this is a rumour by the way john fitz leeds 15 {Ed013's Note - 2 million quid, signs tomorrow}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi ed so do you really think Phillips will sign for us would be great I'm a big fan of his.
Del Boy {Ed013's Note - Oh yes and will sign for wages of 50 grand a week}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed did that mean 2 million quid says he signs tomorrow? If not what did it mean? {Ed013's Note - I meant he will sign for 2 million quid today, tongue in cheek}

Agree0 Disagree0

If we're going to be silly then i've heard David Silva on a season long loan with Man City picking up 99.9% of the wage bill. {Ed013's Note - True}

Ed-surely you mean FACT! {Ed013's Note - FACT}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, I have heard we are after two Newcastle players. one in the AM role and one a ST.

Also they go by the name of something like Bridges & Heskey?

Agree0 Disagree0

In reply to L3EDS, Pardew has hit the roof stating that an offer of 2 dirty toffee wrappers is derisory and holding out for a half empty bottle of panda rola cola.

Has anyone out there got any idea how much we paid for Wootton? I've heard around £250k but this comes from a very unreliable source.

I read in tv was 1 mil

Agree0 Disagree0

Most sources suggest close to a million based on appearances but little if anything up front. Also sell on clause. Sensible business again IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon the actual fee will be something tiny like £50k with the rest on appearances, promotion, clean sheets etc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No don't ye think we've sold enough of are best players . Just get 2 wingers keep are best players ie mcormack and where there . Mot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sharpe couldn't cut it at Southampton . Therefore he's not good enough for us. he's way past his sell by date. would much prefer one of BM unknown gems. CW

Agree0 Disagree0

Well past his sell by date at 27 don't think so he's scored goals all his career even at southampton his record for the amount of games he's played is good

Agree0 Disagree0

Sharp past it?.dont be silly.
what we need is him and ross.
that would be good. shrew leeds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I believe we will make two more signings prior to close of the transfer window.i believe we will find new homes for three from white, norris, pugh, brown, and drury.I also believe hall will be given a chance to prove himself, if he fails he will be sold in jan window.As for ross and ehd they will be kept to provide the unexpected spark and match winning moments.I HAVE NO INSIDE SOURCE.or family connections just my belief.The next few days will prove me right or wrong.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think if we sell white he would go for a lot of money due to the fact that he is extremely over rated. Even though he is worth no more than 1 million I would expect no less than 2 million from a team due to his youthfulness and pace

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd say that was a guess, but to be honest quite an educated guess.
Hope this post comes to fruition

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you expect someone to bid two million pounds for White when
McCormack isn't getting that sort of interest, and he's a proven goal scorer?

I am really pleased with the signing of Wooton. My reasons: he is young, there is scope for improvement. That's part of the pleasure watching young players at your club. Watching them grow and improve as individuals, whilst watching the team grow together ( with other young players such as Murphy, Byram etc) and improve. you get an affinity with the player and the player gets an affinity with the club and the fans. Young players are hungry as well and ultimately have a re-sale value. Secondly, he is versatile. Primarily he is a centre back but can play anywhere across the back four. That is a real asset at our club where the squad has numbers but not a great deal of depth in quality. Thirdly, he must have some Real ability. I know he had one bad game at Chelsa in the League cup last year, but whatever your views about Man utd, you don't play for them, get a contract and play in the champions league unless you have a certain level of quality. Thirdly, I trust B McD's judgement with young players and finding gems. let's not forget he was chief scout at Reading before he was the manager and found some good players then.

So overall, I'm very pleased.

Another post (can't you tell its a slow day at the office!) How are things going with Elliot Kebbie over in Spain, last I hear was interested. Also what happened with Monty Gimpel! I thought this guy had major potential?

Once again sorry for all the posts (just signed up after being an avid reader!)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah what did happen to Monty? He was supposed to be class wasn't he? Bring out the Gimp!

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you two really Leeds fans? Gimple was released. Try to keep up

Agree0 Disagree0

I am a Leeds fan- usually v up to date ta very much, must admit that one slipped the net. wonder what happened? Was rated a such a prospect. Shame. Cheers for update.

Agree0 Disagree0

I knew he had been released, was just wondering what the hell happened with him. He came to us with bags of potential and was meant to be pushing for a spot after 6 month.

Just a though if we don't get the neccesary funds for an out and out winger. Could we possibly play 3 at the back with Byram and perhaps Warnock acting as wing backs, giving us that much needed width.
The only problems being it could take a few games to adapt to and if one centre back gets injured we'll be short, although we could then go back to a 4 man defense.
Would like your thoughts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

In my earlier post I wondered if BMC would go for this. If we don't get a winger in this window then I for one would like to see this system implemented. I would like this as like you said it will give us much needed width, as well as space in the middle of the park (with opposition players marking the wing-backs, instead of everyone being conjested!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock has no pace. Have you seen any games this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock is actually pacey for an old footballer. Have you seem any games this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Being a wide man isn't all about pace, it's the ability to get the ball into the box. Snodgrass didn't have the pace but was still a brilliant winger

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem is Byram is out for potentially a very long time, Peltier has constant nose bleeds once he goes past the halfway line and Warnock isn't fast enough or young enough to get up and back in time, he may be fast for an 'old footballer' and I do really rate him but he is not wing back material.

