cup game Monk should play all his best players, at this stage of the season they need all the playing time together they can get?

I also have to work in Luton, I don't want to get even more crap from the locals.

Agree2 Disagree5

21 Aug 2016 19:24:32
Bamba has had plenty of chances, to put a shift in, and has failed since he got a contract. Time to move him on, he is not captian material or good enough for us now.

Agree1 Disagree2

21 Aug 2016 19:42:21
Bamba s done, his time is up.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Aug 2016 20:17:26
To me Bamba is captain material but his problem is he can't concentrate for 90 mins. We know how good he can be as he was superb when he first joined us but gradually he has become more and more a liability. I actually believe he cares about the club, well as much as any player does these days, but is generally on the slide.
We have better but I would not get rid just yet unless we get in a replacement as at least four CBs are needed for the season.
And who knows maybe he might step back in occasionally and prove most people wrong?

Agree3 Disagree2

21 Aug 2016 20:33:59
"To me Bamba is captain material but his problem is he can't concentrate for 90 mins. We know how good he can be as he was superb when he first joined us but gradually he has become more and more a liability. "

Says it all, he is surplus to requirements and there are far better in the squad now, he has had his chances, over and over, and not producing.

Agree1 Disagree2

21 Aug 2016 20:51:30
Cork, no way is he a Captian, did you attend the brum game?
Captians lead and organise the team, he was a fish out of water!

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Aug 2016 21:10:00
Ok AGM whos your captain then?
Bridcutt? Not a real leader imo too quiet on pitch bit like Batty. Maybe Bartley?

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Aug 2016 21:20:48
He cares but he simply isn't good enough.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Aug 2016 21:59:15
Coops is actually doing a good job. Thought he played well against the Owls. Trouble is he may be dislodged by PJ in a couple of weeks.

22 Aug 2016 01:56:38
The only material Bambi is is transfer list.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Aug 2016 11:30:53
Bamba not a good captain and no good defending. Maybe get him a journalist job with tabloids. Sure yep eill give him a column.

I hope Monkey rests some players for Luton. Would like to see Silver vest, Coyle, the Douk and Debbie Does all start. Keep the rested players fresh for the League. I'd also like to see Stokes warm the bench. He has to be virtually ready by now.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2016 17:19:51
I'd disagree George we need to build momentum plenty of time to rest individual players we are only after playing 5 competitive games.

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Aug 2016 17:37:30
Nah George you are right! let's rest some players n get them fresh for a run of wins in the league! Bring on Nottingham!

21 Aug 2016 17:41:13
not sure I think we could give a few others a chance to play, it is only cup so give some young legs a run out.

Know what you mean but there's a squad and that's what it's there for. I'd personally like to see someone come in do well and give Monkey a real selection headache for Forest. Competition for places. I'm not advocating a different eleven just say 3 outfield changes plus let's see what Silver Vest is up to.

Managers whose teams lost yesterday claimed tiredness as a factor. It is a long season and we need to keep players fresh.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 18:40:36
We need this present team to play together as much as they can at this stage of the season? I would give Silvestri a chance, but the others need the experience of playing together more.

Agree2 Disagree3

21 Aug 2016 19:41:46
Deda managers make excuses all the time if professional football players are tired after 5 games in a season God help them because they have another 60 odd games ahead of them. And if that is the case their fitness coaches should be sacked a comedian ran a load of marathons in so many days.

Bit harsh dude. It is still the summer and it can be draining running around in the heat. Ask Speedyg when Bermo chases him in the garden.

I'd still like to see a few players rested. An opportunity to use the squad.

Agree5 Disagree1

George

These guys are still young and fit and being paid to do so? Thus far into the season (what a joke) these guys should WANT to play?

I hate to drag up the 'good old days' but there was a time when players had to play three or four times a week at the end of the season and still came through with it?

These players would probably relish the chance of a 'slightly easier' game to push themselves?

We don't need to use 'the squad' we need to have the first team firing on all cylinders, not reading the manual on how to get the engine started?

Maybe in a months time we need to think otherwise but for now we need to be getting the team playing together and learning each others strengths?

Exactly wex! Lol. Let's see what Monk comes up with but I still advocate resting 3 outfielders. I'd like to beat Forest and I believe the schedule over the next 3 or 4 weeks is rather stupid thanks to the FA FL UEFA etc.

if wood stays injury free all season he will be top scorer imo but if your aunt had a willy she would be your uncle .

although I really like the look of antonsson.

Newport

Or a hermaphrodite

I believe Wood and Ant will push each other all the way fna fna and perhaps end up joint top scorers. 28 goals for each will do nicely. Want to see Roofe get on scoresheet soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - transsexual?}

21 Aug 2016 16:01:12
not sure as I so like the of Antonsson but if wood stays fit he will be there or there abouts, what odds you offering?

I think a trans is something different altogether. I believe a hermaphrodite can also be termed an intersex.

The world so crazy now with everyone sexual preferences and gender identity there's probably several hundred permutations of human being.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I will bow to your greater knowledge of this area George....}

21 Aug 2016 18:43:36
If Wood is our best scorer this season I will apologise about all the remarks I have made about him in the past.

. but having said that it will also prove me right that he has been a total waste of space and players like Antenucci did more and scored a lot of goals instead of just waiting around for someone to put a ball in front of goal?

Woods is STILL not chasing balls, he is waiting for them to arrive?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 20:13:20
i agree leeds4alongtime in that I loved ant, real class, good finisher and made things happen, gutted we let him go, however woods scored more than ant last year and was injured. I think wood is good by your argument champman, sniffer clarke are both useless as they didn't chase balls they waited for them to arrive.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 20:47:23
Having personally watched Clarke and Chapman play I would just say that they played to their strengths and by the requirements of the day, neither were lazy and both produced goals, Wood isn't doing that, he is still missing sitters that both of those guys would have put away.

Wood scored more because he played more games, perhaps? Attenucci used to try and rip the ball off of the opposition at every opportunity, when have you ever seen Wood do that?

Like I said, I'd love to be proven wrong, Antonsson has already hit the ground running with no previous experience of his team mates, and doing the job he was brought in to do.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Aug 2016 20:53:30
"I think a trans is something different altogether. I believe a hermaphrodite can also be termed an intersex.

Think of a clock, 12-00 being male and 06-00 being female?

We are all somewhere between the two, very few are 100% despite what you/ they may think.

I have a lot of 'friends' - one or two are normal - or so they think. lol!

Lighten up, doesn't matter does it?

Agree0 Disagree1

21 aug 2016 08:59:11
yes better no one can say otherwise but we need to carry on that way get a run of 6-8 games let clubs know were in it to win it . last 2seasons we play 3 bad 3 good need to be more stable . to get into play offs or win it you can only lose about 8-10 games so . solid at back and score goals which as been our biggest problem . good thing bench is stronger . so players will need to put shift in or get dropped . so bring on forest.

Bring on Forest? Small matter of Luton away in the League Cup first!

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 18:46:13
Game against Luton isn't important in the run of things, but would give Monk a chance to let all these guys gain further experience with each other? We don't need to rest the team, we need to push on and gain experience of playing with each other?

brilliant performance yesterday boys. solid at the back, batty adding much needed steel in the middle (keep watching and learning KP and viera) , pace and both goals coming from width. service these strikers and they will both score goals. confidence is everything so keep off woods' back. yesterday twas good to have batty and chapman back in the team!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2016 14:08:00
Do me a favour
Keep off woods back
Hardly prolific. Blokes usesless
When he scores 6 in next 10 games then I get off his back
Blimey
So fickle.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 15:44:50
I've always backed him in a leeds shirt aus, what's fickle about that?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 16:02:34
i've always backed wood and to be fair he delievered more than anyone else last year. he is not perfect and not quite champan but very good at this level and best at club (maybe this andersson can rival him though? )

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - we all know you love a bit of wood, especially Speedys....}

21 Aug 2016 18:53:27
Are you kidding?

Antennuci was better than Woods over the past two seasons, went looking for balls and made goals, not stood around waiting for passes. And now he's gone and we still have Wood?

Woods will never be a class player until he goes looking for a ball rather than stand in the middle of the field waiting for it.

Ain't happened in the past and it won't happen in the future, hope to be proved totally wrong!

We have younger players who can sit in the middle of the field waiting for balls to come in and score all over the place.

We cannot afford the luxury of a player that occasionaly scores a penalty or lucky overhead kick in the dying minutes, we need players who score goals from the off.

. and not put their team mates under pressure all game to get a ball in to them?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 21:41:48
love ant he was quality, good finisher and made things happen and scored out of nothing but wood when fit is a goal scorer, last season top score and this year scored three in four?

this chasing the ball is all rubbish, yes some players do but that is not some players game, going by this champman and alan clarke were both rubbish and pretty sure they didn't chase around and made things happen they were given the ball and score. not to mention linaker for england. some players like wood offer nothing but goals and if wood contiunes socring at his current rate this scorer he will be my hero and many in the kop will be cheering his name.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 07:56:35
that should read "has given me a lot of hope ".

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2016 07:46:28
Am I dreaming to wish for a positive goal difference. I believe if we get that we will very close to a play off position. It must be 5 or 6 seasons when we had a positive goal difference. Last nights game hasn't given me a lot of hope for the season and I saw plenty of potential in our team. Sad to hear the rumours about Mr Monk, trust Mr C will put those ideas away and let the side prove him wrong

So glad to see Mr Bridcutt finally arrive permanently,

keep on marching lads.