Another one for you Leeds fans. what is the best away experience to go on this year? (went to Leicester away and loved the atmosphere) Due to work commitments and basically being skint I haven't been able to go to many games in the past couple of years, not that it stopped me. However this year things have changed at work and going whenever possible and want to chalk up the away games!

Im getting really really fed up with reading responses to posts that criticise, pull up on mistakes or are just abusive.
These are moronic nameless posters who offer no opinion, just criticise. If I can agree for a minute you are capable of forming a sentence can u post one? It is really interseting reading other fans take on situations even if I don't agree with them. I just hate childish nameless posts. Come on ed. time to name up or shut up! {Ed013's Note - Your opinion is not that of someone else's! If you can't take other people disagreeing with you then why post? We don't allow abuse or people to pick up on mistakes etc, but occasionally some get through due to the volume of posts coming through. Let me assure you on one thing, most of the posts in reply to you are deleted as they are abusive}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Whilst I do not always agree with your posts, you normally present a constructive argument, and deserve the same in return.You do not deserve abuse and are as entitled to your opinion as anyone else, if people disagree with your position they should pose a constructive reply and sign off.personally I believe, gfh are making steady progress along the right lines, even if it is not as fast as most of us would like.Having said that none of us are privy to the ins and outs of the mess they took over, nor details of their plan for a sustainable future.I for one am taking a leap of faith, hard as it may be after the Bates era.So keep posting and rise above any abuse a minority may give you. {Ed013's Note - Well said mate}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said 2nd poster I too don't always agree with you Ausman but let it be said if we all concurred with 1 another what a sad state of affairs the world would be and prob be supporting them across the Pennines. I do think at least you can raise a good debate . and you're hearts there for LEEDS

Wootton is an excellent signing for us, along with Byram & Lees we have 3 defenders for the next 10 years, providing we get promoted soon. If the manager thinks he get get in someone better than McCormack then let him go to Boro. I don't care. I'd like to keep him and let others leave, but nobody wants the likes of Tonge, Brown, White etc.

The managers decision is final!

MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Michael Tonge was brilliant against Brighton and added a bit of attacking know how when he came on against The Wendies . he should be retained and remain part of the squad.

JDC

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see why anyone can criticise Tonge - OK he is knocking on but gives huge experience and the odd killer goal. Not all Colin's signings were bad.

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack needs a CF to feed off and the only player we have with the mettle for that position at the moment is Tonge as he showed in odd flashes against Brighton a Weds was Tonge give him a go

Agree0 Disagree0

Hello folks, I heard a while back that we were looking at Chris Humphrey at Motherwell for a wide player of the snoddy-ilk.

Any news on this old rumour?

Wotton could be a right signing cover for centre halfs or right back that now means we have 2 people who can play right back pelts and Scott and that means our New right winger can come in and storm this league I introduce Sam Bryam to you people looked class going forward last year dynamic and adventurous then all we need is a left winger who rumours look like m Taylor from west ham who would be a solid worker down the left also both add a bit of cover for there full backs things are bright things are all white keep the faith in bri mac we trust m.o.t
Crossgatescal

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ever thought that BMcD could now change his formation with a back three . Lees/ Peltier - Wootton - Pearce and wing backs . Sam Byram plus (Aidy White?)or Warnock / Drury.

JDC

Agree0 Disagree0

Aidy white warnock and drury cannot play wing backs, in fact I'm not sure where aidy white CAN play

It was also reported a few weeks ago that BMD had the go-ahead to sign 2 players.

I think Greer was top of the list but when that fell thorugh Wootton was the next option.

So I would expect to see 1 more, then the clear out will start and let's not forget, in the CC we can still deal after the transfer window has shut (if the rules ain't changed this year).

Really happy with some of the signings to date and considering we have only let 1 go (and 8 or so left) things are on the up, just want to keep Ross M and I think we will be Ok til Jan. Then BMd can re-evaluate.

Scott Wootten; no one saw that one coming!

Still one or two more to come but, may have to wait until transfer deadline day IMHO

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well that's 4 players in now by BMcD with an average age of 24.5. The future is definitely looking brighter now.

Great signing young Scott Wootten bringing him into the fold. I think there is a few more twists to this window, just my thoughts.
If Ross is sold I think this will test BMs relationship with GFH, but I feeling confident GFH will not sell.

If these rumours about GM Steven being available for £500,000 I hope we could be one of the clubs at the front of the pack for his signature. We all know we desperately need an out and out winger.
